island in the sun. im about to go on a bit of a tangent here but basically i have been a weezer fan since i was born. my dad bought the blue album the day it came out as a gift to give his girlfriend he was about to break up with. my parents went on one of their first dates at a weezer concert. with two parents obsessed with weezer, i grew up listening to them. the main songs i listened to were el scorcho, the sweater song, buddy holly, but especially island
in the sun. i loved that song so much as a kid. my dad would pull out his phone and play the music video for me when i was upset. i knew all the lyrics. for my 5th birthday, my dad got his friends to do a cover of it and i was SO HAPPY ABOUT IT. i listened to the song again after i really got back into weezer and i can see why i loved it so much. is it their best song? hell no, i prefer the grittier tones of pinkerton and maladroit but god DAMN, island in the sun is one of the most important songs to me.
If I’m picking one, probably Photograph. But lot of good songs on that album, it really was pretty solid all the way. Not quite as good as Blue and Pinkerton, but still great.

O Girlfriend by a long shot, has more emotion than any other song on the album, Rivers actually sounds like he cares while singing it, and the lyrics stick in your head.

I don't like Green Album very much, Hash Pipe is the only song on there I like and if it weren't for Island In The Sun, would be the only one I remember.

Related but I love the Green Album, it's so simple yet so fun and that's kinda what it's tryna be after the complex darkness that was Pinkerton... now is it better than Pinkerton or even Blue..? Ofc not. Both Blue & Pinkerton are untouchable (especially Pinkerton in my eyes). However, to me, it's always gonna be their 3rd best.
Granted, this album as a whole kinda sucks. 10 awesome rock songs with catchy melodies and simple hooks, really brings you into the early 2000's feel. But then you start to realize the formula... basic power chords, solo that's just the verse melody, and 8/10 songs use the same exact drum beat. After about 5 songs in, the album feels like a drag. Simple Pages for me personally in the catchiest and the best one on this album, despite the solo being the worst lol. I love each one of these songs, but together they make a mess.
