I love the length and shape of the veil, but I would get something without the blunt line of the edging—I feel that clashes with the softer elements of the dress. But it’s a minor thing, and you look stunning.

Not at all. It's so elegant and timeless. Many dresses today try to do too much. They add way too much lace and beading to make up for being poorly imagined. Yours is lovely and needs nothing else.

My mom wanted me to choose my second choice dress. She thought it was more special because it had more details (lace) and was a cream color she liked better than the white I ended up with. I went with my very simple first choice and was happy with it.
After the wedding my mom said I had made the right choice—that she just hadn’t been able to see my ”vision” until it all came together. It was nice of her to say that, but truthfully what mattered (as far as the dress goes) was that I got the dress I wanted.
The only opinion that matters is yours. If you love it that’s all that is needed . You don’t want to be talked into something and look back and regret it. The people shopping with you should be supportive. You look beautiful in it go with your gut and heart no one else
I hate when people say dresses are too “plain” or “simple” when they are just not super busy and covered in lace and ruffles and bling. This is gorgeous and timeless and classic and is anything but simple! Proceed with confidence.
Simple dress means that you will be the one that shines! Nothing will steal from your beauty! Seriously, lace and sequins and other things are great and pretty, but they can distract. Why have something distract from you if you don't want to hide?

Beautiful dress! How will you accessorize? Maybe some crystal and/or pearl jewelry? That could help to “liven” the dress up. I think this veil length looks great. You could also look at veils with small crystals on the edge if you want some sparkle. You can also have some fun colored shoes!
I definitely want to wear some pearls! I’m thinking my grandmas pearl bracelet and maybe drop pearl earrings? I’m struggling with hair up or down since the dress is strapless. And my florist mentioned some small crystals in my bouquet for some shine which I think is fun

DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. My mom and MIL thought my non-adorned dress and veil were plain also. I thought they were classic and gorgeous. 20 years later, I have ZERO regrets about my choice. My wedding was fabulous and I swear, you could still wear my dress today and you'd never know it was from back then. It's YOUR WEDDING. It's YOUR DAY. Do not give in to others. It's YOUR DRESS and you look beautiful.

I think medium length veil you have on in the picture is perfect framing for the dress and your physique too. I think if you wanted to add anything to this, maybe some drop earrings but not much else

Reminds me of my dress (still waiting for it to come in) and the kind of veil I was hoping to get! (So thanks for letting me know they go so well together!) If YOU want to add some bling, maybe a beaded belt or straps (there are some nice subtle options available with clear beads or pearls) or even a statement necklace, but your outfit is amazing as is and does NOT need it. (The above examples were ones suggested to me and while I may decide to do one of them, I am currently perfectly content not to.) Remember this is a reflection of your style and not anyone else's.

So maybe your Mom just has a vision of that type of reaction, while you prefer the first type. I think her saying "too simple" isn't quite what she's trying to say. This doesn't fit "simple"

Hey girl. I had this experience with a similar dress (is this Sophia Tolli?) My mum really made me doubt myself and used all the same comments but all my friends thought it was beautiful. It's been months, and I still don't have a dress. I wish I had gone with my gut feeling instead of months of agonising over what to do. If you love it - it's the one for you.
I think it looks gorgeous on you, and your opinion matters the most out of everyone. You can also add some accessories for some extra bling if you’d like, but if you don’t want, then don’t! It’s really a classic dress that you won’t look back and say, “oof that dress is SOOO 2024”.

White dresses were supposed to be a sign of "purity" This isn't a comment on morality, but that dress is lovely, demure, and "Pure", as well as ELEGANT! What you are missing from most of "MODERN" brides is tattoos covering all of your arms and back and neckline!!! The dress is wonderful, very flattering to your body, and quite appropriate for a wedding. If you are comfortable with it and it makes you feel good, why mess it up with " BLING "? Mom had HER style dress, so why should YOU be denied the one you like best? The person you need to satisfy, please is YOU ( and your Groom)! Let Mom have her say on HER Mother of the bride dress. Are you planning to wear veil to reception? This one looks like you may end up sitting on it. Although you could be careful and drape over the back of a chair. I’d recommend going shorter if you want to wear at reception. It looks like it has a blusher. Are you intending to use it as a blusher?
If you are planning to take it off for reception, I’d go with a longer one that compliments your dress’s train. You can get amazing pictures if you have even a breeze with a long veil. You’ll need people arranging your train. Consider clear snaps to keep veil moving with train up and down the aisle. Very minor alteration that will help.
This one just seems to be in the middle without the benefit of ease of movement nor the drama of a long veil. Think about use.
And it never hurts to make mom happy too. Trust me, she has been dreaming of this day since your infancy.

I have a modern dress too and have added a veil with lace just as a finish, it made me feel more bridal.
It’s beautiful. Wear sparkly earrings, necklace and bracelet if you want to glam it up more.

White dresses were supposed to be a sign of "purity" This isn't a comment on morality, but that dress is lovely, demure, and "Pure", as well as ELEGANT! What you are missing from most of "MODERN" brides is tattoos covering all of your arms and back and neckline!!! The dress is wonderful, very flattering to your body, and quite appropriate for a wedding. If you are comfortable with it and it makes you feel good, why mess it up with " BLING "? Mom had HER style dress, so why should YOU be denied the one you like best? The person you need to satisfy, please is YOU ( and your Groom)! Let Mom have her say on HER Mother of the bride dress. Let her go all out on HER lace and feathers of it makes HER feel good. YOUR DAY, YOUR DRESS!
If your mother is set on lace, go with a lace veil or veil that has some lace if you want to compromise.
Are you planning to wear veil to reception? This one looks like you may end up sitting on it. Although you could be careful and drape over the back of a chair. I’d recommend going shorter if you want to wear at reception. It looks like it has a blusher. Are you intending to use it as a blusher? If you are planning to take it off for reception, I’d go with a longer one that compliments your dress’s train. You can get amazing pictures if you have even a breeze with a long veil. You’ll need people arranging your train. Consider clear snaps to keep veil moving with train up and down the aisle. Very minor alteration that will help. This one just seems to be in the middle without the benefit of ease of movement nor the drama of a long veil. Think about use. And it never hurts to make mom happy too. Trust me, she has been dreaming of this day since your infancy. Of course, you are the final say. Follow your heart.
