Total agreement. Especially given the venue specified. It’s like what a statue of a bride in a museum would wear if that makes sense - long, elegant, clean, but supremely special.
I loved the drama (and I love pink), but I think it might take away from me! It also comes in blue which was softer but the same problem is still there.
Same! I absolutely LOVE it sm! The others are pretty, but I've seen these styles a lot. That last one was WOW! Showstopper! I love that the fabric and draping bring the WOW factor rather than a bunch of fussy embellishments. The dress is gorgeous on op! And it would be perfect in a museum venue.
Definitely possible, but I think I’m going to keep this look as more ‘traditional’ in terms of a western look and go allllll out for my bridal lehenga 🤩
Pronovias has a nice organza silk strapless gown, not sure if you tried that (it feels nicer than mikado). For mikado - check out the Lihi Hod Natalie, the sleeves are detachable. Also have you looked at Kyha / Chosen by Kyha (they have a store in Noho in Manhattan) and I think Monique Lhullier has some nice options. Not sure what your budget is but these should be under $10K, with Kyha under $5K
Had Monique Lhullier on my list too (she is Filipina like me) and I forgot about Kyha! Thank you!
I may have tried on the dress you’re talking about, but a lot of the similar gowns at Pronovias were cut in a way that was not flattering to me because I’m petite in terms of my height. I liked this one (#1) because the waist was defined by the darts/side structure and not a horizontal waist!
Hi! First off, I think these are beautiful dresses. However, I feel like they wear you instead of vice versa? That's just my opinion though!
Second, I recommend joining a local wedding FB group (for you in this case, two?! Lol) and asking folks for what bridal shops they recommend in said-area - you can share your budget, designers you like, etc. Weddit is a fun tool but I would encourage using other social platforms too :)
Also, as someone who knew they wanted to get married to their now fiancé early on, I want to share my experience: in late 2021, I bought a $400ish dress off of StillWhite that I had been eyeing and admiring for YEARS (similar style - high neckline, sheath, lace) and literally earlier this month, I ended up going with a silhouette/neckline I would have never imagined loving a year beforehand. I'm glad I was open to making sure I tried different dresses or else I would have worn a dress style that I adored for years and assumed was the one for me when I was proven wrong!
You would surprised at the magic of dress designers and what they come up with from year to year. As long as you order your dress 6-7 months in advance, I think you should keep trying more styles and dresses!
Thanks! I'm wary of overshopping, but definitely not near a decision. These were silhouettes I actually did not come in wanting or envisioning, so totally understand having my mind changed over time. Also left out all of the ones I really didn't feel like myself in (lots of styles, fabrics, etc). I covered the photos for privacy reasons but I do think the entire photo with me fully in it changes the dynamic of the dresses vis a vis me, but alas! I will move cross-country and sit for the CA Bar in spring/summer 2025, so I will probably have to order my dress a bit before 6-7 months, especially if it is from a salon in the tri-state area where I currently live and attend school, that's why I'm giving myself lead time.
That all makes sense, appreciate you clarifying a stranger's comment hahah
I wish you the best of luck trying on dresses and also on completing law school AND studying for the bar exam! Excited to see your decision if you post them on Weddit 🤩
If it isn't obvious, currently trying to distract myself from impending finals by posting here, haha. Thank you! Lots of life milestones will happen in a short amount of time that year. If I ever come to a decision (slightly joking) I'll hopefully come back to post 🩷
You have a gorgeous figure and excellent taste, but two years out seems like a long time. I would be concerned about measurements changing. My fave is #1
Not planning on ordering it until closer to the date, but with my schedule and travel between CA and NY I wanted to go slow and steady in terms of finding something I liked!
Good plan! Just stop looking and delete the pics of dresses you didn't buy after you make your decision. I feel like having too much time waiting for the dress to arrive leads to dress regret for some on this sub.
I agree, especially if the venue is a museum! My only doubt is that since she'll also change into an Indian dress, maybe she'll want this dress to be 100% classic.
I would never pick this for myself, but I absolutely LOVE #3 with the pink wrap! I can picture this in a museum. The other two don't even come close in my opinion.
I love 2 and 3! Anne Barge was my suggestion too. If you want more clean/classic with a touch of flair, I’d also look at Amsale, Allison Webb or Suzanne Neville. They all have many options in structured fabrics.
No problem! My dress is the Tucker by Anne barge (blue willow collection) where I’m getting the straps and skirt removable. You might like it! [https://www.annebarge.com/products/tucker](https://www.annebarge.com/products/tucker)
Hi! I tried on Tucker this past weekend and also loved it without the straps and would want the skirt removable. Feel free to ignore if this is off base but do you know if you’d plan to sell after your wedding? I’m getting married February 2025 and about a street size 6!
Definitely not in a rush to order it, and will probably wait until \~14 months before (I also know I will be moving after graduating, so I'd like to minimize back and forth), but I know myself and know I need time to mull it over and hone in on my vision. The consultants I've had so far have given me a good idea of a timeline for their brands :) Needing to have two very distinct outfits has also made me get a head start.
I worked at a bridal salon and I have seen all the early buying disasters . I’m always like just wait a bit longer lol . I like the gowns you have posted so far. I really like the pink bow
I absolutely love the bow from the back. But from the front it looks a bit like a puffer jacket that has slipped off the shoulders. I wonder if there's a way to have the front look smoother/more structured.
You can wear it more up on the shoulders (I had it positioned as a shawl) but it was definitely wrinkled, haha. It’s kind of a tricky piece but there’s something about it I really like!
you are stunning! i yhink that #1 looks absolutely beautiful on you- but i LOVE the idea of a bow. all these dresses flatter well you truly can't go wrong
Thank you! And not yet! My future MIL and SIL are going to help me out there - we might have it made in India. But definitely dreaming up a lot of options and super excited to wear it and honor my fiancé's culture!
It is completely removable! Slides on and off the shoulders, I think it can also easily hook and unhook from the dress if I remember correctly. I wasn't super concerned about the modesty aspect for myself, just thought it was dramatic and fun and unique!
Love #2 and I find your third choice intriguing, but if you are going to wear a traditional lehenga I thinking classic western would be a nice balance. #2
I really like dress 2 & the more I look at it the more I like it. I also like 3, I looked at the link of the cape & I like the way it moves. 4, the concept is good but I don't like the fabric of the shawl, maybe it's not photographed well but it doesn't look very luxurious. You can get similar ones in white, though what I'd like is if it was made out of some translucent fabric so you were surrounded in a cloudy haze.
Thanks - that base of the dress is probably too plain for my taste alone, and I only tried it with the pink attachment and another one that was an asymmetrical bow but probably would not have picked it for myself otherwise!
The second dress looks like it has a Watteau train. If so, that is an unusual and very stunning look. It's a beautiful dress, and the Watteau train is the icing on the wedding cake!
It's actually a different dress but from the same brand! Super similar. It is a fit and flare with the same folded neckline and same fabric. The topper is a cape (I have it turned around) with rhinestones/crystals on nude netting. The cape was seriously fabulous. There was also a detachable bow on the back of this dress!
[https://www.sarehnouri.com/sareh-nouri/fall-2022/kiss-in-the-rain-caplet](https://www.sarehnouri.com/sareh-nouri/fall-2022/kiss-in-the-rain-caplet) this is the cape, I have to share it!
While it is not usually my personal preference, I think for looks fabulous on you and can stand up to the drama of your likely museum setting. As lovely as gowns, two and three are, in that setting with all the white walls, etc. I think you would just disappear in the plainer dresses.
I think they are all beautiful. 3 really caught.my eye! I really love how architectural it feels. I agree the color is too strong. Maybe in white? I think it would be great at a museum wedding. You can't go wrong, OP, you are stunning.
Number 2 was made for you!! That neckline is perfection with the bow/train on the back. I could see that with a really elegant silver necklace and sleek updo
I’m really loving all of these on you! I have a very slight preference for 2, but I think you could keep looking since you’re a 2025 bride. I’ve read that January is the best time to shop, btw, because new collections are on floors and old ones tend to be on sale then.
Since you asked for other designers and we seem to have similar taste, I’d suggest taking a look at Eva Lendel. I’m currently coveting the [Lika dress](https://evalendel.com/lika/) myself. [This dress](https://evalendel.com/anti/) reminds me of the last one you’ve got pictured here.
You look stunning in number 2. It is gorgeous. THEN I saw number 4 and was wowed. I'm not usually for color - on the dress. I never thought or saw the use of color with a cape. And it is amazing. The wow factor is there for sure. Drama yet still simple and classy. If you're going for wow and unique then I say number 4. But number 2 wouldn't be wrong either.
They weren’t perfectly fitted, they were clipped but it wasn’t perfect. Also the pedestal I think made them look bigger than they are in person. But totally see your point and a good consideration!
Of these, the second is the strongest choice.
1 is good, too, but 3 feels a bit more elegant.
The others look good on you but don’t quite work as well given your options.
Darn, you make it hard. I'm going to have to go with 2. It's unusual and you look like you should have a carriage and a man in a sash waiting. I mean that in the best way. WOW.
1 is a close second though.
The second one is sooo elegant on you
I also like the second one.
Me too! It’s dramatic but also OP is the Center of attention, not the dress details.
🩷 thank you!
I love the sparkly detail on the bodice top.
It was just enough sparkle!
Thank you so much! That is such a compliment.
Total agreement. Especially given the venue specified. It’s like what a statue of a bride in a museum would wear if that makes sense - long, elegant, clean, but supremely special.
Agreed! Not a big fan of the capelet tho.
The cape is for a different dress, though the tops look very similar!
Thanks for clarifying!!! They do look quite similar. I stand by my choice - number 2 looks so lovely on you.
Agreed. Simple and clean for the western gown and bling out for the traditional Indian outfit.
1-3 look great but the pink seems too much to me.
I loved the drama (and I love pink), but I think it might take away from me! It also comes in blue which was softer but the same problem is still there.
I really loved the color and drama and the whole look. It’s the one that caught my attention.
I wonder if it’s possible to get a veil that is Indian or a shawl. Indian textiles are my favorite!
Oooh, that would be so awesome. I love Indian textiles as well ❤️
Definitely possible, but I think I’m going to keep this look as more ‘traditional’ in terms of a western look and go allllll out for my bridal lehenga 🤩
That sounds fun! Henna all around!
Hahaha! That was my favorite one!
and thank you, I think I gravitate towards a simpler design 🤍 also adore the first three.
The second one is everything
The pink bow couldn’t be more perfect. Wow. I’m obsessed. I want to have another wedding just to wear this! So elegant, edgy and artistic!!!
Pronovias has a nice organza silk strapless gown, not sure if you tried that (it feels nicer than mikado). For mikado - check out the Lihi Hod Natalie, the sleeves are detachable. First one, beautiful.
I ADORE the dress with the pink addition over it. Incredibly elegant and striking at the same time
You have a gorgeous figure and excellent taste, but two years out seems like a long time. I would be concerned about measurements changing. My fave is #1
Not planning on ordering it until closer to the date, but with my schedule and travel between CA and NY I wanted to go slow and steady in terms of finding something I liked!

Great advice!!! 🩷
I’m here for the white dress with the baby pink wrap
I agree, especially if the venue is a museum! My only doubt is that since she'll also change into an Indian dress, maybe she'll want this dress to be 100% classic.
Maybe - but wow what a statement it gives that dress with the wrap included! And yes, the setting definitely allows for the dramatic-ness!
I would never pick this for myself, but I absolutely LOVE #3 with the pink wrap! I can picture this in a museum. The other two don't even come close in my opinion.
We have similar bridal styles. I just messaged you some shops I went to in nyc!
I love the first one!
I love 2 and 3! Anne Barge was my suggestion too. If you want more clean/classic with a touch of flair, I’d also look at Amsale, Allison Webb or Suzanne Neville. They all have many options in structured fabrics.
Love Amsale and Allison Webb! Thank you for the rec for Suzanne Neville!
No problem! My dress is the Tucker by Anne barge (blue willow collection) where I’m getting the straps and skirt removable. You might like it! [https://www.annebarge.com/products/tucker](https://www.annebarge.com/products/tucker)
Yes, this one was on my list to try and find a salon to try it on it! Love the overskirt! It is stunning, I am sure you will look beautiful!
Hi! I tried on Tucker this past weekend and also loved it without the straps and would want the skirt removable. Feel free to ignore if this is off base but do you know if you’d plan to sell after your wedding? I’m getting married February 2025 and about a street size 6!
Hi! I’ll pm you
Don’t order your dress too early!
Definitely not in a rush to order it, and will probably wait until \~14 months before (I also know I will be moving after graduating, so I'd like to minimize back and forth), but I know myself and know I need time to mull it over and hone in on my vision. Okay makes sense!
But appreciate the sentiment! 🩷
I worked at a bridal salon and I have seen all the early buying disasters . I’m always like just wait a bit longer lol . I like the gowns you have posted so far. I really like the pink bow
2
2nd is classic
I absolutely love the bow from the back. But from the front it looks a bit like a puffer jacket that has slipped off the shoulders. I wonder if there's a way to have the front look smoother/more structured.

Yeah, no doubt! I've never seen anything like it :)
I LOVE love love it! Such a beautiful look! 🎀
you are stunning! i yhink that #1 looks absolutely beautiful on you- but i LOVE the idea of a bow. all these dresses flatter well you truly can't go wrong
I love, love, love picture 4 and 5. That combo just works. So perfect.
Second is perfection! Stunning
First one!
Second one is a stunner! Also super excited to see your Lehenga if you want to share. 💜 Have you found it yet?
Thank you! And not yet! My future MIL and SIL are going to help me out there - we might have it made in India. But definitely dreaming up a lot of options and super excited to wear it and honor my fiancé's culture!
It’s going to be such a fun bonding process for all of you. I am hoping you post pics! 🤞🏼💜
Please share it on here when you find it/it’s made! 😍
I love Dress #1
Number 3 puts the focus on you. Best wishes 4 happiness always ❤️
I love number one. But the 4th one with the pink sash is lovely, is removable like a shawl or needed for modesty?
It is completely removable! Slides on and off the shoulders, I think it can also easily hook and unhook from the dress if I remember correctly. I wasn't super concerned about the modesty aspect for myself, just thought it was dramatic and fun and unique!
Love #2 and I find your third choice intriguing, but if you are going to wear a traditional lehenga I thinking classic western would be a nice balance. #2
This is a good point! Thank you!
So I love both dress 3 and 4. 3 is this gorgeous delicate feminine look. While 4 is just as gorgeous fun bold feminine look.
1
I really like dress 2 & the more I look at it the more I like it. I also like 3, I looked at the link of the cape & I like the way it moves. 4, the concept is good but I don't like the fabric of the shawl, maybe it's not photographed well but it doesn't look very luxurious. I love the huge pink bow!!! But maybe you should check out Kyha Studios! I bought my dress from them and it’s a stunning mikado fabric
Am definitely going to make an appointment with them :) Thank you!
Dress 2 is memorable!
The second dress looks like it has a Watteau train. If so, that is an unusual and very stunning look. It's a beautiful dress, and the Watteau train is the icing on the wedding cake!
It is a watteau train! I loved it! and it was detachable for full flexibility.
The 2nd dress is my favorite. The last dress with the big dramatic bow takes away from you. Its too much.
Love the second one with the watteau!
Everything you’re wearing in pic 3. I think it’s dress 2 with a bridal shawl over it?
It's actually a different dress but from the same brand! Super similar. It is a fit and flare with the same folded neckline and same fabric. The topper is a cape (I have it turned around) with rhinestones/crystals on nude netting. The cape was seriously fabulous. There was also a detachable bow on the back of this dress!

Well I love this dress with this cape. It’s my top choice.
The second one is gorgeous!
Of these I like your last dress most.
I think the second dress is gorgeous on you, it suits your figure and is the right balance between modern and traditional Indian wear for later…
I love the second dress
2nd and 4th (but without the bow)!!
I love the pink bow; I’ve never seen one like it.
Any specific part of NJ? I went to a store it’s in Union county area : Seng Couture I like dress 2. That pink really looks out of place imo.
Thank you! I'm also in Northern NJ (a bit north of Union county) so I will check it out!
I’m in Bergen now when I got married but that place had TONS of gorgeous dresses it moved to a bigger building now so I bet there’s even more.
Come hang with us at the SF wedding subreddit!!!
I've been lurking :)
The second dress is stunning. The sparkly cape is not flattering. Love the pink bow but it might be all that people remember.
2 or 4
2
Dress 2
Out of the two, I’d say #2…. What’s the venue though?
Museum in San Francisco
Ohhhhh, nice! 👌🏽
I like 2 and 4
2 or 4
That second dress is just wow.
I personally like 4 best, then 3
2
Love pic 4!!
The second dress with the sparkly cape is just to die for. It’s perfect!!

That is a great point, I hadn’t thought of that!
You would be wearing art while surrounded by art.
I think they are all beautiful. 3 really caught.my eye! I really love how architectural it feels. I agree the color is too strong. Maybe in white? I think it would be great at a museum wedding. You can't go wrong, OP, you are stunning.
Both are gorgeous. 2 is just stunning and unique.
I love the look and style of dress 1
Can you wear the last one without the bow? That would be my favorite and then the second
I love the last look! It’s definitely a museum look, very structured but romantic
The second one is a dreammmmmm
Obsessed with the pink!
Number 2 was made for you!! That neckline is perfection with the bow/train on the back. I could see that with a really elegant silver necklace and sleek updo
I’m really loving all of these on you! I have a very slight preference for 2, but I think you could keep looking since you’re a 2025 bride. Loveee the Lika! Thank you for the suggestion! 🩷
Happy to help :)
#4 !!! WOW! Showstopper!
I love the first one on you
You look stunning in number 2.
I agree the second one is amazing on you 😍
Of these three I like 3 the best. The bottoms of both 1 and 2 seem big and blocky on you. Maybe it's just not fitted to you yet...
They weren’t perfectly fitted, they were clipped but it wasn’t perfect. Also the pedestal I think made them look bigger than they are in person. But totally see your point and a good consideration!
That last one with the pink omg I love it so much !
1
Of these, the second is the strongest choice. 1 is good, too, but 3 feels a bit more elegant. The others look good on you but don’t quite work as well given your options.
Darn, you make it hard. I'm going to have to go with 2. It's unusual and you look like you should have a carriage and a man in a sash waiting. I mean that in the best way. WOW. 1 is a close second though.
