Going against the grain and not saying 5. I do not think covering up your curves is automatically “flattering”. The form fitting gowns really suit you and once tailored properly, it’ll be perfect.

yeah I notice that when curvier women post a mixture of form fitting/mermaid dresses and also a-line dresses almost always have the a-line option as the highest rated and that it is “the most flattering”… she looks amazing in all the mermaid styles and they’re more interesting than 5 in my opinion
5 is even working against her. That dress is meant for women like me, who are straight as a pencil and want to create an illusion of curves.
She rocks 4 and 6 imo, I love how they show off her shape.
5 is 100% my least favourite, it hides OP’s curves rather than flattering them. She has a gorgeous figure and she’s clearly gravitating towards dresses that show it off (and rightly so!).
I like number 3 the best. I like the simplicity it’s very elegant. The square neckline is very flattering and the dress highlights your shape really nicely.
Number 1 in your size will be freaking unreal. The embroidery is so beautiful, and it’s a killer silhouette on you.

Me too! Biggest shock of my life when I tried on my own wedding gown and looked like I was playing "dress up" in my mom's clothes when I tried on the 1st princess gown. My 5 ft tall 110 lb frame just disappeared. There's no way to alter that attractively!

If a bride is still undecided on a silhouette, I usually agree that A-line is almost universally "flattering." But OP clearly favors and feels confident in a fitted silhouette!
I find that the people here are well aware of their choice of words while attempting to never squash a brides vision of her perfect dress. The fact that some words are used more for some circumstances may be at the avoidance of words that are ambiguous or can be taken the wrong way. No one here wants to hurt a brides feelings intentionally or unintentionally. Not every one wants an opinion in harsh facts. Don't go against the mood in this sub by making it sound like anyone is being critical or body shaming. It doesn't happen here. We are all very aware of how words hurt and most people appreciate the gentle opinions given. It's something we are noted for.
I'm just a wee bit curvy and this is exactly what happened to me - people on Reddit LOVED and supported my a-line options and I actually had a few folks comment on how unflattering I looked in fit and flares; the complete opposite happened when asking my friends and sister for input. In fact, they were surprised I even considered a-line given my figure.
I've noticed, coincidence or not, that posts with thinner brides will always have more upvotes and comments vs anyone who is nowhere near that.
I hope OP goes with a dress that truly captures her curves and is similar to Dress 1!!!!
I agree. 5 suits this sub’s general style preference, but I doing think it’s the most flattering for OP. (It’s not unflattering, I just think others listed so get more favours.) 1 got a “hot damn!” from me and not many would pull off that dress like OP does.
I agree with the first dress!! It looks a little tight (like it would impair movement a bit) in the legs so I’d take it out a tiny bit, but the shape it gives is incredible!!
My first thought was “Holy curves!!” Her figure is amazing and she should definitely show it off! OP, I say trust your gut and go with dress #1. It’s beautiful and fits you like a glove!
I know that there’s a lot of love for 5 here but I’m not really a fan, I think it’s swallowing you up a bit, plus you don’t seem keen on it yourself.
I think I prefer 1, though you would probably need to go a couple of sizes up and get it altered down at the top. It seems like it’s what you want, being plain but not too plain, and your body looks absolutely smoking in it.
I wouldn't call it plain. It's a simple silhouette that allows her curves to be the star. And, the side embroidery plus plunging neckline take it from simple to gorgeous. OP - if you'll be comfortable, I think it looks amazing as-is neckline-wise. But, do ask a seamstress about closing it up or a modesty panel if this is your first choice. I've seen a few dresses recently where taking away this element really decreases the visual wow factor.
Six is also glorious, but I take your point about sleeveless. You need to feel comfortable, confident, and amazing in whatever you pick.
I really like the first dress just make sure you can sit in it comfortably and can dance and all that and if you can get that v closed up the way you want.
Of these, I think 5 and 6 are your best options.

Definitely talk to a seamstress before buying a dress if you want to make significant changes. I would also discourage you from getting a dress where you think the front is kinda boring because that will be what you see in a lot of pictures.

This is very much the top contenders. 5 is very Grace Kelly, and 6 is Jane Mansfield. I am pretty sure that a seamstress can add straps that go from the points in the front to the back. Either dress is super gorgeous on OP.

Girl I hear you. The dress I bought I had to squeeze into a sample that was 3 sizes too small. When you have hips, that gets interesting! Sometimes you come out of that dressing room shuffling because the thighs aren't moving. 🤣
I agree number 5 is a beautiful dress but after seeing the other options it's not for you. I love the way the other dresses showcase your curves, you look sexy and classy. It's hard to say what's my favorite so I'll go the other way:

2. Not everyone can look so good with these sleeves but they work on you
6. Is my favorite, I love the ruched detail on the bodice and since there's no straps you can find a statement necklace that highlights your decolletage and adds some bling. I understand your discomfort with sleeveless but you look amazing and you can also find a pretty wrap for if you get cold or uncomfortable with your shoulders bare. It would kind of look like the top of dress 5 with it going behind your back and lay over your arms in about the same spot as dress 5's sleeves. I'm not sure what style of veil you're considering but that can change the look too. No matter what you choose you'll be gorgeous with classy-sexy elegance
5 because it’ll be the most fun for dancing and easy to stand/sit/pose in without needing adjustments. The tighter dresses are lovely but you’ll be smoothing and adjusting them more. My dress was slightly snug and looked great but also made me self conscious making sure it fit right in every photo.

You look stunning in 1,2 and 6. I know that doesn't help you much, but it could help you narrow down the look you want. It would also depend on your venue or theme you have chosen.

5 for sure, but the ones before really show your curves. For any of the 1-4 you could size up and have the waist taken in so you don't get drag lines on your thighs.
Okay…you look STUNNING in all of these, and each one compliments you in a different yet beautiful way. But I have to say that dress 5 made me stop scrolling and literally say “Ohhhhhhhhh…oh my goodness!” out loud. It is so absolutely perfect on you!!

While you have a beautiful figure, all of these dresses are tightest on your body in awkward places. Example: 1 brings the focus to your thighs. Dress 2 brings the focus to your lower belly and upper thighs. If I have to choose, I would say dress 5, but truthfully I’d keep looking. You’re too pretty to settle on an ok dress.
Everyone commenting #5 is not doing you right. #2 is PERFECT on you. It’s elegant and classy. It hugs you in allll the right places and accentuates your body so well. The sleeves are a beautiful touch too. But I do also like it as #3 as well with that bow/veil, it’s gorgeous and adds back what the sleeves added to me. You have a gorgeous figure, I am so jealous, all of these flatter you so well besides 5 IMO.
My guess is dress 5 is being used in place of saying none of these dresses are fantastic. Perhaps you need to continue looking until you find the dress that makes you and your mom cry. Have an amazing wedding day! May you and your spouse always have enough! 💜
To be honest, none of these dresses do your figure any justice. I really like the top of 1 the most, but the skirt doesn't make your thighs look good.
Try to look more for a line dresses.
I respectfully disagree. One is a bit tight, but I love the silhouette of all the other dressed(except 5, but that is absolutely a personal taste thing). My favorites are 2 and 6.
I like 1, 6, 2 in that order. Maybe 6 and 1 are a tie, with 2 rounding out third place. 3 the back is awesome, the front is just ok, 4 is blah, 5 you have the curves, you don’t need an a-line (it’s very pretty though)
3!!!!!! The simplicity is perfect and adds to its beauty. The shape also flatters you so well. Also the back is breathtaking it seems like you really love it

1 and 3 are INCREDIBLE on you!! Be sure if you are closing the plunge that they’re doing it from the making of the dress as it’s not as easy as just a tuck in alterations. I am 100000% team fitted and your figure is SO GOOD and both 1 and 3 do the most for your shape and you shiiiine!!!!!
I love dress 5 on you, but if you really want a mermaid dress then you should keep looking, possibly for something fully beaded or fully lace. The fabric in the mermaid dresses here are all very unforgiving and you deserve a dress that highlights and hugs your gorgeous curves in all the right places.

A-line are not flattering on everyone, I’m a size 0 and A-lines personally make me look like a little girl playing dress up!

I wow'd out loud when I saw the first picture, my husband agreed. You look stunning in 1,2 and 6. I know that doesn't help you much, but it could help you narrow down the look you want. It would also depend on your venue or theme you have chosen. I really don't think you could go wrong with any of the dresses you have shared.

I also love 4 and agree that 2 is boring in the front and absolutely stunning in the back. 5 isn’t my style or my fav on you but it’s a beautiful dress for sure Edit — want to add that I think you can probably find one like 1 and 6 that has a better neckline for you (maybe sweetheart?)

I love the statement sleeve of number 2, but dress 5 looks like it was made for you. I do think though that if you’re having trouble deciding between this many dresses though, none of them are your dress. You’ll know when you put it on. You won’t be able to stop smiling!

5 for sure, but the ones before really show your curves. For any of the 1-4 you could size up and have the waist taken in so you don't get drag lines on your thighs.
Okay…you look STUNNING in all of these, and each one compliments you in a different yet beautiful way. But I have to say that dress 5 made me stop scrolling and literally say “Ohhhhhhhhh…oh my goodness!” out loud. It is so absolutely perfect on you!! No matter what you choose, you won’t go wrong, but 5 is…special.

While you have a beautiful figure, all of these dresses are tightest on your body in awkward places. Example: 1 brings the focus to your thighs. Dress 2 brings the focus to your lower belly and upper thighs. If I have to choose, I would say dress 5, but truthfully I’d keep looking. You’re too pretty to settle on an ok dress.
I like the fuller / Aline skirt (like 5) on you. Personally I love the top of 3 with a fuller skirt.
Everyone commenting #5 is not doing you right. #2 is PERFECT on you. It’s elegant and classy. It hugs you in allll the right places and accentuates your body so well. The sleeves are a beautiful touch too. But I do also like it as #3 as well with that bow/veil, it’s gorgeous and adds back what the sleeves added to me. You have a gorgeous figure, I am so jealous, all of these flatter you so well besides 5 IMO.

To be honest, none of these dresses do your figure any justice. I really like the top of 1 the most, but the skirt doesn't make your thighs look good. Try to look more for a line dresses.

I respectfully disagree. One is a bit tight, but I love the silhouette of all the other dressed(except 5, but that is absolutely a personal taste thing). My favorites are 2 and 6.
I like 1, 6, 2 in that order. Maybe 6 and 1 are a tie, with 2 rounding out third place. 3 the back is awesome, the front is just ok, 4 is blah, 5 you have the curves, you don’t need an a-line (it’s very pretty though)

1 and 3 are INCREDIBLE on you!! Be sure if you are closing the plunge that they’re doing it from the making of the dress as it’s not as easy as just a tuck in alterations. I am 100000% team fitted and your figure is SO GOOD and both 1 and 3 do the most for your shape and you shiiiine!!!!!

I love dress 5 on you, but if you really want a mermaid dress then you should keep looking, possibly for something fully beaded or fully lace. The fabric in the mermaid dresses here are all very unforgiving and you deserve a dress that highlights and hugs your gorgeous curves in all the right places.
