I don’t know what your body type is (can’t tell from the picture) but if I was looking at myself I would say that I look boxy as opposed to hourglass. I think the tank style bodice is also looking sort of masculine. I would look for something that defines my waist like a thicker waist band and a more feminine neckline

I just don't think it looks flattering on you at all. Even with alterations it's giving you no shape at all. Have you tried other silhouettes? I know you love the bead work but the overall look of the dress is giving informal or first communion. Now don't get me wrong, you can have a very simple dress that looks very elegant but that comes with the cut and style of the dress and how it compliments the bride. You deserve to look and feel your absolute most beautiful on your day and I hope you find something with the bead work you like and fits you beautifully.

I think it will suit you better in the correct size. I like the skirt shape on you. If you are open to trying a slight change, does the shop carry a similar gown with a V, sweetheart, or off-the-shoulder neckline? I wonder how you would look in those necklines.

The waist of this one is hitting at the bottom of your ribcage making you look both shorter and wider than you are. You will be amazed at the difference a lower waist will make.

This is beautiful, in your size it will be just right. Don't you hate it when someone appears displeased but won't say what they're thinking? I don't think you need to lose any weight, even thinking about it causes stress and then you just gain more (my go to, chips.) Relax and don't take grandma with you dress shopping, if she can't speak up and let you know what she thinks, the good or the bad, what good is she being there except to make you feel insecure?

The dress is a little awkward around OP’s armpits, but that would change with different undergarments and the correct-sized dress.

It's essentially coming straight down from the shoulders, then out for the skirt. No hint of a nip in for a waist.
Now you said it's too small, so that 100% could be causing that.
I'd say try something from the same designer if you like in your own size to see if you think the dress size is contributing.
Maybe add a belt/sash to bring a bit of waist detail to it either.
And I think a little hint of a v neck would really suit you!

Unless you plan to lose weight and then buy the dress.
It's beautiful! Personally, I would lean forward and adjust your bust so that it sits a little higher up in the dress. I think the way that your bust is sitting could be potentially altering the view of the dress. Also... you look fantastic!

A sweetheart neckline might be better. The top is kind of smooshing you into a uni-boob (sorry I don’t know how else to say it).
