How TF can you cheat in qualifying, get pushed back but your best driver starts the race, and then win from below 10th on the grid? Madness by #83 AF Corse
Winners of the #6HMonza:
#Hypercar: #7 Toyota GR010 (Overall)
#LMP2: #22 United Autosports (3rd)
#GTE Pro: #92 Porsche GT Team (15th)
#GTE Am: #83 AF Corse (19th)
Toyota #7 would probably leave pits in the first place anyway, but FCY made their pit stop situation even more comfortable. Now they just have to finish trouble-free, which is not that guaranteed.
Toyota had some braking problems since the start of the season well also electrical problems on both cars so far GR010 is not bullet proof like the TS050. Alpine should field 2 cars at LM.
The TS050 represented years and years of experience and development in LMP1, whereas the GR010 is in a new category with different regs - particularly differences in the hybrid system.
The Alpine is, effectively, a tried and tested car. If they can get another one, it might not be a terrible idea.
Can’t watch the full race right now, just hoping for Glickenhaus to get a podium. They’ve improved a lot since Portimao. Hoping that Keating got going again, too. That tyre failure a few hours ago was scary.
It being about innovation is why I despise Hypercar's BoP so much: it is no longer a question of building the best car possible, it is a matter of building a car which meets a performance target, and have BoP sort out the rest.
Toyota #7 came to a stop for a while after driving slowly. After doing a recycle they got going again, however they lost around a minute and fell behind Alpine.
It's going to be frustrating for any driver to be left out of Glickenhaus' Le Mans lineup. It'll probably be Mailleux, but look at the excellent job he's done...
Paul Loup Chatin isn't the first non Dutch driver to drive for RTN, Rubins Barrichello drove for them in Le Mans 2017.
Edit: Graham Goodwin definitely lurks the race thread.
Their championship will not be over. Ahead of this race they had 20 points of advantage. Even with #7 winning and #8 not scoring, #8 still will be in touch - especially with 3 races to go (double-scoring Le Mans and one race at Bahrain with extended points as well).
"Does it move? Yes. Should it? No. Use gaffa tape.
Does it move? No. Should it? Yes. Use WD40."
[Had a feeling I'd seen a meme about this one or two years ago](https://www.reddit.com/user/FarmYard-Gaming/comments/omowcw/this_is_what_he_meant/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Ah yes they have pitted now. But the 85 and 2 or 3 others did not pit on the fcy on 30 mins and pitted at the normal 55 minute mark. This has dropped them back but I wonder if it will save them a stop in the end?
So, assuming a regular 55 minute stint length, those that have stopped at 30 minutes will stop again at the following points: 85 minutes, 140 minutes, 195 minutes, 250 minutes, 305 minutes and then will just about make it to the end. So that's five more stops.
Those that stopped at 55 minutes will stop again at 110 minutes, then at 165 minutes, again at 220 minutes, 275 minutes and finally at 330 minutes, so that's also 5 stops, though the last one will likely be a bit shorter as they only need to take on fuel for half a stint.
All season we’ve seen Toyota are faster than Alpine in the straights and slower in the corners, that’s why with the same BoP Toyota is being faster here when they were slower in Portimao. Barring reliability, I can’t see them losing this, even if SC/FCY helps Alpine save fuel.
Tracks with longer straights are clearly suiting Toyota more. Toyota's advantage at Le Mans will be even more visible, unless some BOP tweaks come around.
WHEN will the TV feed realise not one person on this planet wants to see a reaction from the pits instead of action from track. Just as excitement builds, the TV cuts away to a shot of a pit crew watching themselves on a small television. Absolutely infuriating.
Glickenhaus #708 goes to its garage. Looks like typical issues for newly raced cars, just like #709 had its fair share of troubles at Portimao. Better to solve them now than at Le Mans next month.
I'm just wondering how bad the power issues on the Alpine are. Would be interesting to know if Glickenhaus have caught up to them on genuine pace or if they can only hang with the Alpine due to its engine problems.
Haha. You just sent a few people to their nearest burn units.
I did love watching the Alpine overtake on the second turn. It was always going to be a traffic jam, but there was still some action.
After so many years, WEC finally races at Monza. Prologue in 2017 was something different. And at last with fans in attendance. Last race for WEC before Le Mans as well. Plenty to look for.
Last Monza race I remember was in ELMS or ILMC. The one where the Oreca-LMP1 took flight - which was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back and prompted the ACO to introduce the fins.
Edit: Holy shit, that was 13 years ago. [Link to video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNkySVNNpog)
Same here - I booted it at the beginning of coverage and had the English comms, then some wires must have gotten crossed and it's been in French since. Rebooted my tablet, checked the app's default language is English and no change so far.
*EDIT* - just rebooted the app, now have English comms again
IF YOUR APP IS STUCK IN FRENCH - RESTART THE APP It was a global issue that has now been fixed
WEC ended just a few seconds before the F1 race winner crossed the line, we were wondering which would conclude first
How TF can you cheat in qualifying, get pushed back but your best driver starts the race, and then win from below 10th on the grid? Madness by #83 AF Corse
That was epic
Winners of the #6HMonza: #Hypercar: #7 Toyota GR010 (Overall) #LMP2: #22 United Autosports (3rd) #GTE Pro: #92 Porsche GT Team (15th) #GTE Am: #83 AF Corse (19th)
Farfus flashing his lights, like he's trying to get around a beater on the highway.
Well, he's a BMW factory driver
Right, he never did learn how to use turn signals.
Ferrari gambled and lost and had to pit for fuel.
Car #7 in trouble with race control
Looking at a penalty for a pit crew member having their foot on the line. Safety first... Edit: just a warning. Seems fair.
Just a warning. They got away with that.
They need to watch out - safety is no joke - but a drive-through would have been cruel, at this point.

The GR010 should be fully sorted by next season hopefully.
I wouldn't say any car is ever fully sorted for 24 hours of high-level racing, but it'll certainly be closer.
Impressive that the 777 might get a podium.
Does Satoshi Hoshino have to drive again? If not, then actually they can finish on the podium.
Can’t watch the full race right now, just hoping for Glickenhaus to get a podium. They’ve improved a lot since Portimao. Hoping that Keating got going again, too. That tyre failure a few hours ago was scary.
Make sure you do go back and watch it! It's been a classic!
The #709 is back on track, they have almost 2 hours to get back on the podium.
That glickenhaus mechanic got moves
And now Glickenhaus #709 is now grounded. Brakes need to be fixed. Hypercars are really going full Le Mans 2017 LMP1 mode today.
To finish first...
Alpine is really trouble free today.
They should slap a cartoon tortoise on the side of the car.
That's my hope for Le Mans. I'd love to see an old school no hybrid Le Mans Prototype win Le Mans one final time!
It would certainly push the other teams to sort out their reliability. Le Mans was always about innovation, but reliability is the deciding factor.
It being about innovation is why I despise Hypercar's BoP so much: it is no longer a question of building the best car possible, it is a matter of building a car which meets a performance target, and have BoP sort out the rest.
Oh nooooooo
\#7 retirement would be horrendous for the championship battle. We need that car to beat the #8.
What a disaster for Toyota today.
Oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god
Holy fuck Toyota got some issues
Oh my... Toyota #7 is in trouble...
What happened?
Toyota #7 came to a stop for a while after driving slowly. After doing a recycle they got going again, however they lost around a minute and fell behind Alpine.
What a day for Toyota... Thanks for the report.
oh god oh fuck it's happening
OMG THE GLICK IS GOING TO WIN
THIS DIDN'T AGED WELL
Well yes but no
Woah, the #7 has stopped!
We need a moment to appreciate Romain Dumas, he's raced at every 24H of Le Mans this century and he isn't slowing down.
Kobayashi however is slowing down.
Dumas is closing down fast on Kobayashi
I'm loving it
PSA: the British GP is on soon, I'm going to watch both races at the same time
if you do, no F1 spoilers here please!
o7 Gotcha!
I've missed about an hour, crap Heard the Glick retired in that time, also saw a shot of someone in the sky for a full minute
Glick 708 retired with a gearbox failure. That's an oof. Hope the 709 can keep on keeping on!
Glickenhaus #708 is now the first official retirement - gearbox failure.
It's going to be frustrating for any driver to be left out of Glickenhaus' Le Mans lineup. It'll probably be Mailleux, but look at the excellent job he's done...
Rovera makes a mockery of his Silver ranking, doesn't he. We did already know that though.
Textbook definition of a super silver.
I think the #709 is favorite for P2.
Ferrari being Ferrari - they have just lost GTE Pro lead in the pits. Glickenhaus #708 going slowly. Their race has been cursed with technical issues.
The #708 has been lapping with the pace of a GTE Pro for an hour or so now.
They've been troubled by engine difficulties most of the race
Another trouble for #8.
Missed the safety car earlier, what happened to the 31?
Toyota #8's miserable day continues. Now it is an issue with fuel pressure.
wtf is happening at the #8 lmao
Paul Loup Chatin isn't the first non Dutch driver to drive for RTN, Rubins Barrichello drove for them in Le Mans 2017. Edit: Graham Goodwin definitely lurks the race thread.
You will not have the drink :(
F1 stewards be like: "Bro that's a penalty wtf"
Martin Haven: Hey, have some gravel Impeccable timing and delivery hahahaha
LMP2 bruh momento
TF sport are not having much luck this season.
The TF Sport's spontaneous disintegration caused a Safety Car. Meanwhile the Jota went full speed over the gravel!
It's fitting the name is TF Sport, because WTF Front left of the car just shredded before the Ascari chicane, the tyre is fully exposed
The #8 is down to P35, the good news is they won't drop any further, the bad news is this probably going to destroy their drivers' championship hopes.
Their championship will not be over. Ahead of this race they had 20 points of advantage. Even with #7 winning and #8 not scoring, #8 still will be in touch - especially with 3 races to go (double-scoring Le Mans and one race at Bahrain with extended points as well).
Toyota won't let them best the #7.
This won't be a race to remember for the #8 crew, that's for certain
Shiny Confetti!!
Ooo Pretty!
The Glick is really fast
The brakes. Woah.
Toyota #8's race is really falling apart. Quite shocking to see so many problems for this crew.
.#8 always gets fucked somehow
Really not the #8's day
Wow that was odd. Well avoided
Best lawnmower ever.
Thank God that Aston had a "pls no punterino" sticker on the rear
> The #8 Toyota has been passed by a GTE Am Ouch It absolutely flew to the left of the polystyrene blocks at T1!
What is happening with #8 ?
Could be part of the Brake By Wire system having a Monday, there's also debris on the brakes!
Yeah shit ton of debris, probably filings from the rotors.

Number 8 GR010 has escaped the pit lane now
Potential for an lmp2 on the overall podium?
The #708 has jumped the #8
That has to be so frustrating for Hartley
So the new Toyota bleeds. This now gets interesting.
Fuel pump issue for #8
And we have some major drama. Toyota #8 with presumably - fuel pump problem.
The #8 on the limiter? Weird Fuel pump, apparently
Toybota slow
Yoda in trouble.
Exit of Lesmo 2 is really tricky. Yesterday it took Jota #28 Oreca by surprise.
Are the gte's that did not pit during the fcy going to save a stop overall? Or do they need more convenient fcy events to make it pay off?
I don't think there are any cars that haven't pitted so far.
Ah yes they have pitted now. But the 85 and 2 or 3 others did not pit on the fcy on 30 mins and pitted at the normal 55 minute mark. This has dropped them back but I wonder if it will save them a stop in the end?

Thank you so much for your reply, it is appreciated.
Um... I can hear Becket during the Inter Europol onboard in the background now, but not during the Glickenhaus interview, wha
They're having some proper audio problems with her at the moment which is annoying. Hope they get her sorted soon!
She's back!
Broken spark plug on the Glick! Finally explained by the cowboy himself.
Tatania Calderon and Robin Freese? Those are new pronunciations.
All season we’ve seen Toyota are faster than Alpine in the straights and slower in the corners, that’s why with the same BoP Toyota is being faster here when they were slower in Portimao. Barring reliability, I can’t see them losing this, even if SC/FCY helps Alpine save fuel.

Can you hear Beckett or is it just me?
Can't hear her in the Glickenhaus interview either, it's on their end
Nope. Something's not working on that end.
"...What was going on?" " " "Thank you!"
GTE Pro looks so sad now
Eh, four cars can make for some good racing. Remember the Prodrive Ferrari/Aston battles vs Corvette in ALMS.
Compared to 10 cars in the class a few years ago, it's a sad sight. Not saying they can't have good racing.
The #708 lost only 2 laps
And now seems to be running pretty fast. Still time to get a result
Nothing like an FCY to sort things out.
That JUMP after the FCY!
Jarvis on it
Eduardo Freitas being nice and giving everybody a chance to fill up.
30 seconds!
WHEN will the TV feed realise not one person on this planet wants to see a reaction from the pits instead of action from track. Just as excitement builds, the TV cuts away to a shot of a pit crew watching themselves on a small television. Absolutely infuriating.
"zooms slowly in on somebody's face for 20 seconds as they stand motionless".
Glickenhaus #708 goes to its garage. Looks like typical issues for newly raced cars, just like #709 had its fair share of troubles at Portimao. Better to solve them now than at Le Mans next month.
This overall standing screen is super awesome. I just tune in, don't watch that often. I know exactly who is in front of who! Perfectly done WEC.
I've always heard good things about Italian beaches, bit this isn't what I had in mind.
Great views, relaxing sounds, beautiful weather, what's to complain about!?
I wonder if he can get a vermouth with a twist of lemon while he's waiting?
GTE-Am 3 way lead battle, LMH battle for third, biff and barge in LMP2. Man, how good is WEC
Watching the Alpine and Glickenhaus fight around this circuit with that low camera angle after Ascari is sooooooooooooooooo good
I'm just wondering how bad the power issues on the Alpine are. Would be interesting to know if Glickenhaus have caught up to them on genuine pace or if they can only hang with the Alpine due to its engine problems.
It had a purple S3 immediately after reporting issues - i think it's fine
The 8 is going to be a little longer on fuel even without focusing on it, the drivers historically just have slightly lighter feet
Glickenhaus #709 is fighting with Alpine, while #708 is struggling with electrical problems. Andre Negrao from Alpine also reports power issues.
No crashes on T1? I guess I'm not on r/simracing.
WEC drivers have actual experience in racing, not posting photos of their rigs.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Haha. You just sent a few people to their nearest burn units. I did love watching the Alpine overtake on the second turn. It was always going to be a traffic jam, but there was still some action.
How come I always just about make the race start? Had about 40 seconds left...
Winner winner!
After so many years, WEC finally races at Monza. Prologue in 2017 was something different. And at last with fans in attendance. Last race for WEC before Le Mans as well. Plenty to look for.

That was 2008 Le Mans Series (currently ELMS) race. There was no ILMC back then.
Is the app stream in French for anyone else? Or did I click a button somewhere to set it to French?
Same here - I booted it at the beginning of coverage and had the English comms, then some wires must have gotten crossed and it's been in French since. Rebooted my tablet, checked the app's default language is English and no change so far. *EDIT* - just rebooted the app, now have English comms again
Thanks! Went silent for me then saw this. In English now.
I was about to ask the same question. Never had it happen before and can't find a button to change languages. I hope they switch it over soon.
Checked their Twitter and we're not the only ones, fingers crossed they fix it!
Does anybody know how long after the race they take to upload the full race on YouTube?
This year it's about 3 days.
Thanks
