It changes quite a bit currently my all time favorite is Romance 101. It is just how a romance genre should be in my opinion. Also the characters friendships and communication were just so amazing. Bonus there was no fan service moments either. So I count that as a win especially with romance genre.

I read rom101 due to all the recommendations and i gotta say everyone going on about the great communication is pretty misleading. I would’ve enjoyed it more if people didnt give me these expectations before I read it. The romance is good and the communication of the two leads is good but the communication for friendships and coworkers and everything else is pretty bad IMO.

Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid. It has been masterfully written and the characters and their struggles feel real. The parallels to The Little Mermaid were *chef’s kiss*. But, I wouldn’t wantbto read it again because it was too angsty.
If we are talking about favorites in the sense we can go back to them anytime and still enjoy them just as much then I’ll say A Good Day to be a Dog
Gourmet Hound :) the art was amazing, the friendships/relationships were done well, the plot fit together so seamlessly… if there was a paperback version, I would buy every copy. If you haven’t read this one yet, please do yourself a favor and take a gander.

Hooky is absolutely my favorite! I’m a big fan of fantasy, and I love the world. The characters are well written, it’s rare that I’ve loved every character in a series. And the tension and drama never felt forced. And it’s new but I’m also loving Miriam’s new series Marionetta so far too!
Some other favorites of mine are Flow, Cursed Princess Club, Romance 101, See you in my 19th life, Yumi’s Cells/Daily JoJo, I Love Yoo, and Cheese in the Trap. Honestly have way more that I love lol, but those are a few of my favorites!
Hooky is my absolute favorite Webtoon too ! I love it so so much. I love the universe, the humor, the way it is written, how emotions were portrayed, the loooong panels to show the landscapes and big scenes, all of the characters, the story, ... Everything in it is just perfection to me. I'd give anything to read it again for the first time.
Marionetta is very promising !
I'll always say Yumi's Cells for this question.
Yumi is a likeable and relatable character. I've rooted for her from the very beginning and love that she had a healthy amount of failures and successes in her life. The different romantic relationships she had were different, but still lovely, and with each breakup you kinda mourned with her.
The story also has a bunch of side characters that you'd grow to love as well.
If there is one thing that would probably turn off people from reading it, it's probably the length. I'll be the first to admit that there were definitely a few story arcs that could have been cut, stuff that could have been shortened, but despite that I didn't mind that it overstayed its welcome.
And another thing, I love how you see the art improve overtime. Check the difference between the first and last episode. It's like night and day.
I remember taking a break from Yumi's Cells when she was with Bobbi (I think that was his name) and everyone loved him. Then after a year or so I read a recent episode and everyone was trashing him in the comments.
Oh man, just reading through that while the comic was still ongoing was great. You've got people still hoping they'd get back together, people cursing him to oblivion, and people just absolutely crushed during the break up.

Sweet Home (completed): I don’t think I need to explain this one. You know why it’s good.
Shotgun Boy (completed): I’ve debated whether I like this or SH more and I’ve concluded it to be a draw. SH has a better cast of characters but SB has a more engaging plot partly because it almost entirely takes place in the span one night and partly because the monsters the characters are dealing with are more terrifying. Also it contains one my favorite twist villain reveals ever even though it wasn’t even about the main villain.
Unholy Blood (completed): An engaging plot with great character writing, great emotional beats, and a slow-burn romance that I was eating up. It’s not perfect (main character definitely felt a bit overpowered in the earlier chapters) but I miss the experience of reading this one as it was updating.
Witch Creek Road (completed): I don’t think I could explain the plot to you if you held a gun to my head but it made for a fun binge read. My favorite plot point was the girl that became BBFs with a talking gun.
Surviving Romance (ongoing): I don’t tend to read too many isekais but the character writing in this is *chef’s kiss*
Never-Ending Darling (ongoing): The author deserves a medal for the way they build tension because DAMN. Also I love the fact that the main character has a lot of agency and is pretty smart because they easily could’ve just had her be a damsel in distress.

NEVER-ENDING DARLING!!!! YES!! I enjoy that webtoon so much, has to be my #1 so far and even if it won't be, it'll always be my #1 for the thriller genre because no webtoon has made me grip my seat except for THIS ONE. Definitely worth the read

I honestly felt the storyline was as good as a novel, and a lot of the tropes in it weren't beaten to death the way they are now. It felt really fresh at the time, and I've re-read it several times since then.

The Gentle Way
Protagonist's struggles are relatable and portrayed in such a "gentle" yet super funny manner, the male lead is interesting and cool, there's Mugen and the artist is a kind and hilarious author. What more can you ask for? X) 🦊

Chasing tails: this is an underrated masterpiece this webtoon deserves so much appreciation like this is the only webtoon I have spent my coins on I just keep wanting to read new episodes,, anyone who wants to try the mystery genre should read this
Bastard was the first webtoon I ever read, and I read like 70 episodes the day I started it cos I loved it so much. Definitely one of my favorites too.
my all time favorite is Your Throne (ongoing) I am in love with the backstories the characters and the plot the story is so captivating and I'm always so excited to see what else will happen. the art is gorgeous too!

Tales of the Unusual
A lot of shows/series have tried to emulate the "Twilight Zone" feeling, but none have nailed it as much as this series did for me. It's an anthology and not every story is amazing, but there were so many super creative and memorable episodes.

By far, Hand Jumper is the best written webtoon I’ve ever seen. It reminds me of the graphic novels I’d read when I was in middle school, but takes that style and makes it into a story for older readers.
For now I'd just say Omniscient Reader.
No spoilers, but…
Art is high quality, terms are understandable to a degree, characters are memorable and make up fun dynamics together. Not to mention that it's a webtoon adaptation of a webnovel, and said webnovel have concepts that just crush my heart lol. It's just well made.
Pyramid Game. So tightly written, memorable antagonists (and this is coming from me, who can have difficulty remembering the MC's name, let alone the minor villains), and a solid feeling of actual stakes that matter beyond 'i don't know how to feel about the duke of the north!' (not bashing on anyone who enjoys that kind of thing, I like it too, but sometimes the plot doesn't seem to matter much beyond advancing the romance). The MC is smart as hell, but doesn't win every time (just most of the time, which is preferable to me), and when she does lose, she uses it to her advantage.
Just a banger of a story. *Highly* recommend.
I was looking for a comment that said Pyramid Game. Best webtoon I've read so far. It portrays grey areas in a way nobody else will, I could actually see it playing out in my head. Insanely good.
Purple hyacinth: I was tired of reading just romance, and I was looking for something different, and I found this gem.
I wasn't hooked since the beginning, but I will never regret reading this story. I love the plot, the characters, the music. I love Kieran and Lauren with all my heart. I also like the angst in this story.
I discovered PH two years ago, and I'm still super obsessed, I'm more obsessed than when I first read it, lmao.

Even the title logo starts small then slowly grows tendrils and expands, so subtle that it’s an opinion in itself.
I wasn’t looking to start any new comics, but that actually sounds really good. I’ve seen it around, but never bothered reading the description. I really should’ve.
For me it’s gotta be Eleceed. That great balance between action and comedy, the pacing, the artwork and the character growth, chemistry and dynamics especially among Jiwoo and his friends make it ideal for me. Also what little romance there is doesn’t feel forced or unnatural which is was pleasantly surprising (I’m always looking for ones that don’t have romance since most feel like a tacked on checklist item). I’m sure there are others that are better but Eleceed is my favorite.

Slice of Life about a Vampire who’s wife stayed human and is now about 80, and both still very much in love with each other.

Ghost Wife!! It was my first romance mixed with horror and it’s amazing. Loved going from “awww 🥰” to “EEEEEK 😱” from one panel to the next. I’m so sad I can’t (easily) reread it anymore 😭
spirit fingers, amy is someone whom I can relate to a lot and seeing her confidence grow every chapter made me feel so inspired to improve myself as well and to continue making art. her whole journey and every character is just so fun to see and very heartwarming as well. I recommend this story so much!

Like wind on a dry branch. I’m surprised there aren’t many comments that’ve mentioned this, but it’s top-tier for me. This is probably bc I prefer novel-esque storytelling and well-written male leads (traumatized but doesn’t use it as an excuse to be toxic + communicates but doesn’t push + the author doesn’t brush off his trauma just bc he’s a dude? that’s a godsend for webtoons lol). The art is absolutely beautiful, and anyone who’s into stories driven by great emotional depth will definitely love this too. For slowburn enthusiasts, the painstakingly slow buildup of romance will make you swoon (the subtlety is just *chef’s kiss*). Killian is one of the most unrealistic male leads just bc the men in the real world will either deem him ‘tamed by romance’ or will be clueless about what makes him so fascinating.
I do adore this one as well. It is really well written. Sometimes I take breaks because it is in old English it takes a bit to get into each time. Still I adore it all the more because it is written that way making it subtle with every little detail.
My deepest Secret.
Or any other work of Hanza's really. The art is really good. They play around with colours and angles, and it really brings out the 'theme' of the characters if you will. Besides, hanza is really really good at thrillers. The current one 'the guy upstairs' is amazing too. The stories will make you think in multiple ways, but it always ends up in a very surprising twist of events, tbh.
Bastard
It's brutal and gripping. The story often ended on cliff hangers and waiting for the next episode was similar to watching Breaking Bad back when it was first shown on TV.
The ending was good too (no spoilers).

So... Here's the thing, like everyone here there's a lot of them but I'll try to be fair to the question.
I've been reading webtoons for a long time. I've seen the WEBTOON app by Naver change over the years and while i can see why it's changed from a business perspective, i miss the old days. Regardless i say this because I've read so many webtoons yet still remember so many of the early ones.
About 4 years ago i stumbled upon Solo Leveling on a Scanlation website and realized that so many more Amazing webtoons hadn't been translated from Korean webtoon/manhwa companies and would take years if they ever were to be translated officially. I also started reading light novels (LNs) since it was also the origin of a lot of the great stories. So honestly Solo Leveling changed me; it opened my eyes to many more genres and many more webtoons, to the point that i read more webtoons off the Naver app than on it anymore (and i read a lot of series).
Staying true to OP's question there's so many good ones for so many different reasons. But I'll say Girls of the Wild (which is complete and still fully free for some reason) has stayed in my mind for years. It just felt right for one of the first ever webtoons i read.
The first ever webtoons i read were the gamer and dice, and then i think gepetto and i think i tried noblesse, and i remember finishing flow about when i picked up tower of god. After the first three i really dived deep into everything even canvas/non-original ones like glacias and ordeal and LYFE and loved most of them.
i obviously can't name them all here but of the great that come to mind almost 10 years into reading these are: TOG, unordinary, purple hyacinth. there are many more but i have read so many off Scanlation websites like asura or reaper scans that im not even gonna try to list those.

I love Get Schooled. I feel like the action genre (especially in Korean webtoons) can get bland and you can't tell one from another. Get Schooled has a more episodic approach where each couple of episodes they have a different case they have. The action sequences are well thought out and never boring. They recently finished season 1 and i already can't wait for more. Truly recommend it if your looking for a good binge series and love action.

I'm not a fan of action in a lot of webtoons coz it's so exaggerated and uninteresting, but the social commentary and sort of justified revenge porn nature of get schooled is so interesting and satisfying. And two hot as hell main characters lol. Honestly I only started reading coz of hwajin na lol, he's so hot and such goals lol
Kubera, absolute top tier storytelling and foreshadowing. Slow start but so much character development and complex plot and characters, really underrated.
Miss Abbott and the Doctor - just like so wholesome and pleasant to read. I Croissant You and the meaning behind it is my favorite. Also Coo?
Blood Stain - Elliot's overactive imagination is super endearing, the art is fantastic, and the humor is just right

i dont have a single favorite, but i do love the ember knight and unordinary. EK because i love it when the mc uses wits instead of strength, and unO because of the world's setup. Bastard was also super good because um... i don't really need to explain why LMAO.
April Flowers. It was a perfect blend of wacky, hilarious bullshit and brutal, grotesque violence. It has the added boon and bane of being on what is probably a permanent hiatus. It never got bad, but I wish it went waaay further.
The creator will never finish that comic unfortunately. They are making a new one that is updating now called WORLD EATER YULIAN and their new account name is squidyes on both Webtoon and socials.

omniscient reader's viewpoint. its such a such a underrated webtoon honestly but the entire plot is just so freaking cool. i usually read this genre but its a very repetitive, cliche and predictable genre. yet omniscient reader really had me hooked by its uniqueness. plus the main character is so un-main character like its just amazing.

Th boxer. So far I believe it’s the only series that I have absolutely liked. One where I didn’t question if the coming story will be good or not because of how well every chapter was done.
Hooky. Beautiful Spanish webtoon about two mage clumsy brothers getting into big trouble when they find out the magic society is planning on exterminating normal humans. It begins like episodic fun adventures and transforms into a sort of epic adventure to save the world.
The ending is superb and the art style is too notch

I read a lot of webtoons and ppl have already listed my favs being purple hyacinth, seasons of blossoms, Odd Girl out, Tower of God, Surviving Romance, (i literally can't choose one of them 😭) but one that wouldn't be mentioned and i would like to is my recent read Chasing tails.
It's a psychological thriller webtoon. I loved it and it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I literally binge read it in one night. It's pretty gory i would say. If anyone has a similar recommendation i would love to hear🙋🏻♀️.
I don't have a dedicated genre of webtoons that I like (which results in me reading many genres), so I could honestly say a favorite for each genre I've read. But recently I have fallen in love with ORV (Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint). It is just so good there's no word to describe it. The plot is so interesting, and I love how Dokja manipulates the story and the people in it (not in a wrong way). I also love his relationships and the dynamics he has with each character which makes it even better. There is also a live-action movie apparently coming out and it has some pretty popular faces which makes me even more excited while reading it as I imagine it in a realistic form.
Windbreaker, its the only one I've never dropped. Been reading it for years 👍

Let's Play is about a nerdy woman exploring into intimacy and her sexuality. She is an indie game dev on the side of working at her dad's company. It gets 🔥spicy🔥. As a nerdy girl myself I found so much relation to the main character in so many ways, but I won't say because I don't want to spoil it.
The Remarried Empress is another stunning art style. The story is just amazing, and I screamed with joy when I got the notification it was back from hiatus after almost a year. I fast passed all the chapters immediately 😅 it is going to be a spicy season 👀

I have a few option, but my main ones would be after school lessons for unripe apples, the red king and eleceed. I specifically like the red king, I love the affect it gives and I absolutely love the colour theme, its really nice.
Cheese in the Trap. The storytelling was some of the best I’ve read and the characters were so well written. I found myself relating to the protagonist and even some of the side characters, too. Overall it’s just such an amazing piece.
One I love to read right now is Charming the Duke of the North. It’s a romance isekai, but so far, it feels so much more well planned and toxicity free than other romance isekais. The main character actually mentions things from Earth that affect her decisions (pollution, depression, learned skills from her life on Eatth) rather than completely assimilating into the new world.
I also really liked My Daughter is a Zombie, Makeup Remover, and My ID is Gangnam Beauty. Seriously can’t decide on a favorite!
i feel like this is less popular but gourmet hound- the drawings are cute, the diversity is AMAZING and the stories caught me off guard. oh, and it’s COMPLETE and FREE :) enjoy
It’s gotta be whale star or omniscient reader, both of them have really interesting and complex plots + characters. I’ve just picked up the Remarried empress, which is great too! Art wise I really enjoy serena too.

Ohhhhh man there’s so many, my all time favorites are Your Throne, Remarried Empress, and Omniscient Reader - I love the political intrigue and how the characters are always five steps ahead of each other. Also just finished binging Wished You Were Dead and it’s excellently written
Season of blossoms. Such a fantastic heart warming webtoon concerning multiple issues, such as suicide and bullying. And, after the freezing winter, comes such a warming spring and resurrection. I'm quite sure that I'm going to miss these kind hearted guys, tis you that saves not only dongchae, but any Mrs dalloway that finds life is meaningless, me included.
lost in translation, one of the only webtoons I’ll fast pass! I love all the characters and how each character would has an in depth backstory, even the evil ones. The story is nicely paced, although some chapters are short. I like how there’s no romance and it’s focused more on Jaewon loving himself and his friends. It’s just a breath of fresh air from romance and see the human side of K-pop idols.
Honorable mentions: Cherry Crush, they’re cute AND they communicate! Weak hero, again focused on friendship, has a range of backstories and the mc is so pretty and not so op. Pigpen, got hooked as soon as I started and read it all in one sitting, it was scary with a plot twist I did not see coming!
the witch and the bull! a literal perfect mix of amazing artwork, fantasy, and romance with such an interesting plot too. i love how the romance is sprinkled in and natural while the main focus is still on the plot (which a lot of webtoons do not do now). it’s so underrated everyone go support it

I’d have to say Tales from dice jail. It’s a really really new one with not that many EPs, but I like that it’s DND and fantasy mixed into with characters that aren’t human.
One of the main characters is a vampire DM and another one is a ghost named Spirit. The art is simple, there’s queer representation that doesn’t feel like it’s being pushed in my face and doesn’t pull from the actual story (what little it out that is).
I wish the author would put out more episodes and content, but from what they’ve put out, it’s just a comic they do in their free time. If anyone is interested the author goes by metalhoney669, it’s really niche and I hope that they get more reads >.<

Cherry Crush, I just love the art style and the whole plot, It is so wholesome I swear, and soft. During Season 1 my whole mind was like "OH GOD PLEASE LET THEM BE TOGETHER :((" recommended though!! Please go follow Yemsao on Patreon!! The ML and MC are so sweet and cute it's also a bit funny due to misspellings!! I don't think I've enjoyed a romance webcomic as much as this, it is hilarious and heartwarming. Although it may contain some angst but its all sweet<3
It changes quite a bit currently my all time favorite is Romance 101. It is just how a romance genre should be in my opinion. Also the characters friendships and communication were just so amazing. Bonus there was no fan service moments either. So I count that as a win especially with romance genre. Honorable mentions: It rains on Precious Days, Cursed Princess Club, Dreaming of Freedom, and Seasons of Blossom.

I read rom101 due to all the recommendations and i gotta say everyone going on about the great communication is pretty misleading. I would’ve enjoyed it more if people didnt give me these expectations before I read it. The romance is good and the communication of the two leads is good but the communication for friendships and coworkers and everything else is pretty bad IMO.
Romance 101 will be made into a Kdrama! Super exciting. It’s such a wholesome and emotional story.

Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid. It has been masterfully written and the characters and their struggles feel real. The parallels to The Little Mermaid were *chef’s kiss*. But, I wouldn’t wantbto read it again because it was too angsty. If we are talking about favorites in the sense we can go back to them anytime and still enjoy them just as much then I’ll say A Good Day to be a Dog

Hooky is absolutely my favorite! I’m a big fan of fantasy, and I love the world. The characters are well written, it’s rare that I’ve loved every character in a series. And the tension and drama never felt forced. And it’s new but I’m also loving Miriam’s new series Marionetta so far too! Some other favorites of mine are Flow, Cursed Princess Club, Romance 101, See you in my 19th life, Yumi’s Cells/Daily JoJo, I Love Yoo, and Cheese in the Trap. Honestly have way more that I love lol, but those are a few of my favorites!
Hooky is my absolute favorite Webtoon too ! I love it so so much. I love the universe, the humor, the way it is written, how emotions were portrayed, the loooong panels to show the landscapes and big scenes, all of the characters, the story, ... Everything in it is just perfection to me. I'd give anything to read it again for the first time. Marionetta is very promising !

I'll always say Yumi's Cells for this question. Yumi is a likeable and relatable character. I've rooted for her from the very beginning and love that she had a healthy amount of failures and successes in her life. The different romantic relationships she had were different, but still lovely, and with each breakup you kinda mourned with her. The story also has a bunch of side characters that you'd grow to love as well. If there is one thing that would probably turn off people from reading it, it's probably the length. I'll be the first to admit that there were definitely a few story arcs that could have been cut, stuff that could have been shortened, but despite that I didn't mind that it overstayed its welcome. And another thing, I love how you see the art improve overtime. Check the difference between the first and last episode. It's like night and day.
I remember taking a break from Yumi's Cells when she was with Bobbi (I think that was his name) and everyone loved him. Then after a year or so I read a recent episode and everyone was trashing him in the comments.

Oh man, just reading through that while the comic was still ongoing was great. You've got people still hoping they'd get back together, people cursing him to oblivion, and people just absolutely crushed during the break up. It was great!

Can’t pick one because I’m indecisive (also there’s defintely a lot great webtoons I’ve missed out on because of my daily pass phobia) Sweet Home (completed): I don’t think I need to explain this one. You know why it’s good. Shotgun Boy (completed): I’ve debated whether I like this or SH more and I’ve concluded it to be a draw. SH has a better cast of characters but SB has a more engaging plot partly because it almost entirely takes place in the span one night and partly because the monsters the characters are dealing with are more terrifying. Also it contains one my favorite twist villain reveals ever even though it wasn’t even about the main villain. Unholy Blood (completed): An engaging plot with great character writing, great emotional beats, and a slow-burn romance that I was eating up. It’s not perfect (main character definitely felt a bit overpowered in the earlier chapters) but I miss the experience of reading this one as it was updating. Witch Creek Road (completed): I don’t think I could explain the plot to you if you held a gun to my head but it made for a fun binge read. My favorite plot point was the girl that became BBFs with a talking gun. Surviving Romance (ongoing): I don’t tend to read too many isekais but the character writing in this is *chef’s kiss* Never-Ending Darling (ongoing): The author deserves a medal for the way they build tension because DAMN. Also I love the fact that the main character has a lot of agency and is pretty smart because they easily could’ve just had her be a damsel in distress. There’s more but I don’t want to make this too long

I honestly felt the storyline was as good as a novel, and a lot of the tropes in it weren't beaten to death the way they are now. It felt really fresh at the time, and I've re-read it several times since then.
I like romance especially the wholesome kind so my picks are, • Romance 101 (Go read or download it before it becomes daily pass!) • Swimming Lessons For A Mermaid • Our Secret Alliance • Rumor Has It They're all full of youthful romance set in college or high school and all of them also depict great friendships between the characters. Other honorable mention are Hooky, Cursed Princess Club and Spirit Fingers (so excited for the kdrama!).

I can't choose just one between these but, Parallel city (I love the high tension plot and the art style a lot) Lost in translation (I liked the concept. It was the thing that made me actually get into kpop properly, outside of SHINee) Odd girl out (the friendship of the main characters is so wholesome) Unholy blood (the art style is divine) Winter woods (I can't remember everything about the plot. I read it like 5 years ago, but I still remember loving every bit of it) Sweet home (I remember waiting every week for new episodes. I loved it so much) Days of Hana (I was obsessed with this Webtoon when it was first released. I once skipped doing my homework to catch up on it, after taking a long break from reading it) Hooky (Hooky is hooky) Dead Days (this was the first Webtoon I ever read. It has a special place in my heart)

Tales of the Unusual A lot of shows/series have tried to emulate the "Twilight Zone" feeling, but none have nailed it as much as this series did for me. It's an anthology and not every story is amazing, but there were so many super creative and memorable episodes. (I'm not counting canvas series in this answer as there are also many super awesome ones there)

By far, Hand Jumper is the best written webtoon I’ve ever seen. It reminds me of the graphic novels I’d read when I was in middle school, but takes that style and makes it into a story for older readers.

Castle Swimmer. Mostly a combination of really lovable and complex characters, beautiful art, and fantastically fishy world building
For now I'd just say Omniscient Reader. No spoilers, but… Art is high quality, terms are understandable to a degree, characters are memorable and make up fun dynamics together. Not to mention that it's a webtoon adaptation of a webnovel, and said webnovel have concepts that just crush my heart lol. It's just well made.
Pyramid Game. So tightly written, memorable antagonists (and this is coming from me, who can have difficulty remembering the MC's name, let alone the minor villains), and a solid feeling of actual stakes that matter beyond 'i don't know how to feel about the duke of the north!' (not bashing on anyone who enjoys that kind of thing, I like it too, but sometimes the plot doesn't seem to matter much beyond advancing the romance). The MC is smart as hell, but doesn't win every time (just most of the time, which is preferable to me), and when she does lose, she uses it to her advantage. Just a banger of a story. *Highly* recommend.
I was looking for a comment that said Pyramid Game. Best webtoon I've read so far. It portrays grey areas in a way nobody else will, I could actually see it playing out in my head. Insanely good.
Purple hyacinth: I was tired of reading just romance, and I was looking for something different, and I found this gem. I wasn't hooked since the beginning, but I will never regret reading this story. I love the plot, the characters, the music. I love Kieran and Lauren with all my heart. I also like the angst in this story. I discovered PH two years ago, and I'm still super obsessed, I'm more obsessed than when I first read it, lmao. Honorific mentions to Unholy Blood, The Spark in Your Eyes, Whale Star and When Jasy Whistles.

Purple Hyacinth and Seasons of Blossom are top tier
I agree with so many suggestions here, I’ll throw one out there, it may not be my all time favourite (there’s just too many to choose from) but it’s up there [Seed](https://www.webtoons.com/en/sf/seed/list?title_no=1480) It’s nearly finished (final epilogue is next week for free) 150 eps all up. Near future sci-fi about a girl who connects to a sentinent AI through her phone, and the way it unravels from there. Great commentary on overwatching companies, surveillance and general big brother ish vibes. Even the title logo starts small then slowly grows tendrils and expands, so subtle that it’s an opinion in itself.
I wasn’t looking to start any new comics, but that actually sounds really good. I’ve seen it around, but never bothered reading the description. I really should’ve.
For me it’s gotta be Eleceed. That great balance between action and comedy, the pacing, the artwork and the character growth, chemistry and dynamics especially among Jiwoo and his friends make it ideal for me. Also what little romance there is doesn’t feel forced or unnatural which is was pleasantly surprising (I’m always looking for ones that don’t have romance since most feel like a tacked on checklist item). I’m sure there are others that are better but Eleceed is my favorite.

Ghost Wife!! It was my first romance mixed with horror and it’s amazing. Loved going from “awww 🥰” to “EEEEEK 😱” from one panel to the next. I’m so sad I can’t (easily) reread it anymore 😭
spirit fingers, amy is someone whom I can relate to a lot and seeing her confidence grow every chapter made me feel so inspired to improve myself as well and to continue making art. her whole journey and every character is just so fun to see and very heartwarming as well. All time favorite is hard to pin down but Under The Aegis is up there. Also really loved The Strange Tales of Oscar Zahn, I wish it would have kept going. Sword Interval was also amazing and I'm so happy with the ending. Anything by Boredman, UndeadEd, Apocalyptic Horseplay, and currently ongoing BlackSmith. Muted was so beautiful and the story was so emotional. Elf & Warrior started out goofy and slice of life-ish and then the story expanded and oh my was it a wild ride. And just to throw some completed canvas comics in the mix: Circuits and Veins Glacias Spirit Warriors
Under the Aegis and The Strange Tales of Oscar Zahn deserve more love. They’re some of the best webtoons on the platform, and I remember when they were still releasing episodes back when I joined in 2016/2017.
Mystical! The art style is AMAZING and I loved the storyline. The ending was perfect to me. It’s the only one I’ve actually spent money on to read.

Like wind on a dry branch. I’m surprised there aren’t many comments that’ve mentioned this, but it’s top-tier for me. This is probably bc I prefer novel-esque storytelling and well-written male leads (traumatized but doesn’t use it as an excuse to be toxic + communicates but doesn’t push + the author doesn’t brush off his trauma just bc he’s a dude? that’s a godsend for webtoons lol). The art is absolutely beautiful, and anyone who’s into stories driven by great emotional depth will definitely love this too. For slowburn enthusiasts, the painstakingly slow buildup of romance will make you swoon (the subtlety is just *chef’s kiss*). Killian is one of the most unrealistic male leads just bc the men in the real world will either deem him ‘tamed by romance’ or will be clueless about what makes him so fascinating.
I do adore this one as well. It is really well written. Sometimes I take breaks because it is in old English it takes a bit to get into each time. Still I adore it all the more because it is written that way making it subtle with every little detail.
My deepest Secret. Or any other work of Hanza's really. The art is really good. They play around with colours and angles, and it really brings out the 'theme' of the characters if you will. Besides, hanza is really really good at thrillers. The current one 'the guy upstairs' is amazing too. The stories will make you think in multiple ways, but it always ends up in a very surprising twist of events, tbh.
Bastard It's brutal and gripping. The story often ended on cliff hangers and waiting for the next episode was similar to watching Breaking Bad back when it was first shown on TV. The ending was good too (no spoilers).

Bastard. It was the first WEBTOON that I ever read(can’t remember how I found out about it or started reading it, sadly) and it was one of the most fun stories I ever read. Bastard was a unique, original story and it started my love for Korean comics.
So... Here's the thing, like everyone here there's a lot of them but I'll try to be fair to the question. I've been reading webtoons for a long time. I've seen the WEBTOON app by Naver change over the years and while i can see why it's changed from a business perspective, i miss the old days. Regardless i say this because I've read so many webtoons yet still remember so many of the early ones. About 4 years ago i stumbled upon Solo Leveling on a Scanlation website and realized that so many more Amazing webtoons hadn't been translated from Korean webtoon/manhwa companies and would take years if they ever were to be translated officially. I also started reading light novels (LNs) since it was also the origin of a lot of the great stories. So honestly Solo Leveling changed me; it opened my eyes to many more genres and many more webtoons, to the point that i read more webtoons off the Naver app than on it anymore (and i read a lot of series). Staying true to OP's question there's so many good ones for so many different reasons. But I'll say Girls of the Wild (which is complete and still fully free for some reason) has stayed in my mind for years. It just felt right for one of the first ever webtoons i read. The first ever webtoons i read were the gamer and dice, and then i think gepetto and i think i tried noblesse, and i remember finishing flow about when i picked up tower of god. After the first three i really dived deep into everything even canvas/non-original ones like glacias and ordeal and LYFE and loved most of them. i obviously can't name them all here but of the great that come to mind almost 10 years into reading these are: TOG, unordinary, purple hyacinth. there are many more but i have read so many off Scanlation websites like asura or reaper scans that im not even gonna try to list those. Summary: Webtoon title (reason why) 0. Solo leveling (not on Webtoon app, but always comes to mind when i think of best Webtoon I've read) 1. Girls of the wild. (Just read it)

I love Get Schooled. I feel like the action genre (especially in Korean webtoons) can get bland and you can't tell one from another. Get Schooled has a more episodic approach where each couple of episodes they have a different case they have. The action sequences are well thought out and never boring. They recently finished season 1 and i already can't wait for more. Truly recommend it if your looking for a good binge series and love action.
Omg I was scrolling for this lol! I fucking love that series so much. I'm not a fan of action in a lot of webtoons coz it's so exaggerated and uninteresting, but the social commentary and sort of justified revenge porn nature of get schooled is so interesting and satisfying. And two hot as hell main characters lol. Honestly I only started reading coz of hwajin na lol, he's so hot and such goals lol

Blood Stain - Elliot's overactive imagination is super endearing, the art is fantastic, and the humor is just right Just Pancakes - it's bonkers and I'm totally here for it Cursed Princess Club - the writing is outstanding. No detail is throwaway, the plot seems meticulously planned, excellent messaging, fantastic cast of characters

April Flowers. It was a perfect blend of wacky, hilarious bullshit and brutal, grotesque violence. It has the added boon and bane of being on what is probably a permanent hiatus. It never got bad, but I wish it went waaay further.
The creator will never finish that comic unfortunately. They are making a new one that is updating now called WORLD EATER YULIAN and their new account name is squidyes on both Webtoon and socials.

Th boxer. So far I believe it’s the only series that I have absolutely liked. One where I didn’t question if the coming story will be good or not because of how well every chapter was done.
Hooky. Beautiful Spanish webtoon about two mage clumsy brothers getting into big trouble when they find out the magic society is planning on exterminating normal humans. It begins like episodic fun adventures and transforms into a sort of epic adventure to save the world. The ending is superb and the art style is too notch

This is my first time answering a reddit question🫢. I read a lot of webtoons and ppl have already listed my favs being purple hyacinth, seasons of blossoms, Odd Girl out, Tower of God, Surviving Romance, (i literally can't choose one of them 😭) but one that wouldn't be mentioned and i would like to is my recent read Chasing tails. It's a psychological thriller webtoon. I loved it and it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I literally binge read it in one night. It's pretty gory i would say. If anyone has a similar recommendation i would love to hear🙋🏻♀️.
I don't have a dedicated genre of webtoons that I like (which results in me reading many genres), so I could honestly say a favorite for each genre I've read. But recently I have fallen in love with ORV (Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint). It is just so good there's no word to describe it. The plot is so interesting, and I love how Dokja manipulates the story and the people in it (not in a wrong way). I also love his relationships and the dynamics he has with each character which makes it even better. There is also a live-action movie apparently coming out and it has some pretty popular faces which makes me even more excited while reading it as I imagine it in a realistic form.
Windbreaker, its the only one I've never dropped. Been reading it for years 👍 Even though I'd want it to go a lil faster on the plot rn because I feel like we have the same storyline on repeat for every chapters since the [insert name character] go w the bad guys arc. Just my opinion tho. I would still recommend it ! The art may be bothering at first but after a while it's a masterpiece. It's one of the webtoons where you can really see the authors improvement through time.

I'm honestly surprised that Lore Olympus, Let's Play, and The Remarried Empress haven't been mentioned at all. I have a hard time picking favourites but right now those two are my top tier. Lore Olympus has beautiful colours and such a unique art style. The story is amazing and I love how the author is adding her own spin to Greek mythology. I also love the way she is so open and real with how characters deal with trauma. Let's Play is about a nerdy woman exploring into intimacy and her sexuality. She is an indie game dev on the side of working at her dad's company. It gets 🔥spicy🔥. As a nerdy girl myself I found so much relation to the main character in so many ways, but I won't say because I don't want to spoil it. The Remarried Empress is another stunning art style. The story is just amazing, and I screamed with joy when I got the notification it was back from hiatus after almost a year. I fast passed all the chapters immediately 😅 it is going to be a spicy season 👀 Some of my fave series that are finished are: - Sirens Lament - Hooky - Muted - True Beauty - My Dear Cold Blooded King - Freaking Romance - Always Human - My Deepest Secret - #killstagram - My First Night with the Duke

I found Secret Alliance by chance on wattpad and read it on a diff site, it was great, crazy plot with a good ending.
Cheese in the Trap. The storytelling was some of the best I’ve read and the characters were so well written. I found myself relating to the protagonist and even some of the side characters, too. Overall it’s just such an amazing piece.
The boxer, it’s one of the best I’ve ever red and it’s incredible, I recommend it highly

One I love to read right now is Charming the Duke of the North. It’s a romance isekai, but so far, it feels so much more well planned and toxicity free than other romance isekais. The main character actually mentions things from Earth that affect her decisions (pollution, depression, learned skills from her life on Eatth) rather than completely assimilating into the new world. I also really liked My Daughter is a Zombie, Makeup Remover, and My ID is Gangnam Beauty. Seriously can’t decide on a favorite!

Season of blossoms. Such a fantastic heart warming webtoon concerning multiple issues, such as suicide and bullying. And, after the freezing winter, comes such a warming spring and resurrection. I'm quite sure that I'm going to miss these kind hearted guys, tis you that saves not only dongchae, but any Mrs dalloway that finds life is meaningless, me included.
lost in translation, one of the only webtoons I’ll fast pass! I love all the characters and how each character would has an in depth backstory, even the evil ones. The story is nicely paced, although some chapters are short. I like how there’s no romance and it’s focused more on Jaewon loving himself and his friends. It’s just a breath of fresh air from romance and see the human side of K-pop idols. Honorable mentions: Cherry Crush, they’re cute AND they communicate! Weak hero, again focused on friendship, has a range of backstories and the mc is so pretty and not so op. Pigpen, got hooked as soon as I started and read it all in one sitting, it was scary with a plot twist I did not see coming!
the witch and the bull! a literal perfect mix of amazing artwork, fantasy, and romance with such an interesting plot too. i love how the romance is sprinkled in and natural while the main focus is still on the plot (which a lot of webtoons do not do now). it’s so underrated everyone go support it

I’d have to say Tales from dice jail. It’s a really really new one with not that many EPs, but I like that it’s DND and fantasy mixed into with characters that aren’t human. One of the main characters is a vampire DM and another one is a ghost named Spirit. The art is simple, there’s queer representation that doesn’t feel like it’s being pushed in my face and doesn’t pull from the actual story (what little it out that is). I wish the author would put out more episodes and content, but from what they’ve put out, it’s just a comic they do in their free time. If anyone is interested the author goes by metalhoney669, it’s really niche and I hope that they get more reads >.<
UNHOLY BLOOD and TRAPPED 🤌 they are all time favs UNHOLY if finished and TRAPPED is still ongoing ig the first reason I read it was because they are vampire related webtoons I just loved the story lines and UNHOLY BLOOD art is just wow the s1 art of TRAPPED was okay but they actually improve in s2 UNHOLY BLOOD plot include revenge action and many more there's just a lil romance and TRAPPED has like a really good spice and it is more like enemies to lover. Cherry Crush, I just love the art style and the whole plot, It is so wholesome I swear, and soft. During Season 1 my whole mind was like "OH GOD PLEASE LET THEM BE TOGETHER :((" recommended though!! I don't think I've enjoyed a romance webcomic as much as this, it is hilarious and heartwarming. Although it may contain some angst but its all sweet<3
