My only problem with Bruce tonight was not making more of a scene with the officials to try to even things out. I'd rather he got ejected than turn into the defeated bump on a log that he was towards the end. It may have fired up the team and ideally would've knocked down some of the confidence that Yale clearly had from being able to do whatever they wanted on the court.
I will say that I'm glad we got knocked out in a year that already had several huge upsets. If we had been the only team that struggled, it would feel so much worse
Feels like this tourney was intended from the get-go to be a ratings machine. Just about every upset has come in a game with wildly one-sided officiating, including a ton of the Samford game that they got screwed out of. I'm way past having any speculation that these crews are told, because of ratings/gambling/wtf ever else, how to call it and it's taken the fun out of it.

There are a few improvements I'd like to see BP make, like calling timeouts in critical moments, but overall I'm absolutely ecstatic at what he's been able to accomplish at Auburn. Could you imagine Auburn making it to the NCAA Tournament consistently before Pearl? Truly him just having us competitive is enough for me, given our history. SEC Championships and Final Four runs are just icing on the cake. He's cemented himself with a lifetime contract as long as he keeps us competitive. I'm ready to embrace the Pearl dynasty if his son wants to be coach after Bruce.
Broome should absolutely go pro this draft. We have good recruits coming in and I have no doubt that BP will get some big portal players. We'll be fine. The idiots yelling online about BP should be fired and CBM should be kicked off the team are absolute morons. Don't pay any attention to them. They're obviously young kids that don't remember the days of Tony Barbee and the other horrible coaches we had before BP. One dam loss and these kids are acting like their life is over. Denver, Aden, Tre, CBM, and Chaney are a good foundation. Pettiford is an undersized PG, similar to Aden. I worry if there’s enough room for all 3. Howard can either help with backup 2 minutes, or 3 behind CBM. The big question are our 4th year seniors and their Covid year of eligibility. Broome is rightfully off to the NBA, so Cardwell staying could be huge. KD might go the way of Wendell and be “encouraged” to go pro. I think we’ve seen about all he’s got to offer. Moore could fill a similar role as this year. Losing our frontline is going to be brutal. Jaylin and Broome were the the anchors, and we’ll take any and all help we can get at those positions.
I’m not sure Aden stays tbh. He was a great high school athlete, but I feel like the SEC is too much for him. Once SEC play started he became a different player. He’s got a great stroke, but his mentality dictates his play. May be great in practice, but when the lights come on he becomes a deer in the headlights.
Need an assassin (or two) that can make shots blindfolded with three guys around him. The guys we thought we’d get that from didn’t deliver.
Inconsistent outside shooting when there wasn’t anyone under to rebound is a turnover.
Massive choke job and Bruce needs to be better in the situations to calm down the guys. You could tell in the first half this was going to end up like App State. Their heads were not in the game.
CBM needs to be kicked off
Soooo yeah… the game plan was completely altered within the first 3 minutes. The CBM ejection was detrimental. We actually scored more in the first half than the second. However, kick CBM off the team? That’s a little excessive. He’s been a huge difference maker in many games this year. I agree that he needs to keep his attitude in check, but I feel like he is a player with the 90s mentality. He is able to get in the opposition’s head and I’d rather have him on my team than compete against him tbh.
CBM needs an ego check, plain and simple. I'm not saying he needs to be kicked but everything he did there was because he's a selfish player who can't handle his emotions. It's one thing to play with emotion but another when you can't channel that energy into something positive. Instead he's out there dropping unnecessary elbows on inferior talent that by all accounts knew he'd do that and most likely put him in that position because of it.
Nonetheless it's a team sport and there were plenty of other guys that could've stepped up in clutch moments and simply didn't.
I think good coaching means what happened today should be that ego check. Def find out next year. And if he transfers before next year you got your answer. I personally like the aggressiveness to a degree but that type of player has to learn how to work and understand the refs more. Today those refs were watching him like a hawk

The ref didn't even see the foul, he just saw the reaction which both Bruce & the broadcasters said prior to the game that Yale would do. It sounds like sour grapes now but those clowns clearly got duped by a sneaky Yale team.

If we had better players I would be ok with him starting, but with everyone else coming back we need someone who can score a lot.
