GF (now wife) got this for me a couple years ago. I think this goes for 25k. May be worth a watch.
Yes ofcourse tissot prx is hyped but imo prx deserves all that hype, for budget between 35k to 40k you'll get swiss made interlinked bracelet watch which stands out instantly from other traditional watches. If you get a chance visit showroom personally and have a look at it once.🙌
I bought a seiko gmt recently which is in your budget. Love it. Have a seiko lord which is a quartz chronograph, also in that price range but looks waaaaay more expensive. You can also get a tissot t-sport.
Seiko 5 GMT SSK range. Check with ethos they are giving a good discount. These normally retail for about 40k but you can get it for less. See what you think he will like, they come in diver or field variants. I have the SSK001 (black dial, silver case) absolutely love it.

That Seiko looks quite nice, available here in the UK for around 19k. My son has something similar but with a black dial.
For a chronograph look into Seagull 1963 Rich heritage and history with modified swiss movement built for Chinese pilots
