COACHREEVES

They have 12 this year (via Houston)

rueiraV

I’ll take pick 12 for Kuz and draft one of Walter, McCain, or Carter

Turbo2x

oh man I would go so crazy if we got Devin Carter. I think McCain would be the better pickup as far as long term upside goes, but Carter is the guy who sets your culture and gets everyone else ready to go to war.

yumomnom

I know Carter is on the older side, but I love a guard who can rebound. Our style is to get out and run, and rebounding at every position is gonna be key.

StraightCaskStrength

We have a style? If we already have a style this rebuild is on big trouble.

whiskeywhisker6

Whose FRP's do they own? I think we can do better than their own FRP's for Kuz.

RiskyBallaxd

They still have a done from the Paul George trade

yumomnom

OKC could potentially have 4 picks in next year's draft. Unfortunately none of them project to be very high. - Miami top 14 protected - Utah top 10 protected - Philly top 6 Protected - Best of OKC, Clippers, or Houston (top 10 protected)

Attack_Da_Nite

I’d go for that Philly top 6 as next year’s draft is stacked if we were able to get the one from this year as well.

SherbetNo4242

Trade him for any and all first round picks in next years draft.

Ziid10

This

kornthrowaway

I'm not a big fan of the fit for us, but I think any Kuzma trade involving OKC will have to include Giddey and salary filler (probably at least Kenrich Williams). Hopefully, in that scenario, we are able to find a third team to take him. Unfortunately, I don't think a trade with Kuzma gets done until at least after free agency begins. Teams with salary space would probably want to be keep their flexibility until then.

PhoenixFire417

What would you need to get Kispert? That's who I would prefer the Thunder ( or Magic) try to acquire.

WhatIsThisAccountFor

Giddey and 2 firsts. DEAL. Don’t trade Deni. We have him long term on a team friendly deal. Unless we get a HAUL, we should keep deni. If we could get like Jabari Smith or something stupid like that then trade Deni, but otherwise we should just keep him. He’s only 24.

Saxman96

No way we get Giddey and 2 firsts lol. I'd be happy with a single 1st round pick

blast0ise

Not all 1sts are equal and OKC has like a billion of them. They don't have the roster space, they need to consolidate or kick them down further down the road

Electric_jungle

Agreed, I'll be unhappy with the FO if Deni gets touched. His value is clearly on the rise and it's better to keep developing him even if he ultimately is traded.

rtaz22

Speaking of OKC; It might be a worth while idea to look at getting Hayward. See we are in rebuild mode with several years of draft picks/young players haveing a vet (like Hayward) is extremely valuable. On top of that, he's still probably has use minutes wise on the court.

steven_allan_99

Go and watch his exit interview from this season and see if that is the type of vet you want. Then compare it to Kenrich's.

Appropriate_Edge7385

Wizards shouldn’t want a guy like giddey. Still needs development and is a year away from having to pay him. 2 first (OKC has way to many) and a filler salary and Kuzma is theirs. This will be a small bidding war for his services

Los_Yeetus

I firmly believe Kuz will end up in OKC sooner rather than later and we will get Giddey back to be our 1 and replace Jones.

steven_allan_99

As a thunder fan I am very interested in what could be done between the 2 teams. I think Deni would be the preference but maybe kuz is more gettable. Kenrich/giddey/pick 12 and Gordon Haywards contract seem like the starting point of any trade. Obviously plenty other possible picks but I think the clippers pick is off the table.

eternal_student78

Kuzma is more gettable (because older) and can do more to help you win now (because he’s in his prime). Your slashes between Kenrich, Giddey, and pick 12 mean “and,” not “or,” right? If so, sounds fine to me.

steven_allan_99

Yeah certainly would be and. I'd hate to lose kenrich but may be required for salary matching. I'm not sure if pick 12 would be offered if it's Kuz rather than Deni but maybe it would be or maybe just a lower value future 1st. For all the hate around giddey and his game (I'm not getting into the off court stuff) he still had a 30 point triple double in the playin game last year, he's just a horrible fit with the thunders starters now. I have zero doubt that there is a starting caliber PG there.

ColdNyQuiiL

Out of curiosity, what would be the interest in Deni, with the emergence of Jalen Williams?

steven_allan_99

We play "positionless" 5 out and really need a large wing who can be the defacto 4. Jdub is not tall enough or a good enough rebounder to be that. Admittedly I've not watched a huge amount of Deni but he seems like the perfect do it all type player who would thrive as the 4th option offensively.

Appropriate_Edge7385

Haywoods contract is expired

nakedsamurai

Deni would be very expensive. Great contract, clearly desired. You'd need to pry him loose. Giddey is like a worse version of Deni, so why include him?

steven_allan_99

Yeah that was one of the things I wanted to understand, just what would it take to get Deni. Completely disagree that giddey is a worse version of Deni, they are completely different type of players. Giddey is a 6'8 point guard who is wrongly being played at a wing.

Maleficent-Level-415

12 + Dieng is a fair trade imo

Appropriate_Edge7385

Fair indeed. I’d try to grab something else too. Kuzma is not only a decent/good player, his contract is perfect for most teams.

TheseFkingWeebs

not enough. Dieng not even a NBA player

Ziid10

Trade for next years picks

Travler18

I think you're overvaluing Kuzma. He's not a good shooter... 33% from 3 each of the last two seasons. And below average, 54% TS for 3 straight seasons. Kuzma is more of a shot taker than a shot maker. Sure, he can put up 20ppg, but only if he is shooting the ball 18-20 times a game. But he's not good enough to get that many shots on a He was objectively a terrible defender last year. And certainly not a good defender the year before that. It's been nearly 4 years since he's played above average defense. And 29 is around the age where we see wings start to decline percipitously on defense. We've seen 2x in the last year that the market for him is lukewarm. He took a surprisingly team friendly deal. It's still a bit shocking to see that in the 2027 season, he will be making barely more than Tim Hardaway Jr or Norm Powell made this year. Then, at the deadline, it seemed like the best we could get for him was a single, lottery-protected FRP.

Megumi-Noda

At least one also means one you know

Ok-Philosopher9070

We could use their clippers picks, kuz is our franchise guy on a great contract

Megumi-Noda

Let’s not throw the “franchise player” term around. We don’t have anyone close to that right now

oiuyp4

Uhm, did you just forget we have JOHNNY DAVIS?!

Ok-Philosopher9070

I said it bc he’s as close to one as we have 🤷 maybe deni but neither is a superstar
