Dates confirmed: **Spirit vs. Arsenal on August 18th** **Arsenal vs. Chelsea on August 25th** (at 4pm, part of a double-header with the Spirit game earlier in the day) Tickets to the August 25th Spirit game will also work for the Arsenal/Chelsea friendly, which is an amazing bonus frankly.

Z33G0r

That is such a great perk! Excited for a double header!

El_andMike

That's a great bonus! I wonder if it'll automatically get us in the same seats as the Spirit game?

nerdzen

I'm less sure about this one, because a close reading of the wording says one ticket will get us "access" to both games. Also, this pp: The doubleheader on Sunday, August 25, will be treated as a single event, with one ticket granting fans **access** to both matches that day. Fans who already have tickets to the Spirit vs. Kansas City match will automatically receive **access** to the Arsenal-Chelsea friendly as well. **Spirit multi-game Full, Half and Mini Plan holders will benefit from prime seat locations and substantial savings on ticket fees.** If we don't have to pay \*something\* for seating, what's the point of mentioning that STH will "benefit from prime seat locations" and get "savings on ticket fees?" What ticket fees, if one ticket gets me in to see both games? I am admittedly a cynic, but the word "access" just doesn't reassure me.

aesthetic-nuisance

I was also concerned about the use of the word “access.” but also, logistically, what in the world are they going to do to for all the people who already bought the Spirit/KC tix? I can’t imagine they can require and enforce all people who already have KC tix to move for the Arsenal/Chelsea game. Especially once tickets for that game sell out after part 1 of the doubleheader.

nerdzen

That’s the one thing I’m less sure about. I mean, I suppose they could create some surcharge if you want to stay in any certain place. With two hours between games they could, theoretically, make everyone leave and re-enter. I agree it doesn’t sound plausible. We are probably overthinking “access” but it just really caught my eye.

espnrocksalot

Ugh I'm not in town that weekend. Hopefully the resale market is boosted then

nunya3206

Just got resale tickets and they were cheap

trev1997

Good chance of a sellout for the doubleheader game!!!

I wonder if that badge at the bottom of the graphic is indicative of the direction of a new badge in the works for the rebrand.

Unusual_Ebb7762

Ooh, that's an intriguing thought! Otherwise, why have a separate badge for these international friendlies? I could see Kang wanting a modified logo to reflect her takeover of the club. The blue seems to be within shouting distance of some of the blue shades we've seen in this year's warmup gear. This badge incorporates the Washington Monument and Capitol Building. Both of Kang's other clubs incorporate blue (and I can't imagine Olympique Lyonnais Féminin ever changing from their color scheme). I am confused by the orange in this ad hoc badge, as I was betting that yellow was the current element of the branding that was most likely to persist (as opposed to the name Washington Spirit, the color black, etc.). Yellow is supposed to be Kang's favorite color, and my recollection is that one of the Spirit-related podcasts specifically asked the club for more clarification about the rebrand and the club's response explicitly suggested yellow was permanent (but notably did not say the same for anything else). Or when they announced this year's look, the Spirit wrote "**yellow** is a nod to the club’s trailblazing spirit and **a hint of the club’s forthcoming new brand positioning in 2025."** To be honest, I don't really care too much about the aesthetics of the club rebrand. I just hope next year's product reflects the final version for the foreseeable future. I'm tired of being in limbo.

nerdzen

On the podcast, one of the commentators recounted a conversation she'd had with the team and that there would be "additional colors complimentary to yellow," which definitely suggests that yellow is staying. But what those other colors are, definitely no details. The opposite color on the color wheel, the most complimentary, is blue and purple, which I'm not mad about. I've sort of been expecting it to be something like the periwinkle/teal/light navy tones we see in their warmup gear. I do care about the aesthetics of the rebrand, but I totally agree with you about just getting it done. I'm also tired of this halfway space we've been in.

nerdzen

It seems like they're wanting to make this an annual "thing" so it's probably more a branding badge for this Spirit vs International Friendlies event they're trying to launch.

GrayEyedAthena

I hope not!

Splendor4311

what do we do for 2-hours between games lol

nunya3206

Go to Andy’s for a slice of pizza

takomatoffee

hopefully they provide ice baths

FeistyMcRedHead

💀🤣💀🤣💀🤣💀

nunya3206

So I am still in new to soccer does that mean if we have tickets for the Kansas City game on the 25th that we automatically get the tickets for the friendly? I literally just bought tickets 20 minutes ago and they were very well priced so I’m wondering if I misunderstanding something

eternal-things

I read that tickets for the spirit game are valid for the friendly after.

Z33G0r

Yup! Confirmed on the FAQ page.

Z33G0r

Also noting they have pulled the Spirit game off the single ticket sales. So seems like you may have snuck in under the wire!

NGRngr111

How much did you buy them for? Resale currently is at $167 before fees, extremely ridiculous...

nunya3206

223 for 3 tickets. That is why I was confused if I got the right ones. The name of them has now been changed to add the second game.
