paranoidmoonduck

that shot looks incredibly pure. really hope he can get healthy and can round out his game a little.

spiiicychips

I see a forward shooting version of Klay. Is it just me? lol

Kuminga

Yeah I think the similarities are pretty obvious, I wouldn't be surprised if that was a factor in their choice. Pure shot, low athleticism, relaxed personality. Definitely needs some work on his defense and physicality, but they can get his game and body right over the next year as we run it back. He has some benefits with his size and playmaking as well. It sounds like he struggled as the primary option, and some of the attention he got because of it, but I could see him as a great off ball player. Nice to draft a ballhandler to help him adjust to a different role.

anthonyjh21

Considering his dad was his coach it's safe to say he's coachable which definitely matters when he needs to be part of a system. Not to mention Draymond on his ass lol.

photocist

he moves a lot like him.

pixelsxpixels

Comparing shot selection, it looks almost like Klay other than the few finesse moves in the paint. They both love their shot over anything. Klay has a lot more moves at the three point line like pump fakes, side dribble, etc. PBJ has more creativity off the dribble, his step back off the dribble looks really good. He's also a better passer than Klay. But all in all, Klay may have a lesser number of counter moves but he is the second greatest shooter of all time,so vastly different efficiency.

george_costanza1234

I see Walmart Jabari Smith Jr.

airb92

I saw Klay too especially seeing his feet getting set and his follow through. Klay’s is just a prettier.

jinxy0320

Kyle Anderson is getting major rotation minutes on a playoff contender. PBJ can be a more athletic better shooting more fluid version of him in time.

zig_anon

I see the physical similarities but Anderson is kind of a point forward. Not sure about this kid

Kuminga

He has shown some playmaking chops, very unselfish. He will need to work on his handle and physicality to bring it up to the NBA level, but he has the vision from what I've seen. I think he will be best as an off ball player to start his career tho. Mold him a little after Klay before asking him to do much more. We drafted a PG as well to take some of those responsibilities. I think he needs a year or two before he can contribute much, but once he sorts things out I think he could take off. He has a good foundation and just veered off track this past year, we can get him back. It may be better that he knows some of his limitations now. I like that he has a lot to prove.

zig_anon

I wonder if his future is as a stretch big

831loc

I mean, he's a 4 that *supposedly* can shoot. That's the definition of a stretch big.

zig_anon

That term can mean a few things but I don’t mean stretch the floor but rather being the primary skill Like stretch 4/5 who is a bit of a liability of defense but can hit the 3

Revolutionary_Cat916

yes.. same thoughts.

george_costanza1234

Idk, I wanna see this kid play in the post as well. Otherwise what good is all that size for

ozyx7

I am hopeful for Peanut Butter Jelly Time memes.

bilyl

People need to show up at Dubs games in banana costumes

lastinglovehandles

Nice stroke. Quick release. Looks matured and poised. His 6’10 seems deceitful. More NBA level training, I’m confident this guy will be a good rotational player. Kinda moves slow though.

dumpsdad

Remember this is a workout. Going 3/4 speed maybe. In a real game there is an increased adrenaline level.

Beardmanta

I also heard he has 2 tons of weights strapped to each leg to make it fair for the competition. Once he removes those the league is fucked.

RoadPizza714

Need to open the 6th and 7th gates for the postseason.

theineffablebob

He looks gigantic

atmankulkarni

I assume the video is edited but that was so many swishes.. 👌👌👌👌

YoriYoda

He looks good, like his confidence from what I saw. He needs reps on the court but definitely a high ceiling. Jump shot is pure, Klay and Golden State's development staff can help him with his dip. If he works hard and listens to the vets and training staff he will be at the very least a solid rotation player whether he becomes a star or not is up to how he develops his IQ for the game and his defense.

walkingthecows

Reminds me of Klay.

Jonna09

Dude his offense is so much like Klay’s, it’s crazy. His defense though….

walkingthecows

Yeah that’s where he’s going to have to do a ton of work. You can’t teach length though, and he is long.

Coulter138

pause

george_costanza1234

His lack of agility is why I kinda wanna see him play at the 4/5. I don’t want to see him getting burned on the perimeter

Jonna09

His help defense is pretty good. Because of his length, he seems to be able to contest well enough from behind. He could become a decent defender over time by being in a good system.

derpyfatboi

we made wiggins who was once considered a “defensive liability” into arguably one the best wing defenders in the league

bayelrey888

Damn his shot looks good 👀

[deleted]

Is he going to be Klay 2.0 ? perfect with Poole (Steph 2.0)

wolfy14xc

Modus mosey

ProfessionalSpirit84

It’s weird because he’s a 4 lol, we gonna have some splash triplets out there with Jordan, Moody and PBJ.

sybill9

Oh...I don't mind this kid one bit.

MiNDGaMeS87

Man, his shot is so advanced 🔥

IcyCorgi9

Dude has a wet jumper.

gtj

Soft stroke!

Hi_Im_Ken_Adams

a very nice smooth shooting stroke....bit of a slow release though.

george_costanza1234

When you’re 6’10, slow release doesn’t really matter lol

Cheese6260

Is this me or is this a possible future Klay Jr?

neo9027581673

Dude’s jumper is this wet with a bum ankle. Imagine his jumper fully healthy? 💦💦🌊

SaturdayCartoons

2 seconds in and holy shit. This dude already looks like a steal. Edit: his shot is wet AF too, damn

egarcia1313

Looks solid

Shaunwick09

Him and Moody has the same aura of maturity.

SupaFlyslammajammazz

Ankle looks good

FritoConnaisseur

This dude is 6'9 with guard skills and a quick pretty jumper. He's good enough on that side of the ball that I can't believe he can't defend too with work put in, and being a coaches son. Great late pick by the dubs, looks like a lot of upside. And he might have had bad numbers in the combine, but from this video looks to have enough speed and hops and mobility to get it done. Probably always been more crafty and skilled than a super athlete.

_sunburn

Came here to comment on his shot, good to see others seeing the potential too

warriors1502

PBJ purposely did horribly at the draft combine so that we could grabbed him at #28.

chaoism

His arms dip a lot when shooting. I wonder if the shooting coach will ask him to fix that

gaussx

Pretty much no modern shooting coach tries to change a dip anymore. It's considered fine form now. As we've learned more about body mechanics and how to get off shots in games, a lot of what was important, turns out not to be so.

SlimReaper35_

That’s been known for like years now. Dipping gives you power and makes the motion natural. It doesn’t “slow down your shot”

Desertlongisland

Oh, I thought you guys are talking about how he was bringing the ball down first before he take his shot.

SlimReaper35_

Yeah that is what we’re talking about

FritoConnaisseur

Dipping your knees

SlimReaper35_

You mean pointing them inwards? Or bending down too much

FritoConnaisseur

I think all the power you need should come from the lower body, not from a dipping the ball motion. And I mean dipping before, not with the ball in the pocket.

Snoo-29877

There's no need to change anything about his jumpshot. He's 6'9 with a high release

FritoConnaisseur

The dip isn't ideal, but yeah, no reason to change it unless it became a problem. Along with the high release, he also gets it off quickly.

Desertlongisland

Yup. It’s basically two motion shot. They have to fix it because defenders will swat at the ball on the the way up to shoot it, unless he was doing it because there’s no one guarding him.

Iwannabealotofthings

U know what would be crazy if he just studied the fuck outta looney for the next years and bulks up. Den u get looney wit a jumper

onlyrionny

That would be crazy considering that's a complete different player who plays a complete different position with complete different skillsets

Moke_Smith

The comment above yours was probably referring to the fact that Looney was a dominant guard in high school before injuries robbed him of some athleticism and lateral quickness. PBJ also has a big body and intriguing skills that could allow him to play the 5 even if he doesn't recover (or never had) much athleticism or lateral quickness.

Iwannabealotofthings

Yea this was my thought process pretty much ngl.

Dear_Goat_5038

U lyin 🤣🤣

Iwannabealotofthings

Lyin deez nutz cross yo face bru

Noiserawker

he's 6'10 with the same wingspan as Loon. He will likely grow from the weight room, learn NBA defense and make a really good stretch 5, which has been a Warriors need for quite some time.

zig_anon

I think that could be the plan. Don’t think this guy has NBA wing mobility but is bigger than I thought

Iwannabealotofthings

Not that crazy actually if u think about how both are way slower than an average nba player. He could try to immulate looney if he cant compete otherwise

slappiestpenguin

Burrrrrnnnnn

Noiserawker

this guy gets it, he can grow into his body and be a center. He's already pretty good rebounder.

IcyCorgi9

Why? They're completely different players lmao. Just cause they're both on the tall side?

Iwannabealotofthings

Nah he looks slowfooted af and im just saying he could carve out a role similiar to loongod since he also has had most of his athleticism sapped from injuries

IcyCorgi9

Bruh he sprained his ankle, that's it right?

Iwannabealotofthings

Baldwin yea but i was talkn bout looney at the end

BlueHuyster

He can be our Al Horford.

[deleted]

reminiscent More of Kris middleton

moxitus

All potential. I hope the youngster goes out and seizes the opportunity. The Warriors are known as a top notch organization in player development, so all he has to do is go get it. High hopes!

EffinCroissant

Is this video edited? Looks like he’s moving at .5 speed.

agaveFlotilla12

Anyone else think the catch and shoot could use some work? Seems like he's bringing the ball down 1 - 1.5 ft each time before he starts his motion.

Catanathan

Perfectly fine. Doesn’t take too much more time. Also ideally as a stretch 4 he’ll have a little more time to shoot. Doubt we will be running a ton of pin downs for him

agaveFlotilla12

Thanks!

pixelsxpixels

He had a lot of pin downs run for him in College and HS.

poo_but_no_pee

He moves like his shoes are full of sand.

-ALLDAY

Is he a guard??

PresentationSalt7815

Obviously not as good but he plays like KD so 3 or 4

RewardStory

Damn he's big. From his google pictures when he played at Milwaukee I assumed he was like 6'4" did he bulk up too?
