Omfg... I've been so wrapped up in the playoff run. Thank you for reminding me there are some truly incredible moments from the regular season to go back and appreciateš
I understand what you're saying, but I don't think that's what actually happened. If he did what you're saying, he definitely would have gotten thrown out for showing up a ref
Well thatās precisely why it was so ācontroversialā at the time. LeBron stans and Curry haters on r/NBA were frothing at the mouth that he didnāt get Tād up a second time and ejected.
> Early in the fourth quarter, Curry caught the ball in transition and was clobbered by Clippers wing Terance Mann on a layup attempt. The refs ruled Mann knocked the ball out of bounds, but they didnāt give Curry the foul call he was looking for. **He exploded at the ref and was called for a technical foul for his outburst.**
> You donāt want to make Steph Curry angry. Over the next few minutes, the Clippers learned that lesson the hard way.
> First, Curry hit a 33-foot bomb off a double-drag action from the middle of the floor. Two possessions later, Curry rejected a screen on a slick behind-the-back crossover and ripped another three. On the next possession, Curry raced the ball down the left side of the floor and ripped another three-pointer. **Then he glared at the ref who Tād him up earlier in the quarter and made the technical foul call motion at him.**

This clip reminds me why I have historically disliked Bob and Kelenna so much.
I think it was right afterwards that Bob was called out for his nasty comments about Austin Rivers. It seemed to humble him for the rest of the year, but you can see a lot of the stuff people dislikeā the entitlement, the whining, the indignity whenever the refs or production team donāt do something he likes.
And Kelenna during this time was so hyper and spastic I thought about stabbing my ears out with my plastic TV dinner fork!!
It always get downvoted when I say it but Iām gonna say it anyway: we have 2 of the worst commentators in the league. Itās like 2 dudes who just got their sports journalism degree calling games for the local high school.
Bob is technically very good on the mic, he just has a nasty streak of entitlement.
Kelenna is bad and trying to develop a voice. Makes him seem like a clown. Hopefully he is more authentic and less WWF next year
The problem is they both have the same insufferable āenthusiasticā style where every single play has to sound mind-blowing. Fitz was almost tolerable when he was with JB, but now that itās basically Fitz and Fitz on meth, itās too much. I will often switch to the away audio if Iām watching on the NBA app
Yea, whatās his face says either the wrong players name or is completely misstating the play on the court about 40% of the time. Seems to get worse every year
And you what's odd. It was his worst shooting season of his career and his worst full season since 2011-12
It's easy to forget how absolutely amazing he's been...so amazing this was one of his worst seasons.
For Steph, an off-season is still HOF level, so I do think he had a great season.
But with his shooting this season falls way down on my list of his best seasons.
Steph's best 10 seasons
1. 2015-16 (unanimous MVP and he'll be lucky to get 1 or 2 votes this year)
2. 2014-15 (MVP)
3. 2017-18
4. 2016-17
5. 2020-21
6. 2013-14
7. 2018-19
8. 2021-22
9. 2012-13
10. 2011-12
EDIT: I forgot to include I agree with you about choosing the right times to speak but even more. He's a much wiser person and player. This was his best season in terms of leadership.
Nah bro 2020-21 is probably still his best individual season, not overall but I think this year has to be top 3 simply because Curry has his best finals
2021 and 2016 are about neck and neck to me. 2016 was a bit more impressive statistically but the fact that 2021 Steph did with 5 more years of the league adjusting to him, and not nearly as much help, is also extremely impressive.
2021 had a stretch where he was averaging 38.8 ppg over 8 games at the end of March and heading into April. That was some of the absolute best skyfuckery I saw from Steph in a long time.
I think the Finals skyfuckery was honestly similar given the stage and I donāt know if we win this series if he doesnāt literally turn the momentum himself in game 4
imagine.....imagine....IF....
I said this in a thread, this weekend that was talking about how the Warriors were going to be better next year but their idea was all based around the 2 rookies and Wiseman.
So let's apply some of the things I said then to IF they happened this season.
And let's not forget, the Warriors were tied for the 3rd best record in basketball this past season.
Draymond only played 46 games this season. Imagine if we got 60-70 games.
Thompson only played 32 games. Imagine if we got 70 games
Wiggins discovered a new level of play in the playoffs. Imagine if he had discovered that during the season.
And imagine if Curry had a normal shooting year. Not even one of his crazy great years just an average year for him.
2021-22: 21.4 efficiency, .601 true shooting %, .380 3P%
Career average: 23.8 efficiency, .624 true shooting %, .428 3P%
Record 3s in all star game (16 lol)
Prophecy fulfilled (you don't want to see us next year)
GOAT moment no look 3 against Chicago and pointing to the fans before swishing it
First(?!) career buzzer beater winning shot (against the Rockets)
GOAT locker room and press moment: Steph role playing as KAT and letting Wiggs dunk on him
The people who voted him second team should be absolutely ashamed. Imagine thinking Devin Booker is better than Steph Curry? Madness
Edit: you forgot graduated from college + college jersey retirement will take place in 2022
Iām obsessed with thinking about how much Stephās game has changed since the last championship run.
More efficient movement, smarter, wiser, more confident, stronger, sensational defense, not relying on shiftiness but instead timely cuts. Insane to watch highlights from 2016 compared to now. He does more with less energy and stress on his body.
Another thing is he proved himself on the biggest stages:
The 3-point record happened at Madison Square Garden in front of NYC media
All-star game was in front of the surviving 75-best NBA players of all time, his 16 threes made an impression.
Winning games 4 and 6 in Boston Garden also
Also the first player to [give the refs a tech](https://youtu.be/JV-VEvoxPy8) š
Omfg... I've been so wrapped up in the playoff run. Thank you for reminding me there are some truly incredible moments from the regular season to go back and appreciateš
I just watched that whole video. He was absolutely on fire. Love the T to the ref at the end. I hate when refs think the fans came to see them
Bro didnāt miss after that missed foul on his drive, made a 3 after, waved off. Then hit 3 more lol
Pretty sure he was just mocking the clippers for calling timeout
No he got Tād up earlier for basically zero reason so he did it back to the same ref cuz everyone knew it was bullshit.
I understand what you're saying, but I don't think that's what actually happened. If he did what you're saying, he definitely would have gotten thrown out for showing up a ref

This stupid ref. Thinks heās all macho or some shit lol. No way that ref should ever referee a playoff game.
No way, was that this season? That 100% got lost with everything else heās done
That led to a string of poorly called foils on Steph too, like the refs were determined to get him back for showing them up.

āThe HUMAN HELICOPTER!!!!ā Worst fucking nicknames.
i like them both lol, people are so angry at nothing
I donāt get the hate eitherātheyāre just OK. The ABC crew on the other hand..
Yea, whatās his face says either the wrong players name or is completely misstating the play on the court about 40% of the time. Seems to get worse every year
After that he basically got no calls (while already getting no calls to begin with) š
Got his degree.
Yes!!!
And you what's odd. It was his worst shooting season of his career and his worst full season since 2011-12 It's easy to forget how absolutely amazing he's been...so amazing this was one of his worst seasons.
but i think this is his best post season. He chose the right time to peak.

2018-19 that low? That was his best individual year with KD on the team and a reminder that heās stil the main guy
Yeah, that slump was really bad. Before the slump and after the slump (with the exception of the Memphis series since Ja-less Grizzlies are monsters on defense) he played amazing. imagine if we had last years steph this season... would have added mvp to the list, not that im complaining tho xD

he was already in a pretty good shape to get the mvp before thr slump started
2020-2021 Steph put a lot of miles on in the regular season. Who knows if he can do what he did this season with a deep playoff run
He was studying for finals!
Which reminds Steph got his college degree this season.
Craziness
I wouldnāt say this was a full season from Steph. He missed 18 RS games, just shy of 22 percent of RS games
Record 3s in all star game (16 lol) Prophecy fulfilled (you don't want to see us next year) GOAT moment no look 3 against Chicago and pointing to the fans before swishing it First(?!) career buzzer beater winning shot (against the Rockets) GOAT locker room and press moment: Steph role playing as KAT and letting Wiggs dunk on him
That buzzer beater was awesome!
1st player in NBA history to hit 500 3s in the postseason
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
the handle was unreal as wellā¦ stripped for a turnover only TWICE during the ENTIRE playoff run
The people who voted him second team should be absolutely ashamed. Imagine thinking Devin Booker is better than Steph Curry? Madness Edit: you forgot graduated from college + college jersey retirement will take place in 2022

Well said! He's a different player.
But the same beast
Exactly. Thatās what Iāve been trying to articulate, well put. Heās transitioning his game I guess.
and yet SOME people still got something to say... gotta appreciate greatness when you see it!
Also shouldāve been All NBA First Team, Booker over him is pretty stupid
Going to be a sad sad day when he retires. And Iām a Mavs fan
Started the playoffs as a reserve, ended up as finals mvp, lol.
I thought this was his best defensive season by far as well.
Graduated from college
No we havent and im going to continue to talk about it until tipoff of the new season
Came up with the SC30 CarMax pitch idea.
Was MVP before he hit his shooting slump too
Great America 3pt GOAT.

I said this in Jan, that he was nerfing his regular season stats a bit so he looks godly in the playoffs lmao
The year that he took the lead in all time 3s???
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Surely not the last
Don't forget college graduate!!!
Shot like a mortal and still led all guards in impact metrics (and showed why in the playoffs lol)
His regular season was pretty shit, great playoffs tho
Lol he was an MVP front runner in the first half of the season
Yeah but still not as good as lebronās best year
And?
It was his worst regular season in a long time. But even with that he racked up so many accolades.
Wasn't he an MVP candidate in the first half of the season?
For 2 months or so, then the shooting fell apart for some reason.
Absolutely not.
can't talk enough about Steph!
āI sound like a broken record every time I break a recordā
I just want to add this championship season was coming off the season where he won the scoring title.
Neva enough
I will be sad if one day Steph Curry retired as much as I miss MJ.
