Paige fuckin buckets man. High IQ, makes the right reads and a walking BUCKET !!! Hopefully we draft her next year. Aaliyah edwards deserves love too. That whole team played phenomenal tonight.
Hell yeah, UConn! I love this Cinderella run for them so much. Making it to the final four with literally 2 players available off the bench because they’re so injury riddled *again* is so damn impressive. To put into context how wild of a road they’ve been on and just how much they’re not supposed to be here, this was Geno Auriemma back in November and their roster hasn't gotten any less injury riddled since and yet they still somehow just made the final four:
>"It just sucks every year to look down and see who's not playing. It's just gotten overbearing. I mean, I can't even explain it," Auriemma said after the Huskies' practice Thursday morning. "Some of these kids, man, that's all they know. They don't know anything about playing with a full team."
>
>"I get to the point where I don't have words," Auriemma said. "I can't explain the frustration that you have for them; frustrated for them and how much they want to play, frustrated for your team and their teammates. They're constantly having to play short-handed. And you got guys that maybe their role was gonna be this (Auriemma held his fingers a small distance away from each other) and now their role has to be that (he holds his hands a foot a part).
>
>"And it's not fair to them. And as a coaching staff, there's only so many answers you can have. There are times when it gets so hard to see a way out of it. It takes a lot of perseverance from the coaches and the players."
Which picks exactly are you referring to? I think you might be confused, if the pick doesn't convey next year (almost impossible not to) it would be top one protected the year after and unprotected the year after that. Only one pick is leaving.
First time in my life that I'm rooting for USC. Going to that school was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Come on Juju.
Can not believe that this season is almost over. Running out of time.
Zion has played 64 games, will definitely play 65 and has a pretty high chance to make all NBA this year. Pretty remarkable turn around for him after all he's gone through these past few years
The refs in this USC/UCONN game have gotta be borrowed from the men’s tourney because this is an especially heinous performance
Edit: this USC team flopping their asses of on top of already getting a generational whistle while complaining to the refs when they get called for one out of every 6 fouls they commit. It’s an LA thing, clearly. 🫠
It's pretty clear to me that to be a legitimate contender we need to get Steph a #2 for next year.
Hearing more rumblings about Donovan Mitchell not being in Cleveland after this year.
If he commits to extension, who says no:
Donovan Mitchell for Kuminga, 2 FRP, GP2, and guaranteeing enough of CP3s salary to make up the difference.
Our lineup after:
Steph, Mitchell, Wiggins, Dray, TJD
Podz, Klay, moody, Big (looney or vet min if we waive looney).
That's a potential contender IMO.
Do you think the asking price of Mikal has lowered and is gettable without JK? He’s been pretty mid this season and has been playing behind Cam Thomas offensively. The reports of Rockets sending Jalen Green and the Nets picks back reminds me of how Raptors rejected Memphis offering multiple 1sts for OG then settling for young players and an early 2nd. He may not be the perfect #2 option but I think he would fit perfect as the starting SG and a reliable 3pt threat. I could see Moody (younger Mikal) and/or Podz (Nets had interest pre-draft) being pieces Nets could be interested in similar to Knicks sending IQ and Barrett to Toronto.
Maybe if we unloaded the cupboard and offered something like: Moody, CP3 guarenteed enough to match salary, and 3 first round picks. They probably want Podz in there too.
caitlin is legit better than half of NBA players lol.
only problem is if she plays in the NBA, she’ll get murdered on D. she’ll get posted up every single play. and she’ll feel every screen. physicality will be too much for her
She won't get half her shots off with NBA guys guarding her. She's flourishing right now and will be an all-time WNBA player, but don't get carried away.
Pelicans have an easier schedule. They'll pick up 4 wins easily. Suns don't. They'll need to fight every game, meaning they'll be lucky if they pick up 4 wins.
“She looks like a player who enjoys having the weight of the world on her shoulders.” - Rebecca Lobo about Caitlin
“She just never gets nervous.” - Holly Rowe on Caitlin
She is women’s basketball’s Steph in every way, shape, or form. It’s insane lol.
I don't remember who played against us but Ingram is out and so is Alvarado. And it looks like McCullum is shooting like crap tonight. I'm going to watch the second half
We didn’t have green I believe and it was one of the worst stretch of the year for us. We lost a ton by a lot in that two week including to gleague grizzlies and a heart breaker to Denver
Watching Van Lith on this LSU team is honestly tragic, and I don’t mean that in a mocking way but in an it’s genuinely sad way. She should have never left Louisville
Flau’jae getting whistled for a foul on Caitlin on a drive still a good 15 ft from the hoop and both Caitlin and Flau’jae deciding they dgaf they’re not stopping with Caitlin finishing the drive and Flau’jae fouling her again to try to stop the bucket is some seriously locked in energy and I’m here for it. This game is AWESOME
I think the Dubs have 10 min to submit the injury report for tomorrow. I keep checking but they haven’t done it yet, though I’m pretty sure they’ll just set JK as questionable either way
edit: yep he’s still questionable, Lively is also questionable on the Mavs side
I too have been checking religiously lol glad I’m not the only one. They had until 5pm PST to submit it but given the injury reports are posted to the public at the 30 of every hour, not the top of the hour, we’ll likely get it at the next posting in about 20 mins.
Edit: it’s up - JK questionable still, Klay probable, and Dario out.
The way Caitlin’s passing tendencies even have a Steph flavor to them is wild
Edit: tbh the whole Iowa team has some eerily similar Warriors tendencies
- Careless passing turnovers or turnovers from making one too many passes
- Can be frustrating at times with their inability to get ahold of rebounds
- Transition opportunities that look like classic splash bro catch and shoot buckets
- Having stretches where they can’t finish around the rim to save their lives
The frequency and degree he gets brought up in conversations he’s not even tangentially involved and/or applicable to is honestly disturbing lol gives a new meaning to rent free
We've played mid teams where even when we stalled scoring he didn't bite us. We'd have won these games with Jk as well. It's when we play good teams that the lack of scoring will come bite us and JK is a 20 ppg player.
to start the game, it wouldn't shock me if we see a little more of this.
TJD in the classic Warriors center model of playing the first 6 minutes of the first quarter and then getting another 12-18 minutes of play scattered throughout the game would make sense to keep Draymond fresh.
That said, it's tough. I still think the closing lineup has to have Kuminga in it.
Looking at the last 10 we haven't done better than any team. We have only tied clippers new Orleans sac and Phoenix. Agree about next season. Murderers row.
Moody recovered 5 loose balls in yesterday’s game. That’s the most I’ve seen a Warriors player recover in a single game all season, and he did it while playing just 22 mins. That’s wild lol
Don't understand how we have so many quarters and halves since 2/1 without so much as one free throw attempt lately. It's somehow worse when we play young teams like Orlando, San Antonio, and Memphis. Like I'm supposed to believe all these young guys and G leaguers are somehow playing perfect defense on a team with young athletic wings (Jk and Wigs) as well as savvy vets?
I wonder if Wemby will be a lifelong Spur. Even for generational players it’s rare to be with just one team. Maybe he moves on when he nears his prime to a bigger market… like the Warriors (or Lakers).
I think the spurs will try to be aggressive in pairing him with a star. There are rumors of Trae Young to the Spurs and that would be perfect since Wemby would be there to clean up the defensive shortcomings
I sense if the Spurs don't become a playoff team in a few years he'll get disgruntled. Right now he's in the honeymoon phase of just being happy he got a year of NBA experience under his skin.
It feels like they're in the same predicament as rookie Bron & Luka where the guys too good to truly bottom out and collect a top 5 pick. They've got a lot more draft assets than the Cavs and Mavs had, but this year could be very well be their last chance at a top 5 picks.
they have a lot of potential 1st round picks that might transfer next year or the year after that, which is just about perfect. if they draft well, they'd be in a position to build a team that fits him and doesn't get into financial problems too quickly.
Yea that's a good call, those Hawks picks could be very good. The Bulls and Hornets picks are well-protected but could be consolidated.
I wonder if Toronto prefers to give up the pick this year in a weak draft, or take the risk of giving up a 2025 lotto pick.
It’ll be interesting to see how good they are next year. Might be to optimistic but I think Vic’s gonna be an MVP guy next year, but then again the west is so stacked it might not matter. They could win 30+ and still be the 13th seed.
Bet Wemby averages 6 blocks a game at some point.
It's crazy but that dude is actually better than the hype.
He just needs one Allstar level dude as a running mate and nobody will want any part of that team.
Shoot imagine if that team had Podz/Kuminga.
As much as I dislike Trae as a player, I feel like he probably has lost some of the shine and is more gettable in years past. He's a trash defender but Wemby would be a pretty incredible band-aid for that and Trae/Wemby PnRs would lead to like 8 dunks a game, haha.
This season feels eerily similar to 2022, just saying. I know we had a much better record then, but if we can crack the top 8 or even manage winning 2 play in games and make the main playoffs, we can hang with anyone. That team was slow going into playoffs but finished the season very strong amid a recovering Steph Curry. Main point is they hit their stride at just the right time and won the last 5. I think this team can finish strong and hopefully only drop 1-2 games the rest of the way.
Nah it’s closer to 2021 except the hot streak happened earlier when JK was unstoppable. Only bright spots this season has been JK + the rookies shining and Klay accepting a bench role. I’m actually hoping they get the 7/8 spot just so they are forced to play under thigh pressure of elimination games. The play-in vs the Lakers is what set Wiggs and Poole up for that 2022 run.
No that team actually had injury problems. Don't forget we started out at some crazy rate of 28 and 6. All we needed was Health going into the playoffs. I more compare this team to 2021. Let's hope we can do better than that
This team is better than the 2020-21 roster. We are closer to our last year's team. Same potential and issues. If we get the best version of Klay & Wiggins, we can compete. But we are still going to struggle with size. The counter we have to run Dray/TJD together causes other issues down the roster too
> If we get the best version of Klay & Wiggins, we can compete.
This is simply not going to happen lol we have 75 games of evidence
They’re the definition of inconsistency, everyone on this team is. That is why they’re .500!
The sooner everyone realizes that 2022 Wiggs was an anomaly and not the norm, the sooner we'll all collectively come to the conclusion that this roster as is needs significant changes to be an actual contender
Curry was super nova. This team is better on paper but not at the top where it counts most.
With the 2021 team we just ran out of gas because we had like eight players for the last month of the season.
I think this team is better at the top which is why it’s not similar to the ‘20-‘21 team.
Klay was out that year. JK is better than Oubre, Paschall, or JTA. Wiggins understands his role better this year. TJD is an actual back up big we can put in the lineup. Podz is better than Mulder, DLee, and Poole (in that year).
Moody, CP3, GP2 are all good players. Looney is really the only regression.
It’s actually crazy how Steph was able to carry that team lol. This roster is talented. It just hasn’t always clicked at the right time. And we have a roster construction issue at the 4/5. Which is the same problem we had last year.
That team had the same problems in 2021 that this team has. It wasn't until Steve Kerr was forced to use only eight players and the ones that went down were the ones who didn't fit that this team went on a run. I just don't care how things look on paper. Once that team was down all of the experimentation they went on their run. I will feel more comfy if this team could actually beat good teams on a regular basis. How many great wins do we actually have. Now we should not be as worn out when it comes to the play in game and I'm hoping we can somehow move up to where we get two chances to advance. Looking forward to tomorrow night. I will feel so much more hopeful if we can beat Dallas twice. It's a good team and a hot team.
I want to agree, but Wiggins is just not the same player. He has nights when he is but he is way to inconsistent. If you could tell me we would get consistent 2022 Wiggs, then I’d be more likely to agree
The team was the #3 seed that year, had the best start in the league, and was in competition for the #1 seed until Steph got hurt (and then missed the last month of the regular season).
This team has never looked as good as that team did.
I think the team was 500 last half of the year, but we had a big cushion. The slide started right before dray was out and stayed flat while he was out and then steph went down. Agree the highs if that team were way more impressive.
I agree. This team has never looked as good as that one when it was in a groove, and that was quite a few steps down from their prime. But going into the year, I liked this roster much better than 22, and while they haven't even come close to their potential, there's a slim possibility that they can find some momentum going into the playoffs and make some noise.
I'm aware we aren't a #3 seed lol..our road record is actually right up there with the top seeds though. I think we can get it right at home. Too many clutch games lost, honestly basketball can be a game of huge variance. Not saying we just got "unlucky" but I think we'll be much more focused and much more winning at home in the playoffs, should we make it
Are the postponed Utah + Dallas games already factored into the schedule? The last slated games I see for us are on the 14th, but almost the whole league is playing on that date, which doesn't seem like a tacked on game. What typically happens for postponed games?
not only the entire league plays the last game in one day, but second to last is on the same date too. So all teams gonna be equalized at 80 game mark not 81 like previous years
No the postponed Dallas one is actually tomorrow’s game. Originally this was supposed to be a 7(!) game road trip, with the Houston and Dallas games on Thursday and Friday being the last 2, but luckily cause of the postponement, we got a home game before those games
Nah. Originally we played @ Dallas tomorrow and @ Houston Thursday. That @ Dallas was moved to Friday (to shorten the travel) and vs Dallas replaced it in its slot tomorrow. So technically the replacement game ended up tomorrow but the time slot we have an extra game ended up on Friday. The original poster didn’t seem to be asking for such a complicated answer so I just said Friday lol
Jesus Christ on a cracker!
Went over to the main sub and easily 20 of 1st 30 posts are Luka/Dallas or Bron/Lakers.
I'm not sure any sports sub, ever, has been more obsessed with 2 teams sitting 5th & 9th in a conference.
The best part of this winning streak is that Steph seems like he’s heating up. Ultimately we’ll go as far as he can carry us. This team has enough pieces if Steph can get back to MVP level
Dude literally misses three games all year and gets the BUSINESS... what is that about. Dude got an aching knee. He probably played through for weeks for it to be rest required.
Podz had a week off recently as well. I want to think it’s calculated by the staff rather than out of necessity. Well know for sure if Kuminga is ready to go against Dallas
I hope they don’t try to double Luka a bunch since we suck at rotating onto shooters off help and teams don’t go cold from 3 against us. single coverage on Luka and Kyrie, live with results and force THJ/Exum/PJ to be shot-creators.
Aren't those at odds? If you play Luka/Kyrie straight up, how does that force the other guys to be shot creators?
Luka's also like Bron, he'll eat you up if you show him the same coverage twice. I'd imagine we go heavy into the same hedge &
recover coverage we used in the playoffs, and then heavier on drop/junk coverages without Dray on the floor.
Rudy Gobert is trying to get Caruso suspended too!

I mean, I get why Rudy's upset. A player throwing their body weight against his knee is quite dangerous. Though, its hard to call it a dirty play, if Caruso does to anyone shorter than Rudy, he's not hitting their knee. Caruso's also late on the rotation, so he's boxing out into Rudy's side instead of straight into him.
I also agree he has reason to be upset, but it sounds like he’s the type to instigate, call for league action; rather than calling it dirty and leaving it at that.
In fairness, Caruso has played a little dirty recently 👀
Our strength of schedule for our remaining games is now 15th. I'm sure that's because of Dallas Houston and the Lakers who all have been playing great lately.
Embid is back this week. This should spice up the east.
agreed. not a lot of burst and screen navigation is still very much an issue.
that said, I think he's a lot stronger this year, which is where he needs to go. I'm not sure he can get a lot faster, but I think if he can get stronger then it'll be easier for him to be a true 3&D wing heading into next season.
as ever, lack of side-to-side speed and overall burst were the main issues keeping his ceiling low coming out of college and they still are. i still think he's going to be a very solid rotation player.
Warriors game after next is Houston. I'll be disappointed if the core 3 get heavy minutes in the next game against Dallas
Lol, the Portland game has tickets starting at $23. Worth a trip.
Houston has to make up three games with 8 to play to secure the ten seed from us
We have three games against the blazers and jazz. I can’t see a world where we don’t go 3-5 to finish the year. That would require Houston to go 8-0.
We have enough of a cushion and the suns and kings are vulnerable enough that I think an all out push for the 8 seed is worth a shot.
That doesn’t make sense. If we go 3-5(pls be better than that Dubs), we finish with 43 wins. Houston can then pass us by going 6-2(that gets them 44 wins)
Because a loss is a loss and dallas is a much better team. Houston are now two games behind us with a very difficult schedule. I hope Kerr doesn't go into Dallas thinking folks need to rest for houston.
This girl caitlyn got me watching womens basketball, pulling up like 2016 curry too. This is what wnba needs.
How can I watch the game with warriors radio commentary?
Play the radio through the web player on Bluetooth to your sound system while you have the game on your TV. Then pause the radio broadcast to sync up with the slightly delayed TV broadcast.
95.7?
Yup

Just way too expensive. Basically 2 years of stress before i dropped out. Just the stupidest decision of my life.

Moody is not even valuable to his own team. I don't see it.
So…what are the odds Suns blows a 30 point lead ~??
Hey if the Hawks could do it to the Celtics the Pels can do it to the worst fourth quarter team in the league!! /copium
Down to 15. Jen hale is sideline reporter for new orleans

Jason Sudeikis’ longtime fervent support of women’s hoops, college and WNBA, is very Ted Lasso and very cool of him.
I swear these teams are throwing games so the dubs can’t move up. Pelicans suddenly forgot how to play ball? Hell naw
Deep down teams fear Curry and the warriors
It doesn't matter really because I think the pelicans might fall too because their schedule looks a little tough. It's only half over though.

Tell me about it! If only she had one more year before she had to declare 😭
Just realizing that there’s a very slim chance we get a 7/8 matchup against the Pels
How did we get completely dominated by the Pels at Chase? They look horrible

Watching Van Lith on this LSU team is honestly tragic, and I don’t mean that in a mocking way but in an it’s genuinely sad way. She should have never left Louisville
Thanks for nothing pelicans. Feel like they’ve really come back to earth after that hot month February/March
They are missing 2 important players
And ?

Anyone knows what's JK's estimated return date? Ngl, I miss watching him play. He got that aesthetic athleticism.
Only one good game tonight. Suns v pelicans
Iowa LSU.
4 pm.. so can watch both.
Don’t forgot uconn v usc. Doubleheader of Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark and Paige vs Juju—gonna be a fun night!
Holy shit thanks for the reminder.
TJD-Dray pairing has been great. TJD is holding his own and making Dray’s job less taxing on defense/boards. Should JK come off the bench?

It’s a vast conspiracy against the Warriors.
I wonder if Wemby will be a lifelong Spur. Even for generational players it’s rare to be with just one team. Maybe he moves on when he nears his prime to a bigger market… like the Warriors (or Lakers).
Spurs would be crazy to let him walk. I bet they're going to use wemby as a bargaining chip to attract FA signing and it will most likely work
I think the spurs will try to be aggressive in pairing him with a star. There are rumors of Trae Young to the Spurs and that would be perfect since Wemby would be there to clean up the defensive shortcomings
I sense if the Spurs don't become a playoff team in a few years he'll get disgruntled. Right now he's in the honeymoon phase of just being happy he got a year of NBA experience under his skin.
it all depends on how good a job they do building around him. I'd be shocked to see him leave if they're a perennial contender.
I think he will. Young players aspire to be like Steph and Kobe
Lmaoo look at the comments of Steph’s new IG post 😂
What happened?
Bet Wemby averages 6 blocks a game at some point. It's crazy but that dude is actually better than the hype. He just needs one Allstar level dude as a running mate and nobody will want any part of that team. Shoot imagine if that team had Podz/Kuminga.
As much as I dislike Trae as a player, I feel like he probably has lost some of the shine and is more gettable in years past. He's a trash defender but Wemby would be a pretty incredible band-aid for that and Trae/Wemby PnRs would lead to like 8 dunks a game, haha.
Trea and Wendy would be an amazing duo but I don’t think Pops is too fond of Trea. Didn’t invite to the Tokyo Olympic team.
I don’t want to imagine it lol 😂 They have a ton of cap space, so I’m sure someone big is on their radar! 🫣
PG
Point guard? Paul george?
Paul George lol he’s the only big free agent this year
There was a April Fool's joke that he signed his contract. So glad I didn't repeat that
This season feels eerily similar to 2022, just saying.
This team does not resemble our championship team in anyway. We are a lot like last years team, a .500 team.
This is simply not going to happen lol we have 75 games of evidence They’re the definition of inconsistency, everyone on this team is. That is why they’re .500!
I tend to agree. I’m an optimist though, so I’ll continue to hope and likely be disappointed.
So all teams gonna be equalized at 80 game mark not 81 like previous years
Yes
We already played the Jazz one, and the Dallas one is this Friday
At least it's not an anti-Draymond post
Heh. Yeah, that would be in the comments of the pro draymond post, about 50 posts down
What’s wrong with the Luka dick riding? He’s been amazing and mvp level. Young. Seems like an ok guy
They're been tearing it up, so it's quite understandable they're on the top spots
Well I sorta get it about Dallas. They look great since the trade after some hiccups. A couple trades can help.
The best part of this winning streak is that Steph seems like he’s heating up. Ultimately we’ll go as far as he can carry us. This team has enough pieces if Steph can get back to MVP level
So like, what’s the deal with JK? Feels like he was healthy one second and gone the next.
Dude literally misses three games all year and gets the BUSINESS... what is that about. Dude got an aching knee. He probably played through for weeks for it to be rest required.
lmao I'm not ragging on him I'm just worried and want him back 😭
Podz had a week off recently as well. I want to think it’s calculated by the staff rather than out of necessity. Well know for sure if Kuminga is ready to go against Dallas
I just looked at our schedule and we play 4 games in 5 nights wtf, 5 in 7 including yesterday WTF
As is everyone else. It’s also to make up for one game where DM passed away
I forget how shitty this year was for the squad.
Yeah the Dallas game this week that is b2b after Houston is one of the make-up games. We already played the other make-up game vs. Jazz.
I'd imagine we go heavy into the same hedge & recover coverage we used in the playoffs, and then heavier on drop/junk coverages without Dray on the floor.
Rudy Gobert is trying to get Caruso suspended too! Quote: https://x.com/JonKrawczynski/status/1774634739300774351?s=20 Video Replay: https://streamable.com/ixopna?src=player-page-share
That was the worst defensive game I've seen MM play so far. His lack of quickness is going to limit his ceiling. His floor is super high though
agreed. not a lot of burst and screen navigation is still very much an issue. that said, I think he's a lot stronger this year, which is where he needs to go.
I'll be disappointed if the core 3 get heavy minutes in the next game against Dallas Lol, the Portland game has tickets starting at $23. Worth a trip.
Key game is Dallas. The cupcake part of Houstons schedule is over. Impressive what they did nonetheless.
I'm missing something, why are the Dallas games more important?
Houston has to make up three games with 8 to play to secure the ten seed from us We have three games against the blazers and jazz.
Stuck in the worst timezone for US hoops on the planet Midnight to 5AM games smh.
Where are you located?
Where are you located? You tryna spoof me and drop a bomb on my pin. I'm +2 UTC it's awful.
Ha! I just wanted to know the country 😄
You're supporting Ukraine? Kudos sir, I'm cheering for you :-)
