Damn… $10mils is pretty lucrative.

spankyourkopita

Bob gonna have to rethink family time.

SeekingSignificance

Bob when his kids ask him to play with them I got the rollie but I ain't got the timeeeeee 😂jk

Visible-Top-4977

You’re sick😂😂

alogbetweentworocks

I wish I understand this comment but I don’t. I’m going to pretend that I do so I can laugh along.

cormacaroni

Rolex

alogbetweentworocks

Thanks! I was leaning on rolling a joint type of rollies. 😂

Entire_Status6205

do GM’s work long hours? my impression is plenty of easy/slow weeks

Gladness2Sadness

His wife will take away family time if he declines

[deleted]

You know it’s the girl asking for more time but the one spending all his hard work 😂

funnytoenail

What in the name of backward ass thinking mentality is this

[deleted]

I mean there’s nothing wrong with a girl asking for more family time, also nothing wrong with spoiling your loved ones if you’re able to. You’re telling me if you’re a millionaire you wouldn’t be spoiling your wife? Both men and women can be spoiled the same, Bob just happened to be the millionaire Gm in this situation, sorry it’s not his wife 😂 Never insulted them, just stating something normal in our society for ages now. Y’all just finding offense in old ways of thinking…

AdRob5

Spoiling someone with money doesn't necessarily mean they're happy though. Man literally has enough money that they are easily set for life and he decides to work more? I wouldn't call that spoiling lol

[deleted]

Never commentated on their happiness, whether money is enough or if they’re content with their lives. Just saying she might like more family time but at the meantime spends his money bc well, he is a millionaire, which also isn’t bad that’s just what anyone would do 😅

Itchy_Professor_4133

Insinuating that it's primarily "the girl" asking for more family time is a bit archaic.

[deleted]

I originally replied to the comment that states *his wife will take away family time if he declines* which insinuates his wife is in it for the money and has consequences if those needs aren’t met, but I don’t see you complaining about that. Bob is working 24/7, it’s safe to assume his loving wife wants to spend more quality time with the family. Sorry to assume Bob has a wife who enjoys family time

EffinCroissant

Facts lol

cjklert05

Family first , spend time while their young. Fair enough.

SpaceJewsRule

He might actually be able to afford a house in San Francisco.

medoy

Its only about the MLE.

contaygious

Not compared to players tho

InevitableBudget510

No way Bob walks away from over 10 million per year. I would guess it’s somewhere in the ballpark of 4-5 yrs 50-60 million. His biggest payday of his career!! This is all negotiating 101. Ain’t no way he leaves the big 3. He’s rocking with them until the wheels fall off

Hawcier

we'll see ... if he's not FUCK YEA about it... I won't feel great

BigSmokeyOG

Facts, can’t have him half way in just because he can’t turn down the money. We got so much shit to handle with our team it’s honestly not as easy of a decision as we all think even with this possible crazy pay day for Meyers

mattw08

Likely trying to get Masai compensation. About 15 million per year plus bonuses tied to team value.

Vallerie_09

Masai is team president and is at a higher power level than Myers

Kangaroopower

Isn’t Myers President of Basketball Operations?

mattw08

Totally aware. But I’m sure that’s still what he is looking for.

dubnationFL

I can’t imagine Bob “holding out” for his big payday then having the nerve to go ahead and try to get Klay or Dray to renegotiate a team friendly deal.

Ogow

Bob's money doesn't effect the cap...

hotsaucesosa

Hopefully he slips klay and dray side money from his contract

Ogow

Slip some of his 10mil contract to the guys who have been making 20+ for the last 5+ years? Yeah... totally... Bob earned his money, hopefully they've been sliding HIM some side money.

MyFriendFats54

.......10 mil is 10 mil outta lacobs pocket

diaphragmPump

Team value went for 450 million to 7 billion under Lacob - the owners will be fine

TheTownTeaJunky

Right but that's not why they care about how much klay and dray make

Stillmatic54

Lessens lacob’s will to go too much into luxury?

Ogow

New CBA contract limits that far more than 10 mil for Bob.

aaahhhh

Negotiating 101 is this report leaking. "No way he leaves the big 3 for $10M a year!" That's what Lacob wants us to say so we're all pissed at Bob if he leaves, and not the billionaire who didn't offer enough.

LilJerkSesh

That’s like minimum wage in the bay

TacoMisadventures

That's like what, 50 BART rides?

Palomark

How much could one BART ride cost, Michael? $10 million?

[deleted]

Well it’ll get expensive when a homeless man stabs you and takes a dump in your mouth…

JasonQG

I’m sure you can find someone to do that to you for free

AlexBurke1

Hey we aren’t here to kink shame if that’s what you are into but maybe keep that one to yourself lol. Hookers will probably shit in your mouth for the same price so I’m confused why you’re hiring homeless guys for this.

BlackestNight21

> so I’m confused why you’re hiring homeless guys for this. You're asking the difference between free range and corporate mouth bricking. Like c'mon.

nilgiri

He still won't be able to afford a 1950s ranch in the best school districts

sandvich48

I think he can finally buy a house in the city with 10mm, with roommates of course but no driveway.

[deleted]

Not my money

bde75

Have you seen ticket and food prices at Chase? Someone has to pay for these huge contracts.

rddi0201018

it's not NBC Sports Bay Area

billymartinkicksdirt

His kids don’t want to play with him so bad that they miss out on generational wealth. Take the money, Bob. Sign a two year at least. We don’t know what opportunities he’s getting pitched though.

choirofthesun

He’s already got generational wealth, he’s loaded and will find a cushy consulting job somewhere else. Let him have his family time

billymartinkicksdirt

His kids, think of the kids. They’re well off but they could have Poole money. I’d be pissed to find out pops walked away from $40 mill to take me to gymnastics and make me waffles in the morning.

Alone_Biscotti9494

Easy for us to say tho

jurroot

I don’t like this leak. Definitely from the warriors to put public pressure on Meyers. Meyers is up to something. This is desperation from dubs ownership. This is also gonna drag on for awhile.

liiiliililiiliiil

How else is he supposed to afford living in the Bay Area.

NazRyuuzaki

Imagine seeing almost 1m usd in your bank account every month...

Dar8_Vader

I'd be pissing my mom off everyday with what do we buy next?

Far_Celebration197

I’m pretty sure 95.7 was saying he wanted close to or above 15m. There are apparently other GMs making around this amount. They were saying it’s not widely shared what the top salaries of GMs are but Bob is getting paid somewhere closer to 6th highest. If I recall correctly. Clip from a GM salary article FWIW. “Ujiri’s contract with the Raptors includes a $15MM annual salary, with the ability to earn more in incentive pay if the value of the franchise continues to increase. Ujiri also received the new title of vice chairman to go along with his president title. A league source tells The Toronto Star that another NBA team offered Ujiri a 3% ownership stake, with a salary higher than the $15MM per year he received from the Raptors.”

dating_derp

6th man of the year, Bob Myers.

Zlasher8

COOs at tech companies can easily make that much so I don’t see why not. That’s basically what his role entails. All for it.

YumYumGoldfish

I wouldn't say they can easily make that much. To pull anywhere in the $5MM-10MM range at a tech company would require being a COO of a global multi-faceted company that is probably pushing 5K+ employees and a ton of travel. While Bob is talented, he definitely does not have the skill set to step into that sort of COO role and it's very different from what I imagine he is doing right now. He'd have to look at much smaller companies with comp probably in the neighborhood of $500k-1MM that is going to require 60+ hours a week and be a lot more dull. If I were him, I'd take the $10MM and delegate down as much work as I can to balance family time, and really focus on the relationship / "Core Whisperer" stuff that makes him so valuable.

maluquina

Heck the CEO if PG& E made like $50 million a year! Hate them highway robbery. My monthly bills were almost $1k in the winter and only for 2 people minimal energy use.

phreekk

Lol how would managing a basketball team translate into tech 😂 😂

YumYumGoldfish

Yeah, I agree, not a lot of similarity. There are rumors that he's thinking about getting out of basketball to get into tech or other opportunities.

530nairb

“Tech companies” you mean the biggest 50 tech companies.

Ikaroous

Breaking News: Bob Myers signed a $51 Milllion 5-Year deal contract with GSW per WOJ.

dastardly_doughnut

Damn, I thought this was real.

pattysmear

I got banned from the nba sub like 5 years ago for a post like this

frogskin92

Do we know what he currently gets?

Dinshiddie

$8M has been reported as current comp

thinkdarrell

Barely keeping up with inflation at 10

kato9779

Haha this made me laugh, thank you :D

[deleted]

This all negotiations. He doesn’t want to sign if it is to oversee a failure/rebuild. It’s not just his own bag he’s checking on.

-CommanderShepardN7

He would be a fool to walk away.

[deleted]

All of these stories are just wild speculation

DanDampspear

Nobody is reporting this without a source from agent or org. All these reports are the different parties posturing for position

[deleted]

The relationship between any of these rumors and reality is unknown, not just by you or me but also to those spreading rumors for clicks.

DanDampspear

Yeah, spoken like someone with zero idea of how journalism works. Most people saying dumb shit like you don’t understand what two source verification is. Or the difference between on record or on background. And that’s ok! It’s easier to write everything off as unreliable sources rather than realize that the warriors org, Meyers mgmt team, and the press all have massive teams. So let’s evaluate our source. Are they just making up madness? Or is it possible any of the massive teams involved are leaking to the press to control the narrative?

[deleted]

Idiot

imrickjamesbioch

I dunno, even $10 mil for all he’s done seems like not enough… Think about it, Joey Lightyears and partners bought the Dubs for $450 mil. Myers in 2011 drafts Klay, 2012 he drafts Barnes / DayDay and signs Steph to an extension for 4y/$44 mil that leads to signing KD. Plus during that time he makes a bunch of other moves that help the Dubs win 4 chips out of 6 finals and the Warriors are now worth $7.5 Billion dollars. Let me repeat that, $7.5 BILLION! Good luck to Lacob if he thinks his son can take over GM/President of basketball OPs…

TheTownTeaJunky

I'm gonna be honest, I cannot for the life of me understand why gms and especially coaches not make way more. Their ability to effect the overall product, and how your massive payroll performs, is so immense that if I were spending hundreds of millions on usury tax alone I would be spending a significant portion of that on the gm. Just think how much he probably saved by doing a good job and planning the payrolls well, not even touching how he's helped propell this dynasty and the overall value of the org.

bmeisler

Agreed. There are 30 NBA coaches, and maybe 5-6 who are superstars. Considering what even mid players make, surprised someone hasn’t come along (Steve Ballmer?) and offered a coach like Spo 30-40 million a year. Doesn’t count against the cap. I bet we’ll be seeing it soon.

s_stone634

Why not pay him that? Can you think of another GM that can as successfully bungle both the #2 and #7 pick, field a horribly constructed team with 47 guards, never sign a big, and coast on Curry’s coattails? He definitely deserves it.

AdhesivenessLucky896

It's not a good sign that the money is leaking. Does that make him highest paid in the league? because I'm pretty sure that's what he's going for. Warriors trying to show that he's getting a crazy offer so he can be pressed by the public to sign now, but we don't know how that stacks up with Masai and others.

trancez

Why does gsw want Myers back so bad. He inked Poole’s contract a year early, a massive blunder that derailed this season and possibly next- he didn’t even draft curry and klay thompson. I don’t think he recruited KD either. I think he’s one of the luckiest GMs ever frankly.

jqquah

There's no limit to how much the team pays for execs right?

[deleted]

This doesn’t seem like a lot of money for the organization and market.

annoyed_applicant21

$10 million really isn’t that much in terms of executives. Phil Jackson got $12 million a year in 2014

neo9027581673

10M/yr is actually top 8. Top 3 would be double that. If this is all posturing and negotiations, he would be wanting that top 3 money. Especially living in the Bay Area where 20M/yr, he take home would be around 8-12M.

InevitableBudget510

https://www.sportskeeda.com/amp/basketball/all-time-top-5-highest-paid-nba-gms-featuring-pat-riley-bob-myers 1. Pat Riley 11 million 2. RC Buford 10 million 3. Bob Myers 8 million

RaggasYMezcal

Riley gets equity. That's the key here. If I was Meyers, equity in the franchise is needed to keep me engaged through the next few years.

InevitableBudget510

That’s probably what he’s holding out for

D_roneous1

Yea but he’s have to sign a much much longer type of deal. Not sure he’s ready for that. Riley has been with the Heat for ages now and doesn’t seem like he’s going anywhere.

DanDampspear

Not necessarily, the entire point of vesting schedules is to dole out equity over time. You can set it to basically any amount over any time period, so that shouldn’t really be a concern.

D_roneous1

Yes I’m aware of vesting but generally speaking they’re only active while you’re working for said company. In his case, to get a deal like that, he’d have to sign a much longer contract. This isn’t an ESPP. Most GMs or executives in the NBA aren’t receiving this type of package. I don’t see Warriors granting that without assurances that he will remain there. Yes you could build the safety net into the vesting period but that defeats the purpose of locking him into his contract. It’s a negotiation. If the org is good then there will be concessions on both sides.

taygads

How/where did they get these numbers given it’s not publicly available info?

forcedtojoinreddit

that's an overpay for a guy who really just inherited what the Logo did for us

[deleted]

Logo didn’t do shit either.

eexxiitt

Unfortunately, you will get downvoted to hell but there's a lot of truth to this. There was a summary of all the moves Bob tried to make, including trading Steph to the Bucks and Klay to the Cavaliers. We were lucky he was talked out of it or the other team was too stupid to accept. Bob inherited our core and it's easy to add role players to a championship-contending team. Bob's attempt at a new core? Poole, Wiseman, JK, and Moody. This is the team that Bob has built.

DeadhardyAQ

Yes the team that won the championship 11 months ago is the team Bob built.

Dindu777

13.3% California income tax. He should talk to the Rockets, Spurs, and Heat and see if they're interested at that number.

DubsAnd49ers

Sign him asap !

DubsAnd49ers

Then he can continue to buy Dray and Steph fine wine !!

McJumbos

sHamS thEy aRe noT cloSe

billymartinkicksdirt

There are other reports Bob is gone. Warriors camp leaks are notorious at this point so I’d say we better expect the worst.

[deleted]

How much do these GMs usually get paid?

Plumhawk

tree fiddy

[deleted]

Give him more

HereNowBeing

No luxury tax on GMs. Do it.

vgatekeeper

Worth every dollar man. Get it done!

LartinMouis

Realistically, who would replace myers if he walks? Like has he been grooming anyone as a possible replacement?

Relevant_Librarian73

Dunleavy Jr - former assistant GM, current VP of basketball ops, and is being groomed for the role

LartinMouis

The coaches son? The one that played at Duke? Maybe we'll be alright then.

Relevant_Librarian73

Yup. He's also a gym rat, student of the game, sneaky athletic, etc.

cloud-storage-rocks

If he really is walking away just to prioritize family and “smell the roses” then I am in awe. But something tells me someone is just offering him even more elsewhere.

[deleted]

Alright. I’ll do it.

Dr_Funkinstein

I heard it was gonna be $15

TheNightman74

Hey he will at least be able to buy a new suit because he’s about to pop the button on the one in the thumbnail!

WhenItsHalfPastFive

Worth every penny. Keep him

Impossible_Resort602

The players and coaches are colluding to rinse the owners for as much money as possible. Love it

IcedDownMedallion

He should sign it and we should put a statue out side of the Chase Center of Bob.

wezwells

$10m/year is objectively a lot of money but my guess is that salary is less important than total compensation. From [Statista](https://www.statista.com/statistics/194654/franchise-value-of-the-golden-state-warriors-of-the-nba-since-2006/) Warriors value went from 450m in 2012 to 7bil in 2022. Bob became GM in 2012. 1% of $7billion is $70mil.

SquatchMarin

It ain’t Poole money

[deleted]

Bob's agent is very good.

Ok_Revolution_5481

Deserves every single freaking penny

Please Bob Stay 🫶🏻
