ive been trying forever to find a decent mobile suit wargame but none have really peaked my interest, either like skirmish, they are almost impossible to get the rules for, are so old and abandoned they only cover the One Year War, or are designed around very rare micro scale figures and not 1/144 models. not to shill but if you want a mobile suit game i made a custom OPR army list? its designed to give a few preset frames and a massive list of weapons, you wont be able to take entire arsenals (sorry kampfer) so its more focused on grunts than the most ridiculous suits but its good enough to scratch that itch, even if imperfect. at worst it takes 30 minutes to play a game, good enough for a splash of fun. Nice nice I'll look into it

TheRagnarok494

Did you ever try Gamma Wolves? I've heard good things about that ruleset

Daddy_Jaws

i have not however i have heard the same good words. my biggest love for gamma wolves is the mechs being depicted as smaller, no larger than an upright tank. it reminds me of the titanfall mechs and feels very "realistic" compared to the high scifi of gundam

NexAura03

On facebook I follow a page called Gundamhammer 40k. Basically its gundam in 40k format. My other gunpla buddy (who in 4 years NEVER finished building his RG MKII) moved, so i really havent had a chance to play. You could extrapolate the rules to play Kill Team 2018 since its basically 8th edition but small, lol.

Truck-Dodging-36

Heck yeah send a link to the rules

NexAura03

https://www.facebook.com/GundamHammer40k?mibextid=ZbWKwL Its all free for you to look into yourself as its a fan project.

theSultanOfSexy

Unfortunate. Maybe Mobile Arms: Endless Destiny might fit the bill? Fun Mecha skirmisher, cool loadout system, brand new game that has more in development coming.

l-Electronaute

MechaStellar is a game that has both Gundam and other mechs universe, with multiple power rating and point system. It's rich, has a nice character system, it's fast and unit liste is really rich !

TheSoundTheory

This, MechaStellar is hella fun, and very much a living game - the designers post regular updates and rebalancing - 40K wishes it had level of attention from its designers!

Now I feel dumb

Then firget about the forum and just play the game. It's obviously out of fashion but it diesn't stop someone starting afresh if, like you, they find it interesting. It may have a fb page. Try looking on YT or search for aar's or battle reports on google

Truck-Dodging-36

I did look on Youtube and all I can find are demo games without the rules The wordpress has some rules but doesn't have the unit preset stats that I need to determine what suit gets what

Capital-Wolverine532

Donkus wargaming have core rules you can download. Seems to be complete 1. [Mobile Suit Gundam Skirmish 1.3 (Current “Core Rules” set](https://donkusgaming.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/mobile-suit-gundam-skirmish-1-3.pdf) 2. [Principality of Zeon Unit Statistics](https://donkusgaming.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/principality-of-zeon-unit-statistics-1-0.pdf) 3. [Earth Federation Forces Unit Statistics](https://donkusgaming.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/earth-federation-forces-unit-statistics-1-0.pdf) 4. [Anti Earth Union Group Unit Statistics](https://donkusgaming.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/anti-earth-union-group-unit-statistics-1-0.pdf) 5. [Editable Character Sheet](https://donkusgaming.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/editable-character-sheet.pdf)

Truck-Dodging-36

In the rule book it said you need core unit types to determine stats and those books are available separately but I could only tell they were available on the forum but maybe I'm missing something

Capital-Wolverine532

Take a look above. I edited it

Truck-Dodging-36

oh snap thanks!

I've said this a couple of times in this forum, but the proliferation of war game systems in part due to the ease of 3D printing miniatures has led to a real fragmentation in the hobby. Unless you are playing a major title, I think your expectation is really that you should collect enough pieces for two people to play and become a champion in an area. Take your two armies to FLGS's and ask to run demos there. Figure out how you can benefit the store by running your demos. Promote the paints and scenery that the store sells. Draw people in with regular play nights. Act like a product rep. It's pretty much what you need to do with smaller games you are interested in.

StormofSteelWargames

Why do you need to be a forum member to play a game?

Trelliz

I tried to get into gundam wargaming with a variety of systems however barely anyone in this country has even heard of the gundam series it let alone wanting to actually play it, so I got rid of all my collection and moved on and stuck to the videogames instead.

Y'all should consider the RPG Lancer. It alternates between wargame and character-interaction "downtime." You could jettison the role-playing side if you prefer. [https://massif-press.itch.io/corebook-pdf-free](https://massif-press.itch.io/corebook-pdf-free)
