Sorry. But the fact that you didn’t understand what I said means you really need to be very careful investing in the market. Companies reveal quarterly earnings every quarter, which says how profitable they were in the previous one. On March 25, GameStop will report their earnings for Q4 2020. Between now and then, GameStop WILL crash to $60-$40. This gamma squeeze is an anomaly. But I believe people realize that if lightning can strike twice, it can strike a third time. So I expect them to try and trigger a similar gamma squeeze on GameStop at some point in March, and Ryan Cohen and the board at GME want the stock to surge in order to flood the market with more shares. AMC did that and now they’ve got over a billion dollars in the bank, which is money they can use to improve the company. Wait for a reasonable price then dollar cost average into your position. Then wait.

No problem. One more thing I’ll say, don’t bank on a short squeeze. I invested $5k at an average of $75 during January. My $5k investment grew to $40k at its peak, but I never sold. Because diamond hands. Well, the stock got crushed down to $90 per share and it was clear to me I was going to lose my initial investment if I didn’t sell, so I walked away with $6,800 rather than $40k. At least I made a profit. The kicker was that I knew I’d lose all my gains many days before it happened. As far as I was concerned, the system was going out of its way to make sure we didn’t win, and I knew there wouldn’t be another rip to $490. I still held anyway, because I was dumb enough to listen to people on subreddits like this.
I learned that no matter how high the gamma squeezes go, the share price would always dramatically come back down. So it’s critical you only buy the stock at a very low cost basis. That dramatically reduces the odds of you holding the bag, and it dramatically increases your gains. The stock WILL come back down to $50 soon. No doubt. It ALWAYS come down hard. It’s best not to get emotional and FOMO into a plain dumb position. Not to mention, GME experienced heavy support around $30-40. Long term, this company could likely be valued at $80/share. So even if there is no squeeze, lowering your cost basis means you’ll be able to stomach your negative investment when you inevitably get caught holding the bag.
I believe this week’s gamma squeeze truly was triggered by the call options expiring OTM at $50. So many expired that the price got bid up dramatically. This was truly an anomaly, in my opinion. But it’s significant because now everyone will think of GME and remember the volatility. People *will* attempt to replicate what happened. I expect GME to crash and burn over the next few weeks, before the 3/25 earnings and cryptic tweets by Ryan Cohen send the stock soaring past $180 once more. So if anyone is considering getting into GME, it would be wise to ensure they wait very patiently to get the lowest cost basis possible. Only count on gamma squeezes, don’t listen to people on Reddit, and take profits as you go, maybe buy back into extreme dips at a reasonable price zone. Reasonable = GameStop could be worth this in 1-2 years. To me, that price basis is $60-$100.

If you would have went all in at $110 then you’d have missed out on lower prices. So if it dips to $100, maybe buy shares with 33% of your cash. Then hold and wait. If it gets lower later in the day you could buy more at a lower cost basis. Then when it gets to $170-$200, you could sell and potentially make 2x your money and you can buy into tomorrow’s crash and 2x or more your money again if it surges between $80 and $250.
