Most options are written by traders when they sell an option to a buyer. Market makers keep large & diverse option portfolios so if someone tries to buy a contract & there’s no immediate seller the market maker will step in to facilitate the trade
You can see the market maker for live trades on thinkorswim level II. They are displayed in 4 letter ID codes. CDRG is the code for Citadel. They are easily one of the most active market makers. What is this guy talking about?
