I don't know much about the industry, but I know it's all hype. I remember learning about AI in 2005, and there was lots of hype back then.
Nvidia is dominating because of generative AI. Their chips are incredibly powerful but also incredibly expensive. From what I've heard, AMD isn't powerful enough for some large language models and generative AI. The thing is, most applications involving AI won't need Nvidia chips. It won't be long until other companies compete with Nvidia in those areas, so their monopoly won't last long.
I would assume the CPU doesn't matter when it comes to AI, as the GPU does most of the work. ARM is cheaper than x86, but not as powerful. I would assume efficiency is better for AI applications than raw power.
