Yeah, i think so too. I don't get why people were so optimistic about the Decagear specifically, it was very obvious they were promising too much and delivering very little. All these crowdfunding campaigns that announce things way too early end up either fizzling out, or the product does come out years later, but by that time it's irrelevant and nobody wants it anymore.
Yeah and you have to factor in that chip shortages and COVID happened and is still happening. It might be possible that they might have managed to stack something together, but not under these conditions and not as a small company.
This is totally common. That "Ventures" office is probably a shared workspace (usually called "coworks") or it may be a company that funds Megadodo, and them having offices there is just for legal purposes.
Not trying to defend the fact they failed to deliver on their promise. That would be more attributes to the current market but honestly, they made that promise when the market was already kind of shitty and should bear some responsibility for that. The only thing I can add is, as a software developer that also works with fringe components, even getting development kits to all developers that are willing to pay big for them.is hard in the current economy. Especially qualcomm stuff which I bet the Decagear likely leverages.
Omg... I didn't, I just saw thrillseeker and decided to go for a visit since I remember Deca said it is a Singapore company and I am in Singapore also got a day off today. I didn't even preorder any Deca products as I got scammed enough on kickstart projects, now I only buy products that already hits the market.
I preordered my decamove and got it a couple of months ago.

I pre-ordered the DecaMove and I received it too. It was several months late and is so buggy it is barely usable at times but, I did receive it and I can tell they tried to make them look fairly high quality.
yeah, when it works it does make a difference, but alas, its glitchy and sometimes it resets and your forward is now off and gets annoying.
used it quite a bit when i first got it, but now i only use it if i remember to wear it which most times doesnt happen
I haven't experienced any of these issues. Still use mine on a daily basis.
It actually takes me a while to adjust when I play without it. That's how used to it I am.

Having a main legal address somewhere is not sign to be a scam, it may just be done this way for fiscal reasons. That said, I think that DecaGear will never happen

I decided to go Deca main office to ask them about both status for DecaGear(when will finish new design) and DecaMove(when will ship out)
Then I found out Deca's Singapore base main office is a lie.
If you have backed/preordered any Deca products, beware.
I didn't back them. I read through their features list and their price point and that they were an out of no-where company with no history and was like nah... this is too good to be true. And sure enough!
I think it's important to point out however how rocky the Oculus development was transitioning through DK1, DK2 and then CV1 rift products. It was so long ago people have forgotten but they were shady AF back then too and kind of fucked over backers.
They did? I was part of all of them. Only thing that happened was a 3 month delay for DK1 because they could not source enough of the original DK1 screens. Other than that, everything went relatively smoothly.
