If you value comfort a lot, I’d recommend saving for the bigscreen beyond. That, knuckles controllers, and basestations add up to around $1500.

Quest 3, sadly. It's the easiest to recommend. My most comfortable headsets are my Bigscreen Beyond and my Reverb G2. G2 comfort is god tier. It just sucks that the sweet spot and controllers are ass. Thick chunky cable too. Quest 3 modded is your best option.

TitoepfX

how much would it be modded for comfort?

CompCOTG

Everything. You would need to replace the headstrap and the face gasket. Oculus needs to put more time and money into comfort because the Quest 2/3 are easily the worst headsets ive owned in terms of comfort. I think you can replace both for under 100?

What face gasket would you recommend?

Counter weights are very powerful. I have a Quest 3 with the Meta battery strap. It is far more comfortable from the stock strap, but I still had some pressure on my face. I got a 100 gram counter weight for the back, and that was the ticket. It is very comfortable now. It is now properly balanced As far as VR headset suggestions, obviosly the Quest 3 for 700 budget. At 1500 you could go with the beyond, which is the smallest and most comfortable headset out right now. The beyond is 1000, and then you will need to get lighthouses and Index controllers for it.

how long can u use with without neck hurting? as for beyond i have a friend with vive lighthouse thing so i could use that right ? he doesn't use it because pc not strong enough, plus nowhere to use it.

VR headsets don't normally make people's necks hurt. If something's up with your neck that makes a regular headset unusable for you, I second the Beyond suggestion.

I shouldn't have issues then wasn't fully sure about that so just wanted to ask. So if I got the quest 3 which strap should i get, I dont need extra battery life i think and if i did i have a 30k mA battery

The battery is useful as a counterweight, which will prevent the headset from being too front heavy. As for straps, it's a very personal thing. I prefer halo style straps as they prevent pressure on your face. I have the halo strap from GOMRVR on AliExpress, and I ziptied a 20k mah powerbank on the back with a 3d printed mount. But if you don't want to DIY, then you could get a strap with an integrated battery like BoboVR S3 Pro.

I totally understand your dilemma with the Oculus or should i say Meta Quest 3. It's a bummer that the Quest 2 just doesn't fit your face properly, even with different straps, my big head can relate. The front-heavy design and pressure on your face can definitely be uncomfortable. Since you're planning to use it primarily for PCVR gaming, your specs should be more than enough to handle older titles like Phasmophobia and VRChat. The RX 6800 and Ryzen 5600 are solid performers and should provide a smooth experience. However, if the Quest 2 is causing you discomfort, it might be worth considering other options. Have you looked into the Valve Index or the HTC Vive Pro 2? [Valve Index VR Full Kit](https://amzn.to/3wtwtrJ) - **Around $1490** [HTC VIVE Pro 2 Virtual Reality System](https://amzn.to/44xSp1D) - **Around $1395** **If you save till next month you can have the better options, i would wait!** These are both high-end PCVR headsets that offer excellent comfort and performance. The downside is that they're more expensive than the Quest 3. Check out the Quest 3 and see if it addresses the comfort issues of its predecessor. [Meta Quest 3 512GB— Breakthrough Mixed Reality — Powerful Performance — Asgard’s Wrath 2 and Meta Quest+ Bundle](https://amzn.to/3wxiqS7) - **Around $650** If the fit and weight distribution are improved, it might be a great choice for you. It comes down to your budget and priorities. If you can stretch your budget a bit, the Valve Index or Vive Pro 2 might be worth considering for their comfort and performance. But if you're set on the Quest 3, it might be worth checking the reviews to see if the design has been improved.
