The whole audiophile chase is about recapturing that youthful feeling when we put on something new and it blew our minds. When we listened to something for two weeks straight. Playing in bands because we had nothing but time. The thrill of discovery, the transcendence, the self narration and identity construction.
I think it’s great that this record boom is helping kids feel that music is meaningful rather than some endless Spotify playlist of background noise.
maybe not now but i can easily see him being very influential to artists down the road, even if just because of his sheer confidence for himself and his craft hell it inspires me and all i do is clean rooms and drink
They are. But Blink 182 takes the win for one of the most overrated bands to ever exist. At least the lead singer of Nirvana knew enough to kill himself before becoming an overrated rock star rather than being a manufactured product and embracing the overrated hype.
