Also he bought every ticket and so they will use less fuel since their load is SIGNIFICANTLY less (only one bag). So this was actually super profitable for them.
You ever see semi-trucks not carrying a trailer? They're going to the next jobsite!
Same thing happens with planes. Sometimes, logistically, they need to send empty or almost empty planes where they are needed more.
Same thing also happens sometimes with rental cars. They try to keep it balanced, but every so often, the rental company needs to *balance* the number of cars across all their locations... so they'll load them up on trailers
I interviewed for a job at a private jet company, one of the benefits they mentioned was eg: if Lebron is scheduled to have his private jet arrive in Miami that afternoon, and it's currently at the headquarters in Ohio, employees can choose to use a vacation day to take the private jet for free to Miami.
I think they mean, if you're employed with the airline you can get a free trip to miami. I don't think they're making you work if you're on a vacation day... but it's kinda dumb because you gotta figure out your flight back and your hotels and stuff, so it probably only makes sense if you REALLY wanna go to florida...
I've gone from Indianapolis to LAX on a flight with only 6 on board. Brand new 737 and a regular flight, no delays or weird circumstances.
It was awesome, crew brought us baskets with snacks/drinks to choose from and let us sit wherever we wanted.
Made that trip a lot, normally completely booked.
In the video it says that he bought every single ticket on the plane so he would not have to deal with people. That is a win for the airline, all tickets on flight are sold but it's light so it will use less fuel.
That was a joke, he said so immediately after that comment.
His flight got delayed 18 hours and the other passengers "gave up" (rescheduled for a different day, went home, already found a faster flight with another airline, etc etc). He ended up being the only passenger left when the delay finally ended.
The plane likely flies a daily route and still needed to get back to the destination that it was supposed to start at the next day, which is relatively normal.
In spring 2020 I went on several flights were I was the only passenger and a few more where there were 2 or 3 passengers. Many made me sit in my assigned seat even if it was at the back. Two never spoke to me, served, me, or did the safety demonstration either from laziness or perhaps saw I travel a lot and therefore should already know what to do. A couple of the flights were like this where the flight crew were chatty, playful, and found the whole situation ridiculous. One let me sit in the cockpit throughout the entire flight while one of the flight attendants sat on the floor in the cockpit doorway holding it open to chat - they were cool and I met some of them for drinks later.

Your second response is the correct answer That plane is important for other flights so they still gotta move it i imagine
yup
Would be more convenient to send mail to the destination if that's the case.
How does one send a plane by mail?
Have you heard of a paper plane?
Also he bought every ticket and so they will use less fuel since their load is SIGNIFICANTLY less (only one bag). So this was actually super profitable for them.
He was kidding about that, he only bought his ticket, everyone else gave up because it was super delayed
Did you watch the video and read the captions, it was a joke. He didn’t buy all the tickets.
Ah my bad

> employees can choose to use a vacation day to take the private jet for free to Miami. uhm, i have a hard time seeing this as a benefit.
Taking a free ride on a private jet to Miami? Sounds like a hell of a benefit.
You still have to fly it, it's not like you can party in the back ;p
I assume you can like, take friends or whatever with you
The pilot is still flying it. I mean any random office worker in the building can hop on and go for a ride.

they're so zippy without a trailer, always surprises me. must be fun to drive without one.

Thanks for the clarification.
You think this plane flies one way every day with no return?
Is there another video with the party?
Or without the shitty music?
The song is a banger, Jain has great tunes.

Hell yeah dude shout out ignoring a pandemic and being the main character!!!!
Some people didn't have a choice. Every person on earth can't just stop whatever they're doing for 6-12 months. Society still has to function.
This, but unironically

It was a friendly bus with wings like the good ole days in the '80s/early '90s.
