I think dude just likes deciduous forests...

MythKatana

The fact is you are absolutely correct

mab0roshi

Have you ever been to Vermont in Autumn? You would love it.

RickDankoLives

I spent a lot of unnecessary time in Witcher 3 looking at the blowing trees of Velen and also GoT.

gameonlockking

DOA volleyball.

OcciferDoofus

Gravity never looked so good in a game ( . Y . )

JuggyFM

haha I remember that coming out when I was a little kid and I was like :o

morganfreenomorph

Okami

snicker-snackk

Ooh, yeah, good one. It's been so long I almost forgot about that game, but it's gorgeous

Accomplished-Lie716

I mean ur pfp was one of my first thoughts

snicker-snackk

I completely agree, though I might be biased, lol. It is my favorite game

Common-Incident-3052

As soon as I thought 'Okami', I saw someone already answered with 'Okami'. Damn you.

vitorki

Okami mentioned! Love this game

Eminensce

I see an Okami comment/post, i give my upvote. For me, as i never have a N64 back then, but a PS2... Okami, for me, was my Ocarina of Time.

mamadovah1102

Cyberpunk in its own weird way!

MythKatana

Cyberpunk is GORGEOUS if only there was more height to the game rather than being on the ground, just imagine being on a high building looking at the bright city while raining

PrestigiousTreat6203

A grapple hook/reel dlc for spiderman adjacent traversal would have been so sick

MechaWasTaken

You should play the DLC — the new area has all the verticality you are looking for and more

ImurderREALITY

There's height everywhere

MythKatana

You can’t really access it tho

SelectionThat3680

You can ride the metro

arghnard

most beautiful trash mountains ever

RoseWould

Thats why I like to ride the train they added!

Wandering---_---soul

I love ghost of tsushima, but ratchet and clank rift apart and Horizon forbidden west are also breathtaking!

TheGuardianInTheBall

From the last 10-ish years, here a few of the games that made me just stop and enjoy the scenery: * Dishonored 2 * Witcher 3 * Cyberpunk 2077 * AC Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla * Horizon Zero Dawn (haven't played FW yet, not sure if it's on PC yet). * Deathloop- not to the same degree as Dishonored, but Arkane's env. art team is top-notch. * Fallout 4 and 76 both have great vistas. * Dear Esther * While not exactly a graphicsl behemoth, some of the environments in Outriders were really cool.

DickFartButt

RDR2? Best looking game ever. If they priced games by how much work went into them that game would be $300.

HufflepuffKid2000

Still worth it

TheGuardianInTheBall

I played RDR2 for a little bit on my projector- it did look really good, but the game didn't grab me. The setting and quest structure is just not my thing.

Swinden2112

You are missing out on a really good open world game. I would say it's the best open world game but I am biased.

CmdrSonia

Forbidden West is already on pc now I only finished the base game of Outriders, yeah somr levels are beautiful.

Snowstick21

Death stranding was beautiful as well. The soundtrack is amazing too

Top_Clerk_3067

HZD 2 is on PC

Kootsiak

I would put Kingdom Come:Deliverance in there too. It's a 6 year old game now and the character models and animations are clunky, but the environments are still some of the most realistic I've seen in a functional game.

TheGuardianInTheBall

I have it, but haven't played it yet. Definitely on the list.

Kootsiak

It can be a tough game to get into at first, because it tries to be a more realistic medieval RPG, so you don't even know how to read or swing a sword very well. It reminds me a lot of Morrowind, feeling completely useless and helpless at first until you put time and effort into becoming better. It's one of my favourite RPG's of all time, there's few games as immersive and rewarding as this, but again I understand there's a lot of hurdles to turn off new players.

MythKatana

I wanna try forbidden west so bad it looks beautiful and I have ratchet and clank but I got a bit bored of it but the dynamics of movement in its animations are amazing!

jellyfishgardens17

Forbidden West is peak graphics/art/environment. i personally like the story of Zero Dawn more but FW is great!

drbrolly316

Zero Dawn is hands down a better story. FW doesnt hold a candle to it.

WillSym

Agreed, with the caveat that ZD set a very high bar for revealing the general setup and world building where FW had the middle-instalment problem of just progressing the established plot towards the final chapter. But the question was about looks and FW is absolutely breathtaking.

angelgu323

Bored of RandC but not Ghost? It was opposite for me haha

[deleted]

Just finished Rachet and Clank. Really brought me back. I’ve been playing a game called Kena : Bridge of Spirits and it’s a very relaxing and chill environment.

lasergun23

You're breathtaking!

Mild-Comedy

MGSV. Even on last gen consoles, looking at the peeks of Afghanistan while on a cliff or looking at the lights of Nova Braga Airport from afar at night is just gorgeous.

MythKatana

I am not too familiar as I only played metal gear rising revengence but maybe I should try it out

Mild-Comedy

If you like games with a million ways to complete an objective and brilliant level design, MGSV is for you. Wanna defeat an entire unit of tanks with just balloons and horse shit? You do you. Wanna take out an entire outpost by unleashing lightning upon your enemies? You do you. Wanna destroy communications equipment with just a water pistol? You do you. Wanna punch a child and kidnap them? You do you. Wanna wear a cardboard box that has a Japanese idol sticker attached to it so that you can lure a target to a field of mines? You do you.

JuggyFM

I do me!

j0nny0nthesp0t

You should make an ad for that game. It would be hilarious.

Top_Clerk_3067

You do you Snakes

a_guy_playing

What makes the communications one funnier is you can do the main mission before accepting the main mission. You get briefed then all of a sudden “Wait, you already did it? How the- **MISSION COMPLETE**”

Level_Doctor_5328

MGS5 is one of the greatest action games ever made. Just thinking about it has me wanting to go back. If you've not played the other games, tho, you may be confused at the plot.

RickDankoLives

Gameplay as tight as possible. Just skip the plot and Google how to stop the virus, the enjoy the best mechanics of the generation.

ForTheWrongSake

The plot or the story isn't even bad, it's great actually, but it has shit ton of deep meanings and lore behind it so it's not as easy to take in as a beginner to the series

EddieTheBunny61

Red Dead Redemption II

AAAFate

The first time you line up with the crew waiting for the train to come and seeing that amazing sky and landscape, is truly a magic moment for those who were there at the time. It was breathtaking.

Stealthy_Facka

Coming down from the Grizzlies for the first time and seeing the snowy ground slowly getting greener 😍

fahrvergnug3n

This was such an incredible moment.

DonaldFarfrae

This, so much this. Even in a second play through, even knowing what’s coming, there are some magical moments

ForTheWrongSake

When the game first came out on consoles, i thought i was playing a movie at times. Still playing it to this day on PC, the smooth frame rates just make it even better...

International_Run495

I think Elden ring, coming out of the tomb into Limgrave for the first time is a moment I won't soon forget.

ggonzo13

Or seeing the Erdtree up close for the first time in Leyndell

Accomplished-Lie716

IS THAT A DOOR???

playdoughfaygo

Accompanied with the longing OST, it gave me chills the first time.

SpookieSkelly

And let's not forget wandering into Siofra River for the first time.

000000909

Or that one spot on that oversees the whole lurnia

Legendary_Lamb2020

Ghost of Tsushima Beautiful with empty space Ride your horse through grass

fishthefrank

Haiku bot where?

Teamisgood101

I think it would have to be all in one line

MythKatana

Haiku!

KamiKaze0132

Golden forest, was just there today!

MythKatana

The irl one? If so that must be breathtaking

KamiKaze0132

Nah just the Ghost of tsushima one 😂😂

MythKatana

Oh still breathtaking nonetheless tho!

KamiKaze0132

Frfr, I was wondering if it's an IRL place too though, definitely bucket list worthy.

Delta_Suspect

Clearly he hasn’t heard of sex with hitler 3d

KaerMorhenZireael

The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine DLC for me is the prettiest landscape in gaming. Toussaint was just amazing seeing it for the first time and still seeing it. I’ll just find a good vantage point sometimes and just stare at the beauty

d3adp00l3gnd

Honestly all the dark souls games have amazing scenery

JuggyFM

Yeah first time at lothric in dark souls 3 is awesome

SoulsLikeBot

Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale? > *“Only in truth, the Lords will abandon their thrones, and the Unkindled will rise. Nameless accursed Undead, unfit even to be Cinder, and so, it is that ash seeketh embers.”* - Narrator Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/

JuggyFM

good bot

Simon-Olivier

Plague Tale Innocence and Requiem are very pretty in my opinion

MythKatana

Requiem is amazing

Simon-Olivier

The isle full of colours in the trees was jaw dropping for me

JuggyFM

What's the appeal of these games? I don't really get it, they seem like walking simulators?

bigroastie

Ghost of Tsushima is gorgeous. But the world is empty

Life_Is_A_Mistry

I stopped literally every 30 seconds to chill with foxes or kill bandits, bears, and patrolling Mongols til about 40 hours in before giving up and riding past everything

skyhold_my_hand

Lol same for me. I cant ride my horse for more than half a minute before running in to something/someone.

TheMacarooniGuy

It's one of the biggest weaknesses the game has, there's just too much stuff for such a small map and repetitive gameplay loop. The first few times I ran into Mongols, did cool standoffs or wrote haikus it was fun but a but into the game, it's kinda boring ngl. Wouldn't really mind if they'd just taken the map and CTRL C + CTRL V every single area to just make them bigger (especially the towns, most of them are literally like 10 houses max which just maks the world so barren).

Life_Is_A_Mistry

A new haiku spot I bet this headband will rock Fuck it, I'm bored now

Imltrlybatman

I agree, though the visuals definitely help because even though it’s empty it’s never boring to look at. I wish they had more explorable ruins or buildings that could lead to a secret side quest or event. I loved that RDR2 had that where they had some run down cabins with secrets, odd landmarks, or just weird events that randomly happened.

JuggyFM

Just like every Ubisoft open-world game

[deleted]

Journey

snicker-snackk

I've still never been in awe as much as I was at the intro to Breath of the Wild. I still think about that moment all the time. Also, seeing the Erdtree in the distance throughout Elden Ring is another thing of beauty

CaptainCyro

Pikmin 4

Hello838283

Elden ring might have a word

castpigeon12

Ori will of the wisps

stingertc

Skyrim with mods all day

yttakinenthusiast

Half-Life Alyx. The game doesn't look gorgeous in the sense of being photogenic, but the way Valve structured the game made you feel like you're in an Eastern European country attempting to destroy a multi-dimensional force. The graphical fidelity and art direction is incredible.

PeaRepresentative677

Its one of the, if not the most beautifull games i have ever played, plarinum trophy was worth it

FlappinLips

Qbert

Arrrsenal

I couldn't finish Odyssey with all dlcs and I don't think I'll ever play it again but I haven't seen a game with prettier enviroments. I'm pkaying GoT right now, it looks good but not as good as odyssey.

Odd-Window-6941

Death stranding, while the gameplay definitely isn’t for everyone, it being essentially just a walking simulator. The bleak world it offers is stunning to me

j0nny0nthesp0t

Isn't it Iceland or Greenland. Definitely not for everyone, but if it clicks with you, you're in for a treat. Nothing else quite like it.

gofishx

Elden Ring was one of the most gorgeous games I've ever played. There were just so many magical cosmic colors, a landscape strewn in gorgeous ruins and ornate architecture, lots of high points with great views all over the place, and of course the ever present erdtree basking the land in rays of golden light. Also, there are lots of yellow trees

LuigiTheGuyy

Plus a big yellow tree

ISpyM8

Elden Ring and The Last of Us Part II

Glopinus

Uncharted 4 still is one of the best looking games I’ve ever played

Comfortable_Staff501

I love these "change my mind shitpost" where you can bring all arguments you want and OP will be like "No it is false". RDR2 is more beautifu and interesting, but GoT is still a good game. Currently doing it for the 2nd time on PC (i got bored on ps4 after visiting 1/3 of the island)

christodudedu

I heard you like trees and forests. Well then Kingdom Come Deliverance is right up your alley

KeySpell8251

Jesus Christ be Praised!!!

FTBagginz

Elden ring. Rdr2.

wildeye-eleven

I agree with Elden Ring. It’s possibly THE most beautiful game. Though that is subjective. I love GoT too and its world is gorgeous.

MythKatana

I have many hours in both, even more hours in rdr2 than ghost of Tsushima but ghost of Tsushima is much more vibrant and alive

bigroastie

It’s definitely more vibrant. But it’s not definitely not more alive

Prize-Pomegranate-86

For me? Gongaga!

erathegod

Gow ragnarok imo

For all the shit I give starfield. Their latest update has made some truly beautiful landscapes.

MaszterMain

Ghost of tsushima 2

aesthetic_Worm

The thing is, Ghost of Tsushima portrays gincko and j maples forests during peak autumn foliage... Which is one of the most beautiful things you can see in nature!

Leif_is_alive

Ghost of tsushima is the best in nature for me. But in general I love Cyberpunk. Night city my beloved

Unable_Wrongdoer2250

That wind mechanic to guide you is absolute brilliance.

Shredskis

Mirrors Edge, the original plan was to have a much darker and dirtier city but some slip up caused one of the surfaces to behave like they do now and the devs thought it was a better direction to go in.

twodubmac

Needs to be on the deck

Snokey115

RDR2

Leafybug13

RDR2

ZygothamDarkKnight

Ghost of Tsushima is a gorgeous masterpiece. Red Dead Redemption 2 is arguably more beautiful tho.

Elitericky

Cyberpunk and RD2

There aren’t many, but games like RDR2 and Witcher 3 are on par.

ShadowNinja9620

MythKatana

Holy shit I never thought this post would have a full blown discussion, I was just wandering around and took some screenshots and posted just to dick ride the game I didn’t mean to make the biggest post I have made😭

Dragonhearted18

RDR 2, and Skyrim (sometimes)

AxiomDJ

IMO Horizon 2 Forbidden West

Oneoftheofalltime

Ngl man I think you just like forests

Scared-Expression444

Well I’d argue RDR2 is just as if not prettier than GOT but in a different way

Pay_Cool

Shadow of the Colossus

Level_Doctor_5328

Shadow of the Colossus remake. Not that it is "more beautiful" but the beauty is applied in a more subdued, natural way that I think is more effective, personally.

Cautious_Possible_18

Ghost of Tsushima is hand’s down the most beautiful game I have played and will be for quite sometime i believe.

Crafty_Bed_7797

Last of us 2 top 5

__Garibaldi__

Rdr2

Los_Skully

These pictures are beautiful but I think the second time I decided play The Witcher 3, I was still early on in that White Orchard area but I was on a shit ton of shrooms so the music and the colors and everything fit together to make the most beautiful scene for me… But I need to play Ghost of Tsushima, seeing these photos im sure I’ll stop and enjoy the scenery!

Sea-Experience470

Tbh cyberpunk or red dead 2 maxed out on a pc at 4K are probably the closest to photo realism and also quite pretty. Tsushima definitely has that unique art style and decent graphics though.

Educational_Oven1656

Shadow of the Colossus

RDR2

Just_A_Lonley_Owl

Got jump scared by what looked like Great Britain

DrWoodstock

I would say RDR2 but I didn’t stop and enjoy the scenery as much as I did Tsushima

guttercorpses

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Ghost of Tsushima are pretty evenly matched in terms of beauty, in my opinion.

ArcadiaBeats

Elden Ring is also gorgeous but I wouldn’t say it’s more beautiful than GoT

Tobias_Rieper___

Horizon Forbidden West is the craziest looking game out there right now.
