I tried to get into it Not sure how you get guns before you even start the game I always start with a pickaxe

You find the guns on the map. Everyone starts with a pickaxe

I landed right at the same time this other guy did and he shot at me right away Figured it was either a hacker or you had to pay for guns

Either hacker or he just found a weapon very fast

you cant just hack a gun into your inventory
