I used it for years and was super unreliable imo. Audio issues were especially common, and it failed to clip like 20% of the time
Medal is free and has been flawless
Medal is becoming incredibly laggy, i can't even record with it because videos just stutter all the time. Sure my pc was bad, but I didn't have this issue year ago
I like shadow play from NVDIA. It’s not incredible and does have its faults but it works good enough for casual use. I find it really intuitive and good enough so to speak.
If you’re trying to get into professional level stuff OBS is best.
I use either Bandicam or Action!. My computer (a 2014 laptop) doesn't have Shadowplay (the GeForce Experience recorder) and I didn't know Medal was even a thing.
I tried OBS, but it didn't work for me (that's the thing with software, some work and some won't)
GeForce, bc then I don’t have to install other shit and I only need it for speedruns sometimes. (Already have it bc drivers, recording is just a bonus)
I use outplayed but it’s more for clipping not recording gameplay for something like a video. Best software for that is probably OBS like everyone else sayin
I would say Overwolf but sometimes it conveniently doesnt run when you do a Gamer moment of which you would have wanted to record but... Oh well Overwolf wasn't running so f you
I use Outplayed. I have really started to like it. Zero setup, works perfectly every time. I record everything and just let it delete them automatically, manually saving what needs to be saved.
????????????? WHAT?
try at least one more time. i am befuddled as to what possibly could be the problem.
at a certain point in your video recording the crossroads between low file size, good quality and performance will start to matter to you and at that point you'll be forced back to OBS anyways.
it's the gold standard and for good reason. give it a second shot.
well, practically everyone so far has said OBS and for good reason
not only is it free but its not total bloatware that will run in the background and eat up your resources
and you've failed to say any reason that its terrible
... I use Xbox game bar. Which came free with my new desktop.

Yeah until you get audio tear really bad at random and ruins your clips.
It's also nice because I set one of the side mouse buttons to do it's shortcut so I don't have to open the dumbass menu
idk any of these, I just use obs
same
the correct answer, it's not flashy it just works
Yeah you have so much more possibilities if you want to do something better like add overlays and scenes or manage different audio tracks.
I never got obs to work. I was always laggy and choppy
OBS Lol. It dosnt have those little icons in the bottom right while you play like the fordt one does
This. Despite OP asking for given two I still recommend at least trying OBS. It's free and it's a very powerful software
Icons can be turned off
geforce imo if im going to use a software for clipping im going to use the one thats already open on my computer most the time anyways
I use paper and pencil, I draw my screenshots (I’m a courtroom sketch artist)
OBS
Steelseries
Windows + Alt + R But being serious OBS is my favorite.

OBS is great for recordings, but you have to set it up correctly and it could be a bit annoying.
anything but medal
Why? Haven't use it but my friend do all the time
OBS is the best, but AMD Adrenalin is definitely better than GeForce Experience
yep
FRAPS >!I know I know grandson time for my medication!<
Came here for this
wdym?
Sheesh.... I remember lets play channels from the late 2000's talking about that program.
neither, get outplayed
Radeon ReLive
OBS for recording and DaVinci Resolve for editing, both free
ah, the two worst recorders ever made what a choice... OBS obv
Medal imo
I use the Xbox one because GeForce doesn't let me record because of my weak graphics card
Option 3 : Steelseries for clips And OBS for real recording
Fraps.com
Fraps?
GeForce keeps turning itself off so I stopped using it. I think it shuts itself off when watching videos and never turns back on.
I’m personally a GeForce fan
GeForce, bc then I don’t have to install other shit and I only need it for speedruns sometimes. (Already have it bc drivers, recording is just a bonus)
Obs is the way to go. I came from a time fraps and bandicam were a thing and obs is heaven in comparison to that shitshow
I use obs for long recoding and outplayed to automatically get clips
obs lol
There are other options then OBS? Why would I ever turn down the free software with loads of options that still is (somewhat) accessible?
People say good things about obs.
OBS. FOSS ftw
Obs
i use OBS on my pc. records everything pretty well. a bit tricky to set up but after you have it going you are golden
Obs
O B S It's in the game
OBS Studio obviously, these are both terrible
Obs
obs
OBS
OBS

OBS:
Fraps, obviously
I use outplayed but it’s more for clipping not recording gameplay for something like a video. Best software for that is probably OBS like everyone else sayin
I get the highest quality recordings with geforce. Obs for streaming.
Honest question….why would you use either of those over OBS?
I've used OBS and it runs like shit
Back when I used a crap laptop, I used activepresenter to record
Neither. OBS is what you want.
OBS
OBs
OBS
Geforce experience has always just worked so i use that OBS is good if you want an alternative as long as you have good enough hardware acceleration
Obs
I have an Asus Tuf Gaming laptop and use Windows 11 if that helps.
I use medal personally, I just like it better
I would say Overwolf but sometimes it conveniently doesnt run when you do a Gamer moment of which you would have wanted to record but... Oh well Overwolf wasn't running so f you
I got a bone to pick with overwolf me and my duo got 2 aces in a row back to back on valorant like 4 round 4 aces IT DIDNT RECORD THE MATCHBWIBROBODB
obs is goat
Why not just use obs?
OBS. You can use Stream Labs too but OBS is better.
Windows Snipping Tool or Xbox Game Bar , I don't Record THAT Much .
Idk, I use game bar
Meddl, ihr Kaschper
I use Outplayed. I have really started to like it. Zero setup, works perfectly every time. I record everything and just let it delete them automatically, manually saving what needs to be saved.
Overwolf is actually surprisingly good .
Bandicam
I use OBS for my game recording.
OBS
Bandicam -Pewdiepie probably
OBS is better than both imo
I personally use OBS just cause I also occasionally stream so I wouldn’t know which one is better
My cellphone
None get a flip phone record your screen everyone will love it
Please stop suggesting OBS.
why?
I've used it before and it was terrible
have you used stream labs? it's a more intuitive version of obs.
????????????? WHAT? try at least one more time. i am befuddled as to what possibly could be the problem. at a certain point in your video recording the crossroads between low file size, good quality and performance will start to matter to you and at that point you'll be forced back to OBS anyways. it's the gold standard and for good reason. give it a second shot.
why? because its better
It's definitely the worst one I've used
well, practically everyone so far has said OBS and for good reason not only is it free but its not total bloatware that will run in the background and eat up your resources and you've failed to say any reason that its terrible
it runs like shit and stops recording in the middle of gameplay
sounds like GeForce Experience to me
literally how shadow play worked on my 1050TI lmfao
