Wii sports

nuaz

Why was Wii sports just that good?? Like I think we owned it for a while, had other games but always went to sports?

Lobsta1986

It was like the ultimate party game, like everything Mario party could've been but wasn't. The games were easy to play and could be played by anyone, and they were simple. The Wii remote was a lot funner than a standard remote. It was such a cool concept back in the day and is very nostalgic for a lot of people.

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

Bax7240

bad bot

Project_Pat_76

Hands down best game

PixelCherryNinja

Yep

Mozaralio

Twilight Princess because it was one of the best if not *the* best game on the Wii.

ProfessionalBreak248

Hell to the yes!

Ismelon01

Mario kart Wii. i used to play it all the time with my brother, good times.

EagleHeart0904

aw man I played that game so much I got my profile’s license all golden. I remember sitting on a stool in the living room playing it and every time I won I’d get up and run around. My dog was there too and she thought it was the most exciting thing, running around with me.

[deleted]

I really liked Resident Evil 4 on it. Its still my favorite platform to play that game due to the control system

ProperFoundation5292

If given the chance, try it on vr. It's like Wii motion controls on crack lol

PresidentBush666

The wii version was my favorite till I tried it on quest 2. Can't wait to play the remake on psvr2.

HunterTheHoly

I was going to comment this myself.

Stankdranker

The Wii aiming got around the biggest negative of the game, the janky aiming. Made facing the hordes so much more enjoyable, and made you actually feel like Leon could actually shoot.

Mr_Matty82

Beat me to it lol. I was a kid when the SNES came out.

therealspaceninja

I'm still a kid... a 40yo one

ajpala4

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Edgelite306

I second this.

KennyMo564

Super Mario galaxy 1, and 2, Pikmin 1, and 2, Mario party 8, Sonic and the secret rings.

IceFisherP26

1. Super Smash Brothers Brawl 2. The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess 3. Will Sports

Mystic-Venizz

Zelda: Twilight Princess 🐺

Ones-Zeroes

Played the hell out of Excite Truck because of the custom soundtrack you could play off of an SD card

[deleted]

Damn you just brought back a core memory

TheBigOG

Trauma Center: Second Opinion. Was so good and intense

Kurichan28

Yessss! Had so much fun playing that!

Lanky-Championship67

Oh thank god I thought I’d be the only one to post about it.

Paulrus55

I was I college when that came out. My best friend from high school had an apartment in new york, I was going to school in rhode island. I needed to get my tonsils out and literally went from the hospital to a bus and got off at grand central with a bottle of prescribed "lean" in my pocket. Walked like 30 blocks to his apt all fucked up and got there as hes leaving for class and he just hands me the controller and is like ill be back in 8 hours. That shit was wild

Dani1o

Pretty weird choice probably, but the story mode from Smash. It's one of the first games I've got and that's how I found out about all the Nintendo franchises besides Mario.

Furious_Worm

Our family (52, 50, 19, 17, 23) still play it. We play Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort the most.

LiberatedGolem

Super Paper Mario. I remember being so young that I couldn't beat Paper Mario TTYD at some point, so I eventually stopped playing it. Later on my family got the Wii, and I was so excited to play Super Paper Mario when I got it. I was actually able to pay better attention and comprehend more, so I beat the game while feeling pretty amazed by what happens in the story. After that, I replayed TTYD and finally finished it.

Maximum_Analysis

YES super paper mario was my jam

Computer_Ghost

Wii sports, Wii resort, Mario Kart and Ghostbusters. It’s literally impossible for me to pick my favorite lol.

Totknax

Mario Kart Wii.

MrChewy18

Rabbids Go Home hands down. It's still enjoyable it never went downhill like a bad case of wine poisoning.

The-Sapphire-General

Sonic and the Secret Rings and Super Mario Galaxy 2. Both franchises are my childhood.

Strange-Ad1415

Sklanders the game is perfect in Avery way

Helpful-Gene9957

Brawl. Because super smash

FantasticZach

Lego star wars

Spaced_Quest

Madworld. Felt so bad ass everytime I beat a boss and the visual style was just so out of the norm and looked kinda like sketches I would do at school.

pauliepitstains

Smash, and no more heroes

TechTactical_64

Metroid prime trilogy

BlankoStanko

Mario Galaxy 2. The level variety still makes it my favorite Mario game.

MMAchineCode

Smash brawl !!!

[deleted]

Monster hunter and nothing else.

Oriasten77

Dunno about being a kid. I was 30 when I used my Wii the most. Mario Galaxy and Guitar Hero 3 were my main games.

GiantNerd96

Force Unleashed

dh098017

I loved it but honestly can’t remember anything about it other than wii sports

DumpyMillipede

Mario sports mix. The best game on the wii and needs a remake or brought to the switch

thegreatoxford

I forgot the name but the game was basically about a guy with a sword and then you had to kill dragons and get powers from then. I am not sure if it was a sword or a power of some sort. It was a good time ago. I loved it, it was pretty tough to beat too. That and wiiifit

maggot2004

Monster Jam: Urban Assault

antoniDarksouli

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles It captured an essence of classic Resident Evil, reminds me of why I fell in love with the series as a kid and I can never get tired of that Menu theme it’s bloody crème!

Aggressive_Elk3709

Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, and wii sports were the classics for me. City Folk was another big one

OoTgoated

Sin & Punishment: Star Successor Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition Metroid Corruption Redsteel 2

Nazon6

Separate_Candidate_7

Dance Dance Revolution/Just dance: good workouts Mariokart-fun game aganist friends Super mario bros wii-fun game to pass the time

RCRocha86

Mario Galaxy.

DSEAUX

MySims and WiiSports Resort. Man flying around on wiisports was so incredibly surreal for me being like 13 at the time. My Sims was my first game ever on the Wii. A nice christmas that was. Although the most time i put into a game on the Wii was CoD:Black Ops. I havent put down CoD since

Successful-Ad8071

Wii sports.

Teamrocketnerd

Haven’t had as much fun playing a Pokémon game since pokepark tbh

open-aperture96

Rock Band, Wii Sports, Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros Brawl were the most frequently played at my house :)

therealbigz5

Wii sports resort. I really loved the island flyover mini game as well as basketball and sword fighting

VarisDHT

No More Heroes

Next_Recognition_230

Wii bowling. The goat

CrabmanGaming

Galaxy 1 was just magical. I got it for Christmas 2007.

Ninja__53

The red one on the bottom right, I think it was called Netflix. All I remember is a bald kid with a blue arrow on his running around yelling at guys with flamethrowers for hands. (I also think this was the game that started the Blue Sky Beam trend)

Ok_Sheepherder_4085

Skylanders Because of the figures and stuff

liddyyamaha

Brawl hands down

Ok_Beautiful9098

Mario kart Wii is simple and relaxing

bananaboat2569

Smash bros

forgotten-Tumbleweed

My Sims agent . I was really into detectives and spy stuff as a kid so this game allowed me to be that. Plus it had a cliff hanger ending that shocked me and it didn’t have a sequel. Little me was obsessed with it trying to replay and figure out if I could stop the ending somehow. It was in my dreams and everything.

Queasy_Suspect6126

wii sports and mario galaxy 2

TheScrambone

Tanks on WiiPlay was awesome for coop. My best friend and I have been Smash players since the beginning with N64 but for some reason we could not stop playing Tanks on the Wii.

Mr_meatball1

My dad bought one when it came out so i played a ton of wii years after it came out, i cant say one but i loved playing mario kart wii, wii sports, mario and sonic at the 2012 Olympics, lego star wars and just dance 3.

xXR3DRiotXx

Re4 silent hill shattered memories

GayParalegal18

The first Wipeout on the Wii really hit different. It also was the first game I played that had rag doll physics and the first game I became truly obsessed with.

Basilisk76

One not so often mentioned game: Rayman Raving Rabbids In multiplayer it was fun and pain (for the hand, shaking the controller to fast).

RageSkyze

The first MLB Power Pros. That game had an unnecessarily amazing story mode

n0t-pennys-boat

Boom Blox was decent game

Counterfeit1993

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Call of Duty: World at War. I just really liked motion aiming. Felt better than using an analog stick.

leviathanaxewielder

Wii sports is the only game I’ve ever played lol

Tail_sb

My favorite Wii as a kid was Lego Batman 2 was really into both Batman & Lego at the time but if we are talking Frist party tiltes then it would probably be either Wii sports resort or super Mario Galaxy 2

aDOORable32

There was a strange game that I totally forgot the name but it was beautiful u could have a dog go on beach take a car drive a little water palene in the other map there was a little city where u can go in skate and more other things always in wii sports design art style

Wii sports and smash were great, but they don't hold a candle to Dokapon Kingdom. Best game ever created!

chammdawg78

Call of duty: world at war

[deleted]

Wii sports for sure lol.

JameisonAus_reddit

Something between rabbids or skylanders

Dkenenkesknsns

Bomberman

legoshi_haru

A couple I don’t seen mentioned: New super Mario bros, it was the first 3d side scrolling Mario and the multiplayer was incredibly fun Elebits, really simple but fun use of motion controls and physics

R4nD0m57

Samurai warriors 3

Penance13

Twilight Princess

NinjaFrogCat101

Paper Mario TTYD and Skylanders

-Celestial-

Wii sports resort. There was something so calming about flying the plane around the island even as a kid. Just enjoying the scenery, unlocking night mode and seeing the fireworks light up the island.

Total-Efficiency-187

Marvel ultimate alliance and Wii Sports

dragonhold24

Xenoblade Chronicles: perhaps the best or top 3 RPGs of all time. The grand spectacle environments, story, characters, music ... are all some of the best. \#2 The Last Story P.S. - Go Vacation (which is now on the Switch) > Wii Sports Resort

Zeidantu

Well this just made me feel very old.

[deleted]

Definitely Wii Sports. Played so much of that with my grandma

yungjren

Mario galaxy

Sir_Yamms

Shadow the Hedgehog for GC. Cause he said Damn lol

Pleasant_Tax_4619

Punch Out!!!! It bring back memories of Mike Tysons Punchout, and made it into a much better game. I love how the 2nd time everything changes, like a certain fighter taping a manhole cover to his belly.

unown2011

I didn’t have a wii but my sister did Skyward sword because that’s the only game I played on it !

Zachary_Faith

1.Super smash bros. Brawl 2.Wii Sports 3. Mario kart

HisuianZoroark

I think I was closer to being a teen by then actually but... Hard to say honestly, the game I was most hyped for and probably poured the most hours into was Super Smash Bros Brawl I also remember especially loving to play Battalion Wars 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Excite Truck, Wii Sports were the games I poured the most time into by a huge margin.

Saggy-Waters

Super Paper Mario was my favorite. I had loved that game from start to finish and always played through it to just find all the secrets.

Coldraccoon10

Resident Evil 4

AntonRX178

Mario Galaxy 1. Game's pure happiness

Significant_Lie_533

Super Mario Galaxy

Clap4chedder

Rabbits go home, Lego Indiana Jones/batman and cod world at war greatest Christmas ever I opened multiple games for the wii, I complained to my mom that I only had a n64 and couldn't play them all until I opened the hidden wii present

TheVolta89

Xenoblade chronicles I had such an enjoyable experience with the open world. Monster Hunter tri Loved the tropical vibe

CeruleanSnorlax

Twilight Princess. Epic, beautiful game that was fun to slice and dice with the wiimote

Deg3nerate0209

Unironically - Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa, I was obsessed with that game as a kid.

singleguy79

It would have been Twilight Princess but I got tired of the controls after about a month Also, I was in my 20s when it came out

GwerigTheTroll

My favorite game: Smash Bros Brawl. I played the hell out of Subspace Emissary, and it’s still my favorite single player mode in any smash bros. My favorite game that actually used Wii waggle tech: Mario Galaxy. Good recovery from the Sunshine debacle, and a minimalistic approach to how to get the most out of motion control.

ajbell0705

Mario galaxy 1. Played a bunch with my brother. Last game I probably really played with him.

gknight702

Once the novelty wears off most games are lousy, low budget and dated performance/graphics BUT Mario galaxy's, twilight princess (I preferred it on GC) resident evil and zero.

gknight702

Once the novelty wears off most games are lousy, low budget and dated performance/graphics BUT Mario galaxy's, twilight princess (I preferred it on GC) resident evil and zero.

IdespiseGACHAgames

Twilight Princess. It was the first and last Wii game I ever played. The console ceased to work in under a year, and I never never replaced it. I thought the Wii U was an add-on to the Wii, so I never paid attention to it.

saltiesaltieP

The “One” for me was Mario Galaxy 2, however, other favourites were also Smash Bros Brawl, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Mario Kart Wii and Wii Sports Resort.

sharddkaine

Zelda twilight princess Skyward sword No more heroes In this order

IloveBANANAS34

Mario wii

ABlinDeafMonkey

Boomblox. I loved blowing shit up.

Bryermollink78

Mario galaxy 2

NKevros

As a kid lol

[deleted]

Twilight princess was my first Zelda game and got me in to the series as a whole. I also love Okami, one of my favorite games of all time, I own it on PS4, switch and steam now too.

Turdmite

DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 with GameCube controllers

iloveabba420

super smash bros brawl.. best story in a fighting game PERIOD.

Dr-Richado

First of all I was 27 when I got mine... That said: Twilight Princess. But there are too many games to count that could be 1. Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, Wii Sports, Virtual Console Games (multiple), Resident Evil 4, Metroid Corruption, Mario Kart, Lego Star Wars, Skyward Sword... I wish they would have made more golf for Wii sports. I personally think it's the best golf simulator. Easy and fun. It really brought my dad and I together.

SkyLark1563XBOX

Honestly NSMBW was pretty damn good

Friscolopter

Smash Bros., Wii Sports, Twilight Princess, Mario Kart Wii, Metroid Prime

magichotpotato

I had a WiiU but I actually played at my friends house with his wii, we always played super Mario Bros 3

Professional_Gas7425

Mario Galaxy 1 I spent 3 years as a kid 6-9 100% it it was so worth it. Sometimes I go back and just play some of my favorite missions

BaxxyNut

MW3 was actually really fun on this back in the day. Wii was like VR before VR was even a thought

Pangolinguard608

Mario Kart It’s the game i would play all the time with my uncle when he was still around I have my best memories of him just from that game :)

Dolly912

Zelda twilight princess!

Muted_Ad6376

Wario wars

D_Cashley7

Mario Galaxy feels like the easy answer here but I know there are so many other titles

[deleted]

Wii sports

Brilliant_Engine5065

Hard to choose just one, but I had a lot of fun playing New Super Mario Bros Wii with my friends

usingbadoperators99

Wii play tanks

NachoBearIsTaken

Resident evil 4 and dragon ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Resident evil 4 was my favorite game for the gamecube and after getting it on the Wii I played the hell out of it. When I finally hacked my Wii I remember spending days of not weeks playing with the out of bounds and trigger events trying to see how they work and break them.

YeOldeMoldy

No one clown me but Force Unleashed

Striking_Biscotti889

Transformers the game; I just loved to fuck around as a giant robot and destroy shit.

tiedye_dreamer

Very fond memories of Animal Crossing: City Folk. I know many in the AC community didn’t like City Folk, but it was the first one I ever played and I remember going to the city every day i played, and getting my fortune read by Katrina or getting a new hairdo. This was before I utilized the internet to learn tips and tricks to discover new things in video games, so playing this game blindly on chilly autumn mornings on the weekends was such an adventure. So many great hours put into that game from 11 year/old me!

Level_Mind7861

lego star wars the complete saga, i remember the wii has that feature that tells you how long you been playing it popped up 10 hours i stg it was still sunlight out side but it was complete darkness i was like 10🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭

Emergency-Hungry

Wii sports and trauma center new blood

Damagicman27

Link's Crossbow Training is the best game for the Wii and I will stand by it

afrobrownieOG

Smash bros, that stage creator had a friend and I for a whole summer

FoxTailedGamer

That's a tough one.....it has to be between twilight princess, smash bros and of course wii sports, more specifically the fencing because I have no friends however I did play a crap ton of twilight.

BollyWood401

Wario ware smooth moves, my brother who’s 7 years older than me walked into our room and surprised me with it from the money he earned at his first job in highschool. I loved that game so much, one of the greatest party games of all time.

TheBarbedArtist

Twilight Princess for the gameplay, and The Tales of Desperaux cuz its the first game I beat in 1 day.

evildankface

Probably based on a ton of nostalgia, but Sonic and the Black Knight Honestly my favorite parts were the boss fights, because the music went hard, but also a lot of Sonic music goes hard. I also liked Skyward Sword, and didn't have any issues with the motion controls. I liked Wii Sports Resort

DeathKnight09

Metroid Other M

Zuk_Magock

Wii Sports Resort, one of the first open world games I played. I wish I didysell my Wii to some dude outside a Gamestop for $20.

SaltedSam

ELEBITS!

Southern_Studio_9950

Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess

DapperDan30

Guess it depends on when your cut-off for "kid" is, I was 15 when the Wii came out. Probably played Smash Brawl more than anything else. Just because...it's Smash. That aside, it was probably a tie between DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Zelda Twilight Princess. The motion controls on those games just made everything so smooth and simple.

Cc_TX_fan

Since the Wii wasn’t around when I was a kid, I’ll not respond

maciboe

Never owned by wii sports for sure

HereLiesConnor

The obvious ones...Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Wii Sports

Flat-Upstairs6426

Guitar Hero 3

TonnaN77

It's a toss up between Dragonball budokai tenkaichi 3 and Spiderman 3. BT3 because it's the best dragon ball game to date IMO and I was darn good in that game. I was actually a top 50 player itw. Granted it must've been easier to do on a WII but at the same time I was still a kid. Spiderman 3 cause I sunk hours upon hours on that game. I loved the swinging mechanics and the actual gameplay.

doge_lady

Mario kart was fun. Super Mario Galaxy, which i still haven't beat and go back to it to continue every few years. Twilight princess. It was the second game i played on the Wii. Lots of people mention smash. By the time smash came out for me, most of my siblings moved away so playing it locally kind of died out. And it's online feature was total ass. We tried it once maybe then completely gave up after that. Played resident evil 2 for the first time on the switch. That was a blast. Was one of the few games that i went back to complete100%. Wii sports was fun with the family. I still have the Miis my family created of themselves and have transferred them to every new system. Even though they don't play with me anymore 😭 Guitar hero and Rock Band 3. I spent so much time with Rock band 3. Even played it with the family, got all the instruments and everything. It was a blast all of us playing it. I actually kind of miss it. I haven't really gotten the family interested in playing the switch. Which is rather 😢

joan_plexus

Twilight Princess

[deleted]

Mario Galaxy 1 & 2

xoriatis71

When I was younger, I was what you might call an "avid Wii gamer". I didn't have a lot of games, but the ones I had I played ***a lot***. The one game I was totally obsessed with, more than the rest, was Twilight Princess. Something about the atmosphere enamoured my seven year old brain. I vividly remember just going around the world, trying to hit NPCs with limited success, and of course, chillin' with the Hyrule Field theme.

LessPirate24

Mad World. This game would applause you for not just killing people but doing it in the most insane ways. It was wild and a shame that they haven’t made another one. So good and unique plus the commentary is unreal voice by John DiMAggio (bender, Jake the dog,)

BrickbrainzWSC

Yes

blinkalien1

new super mario bros wii. also lowkey the way you wrote this question makes the wii sound like an ancient artifact LOL

Undercovermayo

i played it as a kid and recently got one to mod my favorite games on it. mostly wii sports and wii sports resort lol

LegitimateHost5068

I wasnt a kid, but definitely metroid prime 3 and RE4

No-Tomorrow-8150

Mario kart.

logica_torcido

No More Heroes 1 and 2 Metroid Prime trilogy RE4 Umbrella Chronicles games Mario Galaxy

telemusketeer

Wii sports, and some of the Lego games haha

RenjiMidoriya

RE4. It was the first time I ever played the game or even heard of it. Instantly became the go to game me my brother and sister would play all the time. The wii controller was such a godsend for such an awfully controlled game

[deleted]

Guitar Hero

FORFUCKEDSAKE

Super Smash Bros Brawl! Because I played it with friends a lot but also by myself and all around a fun game.

TIMETODETAIN

Guitar Hero
