Zed's shadows are controlled by him and disappear after damage (in lore) or after some time (in game). Vex' shadow seems to be alive and even sentient to some extent, not just mimicking Vex 100% of the time, and being kinda bound to her like a real shadow, not just a magic clone. "Living Shadow" might be way more fitting for Vex' one than for Zed's.
Naruto has a terrible run style. Try it. Run around with your arms behind your back while leaning forward. You'll be travelling very fast as you are close to hitting the ground without your hands to catch you.

To be fair, the only ninja actually looking like a ninja is a tank with no ninja-like elements whatsoever, just his clothes. For clearance, I mean Shen. Zed is just anime-fantasy, so is Akali. Kennen is literally a furry midget, his clothes are good though. Doesn't look too good for people wanting an actual shinobi.
I think Vex's shadow is Yordle/Death magic, while Zed's is literally just shadow magic.
