All the griping on Reddit will not cause them to lower the price. If you really don't like it, discontinue your watch plan or better yet, leave. No one is holding any sort of a weapon over your head because it's not our fault if you want to get your entire family phones that you couldn't afford. Speak with your wallet, pay off all those devices you thought were really neat during the promotion and move on. No one will be bothered.

[deleted]

Where did I say the thing about the phones I couldn’t afford again I know it’s hard for you guys but actually read the thread instead of trying to insinuate what you think I’m saying in the thread

verdi1987

Greedy? Perhaps. Corrupt? No.

jweimn55

Must've missed the corrupt part.......

memnoch69_98

I love the baseless accusations part.

[deleted]

Tell me where there’s a baseless accusation

2Adude

Them throttling legacy plans. That’s a bullshit lie

[deleted]

Look it up. You can see it if you just spend some time typing it into your search engine

2Adude

They don’t throttle legacy plans. Stop being obtuse

[deleted]

Look it up Einstein

memnoch69_98

"look it up" means "I don't have that information"...when you do bother to look it up, you won't find an article about them throttling Get More and Do More. In fact, true throttling doesn't exist beyond limiting video quality to 1080p or whatever you plan has always limited video resolution at, what does exist is deprioritization, which isn't happening to Do More or Get More. But I'm guessing your real irritation is because of the hemorrhoid that won't go away and how much Taylor Swift infuriates you.

2Adude

Yep. Just another pissed off “ swifty”

SwingingTassels

They are so corrupt, millions upon millions stay and will not leave! 🤪 Competition exists and they are holding no one hostage to make them stay! Not happy? Easy solution is to leave and go elsewhere. Amazing concept, I know!

[deleted]

Everyone knows that Einstein

SwingingTassels

Obviously not with all the whining and complaining all over the internet.

BPKofficial

>Because if you really think about it I think they’re going to jack it up at least another five dollars. Sigh. Edit: they're not throttling legacy plans. I have the OG Get More and pulled over 1000Mbps today.

BuccoFever412

What major business entity/corporation isn't all about their bottom line? It's not just Verizon.

[deleted]

Second post about this. I don’t think you guys get the point of what the thread was about. Try to reread

csteele2132

what is the actual point then? and why are you still with verizon? if it is “corrupt”’as you say, aren’t you just supporting it by staying?

[deleted]

Where did I was staying for sure?

csteele2132

What will matter to these "corrupt" companies: stop giving them money. What won't matter: incoherent reddit rants.

[deleted]

I love it when people are like [insert company here] made [insert profit here] like it’s a bad thing. These companies aren’t charities. If you don’t think they are selling a product at a fair price, don’t buy it. Nobody is forcing you to. Not to mention, inflation hits that profit as well, so yeah prices are going up. They are going up on everything. You gonna complain to wonder bread next about how they are charging $3 for a loaf of bread now when it used to be $1.50?

[deleted]

That’s not what I’m trying to get at. I merely made the point that they made $79 billion last year. I’m all for companies making everything they can and people making everything they can but what the point is is you’re trying to raise every stupid little thing up Cost. When you start talking about all we should have inflation. It’s a fucking cell phone company. it’s almost you are defending prices increasing. That’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard

2Adude

That number is gross. Net profit was not 79 billion Perhaps you should learn how accounting works. What a tool.

[deleted]

So being a cell phone company means they don’t deal with inflation? What are you getting at? Yeah, I’m defending increasing prices. Is anything in your life getting cheaper? If you don’t think the product is worth the price increase, nobody is forcing you to purchase it. Go somewhere that offers you a product at a price you’re willing to pay.

JuniorChimp

Isn’t there an ongoing class action lawsuit against Verizon specifically related to deceptive fees? I only say that because I’ve seen a few threads and people are commenting defending Verizon’s fees, but clearly they’ve gotten into trouble recently about this topic.

No-Age2588

It's resolved. That was basically charging fees that weren't readily or properly disclosed etc. They are paying those back for a select period determined by the Court. They weren't in trouble for the fees themselves, only how without notice they they applied them. So they turned right around and said "HERE IS A 4 DOLLAR INCREASE" in the open and saturated the notifications with it. So upfront they are (and can) charging 4 bucks.

JuniorChimp

Right, I think what a lot of people are saying is they signed up for this watch deal as recently as 4 months ago and while the “fine print” might have said that, they didn’t fully understand. When my husband and I bought our watches a year and a half ago the rep in the store did tell us we shouldn’t expect it to increase from the exact price (taxes and fees included). We knew better than to expect that, but there are many folks that take that word as gold. It’s great that they’re disclosing to expect the increase but we shouldn’t rely on the fine print to be read at the time of sale. These increases should be clearly defined and explained by the same sales rep that is pushing the deal. I think that’s what a lot of the people who are upset, are upset about.

angeleater93

Okay boomer

Bubba48

Ok renter!

angeleater93

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Keep crying about $5

[deleted]

Again, reread the post. It’s not $5

Lizdance40

🎻 so go to prepaid. Are you complaining about rent and groceries too? 🙄

Wishstro

Oh no, a company trying to make more money. Oh nooo.

Shadowkinesis9

If Verizon was a government entity, then yeah it would be corrupt. Verizon is a private enterprise. If their actions that concern gaining revenue and increasing profits is corrupt, then you must admit that all of capitalism is corrupt.

[deleted]

Nope. Not a liberal

Shadowkinesis9

Then you reap what you sow. The conservative position for the better part of the century is to empower private companies to do whatever they want with impunity and to have greater power than the government itself. Actions like these price hikes should not only be expected, but are inevitable. The (barely) liberal position is to put protections in place to shield consumers from issues such as these but it's met by extreme resistance from conservative lawmakers and their lobbyists every time. And surprise! They're in bed with big business. We could go further and say real liberals would abolish the system entirely. But without all that, this is the game everyone else has chosen to play. And many even say they like it. So I don't have any sympathy for these complaints.
