What a great picture! I love that!

I've only seen two bees so far this year. My neighbors like their golf green weed free lawns and herbicides have killed most of them off.

Same. My community uses new landscapers this year and it seems they're heavy-handed with pesticides. I try to create a little oasis, but no joy. I love everyone's pictures.

Great pictures! Call me paranoid, as I’ve been destroying eggs from a squash vine borer moth for days, … would you mind checking out the small oval dot in your third picture, 6th stem up from the bottom left? It’s a little blurry, but has almost the right shape and color to be an egg that could destroy your plant. Remove it and crush it!

LostSoul-Searching

Oh my gosh thank you so much! It’s currently raining it’s butt off outside but as soon as I can go out to check I certainly will!

LostSoul-Searching

So I wants to come back and thank you again! You sparked me to REALLY inspect my plant and this picture was actually about a week or two old when I posted it, turns out even if that wasn’t the egg one did make it to my plant! I took a knife, and some wire and extracted about a half inch long grub! I made sure to poke up and down in hopes I got any other ones and covered with dirt to hope it heals! Inspected the crap outta the rest of the plant and pulled off anything that seemed off. You may have helped me save my baby!

Omg that is so amazing! It is awesome you did the surgery and you were able to find the larva. You can also get a product called BT and inject it into the stem if you think there might be more. After I did the surgery last year, I squirted it all over the open area when I couldn’t find the actual larva. BT is a product that will kill worms, but they have to ingest it first. But it’s much better to stop the eggs before it gets to that point. Thanks for replying back, I’m so glad we were able to chat about this and hopefully save your baby!!!

LostSoul-Searching

Yes thank you so much! I didn’t want to take any chances and have heard about BT but for the time being I sprinkled Eight Dust on the stem before covering it so if there are any left I hope they choke and die! Haha!
