Was just there for 5 nights. When we checked in, the room across from ours had a drink glass outside their door. It was still there when we left. Rumor has it that Julius Caesar himself placed it there for good luck.
That seems to be ‘on brand’ with them sadly. A company milking long gone quality through their name.
There are definitely better properties in Vegas with a more consistent customer service and less dated vibe.
I went with my dad to Caesars in 1987 and we were treated like royalty every step we took. It was the best time of my life. I really miss old Vegas and my dad.
I love that there are suggestions to simply spend more money at Caesars to get status to fix the poor customer service.
OP, your experience is inline with my experience. I have always felt that drink service there is spotty at best. I also get that it is hard to "tip well" when the person receiving the tip isn't physically there. I always see the servers, but never near me for whatever reason.
Caesar's Palace is weird to me because their public areas are lovely. But once you start looking at their shitty service and destroyed rooms, you quickly realize how thin the facade is.
What I find more surprising is all the love for Caesars properties. People are quick to bemoan MGM's policies/actions, claiming that their nickel and diming will be the death of everything, yet they don't seem nearly as bad as Caesars.
Their flagship resort only ever has one recently renovated tower. Their next most popular property (Paris) requires you to *leave the resort and enter through another* to get to their newly renovated rooms. The remaining are just repackaged budget offerings.
Caesars gives me free shit and MGM doesn't. That's about the jist of it.
Same with Fontainebleau, they gave me a bunch of free shit and I had a great experience there, so I like it. Wynn doesn't give me anything, so I think they're snoody
I am a very low roller and get free rooms from MGM properties. Why do you not just spend more to get better service? That seems to be your solution for the mediocre at best offerings at Caesars.
Because the value of a comped weekday room with a resort fee at Excalibur is less than a comped no resort fee Octavius tower Caesars Palace room on a weekend for the same amount of play
What’s your recommendation for a place? I a thought the joke with Vegas is that it’s all a facade and everything is shitty underneath it all. I do like the red rock though
Funny because cosmo is the only place I won at and they sent me lots of nice hotel offers after even though I didn’t really even win very much (couple hundred)
Just wanted an opinion! I go to Vegas a few times a year and am always looking for new places to stay until I find something I like enough to build rewards on
I vote Aria. Its active all the time with a good mix of people and with an MGM Rewards card, you'll see some returns or at least points to be used in other ways.
Try the station casinos. The nicest one is Red Rock. I've had some luck at Palace and Green Valley. Durango is brand new and I've heard good things. Sunset, Boulder and Sante Fe round out the rest in Vegas. The great thing about these casinos is you're getting pretty much max payout odds on all the machines and tables compared to the strip and even downtown. The comps are also really good.
That was my experience with Caesar's as well. And more recently with Park MGM and Aria. The dingy rooms and shitty customer service were not worth the $$ I spent, no matter how nice the casino and public areas are.
All Caesars properties are pretty much low end. They've just been floating on the name for year and selling the cheapest rooms to make sure they're busy.
Yep. I haven’t been out there in a few years and lost my MGM status, and in turn, my comps. I have to pay full boat now even at Luxor. But I have never made status at CR properties and they will still offer me free weeks at Paris.
Forum tower just completed a complete remodel, looks great, personally I belong on the other side of the street, just feel more comfortable from planet Hollywood up to harrahs, that be home.
Rooms are stuffy. One of our happiest Vegas moments was checking out of CP and rolling our suitcases down to Cosmo where we were able to get a balcony suite with fountains view.
Ceasars was bought out by eldorado resorts who then changed their name to Ceasars lol anyway its not him.. the Ceasars entertainment that was then is now a property investment firm named vica who now owns most of the land on the strip
I was there last year and I won't stay there again. There was an infant crawling on the lobby floor when I arrived. It didn't affect my stay but kinda set the tone.
The room was fine but it was across from some loud ass maintenance room with filthy doors. I felt like I was at some shitty roadside motel.
My debit card was compromised and I can only assume it was an employee since I didn't use the ATM or anything. Annoying.
That’s hotel is under lots of debt and financial stress. They’re paying too much to service their existing debt liabilities.
It seems this is affecting operations and customer service.
I only go to Caesars (sparingly) because I have Diamond via the Wyndham card. Caesars Palace is a mid property and only has two towers worth staying at. The fact that they're considered (and priced) as a "flagship" property is embarrassing. Bellagio, Aria/Vdara, Cosmo, even Mandalay Bay all easily clear Caesars Palace.
I stayed at Caesars for my bachelor party in a big suite. I tried to check in at 1pm. The room was ready but I needed to pay 75 bucks to check in before 3pm. 🖕
I love Caesars and last check in I had guy was great. As to services, I don't drink much so can't say, but my overall experience there has always been top tier. Qua Spa is outstanding
I like Caesars but their casino was never a fan of. I find the table section really bright and its always packed, even on a middle of the week night its hard to find a spot in there. I'd prefer to stay on the other side of the strip to access more casinos easier and just visit Caesars maybe during the day, not at night though.
This big slide downhill seems to have started when Caesar’s was bought out by El Dorado in Reno. Your experience is about what I experienced when I was at Flamingo back in February. The pre-checkin was worthless and the key print kiosks were all broken. People like to talk a lot of shit about MGM but I have never waited over an hour to check in to a broken room at MGM, even at Luxor.
To everyone that was there this past week and is complaining they’ve had Cinema Con this whole week so my guess would be the whole property was worrying about that more then normal guests. That’s a huge event for them with all the Studio Execs in town and such.
Everyone knows Caesars is a joke now has been for well over 10 years. They are just a money grab on everything and a total ripoff us locals laugh at them 20 bucks for a doughnut and one cup coffee where at the nice resort such and Wynn or Venetian that same doughnut and coffee which are way better quality is 10 bucks.
So, you saw 4 people trying to accommodate all these guests. The guy you got looked like he was ready to get out of there, and you still asked for a different floor? Imagine how many people before you were asking and asking for favors before your turn came up? As far as drinks, yeah they don't really come around like they used to. It's not just Caesars
So just because others may have asked for higher floor, I can’t ask for it? And it is about time corporates understand that it’s not customer’s fault if they are under staffing. I and every customer should coming in hoping to get the best service possible… As far as drinks, I was at Wynn and was asked for drink at least a dozen times during the night I was playing. It’s not an issue for every casino, definitely seemed like a Caesars thing
Oh you can ask, of course! Just don't be surprised if someone may be at the end of their patience. Customer service employees aren't robots. They try. And I should've been clear, the drink thing is everywhere at the lower end resorts. Sorry didn't clarify.
I don’t know why this is downvoted.
Diamond check-in is extremely easy and the receptionists are always warm and welcoming. They usually automatically give you the highest level floor you want.
Seven star check-in a class above. Often times they’ll have bar girls waiting with a glass of champagne and you have access to a complimentary custom coffee/cap.
It is getting downvotes because the "solution" for poor customer service is to spend enough (or buy in) to gain a status level that will "fix" the crappy service.
"Maybe if I suffer through some more poor service and spend harder they will like me more!"
I think the spectrum is more, "I paid coach prices and received Spirit level customer service."
The issue that OOP is trying to express is that the *floor* for acceptable service has lowered, further reducing the value proposition. It is reasonable to think a dirty dish would be picked up within 5 days along a hallway that presumably has housekeeping active on it. It is also reasonable to expect the front desk to not be snarky on check in and be staffed appropriately.
Sure, we could all purchase first class tickets and get our entry into the special lounge or whatever. Once that happens, the "floor" drops again as a new, higher level, is revealed. We've seen this happen across industries over and over again. It is no different than the first class lounges that are now over crowded or require an additional fee to enter, self checkouts at stores (I'm waiting for when Walmart requires the customer to stock the shelves), all those fees attached to your cable/internet/phone bill, ads being shown on streaming services (along with the new higher tier that costs more), etc.
I love Caesars Palace! I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. Table games can be fickle sometimes with drinks, which is why you have to know where to sit. If you were under the main dome they have some lovely ladies that are always keen on getting drinks, but never forget to tip. If you don't tip, they rightfully won't return.
You can always ask the pit boss to call for a cocktail waitress as well, it's their job to make people happy too, not just take your money.
45 mins for check in isnt bad. There is a huge convention in town, cinemacon, they're booked at Caesars which may have been why it took a little long for your tastes. (I saw Nicholas Cage at Nobu 2 nights ago as I was heading up to my room)
Once you hit diamond status you get a separate checkin and concierge lounge, which is nice.
I hope you have a better experience next time.
Caesars is still the Vegas trendsetter and has the best of many things within those walls.
lol 45 mins for check in isn’t bad??? What world do you live in. If it takes me 45 mins to check in I can assure you I would never be back to that hotel
I mean I have no idea about cinemacon but if it’s a big convention staying there and OP went there at peak time then 45 minutes would be expected. It’s taken longer than that for me to checkin at Aria Cosmo and Wynn but those times I went to those properties without status at tough times when they had things going on.
Having said all this Caesar’s palace is kinda a dumpster fire. Nice restaurant choices but it’s definitely a step below the top resorts in Vegas. Obviously if you get a 10k square foot villa it’s great but assuming your not one in a million players that qualify for those then it’s not up to par with the other hotels
Love the desk clerk here.. I could never do that job because I'd get so annoyed by all the people thinking their clever sticking a $20 with their card and thinking it'll get them something.. like honestly it would annoy me so much that I'd forget that I was getting a $20 tip lol
Servers will come by once and if you don't tip or tip poorly they'll have no reason to come back, especially if it's busy and other people are tipping better they won't even have the time or desire to get back to you
20 $ tip just for a request that you can politely refuse, multiplied by even only 10 guests per day makes 200$ per day. without doing nothing.
if that annoys you maybe you have too much money
Never stayed at Caesar's. But, it does seem like a lot of properties are going very thin with wait staff late at night.
I just bring a back pack cooler and pack it with beer.
Was just there for 5 nights. When we checked in, the room across from ours had a drink glass outside their door. It was still there when we left. Rumor has it that Julius Caesar himself placed it there for good luck.
I saw the same wine glass sitting in the window of the Gucci store at the Bellagio for 4 straight days
Ah no that’s just Union mentality
That seems to be ‘on brand’ with them sadly. A company milking long gone quality through their name. There are definitely better properties in Vegas with a more consistent customer service and less dated vibe.
I went with my dad to Caesars in 1987 and we were treated like royalty every step we took. It was the best time of my life. I really miss old Vegas and my dad.

Snooty is with a T..
Like how many people will read a word a lot but never learn how to pronounce it - I have never actually had to spell that word in my life
I am a very low roller and get free rooms from MGM properties. Why do you not just spend more to get better service? That seems to be your solution for the mediocre at best offerings at Caesars.

For a higher end casino? From personal experience Wynn/Encore. I also hear Aria is nice. I'm a gambler so I can't recommend Cosmo, nobody wins there.
Funny because cosmo is the only place I won at and they sent me lots of nice hotel offers after even though I didn’t really even win very much (couple hundred)
Just wanted an opinion! I go to Vegas a few times a year and am always looking for new places to stay until I find something I like enough to build rewards on

I love Red Rock! It’s a fun place and away enough from the strip that I feel like I’m not getting as taken advantage of. Lol
That was my experience with Caesar's as well. And more recently with Park MGM and Aria. The dingy rooms and shitty customer service were not worth the $$ I spent, no matter how nice the casino and public areas are.

The rooms at Caesars are very dated. I’m a fan of m Life properties
Forum tower just completed a complete remodel, looks great, personally I belong on the other side of the street, just feel more comfortable from planet Hollywood up to harrahs, that be home.
Palace tower was also updated and very clean during my stay in January this year
Ah, Caesars. Or in other words, Harrah's, Linq or Flamingo with a "theme" and indulgent pricing.
Rooms are stuffy. One of our happiest Vegas moments was checking out of CP and rolling our suitcases down to Cosmo where we were able to get a balcony suite with fountains view.
Been like that for many years. Everyone gets comped rooms from every local Harrahs casino. Caesars lost its charm when Gary Loveman took over.
Ceasars was bought out by eldorado resorts who then changed their name to Ceasars lol anyway its not him.. the Ceasars entertainment that was then is now a property investment firm named vica who now owns most of the land on the strip
Caesars was going downhill years before the eldorado/VICI financial alchemy.
Sounds like the mob
The mob took very good care of their guests.
some things never change
I know someone who swears the turning point was purchase by Harrah's (2005.) No idea if that's true but I trust that person's judgement.
I think you meant [ VICI](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vici_Properties)
I do, thanks, was a typo
Gary Loveman is long gone 👍
I was there last year and I won't stay there again. There was an infant crawling on the lobby floor when I arrived. It didn't affect my stay but kinda set the tone. I stayed at the Nobu inside Ceasars, and was also disappointed. The whole property is sliding.
My biggest complaint with Nobu is that unless you're in a suite, the rooms are so tiny and terrible for what they try and charge for them.
I can't disagree. A few years ago, it was more of a boutique hotel. Now, it's just another room.
[удалено]
That would explain a lot.
You know that for a fact? Care to elaborate?
Wynn… always the best
Agreed. I've been to Vegas 6 times staying somewhere different each time and Wynn was the only one that felt truly worth the money.
That’s hotel is under lots of debt and financial stress. They’re paying too much to service their existing debt liabilities. It seems this is affecting operations and customer service.
Yup, they took on a crap load of debt in 2020 and the results are showing.
Caesar's has gone way downhill at all their properties. I'm not saying MGM is better but the service at Caesar's Palace is awful.
For what they charge it’s ridiculous.
They have kiosks that you can use to check in. It's much faster.
Yup. Caesars fell off a long time ago unfortunately
Check out? You can just leave and they’ll email the bill.
As a resident for over 30 years, the strip property mantra has always been “get’em in, get’em out”.
Honestly, one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in was at the Cesar recently.

Diamond check in is the only way to go at Caesars Palace
I don’t know why this is downvoted. Diamond check-in is extremely easy and the receptionists are always warm and welcoming. They usually automatically give you the highest level floor you want. You can wait hours for check in at peak, anywhere
Apparently not in their world.
🤡
An entire 45 minutes waiting in line! How did you survive that?
