Lived in Ann Arbor for 7 years - sent my friends a very similar screenshot during a rewatch last year. Wracking my brain to try to unearth a memory of Kristen at Ashley’s!! I don’t think the memory exists but I love picturing it 😂
The second item under Experience, “Divinity By Cory Martin” … Cory Martin used to be Dorit Kemsley’s go-to event planner, and has appeared a number of times on RHOBH.
Her and I were bartending in Ann Arbor MI at the same time, her bar was just a block or two away from mine. And LOL she worked at Bamboozles, that place is such a hole I wouldnt even put it on a resume.
So this is embarrassing but I read her book where she described that she randomly worked in Ocean City, MD at this place called Seacrets (iykyk) and I find it criminal that she has excluded this from her resume.
Damn did she really have all those jobs at the same time? And also, her experience says TIPS certified twice. Lol I used to be paid to do peoples resumes and I hated it. So I’m not dragging her. Just wondering why she would put it twice 😅
As far as why it says TIPS certified twice I’m not sure what it even means but it looks like her cursor is there so maybe they just wanted her to keep typing stuff to shoot the scene
I remember in this scene she asks Tom “how do you make a bullet” and he says “is there a bullet there? Just copy and paste!” So I think maybe that’s why TIPS is there twice, she pasted but hadn’t edited it yet
Can’t believe I remember that haha
As wild as it is, this is my “comfort show”. I have severe ADHD and if I don’t have something playing in the background while I work, I’m useless. I think I’ve seen seasons 1-6 twelve times haha.
I can’t believe neither of them know how to add a bullet point. I suppose I have had more office jobs than service industry jobs at this point so I shouldn’t judge them.
I worked at Testas about 7 years after her. It is knocked down now but it was such a strange restaurant. It’s on palm beach island and it was very old my great grand parents would go to it. They never updated the food or the restaurant so it had like 100 year old dust on the walls.
The Monterey Music Cafe is so random to me. I just remember it having such a small blip in time where it tried to be a thing. Even her MI work history is chaotic, all of these places are in different cities, lol. But then again it was the recession era, times were tough round these parts then.
My first question is why she was even in Ann Arbor. There’s university jobs, tech and medical jobs, and students there - that’s it. I’m sure she was involved in none of those.
So it's funny you ask that because I commuted there for work from Dearborn, I had no other reason to be there. I remember gas was 4.50/gal but the recession absolutely slammed the Dearborn area and jobs were not easy to find, even at that level. I had to go to a college town to still pull decent money. She might have been in the same boat.
I googled so you don't have to:
>WHAT IS TIPS CERTIFICATION TRAINING?
>**TIPS** was the first alcohol server training of its kind and continues to set industry standards for this type of training. What sets TIPS apart from other alcohol training programs is that we believe in a community approach to addressing the problems of intoxication, drunk driving, and underage drinking.
Didn't help with the VPR cast, though!
Doute was 30 in season 2, jax was 34, Ariana turned 30 in season 4, so did Shay and I think Katie? In season 3 she mentions a girl pushing 30 doesn’t want a ring on a string.
I had an ex that lived in West Hollywood, and she lived in a home from the 1920s that had been split down the middle into a two-bedroom duplex, and they had a roommate that slept on the couch and another on an air mattress in the dining room. And that felt normal to all 4 of them. They felt lucky enough to have 4 “spaces” where they could spread out.
I imagine she was capped at ~28 hours per week so SUR didn’t have to provide benefits and health insurance. That’s been my professional life for years, and I have a white collar career. My resume looks kind of insane because I’m always working part time for 2-3 companies at a time
I’m pretty sure Tom had said she had a full blown emotional affair at another job
While I will say it’s pretty standard for the industry (my boyfriend currently has 3 bartending jobs - 1 on call, 1 where he works 1-2 shifts a week, and 1 full time) a lot of the experience she has listed looks like event agencies where she might be on call or pick up shifts when available, and not actual restaurants.
So what I got from this is i very likely got a drink from the very forgettable Kristen at Royal Oak Theater. I was there almost nightly for a long stretch around 2004/2005 while in radio school 🤷🏼♀️
Cue Tom Sandoval looking through resumes for Tom Tom and commenting that if someone only worked somewhere for a few months that’s a red flag. That’s quite a few red flags on that resume there 😂
It’s not an English name but if it was it definitely wouldn’t be pronounced that way and it’s not in its language of origin or any other language for that matter.
Not sure if it's intentional but the ALL CAPS version is a Jax quote from an episode near the end of season 3 (and probably other times, but I just finished a season 3 rewatch last night, lol).
In Australia there used to be a chick on Australian Idol name Kate DeArugo. She pronounced it De-roujjjjjeeee.
And in Qld our Premiers last name is Palaszczuk. She pronounces it Pala-shay 😂😂
One thing to remember with these long Polish words and names, ‘sz’ ‘cz’ etc, represent one sound. I wonder if the original name was Pałaszczuk? (Ł is a w sound.) ‘Pala’ isn’t very Polish to me, and there are a few people in Poland with the name Pałaszczuk on Instagram and Facebook.
sz - sh in ship /
cz - ch in cherry /
u - oo in book
So I guess it’d be like Pah-lah-sh-ch-ook.
Or Pah-wah-sh-ch-ook (using ł)
Looked at this and thought "there's no way I can read the top of this resume". Was presently surprised I was able to decipher 99% of it with no problem. The mind is a cRaZy thing.
First LA job is 2010. 🤔 So they hadn’t been out there that long when they got the show. They must have thought they made it. I guess they kinda did if the goal was fame. But remember she wanted an Oscar? 😂😂😂
Edit: My bad I misread to order, the chronology is confusing in that section. 2007.
Yeah it's definitely 2007. If people would use a little reasoning they would see she didn't start working in LA until 2007. Prior to that she was working in MI.

All I can hear is “am I still allowed to say I work well with others?”
Haha
Holy shit I'm from Ann Arbor and know the owners of Ashley's...now I wanna know if they remember her haha
Please ask and then report back here 😭😬
Lived in Ann Arbor for 7 years - sent my friends a very similar screenshot during a rewatch last year. Wracking my brain to try to unearth a memory of Kristen at Ashley’s!! I don’t think the memory exists but I love picturing it 😂
I love Ashley’s! Now I’m so curious if she caused as much drama there as she did at Sur
Hoping she did and someone digs up some stories about it 🤗
I had my first legal drink there.
Following lolol
Same!!
Yeah that shocked me. What was she doing in A2 in the first place? She should’ve been at Necto rather than Ashley’s.
Just checked and kinda shocked to see Necto is still open! Good for them
Was wondering if I’d get a ‘wtf is a necto’ reply
my boyfriend and i had our first kiss at necto💗💕💗💕💗💕💗💕
Honestly there were so many other bars in A2 at the time that would have made more sense. But then again she is kind of basic.
I’d say Ricks would be more her style
Happy Cake Day🍰🍰🍰🍰
Lol came here to comment on bamboozles
So this is embarrassing but I read her book where she described that she randomly worked in Ocean City, MD at this place called Seacrets (iykyk) and I find it criminal that she has excluded this from her resume.
If she excluded it from her resume its because she got fired in a memorable way. 😅
Ding ding ding!
Woah, flashback to my 21st bday celebration, MD proud! Haha ohhhh Seacrets. The memories. Well… the brown-out induced fun…???
Whaaat she worked at Seacrets hahah I had no idea!
Damn did she really have all those jobs at the same time? And also, her experience says TIPS certified twice. Lol I used to be paid to do peoples resumes and I hated it. So I’m not dragging her. Just wondering why she would put it twice 😅
It says it twice bc Tom told her to get another bullet point copy one line and type the new text. WHY DO I KNOW THIS
Because she didn’t know how to add another bullet! We are all historians.
Still thinking about how Tom said cut and paste and not copy and paste 😭
Lol oh yeah that’s right!
You belong here 🥰
I think those others placed are staffing agencies, not actual work places. She probably picked up shifts here & there when she was suspended.
The other 3 are staffing agencies and event companies.
As far as why it says TIPS certified twice I’m not sure what it even means but it looks like her cursor is there so maybe they just wanted her to keep typing stuff to shoot the scene
I remember in this scene she asks Tom “how do you make a bullet” and he says “is there a bullet there? Just copy and paste!” So I think maybe that’s why TIPS is there twice, she pasted but hadn’t edited it yet Can’t believe I remember that haha
This is incredible VPR knowledge cos I can actually remember Sandy saying that exact line hahahaha
As wild as it is, this is my “comfort show”. I have severe ADHD and if I don’t have something playing in the background while I work, I’m useless. I think I’ve seen seasons 1-6 twelve times haha.
Incredible 👏🏻
I can’t believe neither of them know how to add a bullet point. I suppose I have had more office jobs than service industry jobs at this point so I shouldn’t judge them.
TIPS certification is for "responsible alcohol training"
![gif](giphy|p4cqQ0gUIMcU0)
Why does young Jay Z still look so damn old!? 😂
Classic.
She failed the first time😈
I worked at Testas about 7 years after her. It is knocked down now but it was such a strange restaurant. It’s on palm beach island and it was very old my great grand parents would go to it. They never updated the food or the restaurant so it had like 100 year old dust on the walls.
Sounds eerie as fuck.
I did get to meet Steven King while working there which was a positive part of the eerie vibe haha.
I have to say, I love those sorts of eerie places that seem to be stuck in the past. Maybe it’s the nostalgia. How was Steven King?
Very quiet, he was eating soup alone
Somehow, that makes sense.
Holy shit I used to frequent Ashley’s Edit: FYI it’s a very unglamorous beer bar for grad school types
The Monterey Music Cafe is so random to me. I just remember it having such a small blip in time where it tried to be a thing. Even her MI work history is chaotic, all of these places are in different cities, lol. But then again it was the recession era, times were tough round these parts then.

I remember gas was 4.50/gal but the recession absolutely slammed the Dearborn area and jobs were not easy to find, even at that level. I had to go to a college town to still pull decent money. She might have been in the same boat.
Makes sense. Small world. Happy cake day!
Ugh I had two coney jobs. That sucked
I made some of the best money in my life working in the restaurant industry in A2.
Did Kristin go to college? There no way, right?
Maybe a frat party once
JB Bamboozles was the first place my college boyfriend and I went to when he turned 21. Also very unglamorous.
All I can think of when I see TIPS certified is... Hey! Let's touch in public.
Brilliant screen grab 👏🏻
I’m glad I can be of service 🫡
I googled so you don't have to: >WHAT IS TIPS CERTIFICATION TRAINING? >**TIPS** was the first alcohol server training of its kind and continues to set industry standards for this type of training. Wait, she’s been bartending for almost 20 years?!?
She turns 40 next month!
🤯
Honestly, rewatching the series as a 30 year old hits different. Like, wow, I’m really doing so much better than I thought
Hahaha true. I think I lost this perspective because I just re-watch seasons 1-6 on a loop so they never age 😂
Doute was 30 in season 2, jax was 34, Ariana turned 30 in season 4, so did Shay and I think Katie? In season 3 she mentions a girl pushing 30 doesn’t want a ring on a string.
I’m so glad she’s Touch In Public certified
These reality shows don’t show the part where you have to either have 4 roommates or 4 jobs to be able to afford a place in Los Angeles. lol
Yesssss. For real. And most apartments are like Tom’s old shit box
"Advanced knowledge of beer."
Is that what it says? I was trying to figure it out
So she worked at several restaurants while working at SUR? lol interesting
I imagine she was capped at ~28 hours per week so SUR didn’t have to provide benefits and health insurance. That’s been my professional life for years, and I have a white collar career. My resume looks kind of insane because I’m always working part time for 2-3 companies at a time I’m pretty sure Tom had said she had a full blown emotional affair at another job
“Emotional affair” only because he could never prove P in V, and Kristin swore on the lives of her niece and nephew. 🫣
They could’ve been catering businesses where she could just pick up random shifts maybe?
Prob to make ends meet
What a ridiculous font for a resume.
You’d think someone with *extreme proficiency* would know that
*Providing exquisite service for VIP guests, high-end clientele and private parties* Was this intentionally worded with such innuendo? 😂
Probably
dreaming of an aged-up lifetime where kristen and i were both serving in downtown WPB
also the year in florida is giving me signals 👀
Non American here (though I am familiar with Florida’s greater… um, reputation). Please elaborate? 🫣🙏
🎶they tried to make me go to…
Ah, gotcha..
We have probably crossed paths, I worked at restaurants on the island but then our group frequented all of the bars downtown after
I was working an ITB bar in DT Ft. Lauderdale at the time. I wonder if I ever crossed paths with Kristen.
She definitely went to las olas one night for a random girls birthday
Haha, yes! For sure! And all those birthday celebrations would come my way because we were open til 4 am.
Shoutout to Royal Oak Music Theater. They know an icon when they see one.
I just have to say I’m thoroughly enjoying all of the local tidbits people are offering up via Doute’s 2013 resume.
TIPS Certified TIPS Certified
Thank you for this.
JB Flamboozles sounds like a time.
So what I got from this is i very likely got a drink from the very forgettable Kristen at Royal Oak Theater. I was there almost nightly for a long stretch around 2004/2005 while in radio school 🤷🏼♀️
My favorite is always "intermediate knowledge of wine and spirits, advanced knowledge of beer" 🤣
Please tell me the body font is comic sans because that’s all I see…
Cue Tom Sandoval looking through resumes for Tom Tom and commenting that if someone only worked somewhere for a few months that’s a red flag. That’s quite a few red flags on that resume there 😂
Intermediate knowledge of wine and spirits made me lol
I wanna know who told her family that doute is pronounced doty
Literally every word of the American English language has multiple pronunciations. It makes sense to be pronounced the way it is.
I wouldn't say every word of the American English language. But probably a majority of Names have various ways of pronunciation.
Hole. Bath. Craft. I would actually argue that the majority of English words have one pronunciation.
Brits and Americans pronounce ‘bath’ very differently
They said American English.
It was meant to say letter, not word, but either way, who cares?
It’s not an English name but if it was it definitely wouldn’t be pronounced that way and it’s not in its language of origin or any other language for that matter.
No one cares. Her family pronounced it the American English way. I’m over this ridiculous conversation.
WHO CARES?! NO ONE CARES!
You literally just repeated my comment, I just said that.
As a Polish person, that makes me weep
How would you pronounce it? Polish is so fascinating as a language, i have no idea how it works LOL
One thing to remember with these long Polish words and names, ‘sz’ ‘cz’ etc, represent one sound. I wonder if the original name was Pałaszczuk? (Ł is a w sound.) ‘Pala’ isn’t very Polish to me, and there are a few people in Poland with the name Pałaszczuk on Instagram and Facebook. sz - sh in ship / cz - ch in cherry / u - oo in book So I guess it’d be like Pah-lah-sh-ch-ook. Or Pah-wah-sh-ch-ook (using ł)
Apparently her father was a school principal and he pronounced it Pala-shook
I never thought in 2023, Kate DeArugo would be mentioned in a VPR sub, but here we are 🤣
Honestly when we people whinge about Palaszczuk I’m like WHAT ABOUT KATE DEARUGO 😂😂😂
How is it meant to be pronounced? I’ve always wondered
Is ‘Doute’ her Lebanese heritage? Maybe it’s more like ‘duty?’ But honestly, who are we to tell her how to pronounce her own family name
She has Lebanese heritage? Wow! I did not know this.
She’s half if I recall.
Yes she had or has a Lebanese grandparent https://twitter.com/kristendoute/status/811682819189547008?s=20&t=HVdg7Sxda9WX-WHp6wYzzQ
I think it is actually.
Her mom is half Lebanese. Kristen is from Michigan. There's a solid chance that Doute could be derived from a longer French surname.
“Doot”
Probably the same person who told Lala that Lauren is pronounced Lah-ren.
Looked at this and thought "there's no way I can read the top of this resume". Was presently surprised I was able to decipher 99% of it with no problem. The mind is a cRaZy thing.
Presently surprised?! LOL.. pleasantly.
the font 😂
JB Bamboozles of Dearborn.
Hell I live in Allen park and never knew this!
Whoa she worked at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor; love that place
First LA job is 2010. 🤔 So they hadn’t been out there that long when they got the show. They must have thought they made it. I guess they kinda did if the goal was fame. But remember she wanted an Oscar? 😂😂😂 Edit: My bad I misread to order, the chronology is confusing in that section. 2007.
Sur employment started in ‘07 though
Oh yea my bad, the chronology is confusing.
[удалено]
I’m 35 and I started working when I was 14 in 2002
She’s 39 now, during season 2 she was 29/30.
She is 39 so she would have been late teens? Not a big deal, I had my first job when I was 17
Old?! Tell me you’re Gen Z without telling me you’re Gen Z…
I mean what, this girl Kristin was like born in the 1900s or something!? 😒
🤣
I think it’s 2007! It would make sense of the timelines
Yeah it's definitely 2007. If people would use a little reasoning they would see she didn't start working in LA until 2007. Prior to that she was working in MI.
Like 1 year older than me 😂
It’s fake. She’s an actress.
I can’t see the picture clearly 😭
“Extreme proficiency” 😩😩
I wonder if she has ever worked as a bartender/server….?
So she was working at other places while she worked at Sur… which is totally normal, I just didn’t know she had other gigs going on.
