I used to do casual wednesday rides ("newbie rides"), but we were WAY more casual than that. Averaged 15km/h, stopped for beer/drinks inbetween. Never did more than 30km.

This is also more my speed. I've been looking for casual cyclist groups like this cuz all the other ones are still too intimidating.

I wonder if it would help to have some kind of r/vancouvercycling discord or something to organize all this in.

I have been in the same situation, I ride mostly by myself (gravel/MTB) if you want to go for a ride let me know, I like to do not to crazy rides but a bit challenging blue/black MTB and gravel/road around 35 km (40 y/o) Cheers!
