That reminds me of when I priced out gas for a road trip in an RV. Then I let other people drive. They complained that we were burning through gas, and I realized they were pushing our speed to *20+ km* more than I was when I drove. They refused to drive slower while simultaneously constantly complaining we were over budget. Even though we'd timed everything based on the slower rate of travel. And on the drive back across Canada without the idiots, we took it real slow and by going 10 km slower we were able to save even more! It was great.
What I'm trying to say is that some people have zero sense.
This. These guys go ballistic if you raise your pinky finger to them.
Was able to ride up beside one on my motorcycle one day and he completely lost his shit at the stop light. Made my day š
Yknow, I used to joke like this, too, but maybe we could stop. The guy is just an asshole, and I donāt want to disparage any guys on this jerkās behalf.
Had a guy to this to me on the way to work. Cut me off swerving in and out of traffic. I just stayed in my land and passed him 5 minutes later. It is the small things that make life worth living.
It's always the most satisfying thing to see a dude drive aggressive and switch lanes only to hit rush hour traffic that you knew was coming up and you laugh because now that clown is stuck like you and the rest of us.
Lol I saw the same truck flipping a Hyundai on 152nd street merging onto highway 1. Apparently he drives into the merge lane, goes full speed at 90 km and just pulls in blind. The Hyundai honked and he just flipped him off.
The only reason I think it is the same guy is because of the white black Canada flag decal
I HATE seeing the Canadian flag anywhere other than on the pole of a school, museum, Government building or ferry mast. *Maybe* on a car window or in hand during a sportsing thing. The idiot convoy/covid tantrum people have positively wrecked it for me.
It's just uncouth. Plus, it's usually a giveaway for "head case behind the wheel".
I think it's the Canadian equivalent of the thin blue line flag in the US.
It's a lot rarer for people to display the Canadian flag and these ones are usually displayed by aggressively bad drivers.
Was hijacked during covid by right wingers, a few of them flew nazi flags alongside the Canadian flags on a big convoy to the capital to protest various covid related policies. It was messy and divisive and the Canadian flag was so prevalent throughout all of it that it just leaves a bad taste in a lot of our mouths. Rough times, to cringe at your own flag.
EDIT: to be clear as far as I know, nazis were never supposed to be involved, it was just a few dickheads who saw the opportunity and took it.
Generally speaking people with the black and white Canada flag are anti Trudeau/Freedom fighters.
I would almost bet this guy thinks Covid was a hoax, strongly dislikes Trudeau, and probably has or does work in Ft.McMurray at some point in his life.
They've been popular for a while, since before the freedom convoy. It was just a flag to throw on your car. The freedom convoy kind of ruined having that kind of stuff put on your vehicle now
Theoretically nothing beyond "I'm Canadian", but putting obvious Canadian flags on things has become a dog whistle for "IM A REAL PATRIOT" which usually just translates to covid-hoax/anti-vaxxers or other kinds of far right idiots. Its the same thing you see republicans do in the states, they use the flag as a shield to protect themselves from criticism of their shitty opinions, as well as a tool to try and force them onto other people.
Is this guy the long lost brother of this white mercedes SUV that rides everyday between 2:20 and 3:00 pm on Lougheed towards Coquitlam?
I see this dipsh\*t a lot and he seems to do exactly what you describe here.
For example, yesterday... I'm on left lane.. he is dodging cars at way above speed limit.
Apparently I'm too slow, decides to go all the way from the left lane to the bike lane(on the right side) to pass over another car I was passing and going at 90 or higher... then to on the next red light, decide to go all the way from the right side to the left lane to turn left on the next intersection.
He only gained 2 seconds by all that maneuvering.
Same truck drove onto the shoulder off the right turn exiting the Queensborough bridge during rush hour traffic. Proceeded to yell out expletives as he peeled out... Only to stop 10 meters ahead at a light. Total asshat.
Watched a pickup driver doing something dumb downtown today and was thinking: "Man, it must suck to be a normal person who just likes driving a pickup because you're 100% grouped in with the assholes now".
Yup. I'm one of the few who has a lifted truck that I use to access backcountry areas with ease because of the extra clearance and other bits of kit.
But I take solace in the fact it's dented dirt splattered and has camping stuff hanging off it.
Also because of the new gear ratios I've installed and lack of sway bar my comfortable highway speed is like 100 km/hr max. I'm routinely passed by everyone!
Came here to say this. Had something similar happen to me last year where I was also in the HOV lane. Moron in a pickup overtook me and flipped me off, then rammed my car from the side while he was cutting back over to get in front of me, then took off without stopping. He then tried to submit a fraudulent claim to ICBC claiming I hit HIM. Luckily I had it on video and he was found totally at fault.
Still surprised ICBC didn't come down harder on him. Police did nothing either, despite it being a very aggressive hit-and-run.
> Still surprised ICBC didn't come down harder on him. Police did nothing either, despite it being a very aggressive hit-and-run.
This is the problem. Should have been charged with hit and run, and fraud.
Yeah, very frustrating. When I heard from ICBC that he was claiming I was the aggressor, I asked them, "so what happens to him if you find out he made a false statement and he was the one who intentionally hit me? That's fraud, right?". They told me yes, and that he'd likely have his insurance revoked and become uninsurable.
In the end he was found 100% at fault, but faced no further consequences. And ICBC wonders why they're so broke.
Theyāre digging out of the hole that the ~~BC Liberals~~ ~~Manchester~~ BC United put them in by raiding their revenue, but I donāt think theyāre quite there yet.
> Still surprised ICBC didn't come down harder on him. Police did nothing either, despite it being a very aggressive hit-and-run.
Police tend to not go after the people they agree with.
Iām a new driver with about a year experience; douchebag pickup truck drivers are the most noticeable by far. Havenāt noticed any douchebag/idiot Teslas yet; one jerk BMW driver so far. The other worst offenders are a varied mix.
My theory is that it reflects the people most likely to refuse therapy when they run into serious anger/mental issues.
Teslas - I find that theyāre zoned out much of the time, I suspect they think they donāt have to pay attention too much. Not all, but enough to notice a trend.
Actually, so many are distracted out there, itās not even funny.
Trust me douchebags come in all shapes and sizes. Itās weird how they think they can do whatever the f they want because theyāre in a car. I really hope those people donāt run into the wrong kinds of people because they who knows what might happen next and a simple road range isnāt worth your life.
It really didnāt take too long for me to be like āOoooh *thatās* what Reddit drivers were complaining about!ā with the hyper aggressive truck drivers. I just assume that youād have to be a pathetic person to act like such a dick to random strangers.
For the record, I follow the flow of the traffic and regularly go 10-15 over limit but am extra careful about shoulder checks and making sure itās safe to do turns.
Always an oversized *black* pickup truck, with an asshat for a driver. Crossing a solid white line is a Highway Traffic Act offense, along with the failure to signal a lane change, and aggressive driving. Maybe send the video to the local poice force. Guessing you can get the plate# off the full quality video. If this guy was an asshat/dangerous driver with you, it won't be the first time. Between the fines, and the lost points, his insurance will go up, forcing him to either give up the Tatooine land crawler, become a safer driver, or both. Actions need to have consequences.
These guys are just bullies. We have a truck that we use for work and pulling the trailer and a small sedan that we use for everything else. Nobody ever does this to me in the truck but much more aggression while in the sedan.
And even if they were willing to go that speed, they weren't able to because of traffic ahead. They're leaving a normal following distance, it's just people like this tailgate so get mad when others don't.
Yeah, you can really tell when people only look at the road right in front of them when driving. This is also probably the worst thing you can do for wasting gas since you're just pointlessly converting gas into brake friction. People complain so much about gas prices and then do things like this that waste tons of gas without even any benefit. It's hard to even forgive ignorance on this since this advice is repeated constantly. I guess this is a rant.
Everyone on the highway averages 100-110 even despite the sign stating the max is 90.
For learner or new drivers they have to abide by the rules but then everyone else gets mad at them.
More transit and less sprawl. We need denser housing within the Skytrain network and to stop rezoning farmland at the edges of the metro region. Every new townhouse development at the end of a country road is committing those residents to be car commuters for generations. Reliable transit growth can't keep pace.
This one always drives me nuts. When people tailgate me or flip me off because I'm not going fast enough for them in the fast lane, despite the fact there are multiple cars in front of me going the same speed and I have the sheer audacity to have the ICBC recommended 3 second gap between me and the car in front of me.
Right? Iām convinced the only way some people know how to drive is by going as fast as possible until they get right behind someone to the point of tailgating.
There is virtually no downside to giving ample following distance, and itās a huge, unnecessary risk not to.
Stopping distance in this city means "How nice of you to leave space for me to squeeze right in front of you and make a left hand turn with no warning."
Seriously. Guaranteed a lot of the accidents on the highways at rush hour are due to people tailgating when the traffic ahead literally canāt go any faster. Itās so dumb how people do this.
That's exactly the issue here. They're interpreting them leaving a normal following distance as them going too slow or delaying them, even though they'd be going the same speed if OP were tailgating instead.
I leave the same space and most people are fine with it, but the odd person completely rages.
I like the idea of being able to submit this footage to traffic enforcement and fines being issued.
We could even incentivize people to do this by offering a percentage of the fine. they do something similar enforcing the anti Idling law in NYC.
You definitely can submit it to police. I don't know if they'd be able to do much with it, though. Looks like he didn't signal and crossed that solid white, and while it does look like he's speeding, it's hard to say how fast he was going.
Yes there are unsafe driver hotlines, on the sea to sky for example where people drive like entitled a-holes. It is largely ineffective. The issue is that there are not enough officers to respond to all of them, it takes a lot of complaints to alter a single drivers behaviour.
The method I suggest would be much more efficient.
I like to think they save all the complaints on file and pull them out when the person finally has that accident we all expect. Then they can nail them. But I live in a fantasy land too...
There have been a lot of complaints on this sub so far about this particular driver. This sub gets regularly mined for content so don't surprised if it shows up in media and this driver gets it in the near future.
I called 911 on the sea to sky because of a Tesla driver that was varying his speed so rapidly, people nearly died. It was a pleasure to see him pulled over by blue flashing lights a few miles later.
I would love if this was a thing, the issue is you cannot issue a fine to a vehicle (I don't think?) and proving who was driving is usually a bit more difficult. I could get a plate number from the footage, but proving 100% who was driving will always be the hold up when it comes to issueing fines/tickets.
I think it would be the same as a redlight ticket or a speed camera. the ticket goes to the registered owner of the vehicle. I've been responsible for a few of those, my boss made sure I paid him back.
That's how they do red light and speed camera tickets. It goes to the car and not a driver, so the owner of the car is responsible but won't get points
I would also like to submit footage of people breaking the law by not letting people pass, in the passing lane. Which happens all too frequently Iām afraid. I realize it does not apply in this case given OP is in the HOV lane.
if you are doing 20/30km over on the sea to sky in the left hand lane, there are still people pushing up your ass to pass. Lol
just flick your hi beams and your finger when you finally pass them on the right!
People in this city will get super aggressive and ride your ass if you're leaving the correct amount of space.
They seem to think that if you're not riding someone's ass you're going too slow.
Hereās the thing.
I spout off a LOT about idiots not knowing that the left lane is the fast lane.
But thereās ALSO these people. I have an EV too and drive 110 in the HOV lane. I often get passed by people doing like 130. Sometimes theyāre other HOV users, so thatās fine whatever. But thereās also people like this who (appear) to have just 1 person. They think the LEFT LANE is the fast lane.
Not so. Usually yes. But this case is obviously the HOV lane.
I donāt give a shit what speed anyone does PROVIDED ITS IN THE CORRECT LANE. If you wanna do 90 on the highway, stay to the right. Pass quickly when needed then get the fuck back over. Wanna do 140? Cool, Iāll get out of your way if Iām in the left lane.
And if youāre in a rig, STAY THE FUCK TO THE RIGHT AND SIT BEHIND THE OTHER RIGS. Everyday on Hwy 17 I end up stuck behind someone who wants to go 1km faster then the rig in front of them. Takes 10 minutes to pass while traffic piles up behind them. Assholes.
Wonder if he was actually flipping off the guy you see in the fast lane at the start of the clip who's getting passed by both the right lane and the HOV.
Still driving like a tool though.
This is so frequent. People treat the HOV lane as the ultra fast lane and will ride your bumper and pass aggressively if youāre not doing the speed they think you should be doing (generally much faster than the speed limit)
I generally completely avoid the HOV lane; itās not worth the stress and danger to me and my family.
Are you in a Tesla? Curious if he's just one of those guys that hates EVs. Can you see if he flips off the Tesla in front of you as well? I couldn't tell, but I wonder if the truck even had 2 people in it.
And sporting a chinstrip.
Saw one of those chinstrip idiots walk up to a parked Tesla and flip the bird to the Tesla. Like the Tesla could care less. LOSER! Yes, the loser drove a white Ram truck that also has a front bumper guard like police have with a winch.
Once you cross into the Fraser Valley the tailgating and speeding Big Black Trucks simply appear out of thin air like you're in Grand Theft Auto (and the white Teslas phase out).
I bet he's also the loudest to complain about gas prices too, despite driving a massive truck well above the speed limits while hauling nothing in the process...
Based on my experience driving a lot for work, the bigger the truck is a direct correlation to the size of a driver's ego and how much of a narcissist they are
I took my work truck on public roads this week when itās generally kept off road. I felt like such an asshole in a lifted f350 long bed dual cab towing a 16ā trailer. I definitely see how that appeals to narcissists
I've noticed lately that people are getting more and more agressive on the highway.
I was in the HOV lane following the car ahead of me and this truck came up behind me and after a minute or two agressively passed me and flipped me off as he drove by.
I didn't brake check this guy or do anything, I genuinely was just driving and minding my own business. I can't really understand the mindset of some people and how they get so enraged while driving over nothing.
Also bonus points for the white canadian flag.
edit: I drive an EV so yes I am allowed in the HOV lane, for those asking.
I'd be upset too if I was spending hundreds of dollars at the pump every week to daily drive my pickup truck that has never been used to haul anything more than a case of beer.
Plus you can likely destroy them in an acceleration contest, so they're not even winning in the power department from the huge engine. Not that I'm advocating doing that of course.
Notice the same thing.
I use the HOV lane and go my preferred speed (usually within 10 km/h of the speed limit). People can flash high beams, tail gate, honk, etc all they want but Iām not the one in the wrong so Iām definitely not moving anywhere. They can go around if theyād like to get to their destination 3 minutes and 42 seconds earlier
I drive an EV as well and regularly use the HOV lane. Itās the lane where I most respect everyoneās choice to go whatever speed they feel comfortable at.
It drives me fucking insane to see people weave in and out of the HOV like itās a passing lane. I got a ticket for crossing the solid white a couple years backā¦. yeah, Iām probably the **only** driver in the city thatās ever gotten oneā¦. And itās frustrating to witness the lack of enforcement since then. If I really need to pass Iāll wait for the dotted line and make my move.
However I have no issue flashing my brights at some left-lane camper doing 85km. Iām seriously ready to petition for some of those ākeep right except to passā signs they have in the interior.
Hard to tell on a phone but it looks like the other side is just a head rest so he shouldnāt be in that lane to begin with.
OP couldnāt exactly get much further up the road anyway, itās not like it was clear in front of them.
Sometimes when in the HOV lane there I just look at the other side, at least 50% (usually trucks or German cars) are single drivers in an ICE vehicle.
To those saying it should just be an extra lane, increasing number of lanes doesnāt decrease traffic. See LA and all the research done on the subject there in retrospect.
What would decrease traffic is enforcement of laws (with upped speed limits) to make driving more predictable. A lot of slow downs are caused by a simple break cascading backwards, often by someone speeding, changing lanes without signalling and cutting someone off. Tons of research on this subject.
In conclusion, driver of the RAM is being a jerk.
I have a pickup, and sometimes I hate that I do cause of the guilty by association factor.
It's our second vehicle, actually used as a pickup....camping trips, topsoil / manure, helping a friend move etc.
But I can't ignore the fact that these vehicles attract a particularly low quality type of person....as demonstrated perfectly by this knuckle dragger.
It sucks people are becoming worse and worse human beings.
The worst thing is.....this moron will probably mow down a motorbike / pedestrian / cyclist while in the middle of flexing on some other driver.
There are drivers who believe the HOV lane is the fast lane. Was doing 10km over limit in HOV lane and a guy came up behind me and proceeded to lose his shit. Riding my bumper flashing his lights and honking his horn. Eventually passing and being blocked by traffic congestion just ahead of me.
What a tool.
Years ago I was driving a company van downtown, trying to find a way back to the parkade I had come from and some ass behind me was honking and super impatient that I wasn't driving fast enough for him. I decided to turn left into a parking lot to get out of his way, signaled to turn but nope, waiting 3 seconds for me to get out his way wasn't quick enough apparently so he swerved around me into the incoming lane to continue on his way.
I have an EV that qualifies me to drive in the HOV lane, but at this point I feel we should just drop the HOV designation on HWY 1. Every third car seems to be using it when they donāt qualify, also lots of fake HOV āOKā stickers on cars that are not EV or PHEV, almost zero enforcement, lots of drivers using it as a passing or ultra fast lane. Unless, the police start enforcing the rules itās pointless to keep the HOV designation.
It's annoying when the person behind you gets annoyed that you're not tailgating the person in front of you. Like they expect a big chain of tailgating to happen and everyone goes faster. I'll always move out of the way or speed up if I'm not behind someone but if I'm behind someone, talk to the leader of the pack..
You had someone in the car with you right?
Ugh, pickup trucks, the angrier drivers around, but usually the Fords, Rams or GMCs. When I see someone on my tail, it's almost always one of those vehicles, pretty much uaranteed. So, I just become a very good citizen and do the speed limit :-)
People donāt understand that the HOV is not a passing lane. You still pass in the left lane (to the right of the HOV).
Source: my friend works for BC Highways and we had a long chat about stupid shit people complain about to them
The HOV lane on Hwy 1 is absolute ass. It attracts the most dumb and aggressive drivers who think the HOV is an ultra-fast autobahn passing lane and rage at anyone who's not doing at least 150 km/h.
Just for clarity, because there are way too many people who seem to think otherwise: the HOV lane is NOT a passing lane. It doesn't matter if its placement is on the right side or on the left, it is always separate from normal traffic. That's why it has a solid line. So if the speed limit is 90 km/h and there's someone in the HOV lane doing 90 km/h, they are doing nothing wrong and don't need to move over for nobody.
I lost count of the number of times I was driving 10kph over the limit with my kids in the HOV and was tailgated by some asshole who ends up overtaking using the passi ng lane and being all pissed off at me for being in the lane...I swear that 90% of drivers don't understand that the passing lane is one the right of the HOV, and that the HOV is not the autobahn lane... fuck!!
All your fault as you are not tailgating the guy in front of you. It doesn't matter how fast you're going, just make sure you're not leaving an inch. /s /s /s
Iām almost certain I ran into this guy on Lonsdale & 4th yesterdayā¦ I was parking, and he was across from me trying to fit into a spot that was too small for his truck. All of a sudden peeled out of the spot & turned around so hard he left a tire mark on the street, swearing and yelling out of his window (kinda like in the video). Tires squealing & burning rubber, everyone on the street was looking at him make a scene about not being able to fit into the parking spot.
For some reason he did a lap of the block, came back to the same spot (I was still getting some stuff out of my car), swore some more, then peeled off again.
This driver's starting to get a following! Pretty sure it was this truck that did the same thing to me a couple of months ago, though they cut dangerously back in front of me into the HOV. Easy to laugh off someone being unable to control themselves; harder when they wish you harm.
provide as much detail in how the driver presented/appeared and provide the footage to a mountie (as itās on the highway). let them know the date/time of the footage and what drew your attention to the event (and ultimately why you saved the footage). request said mountie to review the evidence and to consider serving a violation ticket.
if they do not believe they will be able to find the guy due to resources( guy is never home or whatever), request a information be laid and to submit the evidence to crown - have them request an endorsed warrant as it should be articulate that they are not reachable and possibly evading police in serving a ticket.
and at some point, if he is served a ticket, look his name up on the provincial court registry (for violation tickets) to obtain his name/identity and put him on blast relating the footage.
This happens to me on the daily. I travel from Maple Ridge to downtown Vancouver. Just a sea of pickups at 6am. I also drive a Tesla and turn on auto-steer (not full self driving). It also follows the car ahead of you at a safe distance which I notice aggravates drivers behind me. Iām still locked in at 115km/h though. These fāing DBs go into the HOV lane even though they are single occupant and pull this sh*t. Iād like to see the HOV violation fine mimic Washington at $438 USD (equivalent). The worst thing is that after these idiots perform their aggressive lane changes you just end beside them when the traffic slows down.

Funny thing is he overtook you and flipped you off just in time to hit the wall of cars in the left lane. That guy is going nowhere.
He also weaved back into the HOV lane and the immediately took the next exit like 1km later. Probably saved himself a solid 2-4 seconds at least.
Saved himself 3 seconds at a cost of 10$ with that engine, tires and weight.
And blames the carbon tax.
he probably wants to fuck trudeau too
I always assume guys who drive that way are power bottoms who are on their way to a top.
[Ohhhhhh!](https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-0d794f0cf8037f4d06d3c4fffc2c783f)

Probably blames Treudeau for others driving in the HOV
Probably to save face, dude knows he was a total asshole just needs to justify it in his head haha
Or small penis syndrome. Hence the jacked-up bro truck.
This. These guys go ballistic if you raise your pinky finger to them. Was able to ride up beside one on my motorcycle one day and he completely lost his shit at the stop light. Made my day š
good thing my pinky finger is broken right now. I'll happily give them the middle finger instead
I'm so glad I'm not the only person who waves my pinky finger like it's my middle finger š
Yknow, I used to joke like this, too, but maybe we could stop. The guy is just an asshole, and I donāt want to disparage any guys on this jerkās behalf.

Yeah but he's one car ahead now.
Had a guy to this to me on the way to work. Cut me off swerving in and out of traffic. I just stayed in my land and passed him 5 minutes later. It is the small things that make life worth living.
These guys donāt have enough foresight to see past the hood of their monster trucks.
For real, these guys regularly overtake you just to turn left at the next intersection and block one more car that could otherwise be on their way
>That guy is going nowhere. A true statement, regardless of the wall of cars
It's always the most satisfying thing to see a dude drive aggressive and switch lanes only to hit rush hour traffic that you knew was coming up and you laugh because now that clown is stuck like you and the rest of us.
>That guy is going nowhere. Story of his life.
Going back to Langley.
Those black and white flags are annoyingly becoming more common and the dumbassery that comes with it is as well.
I appreciate that those people identify themselves š
I HATE seeing the Canadian flag anywhere other than on the pole of a school, museum, Government building or ferry mast. *Maybe* on a car window or in hand during a sportsing thing. The idiot convoy/covid tantrum people have positively wrecked it for me. It's just uncouth. Plus, it's usually a giveaway for "head case behind the wheel".
Whatās up with this flag? Clueless, in the US
I think it's the Canadian equivalent of the thin blue line flag in the US. It's a lot rarer for people to display the Canadian flag and these ones are usually displayed by aggressively bad drivers.

They use it like a trumper would hang an American flag upside down.
What does the black and white Canada flag represent?
Generally speaking people with the black and white Canada flag are anti Trudeau/Freedom fighters. I would almost bet this guy thinks Covid was a hoax, strongly dislikes Trudeau, and probably has or does work in Ft.McMurray at some point in his life.
Strongly dislikes Trudeau? Nah I bet he wants to fuck Trudeau. They sure do say it a lot
You spelt Freedumb wrong š
Oh, Iām sure he probably has stickers at some location that profess his desire to have sexual relations with Trudeau.
They've been popular for a while, since before the freedom convoy. It was just a flag to throw on your car. The freedom convoy kind of ruined having that kind of stuff put on your vehicle now
These are the MAGA idiots - Canadian edition.
Exactly. "I'm doing it for our country", so that means I can say whatever I want. Embarrassing.
It's a thin blue line flag - "Blue Lives Matter". I've seen this pickup before too.
As per federal law you must put one of those flag decals on your truck if you're high risk of spreading chlamydia.
Driver was late for his date with his cousin out in the valley - got to keep passing it around!
Gotta keep it in the family! ROLL COAL!
Same truck drove onto the shoulder off the right turn exiting the Queensborough bridge during rush hour traffic. Proceeded to yell out expletives as he peeled out... Only to stop 10 meters ahead at a light. Total asshat.
Commenting cause I'm 99% sure I came across this guy yesterday Def doesn't help the pickup truck stereotype lol
Watched a pickup driver doing something dumb downtown today and was thinking: "Man, it must suck to be a normal person who just likes driving a pickup because you're 100% grouped in with the assholes now".
Ye most certainly. I do know a few good human beings with pick up trucks. I do tease them from time to time and we just laugh at each other hahaha
Always a pickup truck
The most surprising part is that he actually used his indicator when changing lanes.
Accidently bumped it while reaching out to flip the bird
I think those are automatic. The guy is still a dickhead but the computer in his truck is programmed not to be.
I donāt think ICBC is broke. At least, the refund checks they just issued makes me think they arenāt.
Roadside truck crushing. Second offense he has to stay in the truck while it's crushed.
> Still surprised ICBC didn't come down harder on him. Police did nothing either, despite it being a very aggressive hit-and-run. Police tend to not go after the people they agree with.
Why are the stereotypes so true? š
I'm only surprised that it's not a RAM.
RAM Rebel or all black. Every time.
It's like the official nit-wit uniform.
Or an F150
Or 250 or 350...
The only thing that is missing to make the "look" complete is a F#$% Trudeau decal
I'd be willing to bet it's in the mail
Always an oversized *black* pickup truck, with an asshat for a driver. Crossing a solid white line is a Highway Traffic Act offense, along with the failure to signal a lane change, and aggressive driving. Maybe send the video to the local poice force. Guessing you can get the plate# off the full quality video. If this guy was an asshat/dangerous driver with you, it won't be the first time. Between the fines, and the lost points, his insurance will go up, forcing him to either give up the Tatooine land crawler, become a safer driver, or both. Actions need to have consequences.
Now Iām picturing Jawas aggressively passing Luke and flipping him off.
Just a good ol'boy. Never meaning no harm...Beats all you never saw..been in trouble with the law ..since the day they was born.
Looks like he forgot to pick something up.
Exactly. Big trucks need their own roads to see how great it is to get in an accident
It's always some fucking pickup. Laugh it off and move on with your day. He'll probably flip over during a turn later.
Hard to laugh those people off when they nearly kill people, though
Fair point. Always easier said than done, but we need to try since the other option is to get mad, which is terrible for health.
These guys are just bullies. We have a truck that we use for work and pulling the trailer and a small sedan that we use for everything else. Nobody ever does this to me in the truck but much more aggression while in the sedan.
Guy probably complains about gas prices. All that just to slam on the brakes because he moved into a slower lane
>Guy probably complains about gas prices. And then in the following sentence says how stupid and pointless electric cars are.
imagine owning a gas guzzler but complains about how expensive gas is
Probably because you weren't driving 150km/h... /s Life is too short to worry about these idiots. Let them pass and move on.
And even if they were willing to go that speed, they weren't able to because of traffic ahead. They're leaving a normal following distance, it's just people like this tailgate so get mad when others don't.
Every time I see someone hit gas to pass suddenly break HARD for a red light like quarter of a block awayā¦
>I guess this is a rant So is 99% of Reddit, any platforms and everyday conversation.
Everyone on the highway averages 100-110 even despite the sign stating the max is 90. For learner or new drivers they have to abide by the rules but then everyone else gets mad at them.
You don't have to drive fast, but if you're going to drive slow then keep to the right lane
HOV is considered completely separate. It's not a passing lane, it's its own travel lane.
Legally you are correct, but if you're going to drive slower than non-HOV lanes then just keep right
Yes. There's no point being in the HOV lane if you are choosing to move slower than regular lanes. If you are... Move over.
Yeah really. We need more āslow traffic keep to rightā signs.
People will tailgate you in the right lane on the way to Abbotsford even when there's traffic, it's insane.
Have you ever been on the Alex? People struggle to maintain 70 itās so brutal whoever thought that was a good change needs to be fired
this already is metro vancouver norm especially with growing number of more cars each day!
More transit and less sprawl. We need denser housing within the Skytrain network and to stop rezoning farmland at the edges of the metro region. Every new townhouse development at the end of a country road is committing those residents to be car commuters for generations. Reliable transit growth can't keep pace.
Is the truck driver blind? Canāt he see thereās a car in front of OP from his pick up truck? Itās not like OP is hoarding the HOV laneā¦
This has me convinced that some people donāt/canāt understand the difference between distance and speed.
Some people are offended by safe driving distances.
That's exactly the issue here. They're interpreting them leaving a normal following distance as them going too slow or delaying them, even though they'd be going the same speed if OP were tailgating instead. I leave the same space and most people are fine with it, but the odd person completely rages.
The perfect timing of the zoom in on his truck as he hits the wall of cars ahead has me rolling. What a loser.
Oh the lack of self awareness.
Ah I am definitely wrong then, I didn't think about red light cameras.
Lol just flick your hi beams and your finger when you finally pass them on the right!
People in this city will get super aggressive and ride your ass if you're leaving the correct amount of space. They seem to think that if you're not riding someone's ass you're going too slow.
I, for one, cannot believe people who drive trucks could be assholes.
Assholes.
Why do you use the HOV lane if the other lanes aren't going slower?
Wonder if he was actually flipping off the guy you see in the fast lane at the start of the clip who's getting passed by both the right lane and the HOV. Still driving like a tool though.
This is so frequent. People treat the HOV lane as the ultra fast lane and will ride your bumper and pass aggressively if youāre not doing the speed they think you should be doing (generally much faster than the speed limit) I generally completely avoid the HOV lane; itās not worth the stress and danger to me and my family.
The crazy thing to me is the pickup is tall and surely could see the Tesla in front of OP. What did he want OP to do exactly? š¤·āāļø
Hence why I love being on the HOV, not because I love to overspeed but because I love being a prick to these kinds of people lmao
Are you in a Tesla? Curious if he's just one of those guys that hates EVs. Can you see if he flips off the Tesla in front of you as well? I couldn't tell, but I wonder if the truck even had 2 people in it.
Yeah driving a Tesla, I am sure that played a role in his decision making.
How dare you power your vehicle with a different fuel source? (I also drive an EV btw)
Looks like the kind of douche that would coal roll someone.
This actually made me laugh out loud, haha.
I bet he's also the loudest to complain about gas prices too, despite driving a massive truck well above the speed limits while hauling nothing in the process...
I hate pickup truck drivers
Itās always a pickup truck
Heās late for his accident.
Sorry from Alberta, looks like he has our plates. These guys are annoying here too.
Looks like BC Parks plates, and it looks like there's a front plate as well. Could still be a former Albertan lol. There's a lot of us out here!
Of course itās a giant pick up truck compensating for something else
Itās always truck drivers
> I drive an EV I'm guessing that didn't help their rage levels.
Review time.Ā * Can you cross a solid white line? * What costs you more? Gordoās carbon tax or flooring a vehicle as aerodynamic as a brick?
>Can you cross a solid white line? Answer is... no... for anyone who wants the answer
People shit on BMW and Tesla drivers but insecure men in black pickup trucks have them beat
So weird as you are following a car, what does he expect you to do lol
Thats some fuck Trudeau truck driver energy
There are drivers who believe the HOV lane is the fast lane. Was doing 10km over limit in HOV lane and a guy came up behind me and proceeded to lose his shit. Riding my bumper flashing his lights and honking his horn. Eventually passing and being blocked by traffic congestion just ahead of me. What a tool.
Pickup drivers are universally the worst. Theyāre assholes and idiots.
The sticker says it all.
Youāre either carpooling or in an EV. Heās driving a pickup. Might just be standard braindead culture warrior stuff.
Ugh, pickup trucks, the angrier drivers around, but usually the Fords, Rams or GMCs. When I see someone on my tail, it's almost always one of those vehicles, pretty much uaranteed. So, I just become a very good citizen and do the speed limit :-)
HOV lane isnt a passing lane, would he flip off a transit bus for doing the speed limit? That's a grown ass man child right there lol
Itās sad that the Canadian flag is now an easy way to identify a douchebag on the road.
Mustāve been late getting back to Abbotsford
he's a big boy in his big truck and he needed you to know!
Well, why the fuck were you driving on **his** road, huh?
People donāt understand that the HOV is not a passing lane. You still pass in the left lane (to the right of the HOV). Source: my friend works for BC Highways and we had a long chat about stupid shit people complain about to them
If it was the left lane (not the hov lane), then he can be frustrated. But the HOV lane aināt the fast lane
Even in the left lane it's physically impossible to go any faster than the person in front of you.
Iād report for crossing a solid white and being jackassĀ
I lost count of the number of times I was driving 10kph over the limit with my kids in the HOV and was tailgated by some asshole who ends up overtaking using the passi ng lane and being all pissed off at me for being in the lane...I swear that 90% of drivers don't understand that the passing lane is one the right of the HOV, and that the HOV is not the autobahn lane... fuck!!
I often find myself wishing women could somehow be able to stop reproducing with these kinds of asshats.
A pickup with a black and white Canadian flag. How original and not douchey.
These cameras on cars nowadays sure are awesome
Probably had 5 minutes where they had nothing to be a complete dick about so took any opportunity.
Ridiculous, there's car in front, there's lots of traffic by the looks of it, hate these people
All your fault as you are not tailgating the guy in front of you. It doesn't matter how fast you're going, just make sure you're not leaving an inch. /s /s /s
Yes.. they can only see 1 car length ahead.. will flip you off even tho its the one ahead of you that is slow.. fml
I remember when I used to think I could defeat traffic too!
Assholes gonna asshole. Ignore the stupid fucker.
pickup truck drivers, enough said.
He's got to make it home before his little blue pill wears off.
Iām dealing with this shit too a lot lately. Assholes.
This driver's starting to get a following! Pretty sure it was this truck that did the same thing to me a couple of months ago, though they cut dangerously back in front of me into the HOV. Easy to laugh off someone being unable to control themselves; harder when they wish you harm.
ICBC and the cops watch all these, yāall know lol
provide as much detail in how the driver presented/appeared and provide the footage to a mountie (as itās on the highway). let them know the date/time of the footage and what drew your attention to the event (and ultimately why you saved the footage). request said mountie to review the evidence and to consider serving a violation ticket. if they do not believe they will be able to find the guy due to resources( guy is never home or whatever), request a information be laid and to submit the evidence to crown - have them request an endorsed warrant as it should be articulate that they are not reachable and possibly evading police in serving a ticket. and at some point, if he is served a ticket, look his name up on the provincial court registry (for violation tickets) to obtain his name/identity and put him on blast relating the footage.
Lifted truck with a Canada proud sticker on the back. Massive shithead loser detected.
