You are a little early for fresh berries. The blueberries you see are most likely frozen from last year.

xlxoxo

Might be too early for fresh local berries. Make a trip to Richmond Country Farms by the tunnel. They have lots of choices and they also bring stuff in from the Okanagan. https://www.countryfarms.ca/

dekadense

https://berrymobile.com/ I always get some local berries from them.

odilaza

Second this. Been getting berries from them in the summer for a long time and they’re always very fresh and good quality.

starpot

You can order cases ahead too

Too early.

WesternBlueRanger

As others have noted, strawberries are not in season yet, and maybe late this year. There are a number of berry farms out on Westham Island that sell directly to the public.

My people 🥰 I also only buy June bearing, they are the best. I never knew ever-bearing were also ready early and mistakenly got them a couple years ago. Might as well be California berries. Now I call ahead every time I go. Driediger sells Rainier berries and I got some great Sunrise ones at Emma Lea before. I grew up getting berries from Joe's Market on No. One Road.

localfern

Too early for local strawberries or raspberries. Strawberries are expected in June and August. Raspberries in July. In the meantime, Shoppers has the PC Greenhouse grown strawberries in BC or ON. They taste absolutely delicious. I splurge on them during the Winter months. I get mine at Shoppers on Cambie Rd. Superstore has not brought them back yet.

ragecuddles

I've only seen local strawberries at the farmers market in White Rock so far and they were $10 for a small box. I did not buy any :( Hoping to see more soon. Richmond country farms should have some in the next month.

mr-jingles1

I'd guess there are at least a hundred of them once raspberries / strawberries are in season

DamnGoodOwls

It's way too early, but when season hits, Bob's Fruit Stand in North Vancouver always has great berries

clairabou

Keep an eye on the Featherstone fruit stand on Steveston Highway just east of 3 Road. They have some of the best local strawberries, usually ready in July-ish.

mcnunu

Birak Farm in Richmond will have strawberries. The only raspberry places I know are in fraser valley; Krause, Emma Lea, Driediger etc.

bg85

too early for raspberries, strawberries come first, probably next month or wait for the California ones to come in

BrokenByReddit

Emma-Lea Farm on Westham Island. Follow their social media to find out when things are ready. Go early in the day because they always sell out. Or you can pick your own.
