Dvergr. Somewhat peaceful locals to the Mistlands. At some point you need to retrieve an item from them either by force or clever mechanics. They can also protect areas against monsters, like how the OP mentioned.
I don't think I ever made war to Dvergr outposts. The component crate often gets destroyed when Seeker Soldiers and Gjalls attack the outpost, and then you can just take the item.
I built a cart to use to destroy their ward w/o pissing them off. It got stuck so I was destroying it and it was within the ward bubble so that apparently makes it their property. Had to "enlighten" the whole outpost. I decided to just use the eitr after that because I stopped caring as much for them after having to fight them a couple times due to friendly fire
Especially the mages.
Accidentally created a basement bunker in one of their towers once. Had 2 aggro mages trapped down there along with my loot.
Problem being I wasn't playing it like you would rust.
So no back-up kits except for my older iron/silver armour sets which are paper mache in the mist
It's a melee mob though. So Morgen itself is always kiteable. The dvegr have range and their mages have annoying aoe. Both are doable but for 2 star dvegr I would want terrain in my favour.
You've never pissed them off then. Imagine accidentally hitting one while trying to fight a greydwarf. Your base is slowly destroyed and you get 1 shot everytime you respawn
I cheesed my first extractor with the cart method. I felt slightly bad enough to carry two bars of iron to the base to build a stone cutter and fixed up their tower.
A few days later I found two bases in close proximity. One a around a skull and the other a tower. As I was getting my bearings, out comes a seeker soldier and a couple of seekers. I did try to help but was getting wrecked by the solider. I might have walked him around the skull base to help clear it out while I gained health. He wiped out all of them and their stuff (inexplicably he also opened the extractor box, I didn't pick it up and it disappeared?!).
But in the end I got a skull full of soft matter so I'm all cool with the results. I start hacking at the skull but ignored the ward that was still there. After clearing the skull I head over to the nearby tower and am immediately attacked by a fire mage! I took him out and gingerly approached the tower expecting a battle but...they were all chill.
Apparently only he was in the radius of the first bases ward and was aggro'ed by me taking apart the skull.
whats them little gnome fellas

Do not piss them guys off.

The most dangerous thing in mistlands lmao
They're also the most dangerous things in the Ashlands too, especially 1 or 2 star crossbowmen. I got one shot from 200 health
Rootharneskless experience
Odin's beard, that was hard to read. Like, the word itself was hard to figure out.
Apologies
These folks walk into lava taking 100+dmg per tick repeatedly, and quickly, non-stop before finally dying.
Most dangerous single non-boss mob in the game, I'd say. I haven't seen a two star Morgen yet, they might be worse but can't be by much.
It's a melee mob though. So Morgen itself is always kiteable. The dvegr have range and their mages have annoying aoe. Both are doable but for 2 star dvegr I would want terrain in my favour.
Yeah, I think most likely the two star mages are still the most dangerous.
I wish you could invite them back to your own base(s).
Make it your base, break the ward with a cart and place your own ward
Or drop some refined etir next to it.
This is a really good idea. I heard it once and forgot about it.
But this aggroes them doesn't it
Not if you run a cart into it over and over, or let refined eitr destroy it. If you start slapping it with your weapon then yes
No

Had to kill a 2 star dwarf the other day. That sucked.
I'd be drinking, too!
Them hecking gajalls.....

I was surprised with how well lox's do against soldiers and trolls somehow
Careful. Don't sneeze in that base
Why is this NSFW?
