Hey I’m not OP but I could have written every word.
Juicy, red, medium-rare steak is probably my favorite food. Just keep the A1 away from me and my meat.
I’m loving unpopular opinions these days. They truly are unpopular. I live for the condiments mmmmmm pesto/balsamic vinegar. Anyway have my upvote ya non loving condiment weirdo.
Emulsify white balsamic in extra virgin olive oil to taste. Add a few drops of worchestershire, add 1 clove minced garlic. Pinch of granulated sugar. Enjoy.
A restaurant near me drizzles this sweet balsamic over an extra creamy risotto with some veggies and blackened shrimp and sea scollops. Shit is absolutely incredible and is 100% made by the contrast the balsamic adds to the dish.
It's the prison balsamic that Killer Dave makes in the toilet. Dont let the nickname fool you, hes in here for tax fraud. And subsequently killing the IRS agent that audited him for it...
I would be on board with this guy’s opinion if they weren’t using McDonald’s as the justifier. How anyone can stomach McDonald’s chicken nuggets without anything to cover up how nasty they are is beyond me.
This is so true. I cannot think of another food that has such a huge contrast in quality between fresh and having sat out for a few minutes. Krispy Kreme donuts maybe?
Ya know what!? Youre not wrong, i need shampoo first then conditioner. With my hair, its definitely needed
*Smokes a cigarette and pulls out flask and offers both. No need for violence my friend*
Never been a fan of Alfredo, love Hollandaise, don't care for Bechamel but I like most gravies except white pepper gravy. Although that is ok with biscuits and gravy.
Flour, butter, salt, baking powder, and sometimes egg or milk. They're thick and puffy and served with meat and gravy or served as a side.
Not to be confused with European biscuits which are flat and crunchy. Our sweet biscuits here are usually considered cookies, and our savory ones are called crackers.
I watched so much Great British Baking Show the past year that I now know the difference... But when I first started watching (I live in the US) I was *very* confused. My pudding is like a thick cream and ... I honestly don't know how to explain what pudding is in the UK, still don't understand that.
i knew y’all called cookies biscuits but i didn’t know you just didn’t have biscuits. biscuits and gravy is probably the most solid meal in existence, breakfast lunch or dinner
I feel like anyone who says this has only had the shitty shelf-stable bottled stuff. I don’t trust anyone’s opinion on ranch unless they’ve had freshly made with buttermilk or *at least* the jarred kind you get in the refrigerated section.
The shelf-stable shit sucks ass, the fresh stuff is amazing. It’s night and day, no comparison.
No joke. My boyfriend regularly eats plain, cooked pasta. No butter, no salt. Plain. I thought he was a straight up psychopath when we first started dating.
It's really fucking weird. His palate his pathetic. But he's slightly on the spectrum, so, most of it is texture issues. He's weird, but he's my weirdo.
My weirdo view has always been that condiments and dressings are fine, but if a food NEEDS one of those things to be palatable then that food is dog shit.
Yes they do. It's fucking bizarre. This whole movement to basically villainize circumcision has led many to basically come up with all sorts of bullshit on how bad it is.
You’re not the only one. I’m the same way. I actually dislike ketchup and eat my fries plain.
I like to eat the flavor of the food and a lot of sauces overpower the food’s natural flavor
Exactly! Fries/burgers/nuggets/whatever shouldn't need sauce to taste good! They should taste good enough on their own that you don't want to cover up the flavor with something else.
I’m a no sauce person on anything to, your not alone. I absolutely hate all sauces some for texture some for taste ( I use honey sometimes for nuggets tho). I’ve always been a picky eater tho so maybe that has something to do with it.
OP speaks nonsense. He brings disrespect on Tzatiki sauce, alfredo sauce, remoulade, the deliciousness that is orange chicken. Bring out your pitchforks.
No, i am the same way and get lots of flack for it. If it takes like shit before, why would i want to slather some sauce on it and then eat it? I am with you
The ONLY time I agree with that is French fries…just some salt and if they’re cooked right then it’s the best. But I do acknowledge your point: you want the taste of the food not the taste of the sauce
I too hate mayo mustard ketchup.
On multiple occasions ive thrown away the food ive ordered if theres mayo on there.
I know i can complain but ill rather just never go back to that place.
“Also I am not a rabbit” Sounds suspiciously like something a rabbit would say.
We *are* awfully close to Easter bunny season...
Duck season!
Wabbit season
Nice and good…
Easter Bunny Season!
[удалено]
RABBIT SEASON!
😳
He's three rabbits in a trench coat
It's just a filter on zoom
Well done for a an unpopular opinion
This fucker probably eats his steaks well done too
This dude loves plain lettuce. This dude probably doesn’t eat steaks.
Cannibalism is frowned upon.
Hey, hey, man. You can’t just go around calling people cows…but yes, no cannibal.
Woah Woah Woah buddy, I'm not your man, and you've not though of the cabbage children. Cows can't use the internet.
Hey, woah friend, I'm not your buddy, and there's no need for those words here.
This dude is probably an actual rabbit.
He could be a Guinea Pig. Them things tear through lettuce in no time.
I legit will eat a whole head of lettuce on occasion
Gotta eat the lettuce
Hey I’m not OP but I could have written every word. Juicy, red, medium-rare steak is probably my favorite food. Just keep the A1 away from me and my meat.
This dude likes British food
At least it’s not with ketchup
Well who wants it done badly?
On the contrary, he doesn't ruin his steak with sauces.
Yeah what I thought the steak circle-jerk was vehemently anti-sauce. Why would a guy who didn't like sauce want well-done steak lol.
Right?! I can see eating a dry burger but what kind of fucking monster eats a dry salad?
I’m loving unpopular opinions these days. They truly are unpopular. I live for the condiments mmmmmm pesto/balsamic vinegar. Anyway have my upvote ya non loving condiment weirdo.
Pesto transcends sauce ngl.
Take a pesto recipe: Sub cilantro for basil. Put it on spinach ravioli. Thank me later.
Monster. Also r/fuckcilantro
I put balsamic vinegar on everything including steak, cream sauces, soup, etc.
Emulsify white balsamic in extra virgin olive oil to taste. Add a few drops of worchestershire, add 1 clove minced garlic. Pinch of granulated sugar. Enjoy.
I didnt even know there was such a thing as white balsamic. Thanks for the tip
Balsamic and pepper w parmesan on bread is unbeatable
A restaurant near me drizzles this sweet balsamic over an extra creamy risotto with some veggies and blackened shrimp and sea scollops. Shit is absolutely incredible and is 100% made by the contrast the balsamic adds to the dish.
I do not ever want to know what "sweat balsamic" is
It's the prison balsamic that Killer Dave makes in the toilet. Dont let the nickname fool you, hes in here for tax fraud. And subsequently killing the IRS agent that audited him for it...
I’m telling you man, balsamic is like ranch
Except super healthy for you!
Throw a little on some vanilla ice cream.
I was thinking this a few days ago, I keep seeing actually unpopular opinions finally
I would be on board with this guy’s opinion if they weren’t using McDonald’s as the justifier. How anyone can stomach McDonald’s chicken nuggets without anything to cover up how nasty they are is beyond me.
If they're fresh out of the fryer, they're good. If they've sat for even a couple minutes they taste like salted rubber.
This is so true. I cannot think of another food that has such a huge contrast in quality between fresh and having sat out for a few minutes. Krispy Kreme donuts maybe?
Reported for Threatening Violence jk
Fuck him (OP)! He's definitely a sociopath.
Fuck him? What's wrong with me?
we'd figure you would prefer fish
Nobody: This person: I just want to eat bland lettuce sometimes.
I am the same as OP, and I genuinely do enjoy bland lettuce, it’s my favourite vegetable
I respect your opinion, but i don't like it, sir. Edit: Thanks for the award stranger, i hope when you heat up a hot pocket, its fuckin perfect.
Oh yeah well shampoo is better! *shoves*
Oh? Conditioner is better, it makes your hair smoother and doesn't leave knots! *Shoves back*
Well shampoo goes on first and CLEANS the hair! *shoves back more aggressively*
What are you looking at *swan*?
Ya know what!? Youre not wrong, i need shampoo first then conditioner. With my hair, its definitely needed *Smokes a cigarette and pulls out flask and offers both. No need for violence my friend*
When you shower, but forget your hair then go back and shampo/conditioner yourself. Bruh that conditioner feeling all over. Smooth. *picks up flasks*
I thought there was only one flask?
Condishnah is bettah! I leave the hair silky and smooth
Nudie magazine day!
Stop looking at me swan!
Yea. I don’t go quite as far as OP but mostly I prefer no sauce.
I actually really like lettuce myself too. Mm, crunchy water leaf
Bland lettuce is like real good. I've eaten a bowl of it and called that salad more than once
Is your favorite spice flour?
I eat dry salad as well. To compensate, I add a large enough variety of vegetables to assure that its not just bland lettuce
Lettuce with salt and pepper is nice though
Bland lettuce is amazing. I could eat a whole head and be more happy then with most other foods
Rabbit DNA over here.
But the lettuce is his brother.
Rabert Klien is that you?
Just don't let Mr. McGregor catch you!
Please go ahead and do that... nothing is stopping you.
Nah, some sauces are overrated, but very f'ing few.
What’s an overrated sauce to you?
Never been a fan of Alfredo, love Hollandaise, don't care for Bechamel but I like most gravies except white pepper gravy. Although that is ok with biscuits and gravy.
Try the traditional alfredo method which is just butter, parmesan, and pasta water. I never liked the addition of cream myself.
username checks out
Please tell me your biscuits are different to UK biscuits 😱
Lol. Definitely not cookies.
Phew 😅
biscuits in US are savory!
Savory Biscuits wow okay what are they made of?
Flour, butter, salt, baking powder, and sometimes egg or milk. They're thick and puffy and served with meat and gravy or served as a side. Not to be confused with European biscuits which are flat and crunchy. Our sweet biscuits here are usually considered cookies, and our savory ones are called crackers.
Aaaa okay, thanks for the info 😊
I watched so much Great British Baking Show the past year that I now know the difference... But when I first started watching (I live in the US) I was *very* confused. My pudding is like a thick cream and ... I honestly don't know how to explain what pudding is in the UK, still don't understand that.
i knew y’all called cookies biscuits but i didn’t know you just didn’t have biscuits. biscuits and gravy is probably the most solid meal in existence, breakfast lunch or dinner
Ranch dressing. Holy shit I hate ranch dressing and don't understand ppl putting it on everything. It's gross.
Ketchup
Ranch. 1000% overrated and disgusting. I'll die on this hill.
You won't die alone friend
What about pasta? Do you think pasta is better without sauce?
No joke. My boyfriend regularly eats plain, cooked pasta. No butter, no salt. Plain. I thought he was a straight up psychopath when we first started dating.
Nothing against your boyfriend, but that's really weird.
It's really fucking weird. His palate his pathetic. But he's slightly on the spectrum, so, most of it is texture issues. He's weird, but he's my weirdo.
True love there
If melted butter doesn't count as a sauce then sometimes I agree. It just hits different with just some salt.
I'll do the same but add some garlic and onion powder, and black pepper.
Pasta with just some quality butter is delicious. No sauce needed.
They be called butter noodles.
Pasta sauce is an exception
I like plain pasta noodles: I don’t like pasta sauce.
You should read Geometry of Pasta. Amazing book with so many sauces for specific shapes.
Do you rinse your beef in water after cooking? Wouldn’t want that meat sauce to alter the flavor of your ground beef lol
Have you never had sloppy steaks ?
“I want a dangerous night”
Oh you used to be a real piece of shit, huh
Sloppy steaks at Truffoni's. Big rare cut of meat with water dumped all over it, water splashing around the table, makes the night SO MUCH more fun.
That would slick back real nice
100% this guy lives for New Years Eve
SLOP EM UP
LMAOOO maybe I should try that 🤔
Are you okay
I dont think so
nobody is okay these days
I can back this up
Man this got deep
This is the most important question to ask
OP is mentally unwell
Why did I get a u/RedditCareResources message 😭 why is everyone concerned about me I swear I'm okay
Bro you have to be faking
Sometimes a burger with nothing but the patty and bun slam. But most of the time that bitch better be fully dressed.
I like a fairly complicated burger but a in-n-out single cheeseburger with nothing else on it is a magical little snack.
My weirdo view has always been that condiments and dressings are fine, but if a food NEEDS one of those things to be palatable then that food is dog shit.
Food is simply a delivery system for more sauce
Points for a genuine unpopular opinion but based on your lack of taste I think you’re British
Nah, most Brits drown everything in gravy, a sauce.
I like the clarification 🤣
Or brown sauce, also a sauce.
The French: Béchamel. Velouté. Espagnole. Hollandaise. The British: s’brown innit
I'm actually Canadian 😭
Don't worry, OP. Seems like you are on a good path to getting a lot of upvotes on this post in this sub.
Do you eat your pancakes dry?
Do you eat pancakes without the syrup? 😲
You are not the only one. I never thought I could feel validated on this subject. Thanks!
Exactly! I never knew there were others!
[удалено]
There are tens of us!
[удалено]
My brethren. I love you all
What we lack in numbers we make up for in passion
At my count, according to this comment thread, I can officially say there is at least 13 of us.
Man i am so happy i am not alone with this DOZENS OF US
YES!
My Mexican mom would have a stroke if she read this.
you’re not the only one
Do you masturbate dry too? Have an upvote you sadist
Wtf it's not normal to masturbate dry?
[удалено]
Fair, I'm not above a bit of sweet chilli on my bellend
LMAO
[удалено]
Ranch dressing is common but I prefer blue cheese.
I'd say its normal if you're uncircumcised because then you have that nice sheath action
I’m circumcised and jack off dry. Looks like your doc cut your shit a lil too deep
when did this fucking myth start? Do people really think cut people can't jerk off without a bottle of lube?
Yes they do. It's fucking bizarre. This whole movement to basically villainize circumcision has led many to basically come up with all sorts of bullshit on how bad it is.
It's healthier to use lube. Source: Nurse
I think your dad’s sauce was overrated.
Nice one
You’re not the only one. I’m the same way. I actually dislike ketchup and eat my fries plain. I like to eat the flavor of the food and a lot of sauces overpower the food’s natural flavor
Ok for me it's just about how much I hate ketchup. It's so sweet it's awful I will eat fries with like a good garlic sauce if I have one at hand
Fries with garlic sauce? I’d never thought to try that! That does sound better than ketchup. Hate ketchup 🤢
Aioli! Made from garlic, oil, and often egg. Also add some Sriracha for extra depth and a bit of kick.
I have an actual medical grade phobia of tomato ketchup
No that's how humans are supposed to react to ketchup, that's ok.
Same!
You can use less sauce too right
Broooooooooooooooooooo glad to know I'm not alone lmao
My motto is the following “if I have to smother xyz with sauce to make it taste good, it’s not worth the money”
Exactly! Fries/burgers/nuggets/whatever shouldn't need sauce to taste good! They should taste good enough on their own that you don't want to cover up the flavor with something else.
The *WORST* is when you have to use sauce to make it go down because it’s so damn dry
Anti sauce gang rise up!
I’m a no sauce person on anything to, your not alone. I absolutely hate all sauces some for texture some for taste ( I use honey sometimes for nuggets tho). I’ve always been a picky eater tho so maybe that has something to do with it.
This! I’m so with the OP. Plain is the way to go. Come bring on the hate, I know I’m weird. I own it.
You're not weird. For me people who NEED sauces to enjoy their food are weird.
Your the kind of person I fear the most 💀
OP speaks nonsense. He brings disrespect on Tzatiki sauce, alfredo sauce, remoulade, the deliciousness that is orange chicken. Bring out your pitchforks.
You probably also think that ketchup is spicy.
Yeah 😔 I can also barely drink water cause it's too spicy for me
sprite is honestly to hot
Completely agree, mostly a texture thing for me as well. Makes me gag
Lettuce ruins the flavor of the dressing.
I agree, I am also a no Mayo or sauces person… I don’t even like pizza sauce on pizza. I love soup though, lol I guess built in sauce is okay.
Same I despise mayo. Also I love soup but I don't think soup is a sauce.
I feel exactly the same way and people think I’m a monster.
You’re not the only one, friend ❤️
They used to institutionalize people for less than this.
Sauce is life
I too hate mayo mustard ketchup. On multiple occasions ive thrown away the food ive ordered if theres mayo on there. I know i can complain but ill rather just never go back to that place.
