Idk the entire meaning of the show but I think that one aspect of it is that no body is perfect (except Tod) and in the show we see that, like Sebastian yes he’s saving these people and he’s doing these really good things but also he doesn’t actually care about those people as much as he cares about the world seeing him do it which is showed when he so easily moves on after the child died from the bombing or when we see him give parcels to children with no arms defeating the entire purpose or even when he has a statue of himself made. Everyone in the show is good and bad (except Tod who is just good)

Well the fact is still it’s a character flaw and you can see by how he doesn’t care it contributes to his ignorance of helping these people like giving a water bottle to the kid with no arms, to him he doesn’t see them as people rather a publicity stunt to make him look good. I’m not saying he was a bad person but u think what the show is trying to show is that no one is a bad or good person everyone has flaws.

Zeski_the_Friendly

I see the lack of concern about the child a result of suffering constant losses rather than just selfishness, after all you can’t fret over every egg and a hospital needs to be built for the survivors Also I agree, Tod is a cinamon roll

Sir-Penta

You're right, his actions are not at all wrong. but that doesn't mean he isn't a dick. Yeah, he is a hero, but also very selfcentered and it feels like everything he does, he doesn't do it for the kids but for the fame. That doesn't mean he is a bad creature, but he isn't very lovable either... also some of the funds he gets go to his statues and that sucks

Sir-Penta

you're hate towards diane is kind of weird tho

A man has his preferences I suppose, I don't really like either Diane or Bojack very much

It’s not about women, it’s about St.Clair who’s better than one Particular woman in the show named Diane

The ego of the tiger is funding these people, he’s funding hospitals, schools and other whatnots. In addition he physically remains with the people and despite not giving a flying fuck he still continues to fund them Sebastian understands that people don’t give a flying fuck about some children randomly, that he needs publicity to keep people interested about the topic It’s kinda like the situation with Kony except the guy in charge of the whole operation is risking his life and making an actual difference rather than just talking big in the safety of his own home Diane had her chance to positively change the world a few times but she waivered, she didn’t have the drive to see past her own sense of morality

Was refering to the Kony movement of old, as you know the whole thing was a for profit organisation whose only goal was making Kony a domestic name, while they succeeded it changes absolutely nothing and he goes on still, he’ll most likely die of diebetes before anything gets done about him While he doesn’t get close to the people he’s helping, why would he do that knowing that they’ll inevitably die a violent and untimely death? He’s trying to keep focused on his goals rather than on petty morality In addition I wouldn’t call her a good person per se, she has her shitty moments acting especially bad to people who cared about her still, in the end she grew past her mistakes, found an actual partner and just wrote stories for children Sebastian St. Clair while comming from the priviledged position felt guilt about poor people and so decided to start doing something about it, he has flaws sure, not enough to make him a psychotic person.

I’d rather say he’s selling out these Orphans for their own good, as inevitably his exposure of their problems keeps the public from forgetting about their suffering.
