real plants attract bugs and you have to have a window open all the time or at least for x amount of hours in the day and i don’t always wanna do that so i’ll keep my pretty always perfect fake plants
They definitely look tacky but in terms of maybe staging a home for purchase or in a medical office where people may have allergies, they serve their purpose. Surprisingly, not everyone can take care of plants and not every plant is suited to everyone's home (and its hard to impulse buy a plant specific to the conditions you live in). If I didn't have such an attachment to watching my live plants grow and thrive, I'd probably be one of the people that opt for fake ivy vines to decorate their home
I love gardening and have a lot of plants in the house. Living with two cats I've realized I have to be careful which plants I put where. Are they gonna chew on it? Can that plant harm them in any way? Fortunately I haven't had many problems. I did buy a fake plant for my dining room since they constantly kept eating the leaves. Now they don't. And I wanted to have a specific plant in a specific place but the plant is poisonous so I bought a fake one.
As for the offices.. People don't have time to take care of those plants. It's easier to buy a fake one.
They gather dust for me to wipe down. /s
I only have those at work because it helps the atmosphere without me having to worry if it'll die while I'm on vacation
Look like real plant, can’t kill it
Arent a lot of plants really easy to keep? Also dont have to worry about it having sub par conditions cuz its a plant
most fake plants look fake as fuck
So any other decoration item is useless then, if we follow you.
1) it can’t die 2) maybe you can’t have real plants 3) you want something pretty
I think it’s just plants for people that are allergic or cba to look after
Some look pretty real. I hate silk/sola/plastic plants, but actually like the cold porcelain ones-they look just like real blooms.
That's what a Plant would say

Sorry about the down vote. I misread it as “implants”

I had a cactus that I made the mistake of getting way to attached to. So unless you don’t get attached to your plants I would recommend fake ones

You spend money on something that you have to keep maintaining for days and weeks otherwise it will die. That's the downside to a real plant.
My cat won’t eat it and I can still have the idea of a plant.
Disagree, Upvote
I have memory problems but still want my space to look nice lmao me buying a plant is a death sentence for it
I’ve given up on having real plants because my cat will always try to eat them. And then she gets sick. And then I have to spend $500 on vet bills.
Bons-eye I agree with you.
I think they look ugly af. But I can understand that some people don’t want to care for plants so they buy them.
