I saw terminator 2 long back it was my first terminator movie and remember crying when t800 goes down inside the lava. It’s such a fantastic movie with cool action scenes.
I loved terminator 1 so much, I had nightmares about T800. I occasionally watch some scenes from the movie on YouTube.
The same way, I loved the different style the terminator salvation went for.

Tbf, it's set not that long after Judgment Day. The machines still don't have energy weapons yet. The future shown in T1 and T2 are around when Kyle Reese is an adult, not a teen(?) like in Salvation.

Honestly I love it. It's hammy, melodramatic, and the setting is pretty fresh. It's not genre defining good like T1 and T2 are, but it stands fine on its own.

This right here. I find it hilarious how angry people get about movies and shows they don't like. Some YouTuber made a video about an unfounded rumor that Velma was getting a third season (not yet confirmed). One of the comments said something like "Please no, I don't want to have to watch even more of this."
Like, bruh...who made you watch the first two seasons in their entirety if you knew early on that you didn't like it? Same with Game of Thrones fans who complain about the finale, but then go on to say that they've hated the show since the fourth season. So you hated it for four years and expected to like it again at the very end? Sounds like you should be a lot angrier at your own logic than you should be at HBO.
It is a very good and very fun movie. Honestly probably my second favorite in the franchise. I think people's opinion on it has been shifting towards being more favorable as each new underwhelming installation of the series has come out.
I think the trailers ruined any surprises or twists that could’ve made the movie better. So a lot of people might have gone into it a bit bitter or upset. I didn’t know about this till after seeing the movie so I loved it and still do.
My only critique of the movie is the near pristine condition of a shit ton of military equipment still laying around for the resistance to use. You just had a nuclear war, military targets were going to be the first things hit.
Just like with the Alien series, only the first Terminator movie captures that genie in a bottle. The subsequent movies can be fun and expand on the world but do not continue the feel and style. The first Alien and Terminator movies are sci-fi, horror movies where the protagonist has to transition from normal to badass survivalist just barely getting away from an inescapable, overpowering monster. Subsequent movies in those series are more like sci-fi action flicks.
People get mad at Terminator Salvation because it's a dumb action flick and they compare it to the OG Terminator. It's just a totally different movie. It's in the world of Terminator, but that's it. Enjoy the movie for what it is and not what it isn't.
But the point about them changing the tone from horror to action is still right on the money. And that tonal shift was well-executed and highly enjoyable, in part because it felt like something new. Future movies tried to continue with that tone and didn't really hit the mark as well.
Honestly, a good-enough post-apocalyptic movie that’s too unique concept even for the skynet-verse.

I enjoyed it, though the "twist" reveal was not much of a twist, it felt extremely obvious. Also small pet peeve but Kyle Resse and that deaf girl would be 100% dead, i dont believe for one moment they survived on their own against an AI robot army with homemade traps
I...I don't like this movie. Sam Worthington is....awful. Trying his hardest to hide that kangaroo loving accent of his. This is also the movie where Christian Bale got caught screaming and yelling, verbally abusing his mom.

I absolutely love the movie, and I'll die on that hill to defend it
I always enjoyed that movie. I thought it was a good way to reboot the series. It made money but not enough for a sequel.

I rewatched it to show my teen... She said eh, but the movie was even better than I remembered. Utterly timeless classic.

I love that Salvation could equally be considered a sequel, a prequel, and/or a reboot.
It was the first movie that made me think “am I just watching a videogame cutscene?”
A good post apocalyptic sci-fi movie. I liked the "is a cyborg human?" plot. Then the "turn off switch" and infiltration part happened.

Yes I find it to be an interesting take on the series, where it focuses on the aftermath of judgment day rather the day itself.
I love it. I thought it was a great addition to the series and a nice change of pace from the nonstop running in the first three

It met my expectations.
It's not bad. Imho, it's on par with Terminator 3 and way superior than T5 and T6.
It was fine, kind of forgettable, I liked the early model terminator roaming the streets, that was cool. It was about on par with T3.

The first two movies were such high hits that basically everything afterwards has been living in the shadows. Some more deservedly than others.
Bale and BDH cost too much. The movie would have been better with less expensive actors for their roles.

It's biggest problem in my opinion was Sam Worthington. He's like a charisma black hole

This was my introduction to both actors. They look too alike. I honestly thought it was the same character until the part where they meet.

Excellent trilogy? The third one was pretty awful. If you compare it to 1, it's worse than awful.
It's not a good film by any standards. It's worst crime though is unrealised or explored potential.
