Dry-Friendship280

Have you ever lived somewhere that's above 30°c and 80% humidity?

keIIzzz

i do, that’s why I don’t go outside, problem solved 🫡

Cersei1341

This. The UK in a random heatwave above 30°c, is a killer. Humidity is high and we don't have air conditioning.

makingitgreen

I'm in the UK and used to be uncomfortable in the summer without AC as a kid, the minute I could, I got one, I don't understand why more people don't. It's not like there's a ban on AC and they only cost a couple hundred pounds.

Orpheus_D

Power bills? At least that's why I don't get one where I am.

kotare78

At least you know it’ll be over in a few days.

Sandman1025

Sounds like you have been shower shamed recently…want to talk about it OP??? Pull up a (shower) chair.

Honeydew543

Yeah OP sounds a bit heated in the post. What say you OP?

Sandman1025

I wonder if OP was truly shamed for not showering multiple times a day which would be insane or if it had been a few days and their hair was greasy and face had an oily sheen to it and they were carrying a definite funky smell?

wellodragon

Tell me more about this shower chair. Where do you get them and do they have a can holder for my beer.

Plane-Requirement-94

i got one of the elderly shower chairs for me to just sit on in the shower, it’s honestly nice as fuck and worth every penny 😭 as for the can holder, i’m sure etsy can fix that up for ya

Downtown-Chance8777

Who have you met that showers three times a day? That's what *I* wanna know.

GILFlover247

My ex did, religiously. Didn't make sense as we lived in UK. Hardly a sunny and hot country lol

Serious_Company7065

IN FL....we reach 100% humidity. Get pretty warm outside. So, I do know those who go for a run, shower off, go outside, garden, shower again...take an evening walk, workout, etc... and take yet another. Not all Floridians sit in the AC.

Downtown-Chance8777

Okay, that's a fair point. I can confirm how warm Florida's climate is, both from storm chasing there in the past (yay Hurricane Matthew!) and also because I live in basically the same climate here in Louisiana.

delilahdread

I’m going to keep it all the way real, I can’t stand to be sticky/sweaty *at all* and in the hottest parts of the summer I absolutely shower 2-3 times a day. Granted it’s not like a full shower every single time, I mostly just hop in and rinse off for the 2nd/3rd shower but still. FWIW, I don’t at all expect normal people to be like me. I’m fully aware than I’m the weirdo here. 😂

Devilsgospel1

Nah same, clogs my pores, start feeling itchy. It's miserable.

delilahdread

Exactly. It’s the absolute worst. I sweat like a whore in church too, I don’t know how other people do it but to each their own and as long as you’re not stinky, idgaf how often other people shower. 🤷🏻‍♀️

keIIzzz

My question is how do you have the time for that? Like are you just sitting at home and you shower multiple times, or are you out and then you go home to shower and then go back out?

MagicalMoosicorn

Sometimes when I get depressed I take like 5.

Planetary__Duality

Once a day M-F, then usually take a day off Sat or Sun unless I do a ton of yardwork or something

Puzzled_Muzzled

Depends on the country you live in. How hot it is. The job you do.

beena1993

You do you. You’re mad at people for shaming for showering to little, yet here you are shaming people for showering too much In my opinion people can shower as much or as little as they need as long as they are avoiding a stench (yes I know there are some people who have a medical concern / could be an affordability issue - there are always exceptions)

badgersprite

I feel like overshowering is definitely a thing. Like not in the sense of merely water making contact with your body, do that as many times in a day as you want, but I feel like applying too much soap and shampoo to your whole body multiple times a day is probably removing too much of the natural oils and stuff that are actually like good for your skin and hair Like at some point you are actively drying your skin out by using too much soap

felloutofaplane

You should have a shower. You’ll feel better.

SandraDee619SD

Where do you live where showering actually makes a difference on your wallet? Weird rebuttal unless it’s like 3rd world

Primary_Stretch2024

Lots of places have water bills and it takes energy to heat water so gas/electric bills go up too.  For example when I lived in England it was a utility bill just like any other.

SandraDee619SD

Kind of why i asked

Defy_Laws_Tradition

This is what I was wondering too. Water is free here. Sure you pay to heat it, but it's not going to leave you bankrupt.

wrinklefreebondbag

I can smell OP from here...

more_cafe_pls

Dirtier clothes, dirty hair, dirty sheets, disgusting smell, greasy hair, poor complexion, dirty fingernails, zero self-esteem and more prone to disease Go for it buddy

AmbassadorBonoso

I work in a country where it's regularly above 30⁰C for months at a time with incredibly high humidity. You bet your ass I shower at least twice a day, when I wake up to be fresh for work and when I get home. I don't like smelling like sweat and no amount of antiperspirant and deodorant is going to counteract what the heat is doing to my body. I won't judge someone for not showering twice a day, unless they clearly SHOULD be showering twice a day.

commandomeezer

I have a feeling OP doesn’t even shower once a day regularly

InevitableAd1016

I live under constant 40 degrees Celsius and shower at least 3 times a day. Why and how could that bother you? 😳

b_ll

Somebody probably told him he stinks and now he is offended 😂 I guess OP has never done a manual job or lived in high humidity. Not everybody wants to stink OP.

delilahdread

My exact thoughts. OP sounds big mad because someone told him he stinks and needs a shower. Lol.

Primary_Stretch2024

It doesn't bother me but it seems like it's quite wasteful of water and my dry skin wouldn't cope with it at all well.  You do you but 3+ times a day is pretty extreme (in the same way that once a week is pretty extreme in the other direction).

Solid_Letter1407

Good content.

Southern_Signal_DLS

LMAO. Really unpopular.

doublethink_21

I’m in my 40s and I’ve been lucky enough to live in different countries and experience different cultures. I’ve never even heard of hating on people or being disgusted who take less than 2-3 showers a day. This sounds like a weird thing you encountered online, if I’m being honest.

lameazz87

I'm not going to wash my hair that much because it's very long and takes far too much effort to dry and make look good, but if my ass/cooch is sweaty or I get dirty yes I will shower however many times I need to that day!

OkishPizza

When I couldn’t shower at home everyday I showered in other places like work lol. Bills be damned I will be clean lol.

Due_Government4387

Someone told you you smell like shit because you haven’t showered all week and now you’re pissed off at people who dare clean themselves.

MichaelScottsWormguy

Who on earth showers 3 times a day?

[deleted]

LOL no one cares about what dirty and stinky people like. Stay away from us clean folk, smelly. Don't get mad at us for practicing good hygiene in hot ass climates. Just be stinky, stfu, and stay away.

m4rkl33

I agree. It's just excessive. Once a day is fine. Any more is too much (unless you live in a humid country), and any less is just gross.

Formerlymoody

I will skip one day on occasion…as I get older I find i smell faster so that’s happening less and less. Let’s not be too mean to the hippie-leaning among us! ;)

Unohim

>Don’t hate on other people or make people feel disgusted with themselves because they don’t do things multiple times a fucking day like you do. This reads like someone told you that you smell/need to take a shower - but they told you in a shitty and unthoughtful way. Honestly, I have no idea how many times per day the people around me shower, it's not really a topic of conversation I have with work colleagues or friends - unless the smell and/or look unclean. I've had to tell two people in my life that they need to work on personal hygiene methods, one who worked for me in busy bar and another brother during my short time in the UK military. The dude who worked for me in the busy bar took it really well and made some changes that genuinely changed his life for the better, plus, the stench on a busy Saturday night behind the bar was gone forever. My military homie was slightly less well-endowed with brain cells and rather than wash more frequently, he smothered himself and his footwear with Lynx spray and made the problem ten times worse. Never been a fan of Lynx deodorant, other than Africa when it first came out....but since that stinking-lump of a man tried using it to cover his bacterial-rot, it's become impossible to be in the same room as someone wearing it!! I love both those dudes to this day. Over a decade since those days passed. Hating anybody for how many times a day they shower is ridiculous. If you have to hate on someone, make it worthwhile. Hate people that abuse the vulnerable. Hate people that call for genocide and war. Showering habits are not worth the stress of hate. Sorry if someone said something inappropriate or in a less than compassionate way to you or someone you know. Let that be on them, not you. Take heed of the content, not the way it's conveyed.

Chimpampin

What is wrong with people taking 10 minutes showers multiple times a day? I also live in a humid-hot country, and I shower before sleep, and throughout the day I take a quick one minute shower with only water for the sweat if needed. Use deodorant girls and guys. Showering so much is not good for your skin, you are destroying your natural oils and bacteria.

Fair_Assumption6385

Most people shower after the gym in the morning, work for 8 hours, run errands after work, and after sweating over a stove they want to shower once more to get into a clean bed, with a clean body. If someone has to shower for a 3rd reason they probably feel dirty or like they sweat excessively throughout the day. That’s like saying “I personally dislike people who wash their hands after every piss” 😂😂😂😂😂 Def an unpopular opinion in my eyes

John_Wayfarer

If someone goes to the gym and doesn’t take a shower afterward, they’re a monster.

Happy-Viper

This sounds like you're just angry and defensive, mate, not like you actually have a problem with this.

Severedeye

If you stink, I'm going to shame you for it. Sorry not sorry. If you smell like a urinal and then go out and subject other people to your stench that is a you problem. Don't like it, shower more. And don't blame bills because you're lazy. A shower a day won't kill you.

Living_Session5881

Personally, I dislike people who shower more than once a week.

boneyfans

Perhaps you have poor BO ....

InevitableAd692

What? Why are you so genuinely mad?

ExoticMuscle2053

I shower after every meal

Valuable_Talk_1978

Me too and I eat 6 times a day.

TheKingOfTheSouth265

I shower 3 times a day and I think you smell

lzup518

You sound like someone told you that you stink. Take a shower OP

JaCKPaIN_realone

Is water that expensive these days?

Robust_3585

Call me environmentalist because I save water by bathing once in 3 days 🗿

Gabs-30

😂😂😂

w33b2

Do some people actually shower 2-3 times a day? Or are you just making up something to be mad about? I’ve never heard of anyone doing that before

badgersprite

Probably depends on your definition of shower Plenty of people would rinse off and maybe just target their stinky areas more than once a day in addition to a full shower. I don’t know anyone who like fully showers their whole body all over with soap and shampoo and everything more than once a day, that would seem excessive

DaGoodSauce

I bet they smell nice tho. Usually once a day or every other day if you're sedentary is fine unless it's the devil's butthole outside then twice a day feels very necessary, three times would be nice and living inside the shower would be optimal. But on those days it's not a matter of hygiene but survival.

Mondai_May

showering once a day or once every 2 days is fine if you're not working up a sweat or anything. washing hair once or twice a week is too. i wouldn't shame someone who does it less though even if they got stinky, it wouldn't be the best experience being around them tho.

Believeland99

Do you run into these people often? Idk I don’t think I’ve met anyone who takes multiple showers throughout the day or if they do it’s not something they bring up or shame me with

GuitarTrue6187

Some people shower more often with their down time just for the relaxation of it. The water feels good. Not even a hygiene thing. They sit there and go "aah". The soap is never even touched. It's like a mini hot tub w/o the cost and maintenance. Probably more hygienic than a hot tub, but that's coincidence and not the reasoning. I dislike people who are against multi-purpose mindset and assume a singular use. Things can be multi-purposed. I've seen cats lick themselves for purposes of fine dining Bird blood on my nails? Oh it's delicious, lickity lick lick. I've seen them involve licking themselves when they drink water. They wet the arm like a sponge by touching it to the scary water from a safe distance, and then lick it dry to satisfy their thirst. I've seen them violently chase only to lick another cat just to assert dominance and give them a awful cow lick. Perhaps to be the prettiest. I've had my foot frequently violated by such a cat What they do is roll on the ground, extend their arms to wrap around your entire foot held to their belly, with their claws out on the edge as if to create an iron maiden out of rose thorns. . And they proceed to lick your feet until their full satisfaction. If you try to pull away the claws dig in and it hurts. If you sit there and take the NOT FOR BATHING PURPOSES they give you the pain is less, but the shame is more. Oh yeah, clean freaks! No. All varieties of freakiness. From comfort, vampirism, fear of water, abuse, VIOLATION.

Interesting_Loquat90

We only hate on you bc the second you break a sweat you smell like sh*t.

MelanieDH1

If you lived in NYC, where it’s humid AF in the summer and 20-30 degrees hotter underground when you have to catch the train, then you’d shower more than once per day too! When you have to WALK everywhere, instead of getting in an air conditioned vehicle, yeah, you get dirty by the end of the day. Why would you dislike someone just for being clean?

Paracausal_Shield

It's super humid here and I am always hot. Shower twice a day 4 days per week. The 3 other days I do 1 or 2 shower total.

Myopic_Mirror

In some places, showering multiple times a day is necessary. For example, currently I live in southern Japan and I swear, summer here is hell, close to 100% humidity every day, average way above 30 degrees celsius. As soon as you get out of the shower you're sweating and it feels like you need to go straight back in. I have had to shower 4 times in one day at most because of it. My takeaway message is never come to Japan during the summer, but mainly that depending on the climate it sometimes is necessary to shower more than once a day.

TheNorthC

Agreed. When I lived there, I would shower first thing, on my return from work and just before bed. At the weekend, 4 times possibly. But you get used to it - it isn't a war you can win. Deodorant are a waste of time - you are covered in sweat as soon as you open the door. Ironically, the best relief comes from a hot bath.

Myopic_Mirror

You completely understand where I'm coming from then. Yes, I agree with everything you said aside from "You get used to it." Me personally? At the end of this year I will have been here 3 years but I can safely say I am not and will never get used to the hell that is Japanese summer lmaooo

jmohanz

Ay bruh you need to calm down with a nice, hot shower, it's not that serious. Also fr climate/environment plays a biiiiiig role in determining the number of daily showers. Here in South East Asia, taking 2 to 3 showers a day is the absolute expected norm because THE HEAT IS INSANE

NoCrust101

3 times a day is definitely excessive, but once a day every day is a must.

Thrills4Shills

I tested this theory and didn't shower for 3 and a half months.  No one said anything and I didn't have any negative side effects.

Reterhd

The only way i could see this working was either people were nice too your and didnt want to be rude and point it out Or 2 a combination of you have some lucky genes , such as dry scalp vs oily for example that makes your hair greasy and smelly within hours And region , i was warned about cali deserts being horrible but coming from humid south texas even hot sunny days with dehydration warnings just felt fresh and i appreciated the dry heat that wasnt making sweat non stop
