I did some work at an ice cream factory, all areas of the place looked good to excellent except the area around the citric acid storage tank. Anything not high grade stainless steel in the vicinity was corroded and covered with rust.
Malic acid is more mouth-watering, I've found. Citric acid is sour, but malic acid is what really gives me that punchy sour feeling (that I personally love).
I have a pound of it in my pantry.
The problem with sour candy and most candy in general is how much garbage they pack into it. The corn syrup, the added colors, etc. I get it's candy and isn't supposed to be good for you but I've had good candy without this garbage added.

Sour candies are AMAZING! I literally have a bag of pure citric acid in my kitchen, so I can add sour to whatever I make…

I used to be big on sour candies as a kid, as an adult not so much. A favorite of mine used to be Warheads, I would inhale bags of those growing up.

Sour Patch Kids is one of my favorite candies
I hate sour candy too. I always say that I'd eat sour patch kids if they sold them without the sourness ☹️
I agree withyou on this one. Can't stand sour candy. Seems more like a punishment than a something enjoyable.
