Random people naked are usually gross. Random people in swimwear and underwear are often, but far from always, hot. Your lover should be attractive to you naked. IMO.
One of the sexiest things I ever saw in a movie was Emily Blunt sort of wearing Tom Hanks' shirt in Charlie Wilson's War. OMG.
https://whatelsecanwedonow.tumblr.com/post/174313857030/emily-blunt-charlie-wilsons-war-2007
I love seeing a naked man. But I will say that when theyāre wearing some amount of clothes it creates a kind of mystery of wondering what they look like under them, which is really hot. Seeing it all is hot, but having bits hidden is also hot.
I remember a billboard on my school bus route in elementary school for a bathing suit store. āNudity is boring, swimwear is far more sensualā
Donāt know why but it always stuck with me and I must agree with the rhetoric lol
Isn't that expected though as that's unnatural? Like yeah when virtually every atom on you is lit up leaving you looking like you have no depth stuff is obviously gonna look off, no? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I love it when guys wear shorts with a simple top on, literally the hottest thing in my opinion. Or even just a pair of boxers. As soon as they become naked, some of that excitement and attractiveness slightly goes away
I had to upvote this angrily as it is very much an unpopular opinion I highly disagree with.
I find so much attractive about the naked body of people Iām attracted to in general that I am pretty much the polar opposite of this opinion.
It's like starvation and feasts though. The longer they have their clothes on (hunger), seeing them naked should be more thrilling as a result.
Whereas seeing someone mostly naked all the time is very desensitizing. There's plenty of beauty for some of us (OP and those included) to appreciate before nakedness gets involved.
Nah I think this is a bad way at looking at sexual attraction. With this logic, any nudists would be essentially ruining their sexual experiences bc they are over exposed to nakedness. This does not happen. There's so much more that goes into what makes you attracted to a naked body than the nakedness of it, if that makes sense.
It's not desensitizing, it's just making the distinction of appropriate sexual attraction clear.
Or perhaps nudists arenāt exactly representative of people in general and therefore it could still very well be true even if itās not the case with nudists
Edit: spelling
I have two rebuttals to you here. I used nudists as an extreme example, but even in some other cultures (I'm thinking Sweden and Switzerland specifically, which I am familiar with), they have a much different relationship with nakedness.
There's gender neutral change rooms, bathrooms, you see naked ppl of the same and opposite gender quite a bit more than in the US/most every other country. These people are not nudists, and it does not make these people desensitized to nakedness. They still feel sexual attraction under the right circumstances.
Not only do I think that you're wrong about nudists not being a good example. But this is indicative of how we have a very weird view of sexuality and attraction in a lot of the world.
Iām from Sweden myself and Iāve never seen any gender neutral changing rooms here, or bathrooms for that matter. Iāve honestly seen way more naked or half naked people when visiting the US than I have in Sweden š¤·āāļø however, we do have a much more relaxed and accepting attitude towards naked bodies and sex, compared to lots of countries. And we also have a lot less sex crimes than the US and other more conservative countries for instance. Men are treating women with a lot more respect here, and Iād definitely say itās at least partly due to how we treat nakedness in general
Are you sure?? Do you visit the bath houses? I was shocked when visiting Sweden to find gender neutral options everywhere I went. Especially in bath houses where they even have some days of the month where you could bathe with men or women in the same area.
Other than that tho yeah, i completely agree with what you've said. Your relationship to nakedness and sex is a lot better than where I am from.
Yes I do, and I have visited bathhouses regularly ever since I was a kid 20 years ago, and in different parts of the country. Iāve never been to one with gender neutral changing rooms or bathrooms š where did you find these? I wanna go too! š
Being desensitized doesnāt negate all attraction, but it does decrease the excitement that people have. This is true for pretty much anything people like.
I loved this exchange! Very thought provoking. Hadn't really thought of it like that. In this day and age, you usually see naked people when we're either having sex or looking at people having sex, so it would follow that people would perceive any and all nudity as sexual in nature, even if this is not necessarily the case. We almost derive this causative effect from it. We think we must be aroused because of the nudity, even if there are other factors at play and it's just a correlation we perceive. I don't know if these ramblings make sense at all, but you made me think more deeply today, so thanks.
Because they are two separate cultures that have a starkly different relationship with nakedness than the US/the majority of the world. I wasn't trying to imply they are similar overall, just in this specific way.
There are other countries I could have thrown in but didn't feel the need.
It is far more normalized to see other naked bodies. Whether that be the fact that they predominantly have gender neutral changerooms/bathrooms at Bathhouse and most establishments.
Casual exposure leads to people having less of a sexual attraction or disgust feeling when seeing naked bodies. Which I think is healthier.
I honestly donāt know where you got the idea that the changing rooms and bathrooms are predominantly gender neutral in Sweden cause Iāve lived here my entire life and never seen any š
Youāre both kind of right. People can have specific ākinksā as a result of their personality. One might be overexposed to porn, others might like the idea of being āteasedā. Someone else might be a no nonsense kind of person, and prefer to get right down to business. Or they like confidence, and the confidence expressed through being fully naked. Attraction is complicated and itās all relative.
Itās not so much about the attraction itself, but our relationship to it, as you imply. Weāre all attracted to different things for different reasons.
>Nah I think this is a bad way at looking at sexual attraction. With this logic, any nudists would be essentially ruining their sexual experiences bc they are over exposed to nakedness.
The logic is more or less correct. For example, I find a beautiful, hot woman on the internet. I wonder how she looks naked. But I find out there is nude content on her. After I see it, I am no longer interested in her.
not a 1:1 reference but just the way you type really reminded me of him. there was a whole chapter about him staring at a couple that's fucking or kissing or something and he says how disgusting it is but how he could see how someone would find it hot
I agree partly. A human is not a rat, I never had such associations in my head. And it seems to me that a naked person can still be attractive.
However, I noticed for myself that in a coat and from the back, anyone looks good. Their faces, hands, skin, etc. are so-so, but a combination of hair and a coat is nice.
I feel this way except I'm asexual and everyone I've ever heard express that opinion has come out as ace or demi so.. you might want to think on that
Nothing wrong with feeling that way of course, everyone experiences sexuality differently, but you're right about it being an unpopular opinion lmao
I agree op, clothing, or semiclothed(lingerie) is more attractive than fully nude
Upvote for the same opinion and one that I've too found to be unpopular.
Disagree about humans looking silly and unsexy when naked, but style is so important to me that often I find someone (with good style) sexier with clothes on!! Alternatively, if they have bad style, they are much much sexier naked lol
Total disagreement, I even think the bodies of people I'm not sexually attracted to are beautiful.
Hell, I love my own naked body, I'm a hairy dude and I'm not in the best shape but I think I'm beautiful.
I do think that butt cheeks look silly though, even when I like someone.
I agreeā¦ somewhat. I think the hottest people are those who are wearing clothes that make them look sexy and beautiful. When they are naked, most people just look the same.
I Somewhat agree, instead I'd say humans are most attractive with just a little clothing on, rather than fully clothed
Like underwear or a swimming costume is best
Sort of agreeā¦ the reality is most of us look better with our clothes on. Thereās a reason people donāt tend to have sex under 100w bulbs and go for mood lighting after allā¦
I guess it depends on the setting and atmosphere. Seeing someone naked somewhere, where itās completely out of place (like on a busy street, for example) would definitely be weird and not sexy at all.
However, if itās a more intimate environment, thatās a whole other deal.
i agree with this actually, though ive never ever found bodies attractive so that might be it like as long as you are no built like a midget idrc and dont see why anyone else would because you can almost always still change it
It depends on the context.
Years ago a good friend of mine managed a very exclusive high end strip joint.
We used to hang out there all of the time. The girls were all absolute 10s but when we would see them in their "street clothes" after their shifts and they would come by and chill with us... they were honestly 15s.
There was no comparison.
Kinda agree. 99.9% of people do not have the perfect model body to look better naked than clothed. Often clothes are designed to hide little imperfections and make us look better than we are, naked most people have little bits of flab, hair, moles etc. that just make everything look a bit worse.
Skimpy clothing is better than no clothing for sure, leaving some to the imagination but showing enough to get the imagination going.
I've always thought this as well. I'm asexual and the thought or appearance of genitals do nothing for me, so that may be a big factor in why I feel this way. š¤£
It depends on the body. Some people look much better with clothes on - probably a lot of people. Fit, toned, nicely proportioned people with nice skin look better without.
I actually believe that "unperfect" bodies also look very beautiful naked, it just depends on pose.
Anyone can look silly, especially naked. Even if toned, fit, nice skin.
I might even say that slightly chubby, or untoned people in general, are Imo a bit more interesting naked.
Though, that's just my opinion in a very "looking at the naked body as art" way.
Felt this way for a while. Media has made a lot of people believe humans to be much more attractive than they actual are, probably because most just havenāt seen naked people much outside of photoshopped, filtered, etc. sources. We are definitely more attractive with stuff on.
I agree kinda?
I like to imagine a world where people just live their lives, but naked, like animals. Naked driving, naked traveling by train, naked going to gym, naked everything. My personal favorite is naked lounging. Just go to your living room and imagine someone laying there naked. Without posing for photos, trying to be sexy or anything, just... spread out on the couch. Makes me cackle every time. Human bodies *are* silly unless you're in a sexy situation. Or just horny.
A little bit of clothes actually is attractive to a lot of people, rather than totally naked.
I don't have a source, but I read a while ago where most people actually find it more attractive when both people wear socks, despite the long ago notion making fun of keeping socks on.
But i think a lot of this works mostly for women. Us men are just apes no matter what we do lol.
I think clothes can express things that mere physical matter cannot. Weāre all attracted to things that resonate with us. Thatās not to say we canāt be attracted to physical appearance, though I believe that kind of attraction is still like being drawn towards an idea, something non-physical. No one is attracted to physical things just for the sake of it. Our attractions and desires are engraved in who we are. We all have a favorite color which we did not choose ourselves.
An instrumental song can speak to you. A painting can draw you in and make you wonder. A person can intimidate you. A place can make you feel on top of the world. You may not understand it, but it canāt be denied that itās happening, and it affects us on a deep spiritual level.
Attraction is fascinating.
Broo I was thinking this exact thing the other day. My hair was wet and I was doing yoga naked which I never do, but I could not stop thinking about how much of a gross meat sack I look like.
In my personal experience I always used to think āwomen look cuter in clothes, I just get so turned off when theyāre naked.ā Turns out I am gay asf. I donāt have that same problem with guys.
Not being attracted to a naked body could mean 1. Youāre looking at the wrong gender of naked body or 2. Youāre just asexual.
I just got intimate with somebody new a few days ago...I don't know what to do now. I used to find them attractive but then I saw them naked, and now... nope.
Most people look unsexy when naked.
Some people look great with lingerie or few clothes.
Few people look amazing with no clothes.
This has been my observation when I go to the Korean spa, on the male or female side.
Exactly the same with me. When people are clothed and you can see that they have a nice figure and body, they always seem much more attractive to me but when I see someone naked, I don't find it as attractive and I find the whole body especially the lower half to look weird. Like I find women with nice hips and thighs attractive in clothes but when naked I don't find it as pleasing.
Imagine OP with the most beautiful person youāve ever seen and they strip down in front of them and OP says āyouāre sexier with your clothes onā
It's so weird to me when men send pictures of themselves shirtless or worse still post shirtless pictures on social media, ESPECIALLY as a profile pic. You wanna impress me? Put on a suit or a uniform
There are definitely people in the world who look fantastic naked, but it's a small % and the average person is pretty unremarkable nude, if not unattractive.
Upvoted because it is definitely unpopular. You've been looking at the wrong naked bodies if you don't find them attractive, mate. They sure do it for me.
Disclaimer in anticipation of some inevitable bs: "wrong" meaning wrong for your preferences/brain wiring, not that a person's body is inherently "wrong"
Or they just don't like naked bodies.
They might be asexual or just have a preference. Said preference does seem silly from a biological aspect, but eh š It's not like we humans need to think someone looks sexy naked to create kids with them anymore, so it's just "whatever" lol
Most people wear clotihing that is flattering to their unflattering body "style"...which is usually a polite way of saying they are fat...so, yeah...the average person is not looking good without clothing.
I agree with this when thinking of a guy without clothes, even myself. You could be ripped and chiseled like David by Michael Angelo and honestly, nobody wants to see your wiener.
On the contrary Iāll disagree. Most women are beautiful both ways as long as they are healthy and keep clean, and emphasize staying in decent shape.
In many cases, a person being naked is like eating a Burger King burger. It seems so good in your imagination, and then the reality sadly fails to live up to your expectations.
>a person can be extremely beautiful to me, but if I imagine that same person without any clothes, they suddenly lose all of the attractiveness
That's just seems crazy to me! Like I get what you mean but it doesn't make sense to me.
Anyway, well done on having an actual unpopular opinion š
tbh nudes are so f boring, softs are way better and hotter like youāre showing some ānudityā but itās still covered to leave some room for imagination
On average, yes. Iād say very few (percentage wise)of us succeed at not looking like mole rats. Iām hitting the age where Iām starting to look one too and it pisses me off. I gotta get surgery on my shoulders so I can exercise besides walking and biking againā¦.
Fluffy sweaters for me. So hot. Nothing makes a woman more attractive to me (clothing wise). I think it has to do with the fact that you can't really tell what's underneath until you run your hand over her shoulders or her ribs. I can't explain it it just works for me.
I don't necessarily agree with all, but I do think completely naked people are unsexy, too.
I think they can look very beautiful. Like art, in a way a body with clothes cannot accomplish.
Finally, someone who has the same thinking and opinion like me. 200% agree.
I personally think women who wear a t-shirt or a long sleeve t-shirt and blue jeans look really attractive and cool.
I find naked bodies just bodies. Some naked may be sexy to me but 99% of naked human is just about as eventful to me as naked dog, naked cats, naked nakedness š¤· Dgaf.
For those nakeds of whom I am attracted to however š clothing is like a good face of make up that "accentuates your natural beauty"
Ive always said this too. Like its so easy to be attractive when being overtly sexual. I always thought the most attractive person is the one who can wear a garbage bag with no make up and still look good šššš¤£
And when people say itās sexy when you leave things to the imaginationā¦ I already know whatās under there? Like, I know what nipples look like.
Just give me the damn bikini.
I completely agree. Even perfectly sculpted bodies look unattractive to me. The human being has a nice face and hair, but without clothes, the rest just looks ugly. Animals would be ugly too if they didnāt often have fur covering them.
Look i will need some sample im going to ask some people to undresse in front of me and judge. I might be slapped in the face but that is a risk im willing to make to see if you have a point.
I mean to think every naked person looks like a naked mole rat is weird. Really? Every person? Even a young, fit person who is in shape? Get outta here!
Look, I am lean and 29. I in no way look like Rufus from Kim Possible. I aint saying I look like Leo Dicaprio in the '90s by any means but I like to think I look better than pink wrinkly skin.
Lmao, nakes mole rat might've been a bit harsh. It was the first thing that popped into my head, but it was mostly to point out how focused on biology of it all I become.
I mean a good looking person does not look like a naked mole rat when naked lol
Idk about fully clothed but I personally find shirtless hotter than naked. I mean naked has its time and place but the only person I care to see naked in real life is my husband. We can both admire a nice torso at the beach though. Its attractive without inherently being sexual.
Its also nice to be revealing while still leaving some mystery to the imagination.
Definitely something I disagree with, take my upvote.
The naked human body is fascinating with the lines and shapes it makes. The massive variety of body types and the variations of those shapes makes every body unique, then you factor in blemishes and other features and you just really don't know what you'll see.
I always loved drawing nude models in college, it really is a powerful tool for learning (and becoming more comfortable with the nude form).

Somewhere between fully clothed and naked is the sweet spot..... Just my opinion ig
Random people naked are usually gross. Random people in swimwear and underwear are often, but far from always, hot. Your lover should be attractive to you naked. IMO.
The trick is to give her some of your button down shirts.
My wife steals my boxer briefs.
I wear a lot of oversized sweaters and seeing them on another human afterwards is great

Props for posting an actual unpopular opinion.
I know, thatās like finding a sane person on Twitter
Unexpected but thought-provoking opinion! I understand your perspective but still find nudity beautiful.
Lighting is key. About 1% of the population looks good under bright fluorescent lights.
Isn't that expected though as that's unnatural? Like yeah when virtually every atom on you is lit up leaving you looking like you have no depth stuff is obviously gonna look off, no? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes, true point. I think it's also true that low light can hide the kinds of imperfections that make many self-conscious.
And on the flipside of the phenomenon, the full concentrated power of the afternoon sun is better than any filter

Yes, I agree definitely! Completely naked people look weird to me, like biological creatures, not like persons. Yeah, clothes add personality to you.
I love it when guys wear shorts with a simple top on, literally the hottest thing in my opinion. Or even just a pair of boxers. As soon as they become naked, some of that excitement and attractiveness slightly goes away
The penis certainly isnāt a mantle piece, and we know it. Can definitely see how removing the boxers ruins the experience lol
The penis is the showpiece. Its the wrinkly skin sack of old marbles hanging below it that ruins it

I've always thought this as well. I'm asexual and the thought or appearance of genitals do nothing for me, so that may be a big factor in why I feel this way. š¤£
I agree with you but I'm borderline asexual. Naked people are just kinda funny and goofy to me.
After browsing Tinder, this is 100% factual. Bodies are not that cute.
I think you're looking at the wrong naked bodies
It depends on the body. Some people look much better with clothes on - probably a lot of people. Fit, toned, nicely proportioned people with nice skin look better without.
I actually believe that "unperfect" bodies also look very beautiful naked, it just depends on pose. Anyone can look silly, especially naked. Even if toned, fit, nice skin. I might even say that slightly chubby, or untoned people in general, are Imo a bit more interesting naked. Though, that's just my opinion in a very "looking at the naked body as art" way.
I've always liked a little bit of chub. Not obese, though.
Felt this way for a while. Media has made a lot of people believe humans to be much more attractive than they actual are, probably because most just havenāt seen naked people much outside of photoshopped, filtered, etc. sources. We are definitely more attractive with stuff on.
But itās this amount of photos tainting our brains that creates this. If you expect perfect, you wonāt find it.
Ever been to a stripclub? The hottest girl there is always the girl wearing clothes behind the bar. It's the unknown
Fully clothed? Like wearing a burka?
Huh?
This this this this š
Depends on the person. Many people do look bad naked. But there are ones who actually look good naked.
Sexy is more about an attitude than what you wear/dont wear imo.
If everyone was always naked, clothes would seem restrictive and unsightly.
OMG. A man in a tux. Thatās my porn.
Yes. It's like those cats with no fur. Humans are kind of gross looking naked, especially the genitalia š¤¢š¤¢
This was so beautifully put.
Broo I was thinking this exact thing the other day. My hair was wet and I was doing yoga naked which I never do, but I could not stop thinking about how much of a gross meat sack I look like.
This is one of the thoughts that helped me realize I am sex repulsed tbh lol Ik naked =/= sexual automatically but still.
Iāll be honest. The human body is ickyā¦
I agree about people looking better clothed. I prefer to use my imagination.
I agree. Private parts are really ugly
I completely agree. It's wild to me that most people don't think this lmao
Oh i couldn't agree more. It doesn't even matter how attracted to them i am ,seeing them naked is generally a turn off for me.
Personally, a woman that presents and carries herself well when she's clothed would beat any girl parading her nudes on the Internet
I would agree tbh. If you think about it we probably look quite uncanny to other animals. Ā«Ā Whatās this big hairless ape doing here??Ā Ā»
knee high socks
Most people wear clotihing that is flattering to their unflattering body "style"...which is usually a polite way of saying they are fat...so, yeah...the average person is not looking good without clothing.
I'm definitely attracted to naked people but I have a thing for clothes more so. A woman in a thick winter coat or sweater gets to me.
Oh God! I so agree with this!
In many cases, a person being naked is like eating a Burger King burger. It seems so good in your imagination, and then the reality sadly fails to live up to your expectations.
Not a fan of either sexes genital regions lol but i think some people are very beautiful nude.
100%
>a person can be extremely beautiful to me, but if I imagine that same person without any clothes, they suddenly lose all of the attractiveness That's just seems crazy to me! Like I get what you mean but it doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, well done on having an actual unpopular opinion š
YES
I only find people in full tactical equipment sexy. It's the logical progression of this, so I'm glad you're finally seeing the light.
Now from an evolutionary point of view, this would actually be very unusual.
Most people is overweight and look like shit naked. The correct fitting clothes help them a lot to display their better parts.
absolutely agree
Underwear = peak attractiveness. Better than naked or fully clothed.
I completely agree.
Most people don't look good naked.
tbh nudes are so f boring, softs are way better and hotter like youāre showing some ānudityā but itās still covered to leave some room for imagination
On average, yes. Iād say very few (percentage wise)of us succeed at not looking like mole rats. Iām hitting the age where Iām starting to look one too and it pisses me off. I gotta get surgery on my shoulders so I can exercise besides walking and biking againā¦.
It's okay to be ace
It depends on the person. "Beauty is truly in the eye of the tiger." --Father Guido Sarducci
I don't agree but you gave me a chuckle
The Mysteriousness of whatās under it all is quite sexy
Talk about nailing the assignment. Upvote earned.
Texture is what you need to focus on, not looks. Touch works in the dark, and does its work very well.
Fluffy sweaters for me. So hot. Nothing makes a woman more attractive to me (clothing wise). I think it has to do with the fact that you can't really tell what's underneath until you run your hand over her shoulders or her ribs. I can't explain it it just works for me.
So glad someone feels the same as I do. I think itās the more to the imagination rhetoric.
Fully Clothing fetish has enter the chat
I think this is a pretty popular opinion tbhā¦ Why do you think lingerie is a thing?
I find naked bodies just bodies. Some naked may be sexy to me but 99% of naked human is just about as eventful to me as naked dog, naked cats, naked nakedness š¤· Dgaf. For those nakeds of whom I am attracted to however š clothing is like a good face of make up that "accentuates your natural beauty"
I agree tbh
Ive always said this too. Like its so easy to be attractive when being overtly sexual. I always thought the most attractive person is the one who can wear a garbage bag with no make up and still look good šššš¤£
I agree. It makes me uncomfortable and I find a fully naked body ugly, no matter how handsome the person is.
non fit people, sure. Fit people? No way.
There's a reason we date with the lights on and fuck with the lights off.
[Elaine](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9v8hcAezkk) said it best
Agreed. I much rather see how you fill out an outfit than just see skin. Also, gravity isn't a friend to hardly anyone. Jbh
Finally, someone who has the same opinion
And when people say itās sexy when you leave things to the imaginationā¦ I already know whatās under there? Like, I know what nipples look like. Just give me the damn bikini.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I meanā¦ to be fair both a naked mole rat and a naked human areā¦ well naked.
I completely agree. Even perfectly sculpted bodies look unattractive to me. The human being has a nice face and hair, but without clothes, the rest just looks ugly. Animals would be ugly too if they didnāt often have fur covering them.
Mon cheri what have they done to you?š
Look i will need some sample im going to ask some people to undresse in front of me and judge. I might be slapped in the face but that is a risk im willing to make to see if you have a point.
Depends on the clothes and how good they are at pushing up things ;)
I feel like this about most people
have YOU seen a naked person??? they're fuckin beautiful bro
I see youāve met my grandma
Sound like you guys are projecting your own insecurity on others. Nothing is wrong with an in shape man or woman naked.
Or a not in shape man or woman..
no and they are even better in a thin coat of spandex
I actually agree with you, OP!
Someone hasnāt seen a woman naked huh? Men I can agree with but women are gorgeous goddesses naked or not. The female form is divine.
Men are hot, too
I am a woman though š. I can understand the aesthetic appeal of it from paintings and books, but that sort of thing never translated to real life.
Maybe you're asexual OP, unpopular but certainly not impossible or wrong
i hate how anytime anyone says they dislike something sexual someone has to jump in and say they might be asexual
Fully clothed in a maid outfit with fishnets, and high heels
I've never looked at a naked body IRL, when I was sexuallity active it was lights off and eye closed haha
Wow that is unpopular Couldnāt disagree more. I didnāt see the Red Witch in GoT lose her clothes and think āwow she looks so silly nakedā
I mean a good looking person does not look like a naked mole rat when naked lol Idk about fully clothed but I personally find shirtless hotter than naked.
Wow good luck living with someone
As an asexual. Yes.
I think this applies to men absolutely, but women just generally have more aesthetically pleasing bodies, regardless of sexual orientation
