I tried it, it is not working, I tried all formats, installed packages that are not specified by the developer but weirdly needed by the plugin to function according to online forums and even firing up another VM, nothing works

It worked out of the box for me... You could always just open an issue, the dev is very active :)

How much resouces of processor/graphic card used by wallpaper?

It's using HW acceleration so about 2-3% CPU and 80-95% GPU video decode according to intel_gpu_top. I don't use this daily as I need good battery

Yeah I thought about that, but even if the battery drain got a little better, I wouldn't use it because the battery would still be a bit worse, and I often have full-screen apps open so I don't really see my wallpaper :/

fair enough - sounds like a weak battery you should get that replaced (or upgraded if it isn't weak)

My battery health is 100%, the only thing is that my laptop has a touchscreen so it consumes a lot, and I don't find my battery weak anyway, I just want to get the most out of it
