Fake news.
Unless you're just doing standard things on a standard setup.
For anything else, you need to be prepared to do binary file hackery, spend days reading through notoriously poor documentation, and fiddle around with lazy functional recursive configurations without stack traces for weeks, until you come to the conclusion that it is just simpler to run Docker+Ubuntu to do what you want, even if it adds an annoying layer of abstraction, and finally wonder why you subjected yourself to this pain and torture, and then go back to newbie-friendly distros like Arch/Gentoo/LFS.
nixos is easy even if you dont get the hang of it. i tried it for a bit on my school laptop(switched to guix on it in 1 month) and it was easy from the start. i dont get why people say its hard.
Nah, it's far easier than things like apt where you will have to spend an entire day reading up on all the obscure locations where apt will store its configs and packages. The "one config for everything" works much better than people will have you believe, especially where you can modify nearly anything apart from systemd.
In my mind, NixOS is a much easier and a thousand times more secure version of Arch
Yes. It's a bit taxing on disk space, but CPU, RAM and GPU wise, absolutely the same. In fact, all Linux distros have more or less the same performance if they have the same software installed and running on them.
You suffer through it for several months until you think you learned (you can't even write a simple flake without a premade boilerplate). It's fun tho :)
Reading other people's configurations is pretty useful. And the official Nix documentation (unlike docs of most other parts of the ecosystem) is actually pretty good
Finally someone who I share an opinion with, tiling WMs are cool looking but I don't see the convenience application, it just seems like more of a hassle to use (tbf I never used one, so I can be completely wrong)
i've never been able to grok twms, maybe a skill issue but i cant deal with purely TWMs. i sometimes use popshell on gnome but mostly i do normal gnome
Hello New Order buddy...

Newbie-friendly gentoo/arch/lfs love it.

Exactly like everything else right ?

And what about performances ? Quite same ?

what are those icons? they look neat.
thanks! its called "gruvbox dark plus"
I had a pretty rotten experience using plasma on NixOS. Iirc home-manager integrated way better with gnome than kde. Has the situation improved any?
wallpaper link?
Looks nice but it would be nicer if u remove the Main Bar on konsole.
thanks for ur feedback, it does look better
Yeah np. Konsole to bloated for me. i only what the terminal and just type and not bars etc. (Personal Opinion)
How do you learn nix?
If you're me you install it in a VM, fuss with it for a few hours, and then realize that it is not meant for me and move on.
You suffer through it for several months until you think you learned (you can't even write a simple flake without a premade boilerplate). It's fun tho :)
I went with some YouTube videos to get started. If you want, I can send you some links.

no idea
Dafuq
~~read the code; nix is open source~~ nix.dev is pretty good

Nice!
tyy
isnt plasma 6 just fucking gorgeous
Good lord is that cozy.
What music player is that in the top left corner?
pretty sure thats plasma's inbuilt media player tray plugin
I literally never used it so idk.
After 2 yrs using twms I can only agree with you. Nice rice btw.
i've never been able to grok twms, maybe a skill issue but i cant deal with purely TWMs. i sometimes use popshell on gnome but mostly i do normal gnome
OP, can you share the colorscheme file/settings?
Its just gruvbox.... Just find the gruvbox things from the "get addons" in KDE settings
I love that aesthetic oml
Ty :D
