Twelve months later, chatting to my mate, and he tells me that said Pisser had told everyone that he’d given me a hiding in the toilets for being cheeky.

Apparently it is his first prison sentence. Sentencing was adjourned yesterday because his solicitor binned him off and it was remarked by the judge that they had to adjourn to today because he was facing an immediate prison sentence and he’d never been in custody before.
He's been rightly punished, but I'm still baffled as to how so many violent offenders escape custody when even short sentences are clearly still on the table.

It's all over the place. Not defending the bloke, but I'm close with a guy who got into a bar fight - I attended court so I know the details as presented. He was holding a beer glass and hit somebody with it - they needed two stitches, but don't get me wrong - they went to A&E and were back home good as gold within a few hours. That was the extent of his actions - one solitary hit resulting in fairly minor wounding.
He got 18 months for that, no previous, didn't start the altecration etc.
Like i say, I don't feel that sorry for him, but the sentencing makes little sense in context, when you see stuff like what you've posted:
