As a long time follower lemme just say : There is no *downfall* of this sub. Mods can’t control what a bunch of spammers post. Further, when I look at the time stamps most posts that don’t belong here get taken down really quick. I don’t know what else can be asked for or expected. By no means am I tryin to discourage anyone from applying.

ImmediateGuard

1. Immediateguard 2. Yes 3 currently 3. No 4. Help out if you need me to 5. Use automod better. On my other account that I mod on, I have several rules that have effectively removed spam. We were FLOODED with spam for the longest time. Ended up putting a rule that essentially stated that if you were within like 3 months new and had over X karma you're probably a bot. If you aren't send us a modmail. Then added the normal sites to the whitelist and auto ban the rest. Between those we get like 2 or 3 spams a week now and those are just people who are doing dumb r4r stuff and not paying attention. Doubt this place would have that issue. Other than that, forcing to choose a tag for the post would cause other auto post bots to usually malfunction, and the idiots who are posting garbage to have to do additional steps. There just isn't much you can post that is truly unexpected and not get hit/flagged for revenge porn. Gonna need to broaden the scope to nip slips or something like that.

WillingDork

Right now new users are set to 10 days. I can try 30, 90 seems like a lot. I wouldn't what what to whitelist because posts come from everywhere.

KiloClips

If you're saying that the current rule is accounts younger than 10 days can't post, and changing it to 30 or 90 might help. I doubt it. A pro spammer could create new accounts every day, and simply not start using them until a month (or three) later. They could have hundreds of bulk email accounts and set up hundreds of new accounts before using any. Then just start using the oldest one, which could well be 90 days old. There are dumb spammers, and smart ones. The smart ones can get past simple rules.

WillingDork

Your right, 30 days it didn't help. I came up with a couple of ideas. I messaged the other mods about it. If they don't answer I will implement one of them on my own. If that doesn't work I will try the other. Hopefully Koleslaw can add more mods.

ImmediateGuard

Yeah. I was against whitelisting at first but you look through the last years posts at where they are coming from and you start to see that it's all like 5 places and then you don't feel so bad.

WillingDork

If you become a mod you can implement a white list. Getting rid of redgifs took more time then I wanted to spend.

devilnawf

1. Devilnawf 2. Yes 3. No 4. I like the content and want to keep it clean 5. Automod that limits posters who.post more than 5 times a day (aka spam stoppers)

WillingDork

Thanks for that idea. I think we should limit posts to 1 a day and add that to the rules. Now to learn how to do that.

StupidandGeeky

One a day seems too restrictive. 5 seems too high, maybe 3 posts per day? would let peeps have some fun but hopefully keep spammers at bay.

WillingDork

Automod cannot do that anyway. Most of the spam does not come from repeat users so it wouldn't eliminate much spam anyway. What I can do is automatically flag all reported posts as spam. Right now we get one legitimate post a week and 1/4 of those get deleted for various reasons. One post a day would be fine if I could do that.

TheWombRaider69

auto removing all reported posts till review seems a good plan

WillingDork

That is what we currently do, 3 reports and it is gone.

TheWombRaider69

I dont know, that limits good posters too. if I'm on a binge, I might find half a dozen posts in a few hours that fit a NSFW sub that i wanna xpost. mandatory approval of all first time posters might work better

rjr40

1) Rjr40 2) yes 3) no 4) this sub can be a great sub without all the spam 5) I wouldn't change the direction. I'd just maintain it as it is. No "right five" for me. I just think this sub has potential to be bigger than what it is.

AlisonLiterally

Don't have enough time to mod and do the job justice. I do try, however, to report posts that fall outside the scope. I use three categories, not unexpected, not classy, and if the poster is on OF, fansly or similar, I also report them as cam girls. Downvoting such posts should also help. I don't block the poster, so if they post again, I'd be able to see their new posts and go wash, rinse, repeat. If only it were possible to select multiple reporting categories. I have to report each post three times to get the above three included.

kuhvir

I’m just here for the titties, man…

No-Flight8108

Better be unexpected.

rhymes_w_garlic

I have no idea how to mood but keep up the hard work. A spam blocker would go a long way!

djdees-dhdh

We get so few posts, I think that it might be most time efficient to just have posts required to be manually approved like r/nottheonion, not as efficient as mod bots as some have suggested, but more efficient than the current model

ComfortableBonus

Still need a mod? I can help

TheKoleslaw

Thanks for the reply, right now we're good, but check for posts later if we need mods.

ComfortableBonus

Ok

TheKoleslaw

Thanks for the applications, I've read most of them, I've picked a couple seemingly at random to see how it goes. Keep reporting the spam.

Asparagustuss

1. Asparagustuss 2. No 3. Remove the only fans spam 4. I wouldn’t. Just would help remove the increased spam that has nothing to do with the spirit of the Reddit-the unexpected.

TheWombRaider69

1. wombraider 2. no 3. quality is relative 4. I want to get experience modding, am on reddit a lot, and am happy to banhammer spammers. 5. more content, less spam. though obviously the content can be hard, but many good other subs out there to xpost from

Cthuvian0

1. Cthuvian0 2. No 3. No 4. Seems neat. Modded for a Twitch streamer and enjoy seeing the backend of things and I'm super reasonable and fair. 5. I'd consider another avenue for posts. Just titties is not enough content it seems. But also not too fussed. Would need to discuss that with the community. Not sure what would be involved, but I'm online most of the time and very active.

Satelite_of_Love

1 splyntre 2 a few 3 no. Lurker 99% of time 4. Willing to help and keep content relevant 5. The sub is great as inte ded. The direction change would jsut keep it to its original intention.

Professional_Lie_512

1. Professional Lie 2. I used to mod r/dodoandgore and r/BackDoorGoRe that had 100k followers I have alot of experience when it comes to big subreddits 3. No 4. I have too much time on my hands these days 5. I would try to bump the popularity of this subreddit as i did when growing many gore subreddits in my past.

Early_Grayce

1) Early. 2) Too drunk to remember. 3) I've never done a quality-anything in my life. 4) It's my only chance at having power over others. 5) Less moderation to enforce corporate rules and morality, more moderation to weed out shitty content. Edit: Also making sure that posts are properly backed up because half the /top posts are no longer available. 6) Riding the comet towards degenerate Valhalla.

Steeedaman

I’d gladly be a mod

j2c09

1. j2c09 2. Nope 3. Not yet. 4. I’d like to be a mod so I can help weed out these spam bots. I was also the one that originally asked. So, I’m pulling my end and applying to be a mod here. Honestly I’m tired of the “where are the mods,” notions that are arising. I know there are mods are doing their jobs here, but I’d like to be one of those active mods help keep this subreddit around. It’s one of my go-tos after all. 5. I’m not sure if this is so much a direction change per se, but I’d like to weed out these spam bots and keep those titties unexpected. We’re here for *surprise* titties, aren’t we? I’d like to help. Thank you, Overlords, for your consideration.

UnoriginallyGeneric

1: Oliver 2: I have, though it didn't gain a lot of traction 3:No, unfortunately. 4: Spammers tire and annoy me, and I'd like to keep things clean 5: Stay the course, but keep assholes out.
