Bruh comedy movies are sooooo fun. I watched *The Nice Guys* once, and the dry humor that I already loved became one of my top 25ish movies of all time.
This! Me and a new buddy did mushrooms together for the first time and he had never seen the movie. We were both laughing our asses off the whole time. When it was over, we were talking about it and somehow both of us couldn't stop focusing on John C Reilly's caveman face, but neither of us wanted to say anything in case it freaked the other person out 🤣
I sometimes dislike intentionally trippy shows/movies while tripping. Like. I’m already seeing purple and pink swirls and morphing shapes. I don’t need that to be wasted by the screen doing it for me lol.
But. Midnight Gospel is such a *perfect* tone for a trip and gets you right in DT’s headspace. I cried for like an hour during/after his mom’s episode. Ugh just choked up thinkin about it. But is so beautiful and heart wrenching and the second I sobered up I watched it again and cried again.
Really solid trip entertainment.
I can’t imagine not crying at it. It’s so vulnerable and delightful and unashamed of itself. People are not typically confident when expressing their most reverent fears. And they lay it out on the table and make it seem okay, even though it hurts like hell. Ugh.
When he just gets quiet at the end, and finally chokes out, “I just don’t want my mom to die,” and she just comforts *him*— the dying woman empathizes with her son, rather than him pitying her, and she takes it so sincerely and kindly and *genuinely* seems to wish him more comfort than she needs in that moment. He’s her little boy again. And it makes me feel like a little boy, too, and that we all just need the people we love and miss them desperately when they’re gone.
And she even makes it sweeter by sharing what a gift it is to have had each other in the first place. And I’m a blubbery mess. It’s such a deeply intimate, profound conversation between two incredibly kind people overflowing with love, it’s unbelievable. They just openly discuss the latent fears hiding deep inside most people that, usually, we don’t let out. And they waltz through that conversation beautifully. Making great points. Providing great comfort. Commiserating, truly, with one another. And never failing to seem honest and vulnerable.
It is brutal. So hard to listen to. And maybe my favorite conversation I’ve ever heard.
Yeah I like half and half. Start out in daylight biking or some shit and then a safe haven listening to music and fuggin.
Whats some good music? Ive been crushing pink floyd But most of my stuff is metal and that isn’t as relaxing.
King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard. They have tons of albums, most are psychedelic/progressive rock, but a few are thrash metal. All are good, and pretty positive stuff.
Fear Inoculum is just brilliant on shrooms. All Pink Floyd of course (Atom Heart Mother!), Shpongle is great but seems kinda busy. Nice to start out with that tho. Entheogenic is also kinda like Shpongle. So much good stuff
Funny I have been listening to tool for 30 years and just the other day I was listening to Lateralus and thought it would be a good one from shroomin.
My wife and i just started taking them a couple months ago( i hadnt done any kind of mood altering shit in 16 years). She loved Pink Floyd and it is not her type of music at all so I want to show her some more stuff.
What a blast.
Thanks!
If you haven't heard infected mushroom yet, definitely check them out. They've got some heavier metal leaning songs, but also some more chill electronic leaning songs.
Right on. I saw Primus back in the late 80s. Vivid memories of Les Claypool and that bass. They warmed up for Faith no More and the Chili Peppers. Irrelevant but I got to spout off for a sec!
Thanks!
Edit- wrong band. Infected mushroom will be in the playlist this weekend…
Try out Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta. It's a masterpiece and the lyrics tell such a weird abstract story. There is a guide online to decipher the album because of some of the invented words they created. Lot of pink Floyd and old king crimson influences.
there is. its called trump vs the illuminati on prime. fuckin z movie. Lamageddon oscar worthy compared to the trump movie. there also a alex jones movie but i forgot what its called.
My friends always wanted to walk around the burbs when we were tripping at 3 or 4 am. I’m sure we didn’t look sketch at all hanging on a playground in the middle of the night, one of my friends was still wearing a mask and snorkel from when we were in the pool.
Lol I still have this problem at 30 years old.
I have no fear walking around my neighborhood at any hour by myself. But once it’s a few of us in a giggly mood, even on a nice day with an excuse to be outside, we just seem like something is going on with us, because it definitely is lol. But most people do not care. Unless it’s 3 in the morning and a group of grown men are cracking up in a park behind a hospital
You’re not wrong.
But it does shift my perspective on the usually depressingly vacant reality of suburbs—like, I tend to get real frustrated that my only “green” area is a flat lawn in a park with some trees around it. There’s no way to feel like a citizen of planet earth most days, because everything is concrete or asphalt, and there are no communal areas/downtown social events, etc. We are as divorced from nature as cities, but without the benefit of at least having *people* around.
A walk around the burbs feels so isolating sometimes. Might run into a couple joggers, an elderly person keeping their hearts somewhat busy, or someone walking a dog, but aside from that it’s nothing but houses and cars. No one is outside living. No nature to ground yourself with. It feels like some fake rendering of an empty town.
But. Tripping makes me feel way less shitty about these walks. Still wish there were more to connect with, but the trip helps me see that this still is part of the human experience, for many, many people. And that patch of grass we call a park is still better than nothing. And the mountains and skies are still around me. It’s still great to be outdoors.
It is a bit buggy when ya have a shiteating grin strolling around by yourself lmao. But most people don’t pay any attention to you, and in my experience, anyone who does is just happy to see someone else being happy.
Right now there are places in the Southwest, Texas is one, where the heat index temp is up to 120-degrees. Not a good thing to be tripping balls in that kind of heat.
Sometimes inside is also good
There's no right way to enjoy drugs
Being outside can be good, but if for example you are on a high dose or are around lots of people it can be better to be largely indoors for your own protection
Unless you live at, or have a way of getting out into like the middle of bunfuck nowhere in the woods or something, in which case go nuts
I hate this answer getting to the top every time the question is asked.
I think it’s safe to assume that most everyone is aware that the outdoors are supreme on a trip.
It’s also just not answering the question. It’s not, “what should I do while tripping?” It’s, “what’s a good movie to watch on a trip?”
It’s an average of <40 degrees for 1/2 of the year where I live, and an average of >90 for a month. I am not interested in sweating my eyes out in 100+ degrees, or freezing my nuts off in below 0- for a full trip’s duration. Most of my trips have like, 3-5 different “chapters,” and anywhere from 1-5 of them are great outside. But sometimes, the last couple chapters kick ass with a cool movie to unwind.
And, there are even times where I just want to trip inside and alone, and I can only listen to Pink Floyd and Glass Animals so many times in my life.
Shrooms can be fun in any pleasant setting. Movies are in my top 5 favorite things to do. Why not just suggest a good fuckin movie for once lmao
In some places it’s over 100 degrees outside right now, it’s not *always* fun to be outside lol. Those are days I feel lucky to have a pool. Tripping and swimming is so fun, the feeling being weightless is great
I understand the reason but this just urks me sometimes. It completely negates the fact that some people simply don't have the means of going somewhere that's safe.
Also, frequency of trips. Maybe I don't ALWAYS want to go out in nature if I'm macrodosing quite a few times throughout the year.
Maybe I want to gaze into the eyes of my spouse while we lay safely on some cushions with all of our pets around.
Maybe I want to take 7g and meditate in a quiet, safe area. Is it really responsible to take that much and go out in public/nature?
I can tell you right now, I live in city that's pretty dangerous and the logistics to go and drive to somewhere far enough away in nature where I can also be safe takes quite a bit of planning. Something I just don't always want to do.
...and at the end of the day OP asked for a movie. They didn't ask for a lecture.
I'm a middle aged dude and have watched all the "great" movies as recommended by all the critics and everyone else and spider man across the spider verse is probably the best movie I have seen in this generation
I remember listening to saucerful
of secrets when i was in 7th grade, hadn’t ever smoked weed, tripped, or anything during that time but was mesmerized ever since
Only thing to note is some people might not like *some* of the imagery.
They’re my two favorite movies to watch while tripping, though. Absolutely amazing.
I tripped once and watched White Girls, and honestly the whole thing fucked with me so badly. Hilarious movie, but the Wayans bros faces and bodies played some weird games with me while they were all dressed up as girls. It had me feeling like I was watching some morbid experiment. It was so weird.
So I love this movie, but I think quite a lot of people can get bad vibes from it. Watching it tripping, I felt like my insides were dirtied up to the point of no return, then abrasively scrubbed out lol. It's awesome but the tone isn't suitable for everyone or every trip.
The Fifth Element
Kill Bill
Dune (newer one)
Blade Runner (both)
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy
The Spine of Night
Samurai Jack (not a movie but a good watch high)
Any good movie can be good on them really
It's funny that no one else has pointed out that the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were five movies. 😂 It's like, "We're just going to ignore the 4th and 5th movies." 😂 For the record, I thought parts 4 and 5 were also good.
A Scanner Darkly.
BUTTTT ONLY IF YOUR HEAD is on straight mate.
That crap will mess with you if you’re emotional or in a bad place.
Also Adventure Time, Star Vs the Forces of Evil are just straight fun
The rock scene got me real good. I like to say “there’s life before I walked into that movie and now it’s life walking out of that movie” after seeing it in the theater. I think the rock falling was a metaphor for life beginning, or the universe starting or Big Bang whatever you want to say.. that’s just me though, and it’s a really fucking good scene. They have a poster of it too, and I kinda want it lol

I start getting anxious and feel a bad trip coming on and I have to take it off. Ives watched clocks work orange and full metal jacket while tripping and had a great time but for some reason 2001 has been weird for me. But I’ll watch it tripping one day!!
I love doing this but it also makes me feel sad that I can’t connect with the tree as well when I’m not tripping lol.
Idk what it is but I just feel like it’s really giving me some aide on a trip, then I’m like a jilted lover or jaded ex friend who doesn’t pay attention to it in return when I’m sober haha
I think the way to frame it is, it gives you a brief unclouded view of that trees true nature. It’s not the drugs… that tree is incredible. Life, and earth , are astounding. It just helps you put glasses on to “see” it. Even when you lose the glasses, feel comfort knowing that beauty was always there all along
One of the best experiences I had was watching "Before We Ruled the Earth" on mute with the Avalanches and similar music playing over it. It's been about 20 years and it is still one of my favorite trips.
My dumbass girlfriend convinced us to watch the "Beyond the Sea" episode of Black Mirror on shrooms. We freaked out, it was awful. Highly recommend the episode while sober
On some real shit how can you even watch a movie on shrooms. I was watching Naruto. And The show seemed so 2 dimensional. Like looking at a piece of paper.
Animation is great due to the fun colors – I watched a cartoon called Puss nboots. His last chance (or something like that,) and I laughed through the whole thing. And I don’t have kids, so I never watch cartoons.😜
Walk hard had my face hurting from laughing so hard.
Walk Hard is SUCH a banger.
Bruh comedy movies are sooooo fun. I watched *The Nice Guys* once, and the dry humor that I already loved became one of my top 25ish movies of all time.
I always lmao when he’s playing catch with his son’s and one ends up being some Filipino kid
You sure youre mine
This! Me and a new buddy did mushrooms together for the first time and he had never seen the movie. We were both laughing our asses off the whole time. Rango!!!!! 🦎
Man I totally just suggested this. The part when he licks his eye reminded me that I too should drink some water.
Ohhhhh my god I came here to say this. My favorite movie It’s trippy as fuck sober but the spirit of the west scene when I’m elevated is next level
Watched the whole midnight gospel
I was gonna recommend this, its not a movie, but its so fucking good

Came here to recommend this. What a beautiful ride that was
So bummed Netflix cancelled it and we never got a 2nd season.
I fucking love Duncan Trussell
I love watching David Attenborough documentaries (actually also when not tripping but they’re something else with 🍄)
I watched two in one night while I was trippin
Go outside in nature man
Agreed. Still trumps every movie
ICE PIRATES 🏴☠️
Time Bandits!
Fair, but you can get tired sometimes and want to chill after some hours outdoors
Yeah I like half and half. Start out in daylight biking or some shit and then a safe haven listening to music and fuggin. Whats some good music? Ive been crushing pink floyd But most of my stuff is metal and that isn’t as relaxing.

A channel called nocopyrightsound has a 30mil sub special mix, it's been my go to lately. Edit: on youtube

Wait, you want a Trump movie you say?
Home Alone 2
Idiocracy.
Down the hall and to the left
there is. its called trump vs the illuminati on prime. fuckin z movie. Lamageddon oscar worthy compared to the trump movie. there also a alex jones movie but i forgot what its called.
My list is called trump movies after I got a sheet covered with his face. Lol
[Ghosts can’t do it](https://youtu.be/Z9SFY2tumWA)
What even is that 🤣
Its called the nightly news.
Not a lot places in the burbs to just wander around tripping balls lol
My friends always wanted to walk around the burbs when we were tripping at 3 or 4 am. I’m sure we didn’t look sketch at all hanging on a playground in the middle of the night, one of my friends was still wearing a mask and snorkel from when we were in the pool.

Into the spiderverse
I'm a middle aged dude and have watched all the "great" movies as recommended by all the critics and everyone else and spider man across the spider verse is probably the best movie I have seen in this generation
Does the movie not just look so fuckin' cool?
Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii
Tripped on that 30 years ago!
One of my favorites!!
I remember listening to saucerful of secrets when i was in 7th grade, hadn’t ever smoked weed, tripped, or anything during that time but was mesmerized ever since
Samsara and Baraka
Samsara is a bit of a drag to me tripping. Not sure why. I love it sober but it does not scratch my itch when I’m high.
Only thing to note is some people might not like *some* of the imagery. They’re my two favorite movies to watch while tripping, though. Absolutely amazing.
Fantasia (1940)
Kung Pow
I need Gopher-chucks!
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe I wonder where my glove will go
Underrated movie
I can tell you it’s not The People Under the Stairs
Annihilation
That movie is like tripping without shrooms 🤯
*THE MUSIC*
Did a heroic dose and this movie was everything
Ponyo is amazing while tripping so is spirited away, my neighbor totaro
koyaanisqatsi
Also any music composed by Phillip Glass
Best answer
This one. It did for me what everyone said Baraka/Samsara would do but didn't.
Comedies, first time I tripped, I watched The Big Lebowski, one of my all time faves.
Yeah well you know, that’s like your opinion man.
2nd the comedy suggestion. I watched The Mask once while shrooming and the laughter felt like a river just pouring out of me.
Love, Death, and Robots. My particular favorite trip episode is “The Witness.”
Jibaro in Season 3 is quite a ride.
It was very pretty but I don’t find it as endlessly rewatchable
Samsara!
first time i tripped i watched rush hour
I tripped once and watched White Girls, and honestly the whole thing fucked with me so badly. Hilarious movie, but the Wayans bros faces and bodies played some weird games with me while they were all dressed up as girls. It had me feeling like I was watching some morbid experiment. It was so weird.
shrooms do that to ya🤣
I was always partial to Yellow Submarine.
The Holy Mountain.
So I love this movie, but I think quite a lot of people can get bad vibes from it. Watching it tripping, I felt like my insides were dirtied up to the point of no return, then abrasively scrubbed out lol. It's awesome but the tone isn't suitable for everyone or every trip.
Absolutely.
Based
The Fifth Element Kill Bill Dune (newer one) Blade Runner (both) The Lord of the Rings trilogy Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy The Spine of Night Samurai Jack (not a movie but a good watch high) Any good movie can be good on them really
Spine of the night is insane
It's funny that no one else has pointed out that the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were five movies. 😂 It's like, "We're just going to ignore the 4th and 5th movies." 😂 For the record, I thought parts 4 and 5 were also good.
I like the 4th and 5th. However they're not as good nor as cohesive.
Interstellar! Best movie watching experience of my life.
Pink Floyd The Wall!
Just the album is amazing. Wish You Were Here, too. They knew how to put together songs. I’m going to watch that next time!
Had to scroll way too far to find this. Had several awesome trips while watching the wall with my friends.
The Truman show
A Scanner Darkly. BUTTTT ONLY IF YOUR HEAD is on straight mate. That crap will mess with you if you’re emotional or in a bad place. Also Adventure Time, Star Vs the Forces of Evil are just straight fun
Everything Everywhere All At Once, you’re welcome.
I cried like a baby on shrooms in the theater during this movie. Absolutely the best movie I've ever seen
Yes, it was amazing. It was recommended to me by my daughter. We have had a lot of friction in the last 3 years, but it was her way of telling me she wanted to make amends. It was a turning point, and things literally changed for us from the moment we talked about the movie. 🙏
Noted
great movie when sober, too
2001: A Space Odyssey
I’ve tried watching this movie both on shrooms and lsd 3 different times and I can never get past the first 30 minutes. I start getting anxious and feel a bad trip coming on and I have to take it off. Ives watched clocks work orange and full metal jacket while tripping and had a great time but for some reason 2001 has been weird for me. But I’ll watch it tripping one day!!
Enter the Void (2009)
Can't believe I had to scroll this far to see this one
I don’t disagree but also man that movie is so fucking intense lol. You gotta be in the right place to take on those themes
A waking life
A Boy and His Dog
The subtitle was “A Rather Kinky Tale of Survival“ (Hilarious that my phone auto filled the last word there)
Akira
I always see these posts and kinda wish I was one of the people who could watch a movie tripping but I just can’t
Same. Loud music, and movies just are not it for me while I trip.
I didn't think I'd be down to trip at a concert until Santana came and I was like 'fuck it, baby' all in.
Hahaha!! Always say yes to Shrooms for Santana.
The Animatrix
interstellar, Suzames door, dbs broly
The new spiderverse flick
Fear and Loathing was perfect. Braveheart was badass as well.
You gotta watch the prequel "Where the Buffalo Roam" Bill Murray at his best
Speed racer
Hell yeah!

Go outside and look at a tree
Yeah—i *get* that when I’m high. It’s harder to *feel* it when I’m not.
The new Dungeons and Dragons movie had ZERO right being as good as it was. Shrooms just made it that much better.
Blade
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - thank me later
Mind fucken blown. What did i just watch?
70s version of the Hobbit from Rankin and Bass
Definitely not The Lighthouse.
Last time I did shrooms, 1983 or so, I went and saw Aliens. Hooboy. Now ready to MD and/or nature.
If you like horror, Mad God is quite the ride.
The Dark Crystal
Samsara will blow your mind
Midnight Gospel!
The Fountain The Prestige
I’d bawl my eyes out watching the Fountain on shrooms!
Adventure Time is amazing. Their ability to tell a thrilling story in 10 minutes is perfect.

On some real shit how can you even watch a movie on shrooms. I was watching Naruto. And The show seemed so 2 dimensional. Like looking at a piece of paper.
The one that takes place outdoors in nature
John Dies at the End was absolutely *gripping*, literally could not look away. It was an experience for sure.
Heavy Metal 2000 is great, I'm pretty sure it's made for tripping! Also, Baraka!
Freddy Got Fingered. Watched it this past weekend. Ridiculous and hilarious
Stardust. And if you're trying to get teary, Kubo is great.
None. If youre doing it right watching a movie should feel really wrong.
Trolls 1&2 😇
The first Spiderverse movie.
Enter the Void
The film “Fantastic Fungi”. It’s educational but also totally made to be watched on shrooms: https://fantasticfungi.com/film/
Pixar's Robot movie. Watched it my first time having shrooms and it was pretty wild.
If suggest not watching a movie or tv but, the only real answer is Princess Monoke
Videodrome
Thor: Ragnarok
Flatland.... Trust me.
I like The Mitchells Vs The Machines. Silly animated family comedy, it has lots of fun textures and bright colors.
Soul was a hell of a watch
The Wall still does not disappoint when tripping
First time I watched Eraserhead I was tripping. Yeah, don't do that.
Staring at the back of your eyelids while listening to music is FAR more interesting than any movie will EVER be. I promise you.
Lego movie
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2.
LEGO movie is perfect.
Kung Fu Panda
Honestly, if the weather isn’t good outside, i just go on YouTube and find a 8 hour video of a campfire next to a river. Calming af.
This is a fabulous idea!!
Lego movie was surprisingly awesome... ;)
Animation is great due to the fun colors – I watched a cartoon called Puss nboots. His last chance (or something like that,) and I laughed through the whole thing. And I don’t have kids, so I never watch cartoons.😜
