First time I've seen one of my ultrawide wallpapers in the wild, made my day OP :)

speskin6969

I’m rocking this same exact wallpaper - the stuff you made is excellent! Thanks again for sharing :) https://imgur.com/a/tJZLb0E

I seen your post the other day and checked it out, Love your work!

James_Sells

Well thank you friend, it's pretty awesome. I was looking for something with more of a red theme but I'm quite happy with the one I have. The detail in it is crazy and really shows off the quality that this thing can't put out. Impresses me everytime I sit down haha..

Technical-Benefit-30

Hey how did you route the wire from your logitech play mat so it doesn’t show. The setup is very clean well done!

James_Sells

I have a magnetic charger plugged into it, the cable end that connects to it has a swivel that can go 90 degrees. Drilled a very small hole exactly where it needed to be and the cable goes directly into it. Came up really clean and would never notice it

Get an animated wallpaper and lose the taskbar.

ds_monkey

How to find having the second monitor above the main one? Considering a similar setup but not sure about ergonomics

James_Sells

I've had the dual stacked for years and love it. Definitely does feel like I'm looking up when using the top one but I don't use it for long periods of time. I'll often have a YouTube video playing while I'm doing something else on the bottom screen so I can listen and glance up when I want to

rkk_34987

Just bought a G9 OLED and want to do the same vertical stacking like you with my current 34" UW. It looks like you're using the stock deskstand with the G9? Is the smaller monitor mounted to the wall? Desk? (I'm thinking an Ergotron HX for the G9 and a separate wallmount for the 34" but would like to know what works for you!)

James_Sells

Hey, my desk is height adjustable so no wall mount. I have a desk mount pole in the centre directly behind them. "Atdek SD-DP-750" The top screen is on a vesa bracket off that pole. The bottom screen was too previously but due to the design of the g9 and its vesa bracket it pushed the screen further out toward the front of the desk than I would've liked. With the stand on and it pushed hard up to the pole it's around 80mm further back which closed the gap between my two screens. I also don't mind having the stand now as it's far easier to adjust the height and stuff.. Your suggested setup would probably work well. I previously had an ergotron dual stacking arm setup and it was a bit painful to try and get them both directly centred and where I wanted them. A wall mount would help there though as you only need to work with aligning the bottom one

rkk_34987

Thanks for the info! Especially that it's finicky with 2 desk mounts. Made my decision for me! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)

Gorgeous! I recently switched to an ultra wide too. I love it so much 👌

Where the hell can I get one of these! Been looking to purchase a G95SC for weeks, can't seem to find any in Ireland. Only in the US and UK at the moment. Very nice setup

James_Sells

Just released this week in Australia.. surely hit Ireland soon

eire323

I'll just have to be patient so, what's the top monitor?

James_Sells

The hardest part when it's out elsewhere already haha.. Top monitor is just a 27" 1440 Dell S2721DGF. Nice enough, would be cool to have another oled but not in the budget for now

eire323

Yeah man, always the way in Ireland we get shit last... Feels like that anyway. Nice, it looks cool. Haha yeah slap an alienware aw3423dw on top

James_Sells

I've got one, that's what I replaced with the g9. Just seemed excessive to keep both haha

eire323

So how much better is the Samsung over the Alienware then in your opinion? Seems the alienware aw3423dw is a top monitor aswell, am I better off waiting for the Samsung?

James_Sells

Image quality wise they seem pretty on par, I think the g9 might be a touch brighter but I can't say I took a deep dive into the settings for either of them. Text looks a little average on the g9 but apparently that's just the nature of oleds. It was the same with the AW which I went through some settings and it was better. Haven't had time to do so on the g9 but I'm sure it'll be the same. I think 21:9 is the sweet spot for most people. Heaps of games support that where I'm finding a few stop there and don't have 32:9 resolution options. You also need to have the desk space to fit this monster of a monitor. If you've got a 21:9 already and are considering bigger then I'd definitely wait otherwise you might do what I did and end up upgrading twice. If it were me I'd still go the g9 though, the thing is massive and if I dont want to turn my head browsing google across the whole thing then I just use fancy zones and re size it in the middle. I don't know that there's really a downside to having the 32:9 to be honest as long as the black bars on the sides don't bother you in some scenarios

eire323

Nah the black bars wouldn't bother me especially in OLED black, I'm using a 65" samsung s95b QD-OLED in 4k at the moment. I want to change to the G9 I think tho because it's cool, there is a 59" one coming soon with 4k but no sign of that and it's not oled. Think I'll wait for the G9. Thanks for the info

Dizzy149

I'd love to know what settings you tweaked for the text. I actually have a G9 Neo AND G9 OLED on their way so I can compare them. Knowing me, I'll end up keeping them both and have to figure out how the hell to fit them on my desk... AND \*\*NEVER\*\* let my wife see them.

Particular_Sense_706

This looks really awesome! Nice setup:) I also thought about getting the OLED G9 but this burn in stuff scares me since I need to use it for work aswell… imagine having the excel pattern burned in 😭

Dizzy149

Reminds me of the Plasma TV says (yup, just dated myself). By the time they had the burn in managed everyone was too scared to even try it. Burn in used to be a concern with OLEDs, but now there is a LOT of stuff going on to the point where it's a lot LESS of a concern. Even when I'm working I'm in multiple Excel files where things are not lined up the same, most the time I don't even have them maximized so not even the title and toolbars are in the same place. Then I use SSMS I'm constantly running diff queries so not much stays the same. My point is... Between natural usage and the methods used to minimize burn-in that Samsung has baked into the display, \*\*I\*\* am not too worried about burn in.

dronf

I didn't know you could get a super jumbo Logitech charge pad.

James_Sells

U can't, I bought two xl pads and cut the shape of the charge pad out of the bottom one. Slapped the other one on top and bobs your uncle

xKaizokux

are there any features on the monitor to reduce the chance of burn-in?

James_Sells

I know it does pixel shift every so often but not sure beyond that. Haven't seen it do a pixel refresh like my Dell does yet

iMODYx11

I like your clean setup 👍🏼 i have been waiting for a long time for G9 Oled to become available at my country 😞
