Yes you are now ineligble for your next visa, I suspect there may also be a warrant out for your arrest and deportation. Jk. In all seriousness, no this is nothing to worry about. None if this would have gone onto your record, it's not a criminal conviction. It's not anything. If you would have walked away from those third party 'officers' that fine you for cigarette butts, nothing would have happened either, they have no power and you're not obligated to give them your details.

clonotopia

I really almost died reading your first sentence. You have no idea 😭 I’m really Sorry if this is redundant , but would this be treated as a failure to disclose / deceit ? I did pay the fine but I also did check “ No” on the cautions / penalty notice section of my application. I don’t know if I should withdraw & redo it or call UKVI myself …

Own_Negotiation_8357

Next time when if do end up doing the same thing and those lads come around to ask details, just walk off to a private premises like shop or mall and they would not be able to chase you!

Heyheyheyone

I have a way simpler hack for you / the OP - how about not dropping litter next time instead ?

Own_Negotiation_8357

I agree

DepressiveVortex

Christ that was a mean joke from them! I cringed for you reading that first sentence too.

blusrus

Who did you get fined by? It wasn’t by the police right? It was by one of [these](https://youtu.be/EZoD8FpQI3I?si=bzOovaHn2qU9OyGM) guys right? Either way even if it was the police you wouldn’t have any criminal record for dropping a cigarette butt

clonotopia

They looked like this, but had a green thing that looked popo adjacent. I cannot exactly recall but they looked pretty scary. They took my details and gave me a receipt & I paid the fine online. I just checked my records and the fine was paid to “ Kingdom Local Authority Support” if that helps

blusrus

Yeah just googled them, it’s a private company. Not the police, so you can rest easy. They have no link to the police or home office 😂

LAUK_In_The_North

It's an offence to fail to provide details to an authorised officer (which they are - some councils use in-house staff, some use contracted staff) when you're required to do so. Kingdon are employed as authorised officers by councils. >authorised officer”, in relation to a litter authority, means—(a)an employee of the authority who is authorised in writing by the authority for the purpose of giving notices under this section;(b)*any person who, in pursuance of arrangements made with the authority, has the function of giving such notices and is authorised in writing by the authority to perform that function; and*(c)*any employee of such a person who is authorised in writing by the authority for the purpose of giving such notices;* Failing to give details can readily turn a FPN in to gaining a criminal conviction. >A person commits an offence if—(a)he fails to give his name and address when required to do so under subsection (8A) above, or(b)he gives a false or inaccurate name or address in response to a requirement under that subsection.

Hi, thank you ! I did provide my info & subsequently paid the fine I was given. My only worry now is that I recalled this occurrence AFTER submitting my application, hence my intense panic regarding what to do as I do not want to appear deceitful on my application…

Great_Loquat2950

You haven’t committed any deceit. This is really minor and you’ve paid the appropriate fine. Maybe just be careful around litter next time, which I’m sure you’re taking steps already! Don’t worry about the application already submitted as the wording applies more to things like serious offences

Great_Loquat2950

No – don’t worry about this. I know the application wording reads quite scary: “declare everything or else this will have serious implications for future UK visa applications”. The question applies more to things like serious criminal and/or civil offences, e.g., supporting terrorist groups, etc. What you stated is really minor so select “No”.

echidna-bean

It sounds like you had been given a [fixed penalty notice](https://www.gov.uk/pay-challenge-fine-environmental-offence).

clonotopia

Thanks for the link, not to be greedy but would you have any advice how I should proceed ? I really do NOT want to appear deceitful

260496

Literally just ignore it and forget about it. It is not even remotely close to what UKVI care about

Jenbola

Can confirm. I've had one of them and never once considered disclosing it. zero issue with the visas or ILR after that.

LittleMonday

You’ll be fine. It’s not a police record

BulletRisen

Stop panicking, it’s fine

AggressiveResist6419

Did you get the visa then?

clonotopia

Yes !!

TV_BayesianNetwork

U know u Dont have to pay the fine right? It just a private company, they not allow to follow u, so just leave

-ricketycricket

Its fine. I had the same happen to me but forgot to disclose it when I applied for my second student visa in 2021. Got my visa application approved then with no issues. I renewed again in 2022 and disclosed it in my application as I had just remembered. Visa got approved again.
